SnS Live Event Video

Hello forum.
I am setting up a DME 2200 to integrate to my SnS in 5.2.3 version But I have some errors in the browser where I tested. With Chrome and Firefox shows this phrase : "Windows media plugin not installed click here to install" , and with Internet Explorer shows only a black screen.
I tested with Windows Media Player and the video is displayed correctly.
Has anyone had any similar problem? I attached any screens

hello all,
if i can add my suggestion is to replace the "working" url (as the one in windows media player) with the one that is automatically placed on the SnS. Then you should preceed saving the Live Even as normal
Just a tip here: make sure that the DME is correctly discovered and saved in the DME Tab, because it seems that the DME is not correctly saved. http:\\ip:7007DME ? The correct one should be http://ip:7007 !

Live event: same channel same port fail to stream two differ stream type

Hi All,
When I create live event in same channel and same port with differ type streaming (unicast and multicast) I can’t start DME so I cannot start broadcast too and video cannot stream..
I did try and used non-dme live event .. the result still same and video not stream in sns. Im ussualy use this way with last dmm version (5.0.2) and to day I use SnS ver 5.2.1 its not running/ video blank......
anybody know what happening ???

* What is connected to the DME providing the LIVE stream?
* Specifically, how do you have the DME configured for your setup?
* Please provide the SCREEN CAPTUREs of your DME configuration on
the SNS
* Have you configured a "Basic" configuration (single channel\port only) on the DME
and SNS with 5.2.1 and have it working? Have you ever got the DME working with SnS 5.2.1

Non-DME live event - Embed question

Hello Netpros,
Is there any chance to receive the embed code (as in the VoD) for the non-dme live events?
I have tried to manipulate the embed code from a random VoD and i have replaced the ccsid url to the one of the desired non-dme live event. Then, i have embedded this code to wepage, the player is visible but the stream is not.
Maybe the only way is to use a 3rd party video player when embedding non-dme events?
Any thoughts?

Show & Share Live Event Full Screen Disabled

Hey,
Has anyone else encountered this. When we are boradcasting a live event the 'Full Screen' button in Show & Share is disabled. I'm pretty sure this functionality used to be availabel but have no idea why its suddenly not.
Any help would be appreciated.

this button is off , can not be used by the client . In the above when i said use more tab show below
on show and share - videos
Browse to the video
On the video playback screen, click the More button
Choose Fullscreen

How to use flash media server with cisco show n share live event module?

hello all
Is it possible to use flash media server in show n share (non dme)live event ? i 've configured flash media server, can receive multicast streams, bu i have no idea what to write in video url fild in the live event basic setup.

You should be able to stream from a Flash Media Server.
The URL should look like this:
rtmp://xxx.yyy.com//flv:
You can do some tests from a PC to get the exact URL that would suit your environment.

Multicast Show and Share live event from TCS

Hi
I have a deployment with DMM, SnS, and TCS and C90 Telepresence codec.
The TCS is sending the live stream to the SnS server. The question is if it is possible to multicast that live event to the SnS clients, or is unicast the only option here?
If unicast is the only option with the current deployment, is it possible to make a multicast stream with a different deployment?
I would appriciate any thoughts on this.

Hi, yes you can use mutlicast to do this(but as Gabriel says its not SNS tat streams it, it is merely a container looking at the raw stream from the TCS or wherever you choose to pull it from) but its a complete waste of time IF your network isnt setup for Multicast AND if you have WAN sites running slow links...TCS uses Microsoft Windows Media Server for Uni/multi and is inherently TERRIBLE in sending multicast traffic..! If you have wireshark have a look for yourself..unicast it can deal with and it will send a nice consistent stream but Multicast bursts all over the shop(so a 500k stream can burst to 2mb..which is not a good thing if yhou know about routing congestion etc etc)...took me months of workng out the root cause of the issue and to eventually get Cisco to fess up about it and say 'yes' its an issue. Its really a Microsoft issue and unfortunately thats what Cisco's TCS platform sits on....:).
Forget reading he 'standard' Cisco blurb as it will say try this and try that, tweak this and tweak that but in the end you just cant use it (unless as i say your on a LAN or your WAN has big links and can deal with the overheads!) also unless you have a TAC engineer who has actually deployed this and not just read the manual they wont having wokring knowledge of the issue either. It took me a long time to find someone at Cisco who actually did know the issue and would actually admit it was a issue..I guess thats why the developed ECDS. Now thats a good product.But as usual not cheap at all.
Thats why Cisco talk about 'Wowza'..!(or atleast they use it as an example in thier blurb for streaming and not the TCS) As it can deal with multicast fine BUT the catch is its not supported by Cisco...:)...the only REAL solution is to use a content delivery system like Cisco ECDS. Believe me i have spent months going through this with TAC Engineers and i have the current ' Cisco Expert' in this field who has helped me alot with this. Its a very sad fact to find out 'after' the fact.
Also the new SNS will be very different so will lend itself to ECDS in the long run anywa so all this we are discussing becomes a mute point...
Hope this helps. If you need any assistance apart from the TAC let me know as i have just spent a fair while deploying this myself and working out 'ALL' the non documented issues, of which there seem to be alot. Once its in it seems to work ok though.

Show and share & live event module problem

Hello everyone
recently i've installed cisco show and share , also with live event module.. I need to run live event without DME(digital media encoder), i need to run "NON-Dme live event" .
simply i need to attach my web cam to my live streaming event? is it possible?
There is a field "Video URL" but i dont know exactly how to use it..

Hi Temur,
It's true that the Show and Share only supports either WMV or Flash streams as input. Therefore, you need to make sure that the camera you are using has that capability.
Unfortunately, I cannot tell you of any camera that works directly, because I don't know of any. Normally, for our lab tests, we use either a DME or a Windows Media server to generate the live streams.
Anyway, I would recommend you to have a look at the link below for a list of the supported bitrates and video dimensions.

I've seen alot of topic on how to create video sites for
clips, etc. with Flex and Flash Media Server, but how about live
streaming video, like a concert or a seminar. I can't find any
information on this at all, could anyone point me in the right

What you need is grab video/sound form camera/mic, publish it
on FMS and let the other clients play it. In a few steps:

If you're using Flex2 and FMS2 (the latest FMS is 3), you
might need to
cuange the connection encoding to AMF0 (which is what FMS2
uses) in order for this to work.

Presenter View During Live Events In Show and Share

Hi,
I am a bit confused about the user authorisation during live events of Show and Share. There is a user who is creating the event and publishing it. I think this user should be the moderator. He can see the questions tab and check the questions coming from the other participants and send them to the presenter view tab.
I have found some information about the moderator and presenter in the user guide for show and share but I could not find out which user can be a presenter, or are the presenter and the moderator the same user or not.
Below is from user guide:
The live event moderator pre-screens these incoming questions and comments as they arrive. Moderators can:
• Move any high-priority questions to the Presenter’s View tab. • Move any low-priority questions to the Removed Questions tab, either manually or automatically by keyword. • Use keyword filters to see and manage only the messages that match those keywords.
. The presenter then responds to any number of these pre-screened questions and comments. (These are messages that the moderator moved to the Presenter’s View tab.)
From the above information, it seems that there are seperate presenter and moderator, but is there a way to assign a user other than moderator only the presenter rights?

AIR SDK 16 (and 15): live stream video pauses when from non-iOS to iOS

Using either sdk 15 or 16, when live streaming video through media server, if I go from iOS to iOS devices, no issue. If I go from non-iOS device to iOS device, the non-iOS device receives the video and audio fine from the iOS device, but on the iOS device the video it receives freezes (almost from the start, after a couple of frames, then long, long pause of freeze - minutes long - then a few more frames, then freezing, etc.) - the audio is fine, it appears to be just the video. I have tested this with android to android (fine), android to desktop (fine), iOS to iOS (fine), android to iOS (freezing video only on iOS side), iOS to desktop (freezing only on iOS side).

VideoTexture is a HUGE improvement for video on Windows and iOS. I am testing on Windows 8 and iPhone 6, but VideoTexture is still in beta and will take a few more months to get the kinks worked out. It is working for me on iOS sometimes, and whenever it works the pixels have a transparency applied to them. I have logged that pixel transparency bug here:

On iOS the VideoTexture seems to work for MP4s loaded directly from the file system, but RTMP is not ready yet. But when it is ready, I suggest that you adopt it immediately since VideoTexture is where Adobe is focusing it's video efforts.

Unable to watch ESPN live event online.

For the past month, ESPN access has been unavailable. It worked fine before. Now when I try to watch a live event online, I receive a "User not authorized error" message on the video screen. And I am logged into Verizon simultaneously when this occurs. Anyone know what is causing this problem?

Are you presented with a Verizon sign in page when you're trying to sign in using the web browser? The pages has the Verizon logo on it. Which web browser do you use? Are you using a subaccount to sign in or your main account?
I just checked and all is working fine with the WatchESPN web site for me.

Record Live event on FMS

I have same issue by FMS and F4V format.
I want to archive live event at same time and to do that I record live stream in F4V format on the onPublish event.
This is main.asc codes:

So when I use h264 in my source event when FMS create f4v, F4V file is 320kb (f4v isn't growing) and just record 5 second of my event whoever my live event is more than 1 hour.
But when I don't use h264 in source event my F4V file is correct and record all 1 hour video from live event.
I don't know what's a problem
I use FMS 5 extended edition and FFMPEG for stream webcam on to the FMS

Live CAM Video IM Pro - Blue Screen (KS.SYS)

Just purchased Live CAM Video IM Pro first creative product.
My System: WinXP SP2, GB, Over 8 GB system space free.
Installation went fine (no errors) post install requested reboot .. rebooted system. Blue Screen with KS.SYS.
Uninstalled all software. re-installed with bare minimum. Troubleshooted the system multiple times. Finally got the culprit (Live Cam Video IM Pro driver).
Without driver system works fine with drivers Blue Screen. Tried backup copy of KS.sys no success (seems KS.sys is dinged!)
Result: The cam is useless.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am new to FLASH and FLEX.
I want to know if i can make a Live Audio/Video application(
using Microphone and Camera) for a website by using FMS. If yes
then should i use FMSS or FMIS. I will be using FLEX Buidler IDE .
Any one who has made this type of application or link to a
tutorial.
What i would like to make is like an application of Webcam
with 2 users can see/view each other and also talk on web site. And
alos how can i embed this application in java(EE) project.
I would be very thankful if you people can guide me in this

Yes you can make a Live A/V app with FMS! that is exactly
what it was designed for. You would need FMIS as that is the
interactive version that enables live capabilities.
