Solaris 9: LMS 3.2 SP1 (LMS 3.2.1) and CSCtn45425
the point patch for CSCtj01051 breaks Apache on Solaris 9 because libm.so.2 cannot be found (it exists on solaris 10 not solaris 9).
In the ReadMe of LMS 3.2 SP1 it states that CSCtj01051 is solved.
But does it take respect of CSCtn45425 also or will the installation of SP1 on solaris 9 break Apache ?

Problem: LMS 3.2 SP1 do not connect to CCO for software and device updates

When I try to check Software and Device packages updates for LMS components, it fails with "Error while downloading package information from Cisco.com for the selected products. See the d:/CSCOpx/log/psu.log file for details." diagnostics.
CSCOpx\log\psu.log shows that it fails with 404 error. Looking to wireshark capture, I see that software make GET to http://www.cisco.com, then GET to http://cco.cisco.com/cgi-bin/login, then GET to www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/WLAN/cwselectfile.cgi with some params, which result in "404 Not Found" error nevermind which product (Common Services, Campus Manager, RME, DFM or others) I try to get updates on.
Is there any patch or solution for it?have you installed the patch for bug ID CSCto46927, yet?

Hosted services in Cisco.com that are being leveraged by LMS, for downloading the latest Software and Device Package updates, as well as the PSIRT and End of Sale/Life information are being migrated to a new framework and the old services will be retired.
This will affect all LMS 3.x and 4.x versions.

LMS 3.2 SP1 RME showing no records in syslog report while same report in device center shows
Hi All,
I have LMS 3.2 SP1 running on windows machine, when i am generating 24 hours report(Standard) in RME i do not see any records, while in Device center in Device Diagnostic center, i can see the same report showing the logs. i have checked the sylog.log file, i can see the logs in it. I have restored the original database by Restoredborig.pl, the RME database also but no result.
I would appreciate quick reply in this matter as i am facing this issue since long time and tried all possible things.

Problems upgrading from LMS 3.0 to LMS 3.2 - the backup fails.
I'm upgrading from LMS 3.0 to LMS 3.2 on Solaris. I've met all of the prereq's, patches, etc. It keeps failing on the Backup...It claims I need 15 Gig for the backup. The backup directory I'm using (/opt/backup) has 35 Gig free, so that shouldn't be the issue.

I've tried this multiple times and each time it appears to fail on a different file/folder in the sw_images directory. This is our FTP directory where we store lots of IOS images for download. I've removed each of these files it errors out on and it keeps failing. I just removed all files from the sw_images folder and am trying the backup again now.
I'm attaching the backup.log which contains the failure information for each backup I've tried in the past two days.
My main question is...can I skip this backup somehow? I've got another LMS 3.0 system that I can export everything I need from. Skipping the backup isn't an option on the install/upgrade? It gives me the option to quit the install or try the backup again.

Migrating DFM data from LMS 3.1 to LMS 4.2.3
Hello, I need to migrate DFM alarm settings data from LMS 3.1 to LMS 4.2.3 and I want to use this method, http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/ciscoworks_device_fault_manager/3.1/user/guide/useAAD.html#wp1433848 , to extract the data from 3.1 and then inport it into 4.2.3.
I successfully performed it for IP settings, it was easy since the data format was the same.
But the format differs quite alot for Interface and Port data, here is an example:

It looks like I have convert interface names, sort and delete stuff to make it look the same.

INTERFACE:IF-hostname/17 MANAGED_STATE:MANAGED (or EXPLICITLY_UNMANAGED).
So what i did was use Notepad++ and regexp to filter out the needed data:
Search for: ^.+(INTERFACE.+$)
Replace with: \1
and then another replace for ";" with nothing.
Then I ended up with:
INTERFACE:IF-hostname/17 MANAGED_STATE:EXPLICITLY_UNMANAGED
which could be imported with the mentioned scripts in my original post. -
DFM Error after Upgrade from LMS 3.1 to LMS 3.2
Hi Cisco Community,
I have a big problem with the LMS Application Device Fault Manager 3.2.0 after an Upgrade from LMS 3.1 to LMS 3.2
The LMS upgrade finished without error.
The Alerts and Activities Diplay encountered an error with the following message:
"An exception occured.Please check the AAD.log file for further details"
You find the "pdshow" and "netstat" output and also the AAD.log, DeviceManagent.log, EPM.log, brstart.log and TISServer.log attached to this message
Everything else works fine.
A Cisco Daemon Manager restart doesn't fix this problem.
Any ideas to fix this problem?

I found a workaround for this error message at the release notes for the Cisco Unified Operations Manager.
The workaround is:
1.) net stop crmdmgtd
2.) Wait 15 minutes
3.) net start crmdmgtd
After completion of this workaround, I got the following output:

I already execute the following steps from the Cisco TAC to solve this problem.....without success.
Stop Daemons >>> net stop crmdmgtd from CLI.
Open windows explorer and go to \CSCOpx\databases\dfmFh. Delete dfmFh.log.
Go to \CSCOpx\databases\dfmFh> from CLI and run:
dbsrv10.exe -f dfmFh.db from CLI.
Similarly open windows explorer and go to \CSCOpx\databases\dfmEpm. Delete dfmEpm.log.
dbsrv10.exe -f dfmEpm.db from CLI.
Similarly open windows explorer and go to \CSCOpx\databases\dfmInv. Delete dfmInv.log.
dbsrv10.exe -f dfmInv.db from CLI.
Note : Please check a screen will pop up each time you execute these commands.
Then, Start daemons >>> net start crmdmgtd from CLI. -
Migrating data from LMS 3.2 to LMS 4.2
I`m trying to migrate data from LMS 3.2 (windows) to LMS 4.2 (linux) I have run the backup job which contains many directories, I have created a .tar file to be able to ftp to LMS 4.2 but cannot get it to un-tar. Anyone been in this same scenario before?
Share more details on what error do you see. Do you still have the old backup files, without tar? What tar utility are you using?
I can suggest to use the tar utility available within LMS. Go to NMSROOT/bin directory and use:
1. To create tar : tar -cv <filename> <source_files>
2. To untar : tar -xvf <file_name>
Being the same utility it may be good. Anyways, this seems less of an LMS issue. If possible use an WINSCP and copy the entire directory without compressing.

Here is a problem that has me confused. On a fresh Windows Server 2012 R2, I installed Exchange 2013 SP1. It was successful and for the first day everything was working well. I then installed all security updates. The next day, I could no longer log in to

My first guess is to reset the Outlook Address Book by using the Remove-OabVirtualDirectory Exchange commandlet. But I am not so sure this will work because Exchange worked for a day. Any help understanding what caused the problem (and thus help avoid it

Open Exchange Management Shell (EMS), and then run the following cmdlet to change the authentication method of the "owa" virtual directory to Windows authentication:

I did those commands. But remember, the original error I gave was related to the OAB virtual directory, not ECP or OWA. I also did the Remove-EcpVirtualDirectory, Remove-OabVirtualDirectory, and Remove-OwaVirtualDirectory commandlets and the corresponding
EcpVirtualDirectoryOabOwaVirtualDirecoty ones. I still cannot log in to the Exchange Admin Center. And I still have the same original generic unhelpful error message.
However, there are some changes. After I removed and re-added the virtual directories I no longer received the original error logs given above. I now get this log in the event viewer:

[Owa] Failed to load SSL certificate.

Ciscoworks LMS 3.2 SP1 upgrade issue
Dear all,
I've recently upgraded our CW 3.2 to 3.2.1 and I'm having a strange issue with HUM application registration with ACS. The privileges options such as 'Super Admin' etc are no longer there! All the privilege options for all of the other LMS components are there, it's just the HUM module! This is having a knock on affect on the server as Common Services DCR is now failing as it reports the System Indentity User configuration as not having all the privileges assigned!
Anyone else seen this?

ColSo I worked this out. I decided to try and re-register the Ciscoworks applications within ACS. The major issue was that Common Services just refused to talk to the ACS servers. I then remembered that we closed down the tcp port range on the ACS to a manageable number of sockets to firewall. This appartently is the issue, Ciscoworks registration with ACS wont work unless you re-open the port range! Once I did that Ciscoworks re-registered with ACS and I could re-register the applications and HUM was restored back to how it was!

LMS 3.2 SP1 - Syslog Report times out / CW14: NO HTTP response
Hi,
in Device Center I can´t start the Syslog Report, it opens a new Browser window and times out.
If I start the "Device Troubleshooting" from the Device Center, all checks are successful. Just the check "Syslog Message" show the error: CW14: NO HTTP response from Servername
I have LMS 3.2 SP 1 installed
I already re set the System Identity User and restarted the daemon, no success.
What should I check? Is it a known problem ?

In the dir "CSCOpx\databases\rmeng" the following files are very big.
So I started a immediate syslog purge job, but it failed.

I have a question on Captivate. Is it normal that when my client does a new time a validate lesson he observes that the only one result memoried is the last even if the first was ok (Complete and more than 80%) and the second is failed (Incomplete and less than 80%) ?
Can I do something on Captivate ?

AntoineThis should be controllable in the LMS settings. It's not controlled by Captivate.
Check your LMS for some setting related to how the Attempts are scored. Here is a snapshot from Moodle's SCORM attempt settings:
As you can see, the options are:
Highest attempt - which retains the best overall score from any attempt
Average attempts - calculates an average of all scores
First attempt -
Last attempt
So look for something like this in your LMS admin settings for the SCORM course. -

Indeed after I moved back the apps, they are now updating. I guess that's the trouble for being too anal.
One more thing, after iPhoto is updated, it still gives me a message "A photo has been found in the iPhoto library that was not imported", but if I click "Yes", nothing was imported, and there is a Recovered Photo folder, but it was empty.
Any suggestions on the fix?

Why does the default install make a partition for boot?
The installer, if one lets it prepare one's hard drive, makes a partition for boot, and formats it as a second extended filesystem. I know that people debate the need for/desirability of a partition for boot, and I do not mean to revive that debate.

Setting the Line size at runtime
