Sol Man Test Plan protection

Dear All,
I am workig with Sol Man 4.0. I have created the test plan in STWB_2.
Now in "Attributes" option,  in top menu , under "Test Plan" option, i am protecting the test plan.
Now, i want control, except me, no one should able to "Remove protection".
How to control this?
Which authorization object controls this?
I have given only "DISPLAY" authorization for test plan. But  still the user can do "remove the protection"
Please help me on this?
Thanks
Kumar

Hi Senthil,
Your question is a valid one, but I am not sure how many may have explored these nuanced requirements so far, in their projects.
So, if you have a Sandbox SolMan environment you can perhaps try to enact the following and if it works you can try in the productive environment.
I am not sure if there exists a separate authorisation to prevent deletion, but there does seem to exist a functionality that prevents 'display' to users unless the document belongs to certain 'status' that you predefine.
Authorization for the activity READ(33) in the authorization object S_IWB, is checked if the role SAP_SOL_RE_COMP is used.
From SAP help in SPRO, please read more on the section:
SAP Solution Manager Implementation Guide -> SAP Solution Manager -> Configuration -> Scenario-Specific Settings -> Cross-Scenario Settings -> Status for documents
You may also want to explore:
SAP Solution Manager Implementation Guide -> SAP Solution Manager -> Configuration -> Scenario-Specific Settings -> Cross-Scenario Settings -> Document Management -> Authorizations.
I could not interpret the latter for a practical use. It needs more time being spent.
If you are ever able to crack this, please let me know at [email protected]
Thanks and regards,
Srini

  • Sol Man 4.0 and Test Director 8.0

    Hi,
We currently run Mercury's Test Director 8.0 (SP2) where we store all of our manual and automated test scripts.
We are also planning to use our Solution Manager 4.0 to create our project, our blueprint/configuration and from there on link our test cases to the process steps.
I've read that there is integration between Test Director.
What I'm looking for is that since all of our test scripts are stored in Test Director, is it possible to link those individual scripts to each process steps.
In the Test Case tab of Sol Man, there is the Test Case Type column with several options. If I select "Test document" and use "Web Link" to link to the test script, it would only bring me to the log-on page of Test Director upon which I would need to log-on and then search the Test lab for my script.
Just wondering if there's a way to accomplish (without downloading all of our scripts from Test Director and then uploading them to Sol Man.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.
    Thanks

  • How to create  a test plan with specific transactions (or program)

    Hello,
I'm a new user in Sol Man !
How to create  a test plan with specific transactions (or program).
In my Business Blueprint (SOLAR01) I've created in 'transaction tab' the name of my specific transactions and linked it.
In my test plan (STWB_2) those specific doesn't appear to be selected !
    Thanks in advance.
    Georges HUYNEN

    Hi
In solar01 you have defined but you have to assign the test case in solar02 for this test case in the test cases tab.
When you do so expand the business sceanario node in test plan generation of STWB_2 transaction and now that will appear.

  • Test Plan For Interface Scenarios

    Hi Team,
I have maintained the interface scenarios in SOALR01. This "Interface Scenario" is the standard node in Solution Manager like "Organizational Units", "Master Data" & "Business Scenarios". But in STWB_2 (Test Plan Creation), the interface scenarios are not listed for selection.
Can anyone please let me know the reason?
Note: I am using Sol Man 7.0
    Thanks

Do you have some more details about the equipment and setup you want to test.

  • Sol Man HP QC Integration -Install TAO Client

    Hi Team,
I am having the requirement to integrate SAP Sol Man with HP QC. In the process, it has been mentioned that, "Install TAO Agents in the SAP Backend systems".
What is TAO clinet? Why this is to be installed?
Backend system means , all the satellite systems which have been conneted with sol Man?
    Thanks in advance
    Kumar

    Hi Kumar,
What is TAO clinet? Why this is to be installed?
This is just another type of application. The SAP Test Acceleration and Optimization application supports customers in automating their business process tests by automatically generating draft test cases and test components. Its tight integration with SAP Solution Manager helps in identifying the impacted test cases and components when there are changes in the landscape. The SAP Test Acceleration and Optimization application creates modular test cases, which are easy to maintain, when the test cases are damaged due to functional changes.
The SAP Test Acceleration and Optimization application supports customers in automating their business process tests by automatically generating draft test cases and test components for SAP GUIu2013based transactions. Using this application in combination with the SAP Quality Center application by HP, you can modify, compose and execute automated business process tests in SAP software development and test systems. The SAP Test Acceleration and Optimization application also provides a lot of reusable library components, which could be used for test composition.
Backend system means , all the satellite systems which have been conneted with sol Man?
It might be all the systems or the system through which you want to perform, or the systems that you want to test the Business Processes
For more details please check these SAP Notes.
Note: 1391728  SAP TAO 2.0 Release and Upgrade Information.
Note: 1404715  SAP TAO 2 Installation Information.
SAP TAO Agent will be available with the SAP Solution Tools Plug-In ST-PI which has to be implemented on all the managed systems that we are planning to connect to the SolMan and SAP TAO systems. There is a compatibility matrix which you can find in the Note: 1404715.
Also you can find some materials and demos under http://service.sap.com/testing Test Management and Media Library.
    Hope this is helpful.

  • Sol Man 4.0 and Reporting out to BW

We have upgraded to Sol Man 4.0 and need to report the Change Request info, Change Document info and Transports log using an external BW box. In researching this forum, I have learned that we can export data out by activating the CRM business content. I need more guidance as to what DataSources to use. So far we have activated and found data in <b>0CRM_SRV_PROCESS_H</b> and <b>0CRM_SALES_ACT_1</b>, but I am missing information such as Change Advisory Board, Subject, External Reference, Decision Date, and Implementation date to name a few. Can anyone help? Is this documented ANYWHERE?? Thank you.

  • Digital Signatures in eCATT or Sol Man

    Hi All,
How can we include digital signatures feature either in eCATT scripts or in sol man.
    Regards,
    Justin

    HI Justin,
I am afraid I cannot be of much help either as it very much seems like SAP has not extended the digital signature functionality besides it's current support for approvals of test documents and notes in the test management domain.
To be able to use this function:
SAP Solution Manager -> Scenario specific settings -> Implementation -> Document Management -> Digital Signature & Document status
Please note that there is a 'catch' here which might be of help to you : Manual test cases of type - 'Test document' can also use this feature.
I did not find any customizations possible for automated test cases like eCATT
I, myself, am not in a position to try this feature and let you know.
However, if you are interested in the document, please revert with your email id so that I can mail it to you.
    Byeeee!

  • Integration SAP Sol Man Service Desk and HP OV Service Desk

    Hi!
We have installed SAP SM 4.0 and we also use HP OV Service Desk 4.5.And now we want to integrate both this solution.
As I understand, the interaction is realised wia web interface
In pdf file "Incident Exchange Service between HP OpenView Service Desk 4.5 and SAP Solution Manager 4.0 Service Desk" I have read what needed interface (or service) is integrated to the HP OV SD. But our administrator of HP OpenView Service
Desk sad that where no this srvice.
Are anybody know how to integrate SAP Sol Man Service Desk and HP OV Service Desk?

Hello - the document is located at http://service.sap.com/solutionmanager - media library - technical papers - Service Desk WebServices API.
However, HP is CERTIFIED by SAP to connect to this SOAP interface - the only vendor so far (Remedy and Peregrine are in process.)  HP has tested this interface at SAP and recieved certification several months ago.
I would have your HP person escalate this issue higher in HP.

  • Testmanagement: transport of business blueprints and test plans?

For the moment we have  the following situation:
We have a 3 system landscape. (development system, test system and productive system)
On the the test system, the testmanagment module (testworkbench) was integrated. This is used by 5 test projects from extern SAP systems.
My question: Is there a possibility to transport the Businesses Blueprints and the test plans of the actual test projects into the productive system?

    Hello Marc,
We have experienced similar problems. A transport of the test plan and copies of the test plans have resulted in us loosing status values and test notes.
I was informed it had to do with the fact the information is stored in the GUI. How I don't know, I am not a technical person.
I was wondering if you may have encountered the similar problems I have had above and found ways around it.
You can reach me at [email protected] as well.

  • Transport of Test Plan / Test Packages

    Dear all,
We intend to transport a test plan with all test packages from the development Solution Manager to the productive Solution Manager because in the productive Solution Manager no configuration is allowed.
We are using the Solution Manager functionality to execute manual testing in the following way:
On SOLAR02 the project 'FOUNDATION' is stored. The project 'FOUNDATION' has been migrated from a outstanding sandbox Solution Manager system to all three Solution Manager Systems: DEV, TEST and PROD. Test scripts have been uploaded on the 'test cases' tab of the respective business process branch.
In the development Solution Manager SMD a test plan has been generated using the uploaded test scripts mentioned above.
On the quality assurance Solution Manager the same project 'FOUNDATION' is stored and the same test scripts are uploaded on the same branches.
When the test plan is transported (using the recommended STWB_2 transport functionality) from the development SM to the quality assurance SM there are two issues.
    1. The transported test plan cannot be edited / regenerated anymore. An error message "The specified structure does not exist" is displayed. Message number is SOLAR056.
    2. The transported packages can be assigned to users but no notes can be added to the test cases. The error message is: "Unable to find template". Message number is SOFFICEINTEGRATION231.
It seems that the transported test plan cannot retrieve the underlying project structure, even it is identical to the project structure of the development SM.
This problem is urgent to us, as the test phase is starting next week.
Thank you very much for your support.
    Best Regards,
    Marc Reinhardt

  • Unable to create EWA in SOL MAN

    Hi Experts,
I configured EWA for SOL MAN....
I successfully generating alerts for satellite systems but not for own SOL MAN
Alert running successfully with PMS and Refresh sessins with out error
my RTCCTOOL not showing any errors/requiremwents...
    please suggest...
    version : SAP SOLMAN EHP1
    Regards,
    Siva.
    Edited by: skreddy555 on Jan 30, 2011 1:38 PM

    Hello,
So you are saying you can generate EWA reports for Satellite systems but not Solman itself?
That really doesn't give any details to the problem, as what has occured and what has not.
Is the EWA scheduled? Have you run solman_setup on Solution Manager as the managed system?
If you want to generate an EWA for Soman itself, then you also need to treat it like a managed system.
IWhat it the status in solman_ewa_adm? Is it active? If it is ther eand active it should be scheduled and then there should
be something in DSWP. Is the icon a bottle? 2 Bottles? A Red Flag? A Grey Diamond, a Document?
Is the maintenace package task scheduled and running with no errors? Are you using the SM_<SID>CLNT<nnn>_BACK RFC or the NONE RFC in SDCN as the back RFC and have you tested them?
Is SM:EXEC SERVICES finishing or cancelling? If it is cancelling is there a dump?
These are some things to check. But it is hard to even gues what the problem is because you have been so vague.
If you can describe what you have done to configure, what is working, and what seems not to be working, this would help to get an idea where & what the problem may be. But you generally need to treat the Solution Manager exactly the same as a satellite system when setting it up for EWA reporting. This make is both a managed and the managing system. So you can't skip any steps just because its the managing system. If you describe the problem in more detail, and if any part in the process is working, and what is not, that is helpful.
You should see it schedulied in DWSP. If not, then it's not scheduled. But the status in DSWP can tell a lot. A Red Flag means a problem with SDCCN tasks or the RFC, a Grey Diamond means important data is misisng and the report can't be generated, so that is a probelm is data collection, two flasks indicates sm:exec services has not run or is failing.
So you really need to give more information....unless I have already touch upon your problem, I don't know how helpful people can be but toss out general information.
I'd like to help more if you can give more details to what you see and don't see that you should.
    Regards,
    Paul

  • Certification test plan

    Hi,
Where can I get a hold of a sample test plan for ABAP add-on certification?
The add-on consists of just data dictionary structures and read-only RFMs.

    Hi Dan,
We don't have a sample test plan for the ABAP add-on certification. I can give you the main requirements for this certification.
    1) Certification starts with R/3 release 4.6
    2) Obtain an ABAP workbench development license from SAP
    3) Develop your component using your own registered namespace
    3) Must use Add-on Assembly Kit (AAK) for packaging and delivery your add-on component. The AAK is provided by ICC
    4) No direct INSERT/DELETE/MODIFY into standard tables; only use SAP endorsed interface technologies like BAPIs, released RFMs, released Idocs
If you are interested in the certification program, please contact [email protected]
