Solution Manager 3.2 installation on linux

Hi all,
I experience some problems when I install Solution Manager 3.2 on Redhat Linux AS 4 wtih ORACLE 9.2 (platform 64bits, X86_64). Actually i am installing the database instance and in the phase "Starting RFC Jobs" (phase 34 of 39) stop the installation and display the following error:
FRY-0001 Cannot load library iamodrfc.so: iamodrfc.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
The message is clear but i have not been able to get or to generate the file iamodrfc.so.
Another information about the installation:
The SAP kernel is SAP BASIS 6.40.
Server xSeries model 346
The central instance and the database software has been installed succesfully.
I appreciate any help about this problem.

Hi,
This library is part of SAPinst. Normally the case is that it is not available, corrupt or not appropriate for your platform.
I suggest that try to obtain the library by extracting SAPinst. You may extract SAPinst framework to any location by running SAPinst with -extract option just like :
<SAPinst location>/sapinst -extract .
By default when you start an installation SAPinst is extracted to /tmp/sapinst.exe<something>

Solution manager 7.1 installation in ECC 6.0 landscape

Dear All,
I am planning to install solman 7.1 SP04 in my landscape where the managed systems are running on ECC 6.0. SP 07(PRD, DEV,...).
Is it fine to start installation with current landscape or i need to upgrade the ECC version.
Any documents available regarding the technical system patch level requirements for Solution manager 7.1 installation.
Please suggest.

I try to install the solution Manager 4.0 SR4 in a vmware server Win2003 64bit
and get the following error message in phase 17 (import ABAP)

Hello shareef,
there is no extra recommendation from SAP regarding SolMan on vmware.
SAP supports installations on vmware wheanwhile also for productive systems (plse check PAM).
The experience I have for my installation:

I am getting the error in solution manager 3.2 installation . I am doing installation using system copy / backup restore method .
Getting ther following error -
"CJS-00084 SQL statement or script failed. DIAGNOSIS: Error message: SP2-0310: unable to open file

SOLUTION MANAGER 7.1 install on linux/oracle java error on ABAP IMPORT

Hello sdn experts, Im trying to install the Solution Manager 7.1 on linux/oracle, but It always stops at the abap import,
The error is in the Program "Migration Monitor", that exit with error.
Reviewing the logs, it seems that is trying to execute a java command line with a unrecognized option:
"Execution of the command "/opt/IBMJava2-amd64-142/bin/java -classpath migmon.jar -showversion -Xmx1024m com.sap.inst.migmon.imp.ImportMonitor -sapinst" finished with return code 1. Output:
JVMJ9VM007E Command-line option unrecognized : -Xjvm:j9vm23"
Usage : java [-options] class...
As you can see, the sdk used is from IBM, and it works for all other saps we have here.
Is the wrong jdk? Which I should use if its wrong?
If is the right jdk, how could I get rid of this option and change it?
Any idea would be appreciated.

Solution Manager 4.0 Installation Error

am doing the Solution Manager 40 installation on AIX as root.
FYI: We are using central SLD.
During the installation in phase 30 "check DDIC password"
Sapinst stops with the following error.
In sapinst.log the error is:

I found the solution..
There was a a problem in the timezone setting for the server.After changing it and rebooting it worked perfectely.

Hi Kais,
Installation on VMWare instance is a little unstable as I too faced a lot of issues similar to that. To solve your issue, please do copy all the installation media to the local VMWare instance itself and then start the installation, it will go through. Moreoever, to be on the safer side, do install JDK 1.4.2_09 or 10. Coz I faced issues when I tried with 1.4.2_12 and 13.

SAP Solution Manager 4.0 Installation

I install Solution Manager 4.0 and in the step Install database server software,i am requested to log on
as orasid and change to the directory
/oracle/stage/102_64/database/Disk1/SAP and run ./RUNINSTALLER.
Because the subdirectories /database/Disk1/SAP not exists and i can't run ./runsinstaller to install the database!

it is normally esay to install Oracle .
Normally , the sapinst should have extract Database
software in /oracle/stage/102_64/ ..
But off ocurse, at the beginning of the installation
sapinst ask u to locate RDBMS dvd.
so first :
check where the RDBMS have been extracted.
the standard path (for Oracle 10G for example) is
/oracle/stage/102_64/
then follow the INSt Guide,
connect orasid,
then
go to
/oracle/stage/102_64/database/Disk1/SAP
here, u will find RUNINSTALLER script.
dont forget to execute rootpre.sh befreo as mentioned in the guide.

On Solaris 10 platform...
We found that we could correct the problem by extracting the SAR file OCL10264.SAR from the client DVD into the client directory /oracle/client/10x_64 (which we had to create) and execute "ln -s instantclient_10202 instantclient" to create the symbolic link for the instantclient directory. Then the installation continued successfully.

I am installing Solution Manager 7.0. In Step 16 of 44 - Import ABAP, I encountered an error when the installer was testing the database connection. It failed at this command:

Solution Manager 3.2 Installation

Hi,
I am installing Solution Manager 3.2 on Windows Server 2003 and using MS SQL database. During the installation of using SAPInst, the installation program asked for a KERNEL DVD location (a Label.ASC file). I found one in my DVD/CD set which is SAP NETWEAVER 04 - SAP Kernel 6.40. However, it came back an error message that it required "MSSQL:AKK:6.40:KERNEL:.I386:". I could not find any DVD/CD which has a LABEL.ASC file match with the requirement. Does anyone know the solution for this issue?
