Solution Manager 3.2: SLD server connection is inactive SCDT_LIS_IF011

Trying to execute an automatic data transfer from SLD to Solution Manager 3.2 with transaction SMSY_SETUP, I have recieved the update log message:
The SLD server connection is inactive
Message no. SCDT_LIS_IF011
SLD Connection Test displayed:
No business system maintained in SLD
--> check data integrity within the SLD
We customized transactions SLDAPICUST,LCRSERVADDR, SMSY_SETUP->Edit->expert setting as requested in SAP documentation and definied technical, system and business landscapes in SLD (SLD server log: no errors found).
Some suggestions how to fix it?

Hello Christine,
due to the fact that we (up to now) have no need for a business landscape, we created one manualy to test if the check would get a bit further then.
We created a business landscape with the following settings:
Technical System: Web AS ABAP
System: <solution manager>
Business System Role: Application System
Related Integration Server: (no integration server defined)
Testing the Connection wit SLDCHECK we got this error message:

After install and test SLD into XI 3.0, I am trying to customizr a Solution Manager 3.1 to connecto with SLD using SYSM_SETUP. I configure RZ70, SLDAPICUST, and SMSY_SETUP->Edit->expert setting as requested in SAP documentation.

When executing SLDCHECK I get all checks with green status except:

Summary: Some non-fatal exception has occured, but connection to SLD works technically

Someone have some sugestion how to fix it??

    Hello,
    We met this problem too.
However, we solved the problem. In our situation, it was becasue the sldapiuser was locked on SLD. The following is our solution.
    1. logon to http://<sldhost>/<port>/sld to check the ID and password of the SLD user (e.g sldapiuser)
    2. fill in the user and password in /sldapicust
    3. go to /smsy_setup      Edit<<expert settings and then fill in the same user with the one you have in sldpicust
    4. check the SLD connection with /sldcheck
    Good luck!

  • SLD server connection is inactive

    Hi,
"SLD server connection is inactive is shown" by executing RSGET_SMSY
    SLDCHECK -> is ok
    SLDAPICUST -> is ok
    LCRSERVADDR  -> is set
SMSY_SETUP->Edit->expert setting     ->  testet with all Blank and with serveral user data
SLD is working fine by connecting via http !
We use a Solution Manager 7.1 with SLES 10
    Thanks

    Hi,
Could you please check, if the SMSY_SETUP expert settings are empty,
as LANDSCAPE_FETCH uses only SLDAPICUST transaction
    for connection data.
Maintaining expert settings at the same time will confuse the job.
Please make sure the alias & primary RFC destination are correctly set,
as well as checking that the user/password combinations are also valid.
Please review SAP Note 757204 regarding the SMSY-SETUP expert settings
    empty.

  • SMSY_SETUP: via SLD: "The SLD server connection is inactive"

    Hi folks,
setting up the Solman 4.0 and want to replicate our landscape from our System Landscape Directory.
I followed the instructions in SMSY, set the RFCs etc.
    - set the user / pw in SLDAPICUST
    - in SMST_SETUP, in the expert settings: put the right user (Administrator), host and port of the SLD
I checked customizing with transaction SLDCHECK ->everything ok, except it's coplanming that it cannot find settings for my Solman-client (yellow).
When triggering the Data transfer via SMSY_SETUP, "SLD", I get in the application log this error message:
"The SLD server connection is inactive",  (Message no: SCDT_LIS_IF011)
"Access the SMSY_SETUP transaction to check the connection data for SLD in the expert settings"
Has anybody an idea how to "activate" the SLD server connection?
I cannot find anything what I am missing there...
    Thanks

    Hello Christian,
Please check the following document in SAP Service Marketplace. It has been designed to tackle with some of the questions on system data exchange between SAP Solution Manager and SLD, with an overview on all required steps and guides as well as some tips and tricks.
It also contains answers on how to proceed when the SLD Server is inactive:
http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000538663&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000202&_OBJECT=011000358700000530282007E, see especially chapter 5. Answers to questions 1 and most probably to question 3 (in current document version on slide 7).
I hope this helps to solve your issues.

  • Syncronizing two Solutions Manager with One SLD

Hello Experts, we have this issue: I am having one Central SLD  in PI and one productive Solution Manager (new one) that is pointing to that SLD, for incidents we are managing another ¨productive¨Solution Manager (old one) . There is a new system that I need it in my SMSY in my old Solution Manager and the best way to do it would be to point that old Solman to the same SLD that the new one is pointing. my question is: I only have to set the SLD in the old solution manager in the RZ70 and add that Solution Manager in the Central SLD?, so I would end with two solution manager pointing the same Central SLD, it doesnt mess with my new productive Solution Manager SMSY?, I want to be sure that some trash data in the old Solution Manager wont be present in the new Solman that is pointing the Central SLD right now.
    Best Regards,
    Paul

    Dear Mr. Paul,
There are few things to understand:
    1. RZ70 is used to feed SLD with system information.
    2. landscape fetch job need to be scheduled within Solution manager system to update SMSY with the latest information available in SLD which you have configured during SOLMAN_SETUP.
Here with your description it is clear that you have central SLD at your PI system and your both Solution manager system ( New and Old) are connected to the central SLD.
Here what I understand if you want to add a new system say X in SMSY of your old solution manager.
In order to do so you need to configure your new system to the central SLD using RZ70. Once you did this, system details of your new system would be available with central SLD.
Now in next step to make that system available to your old solution manager, you need to rerun the smsy_setup job. This will referesh your SMSY and new system would be available in SMSY of your OLD solution manager.
In this case there is a catch. Since you have added the system to the central SLD, the new system X would also appears in the SMSY of your new Solution Manager as well once SMSY of new solman gets refreshed.
So if you just want to add this new system X to SMSY of your old solution manager only and not to the new one, you can add this system to the local SLD of old solution manager only not to the central SLD.
Also you need not to worry about the trash data available in your Old solution manager. It would not effect the central SLD if your local SLD of old solution manager is not synch with central SLD.
    Regards,
    Sachin

  • Solution Manager 4.0 & SQL Server 2005

I see in the documentation the step to install SQL Server 2005 with the 850 character set.  If I want to add the solution manager database to an existing instance (which uses the default char set), but give the database itself the 850 character set...will this cause an issue.  I have read some posts where this causes issues for other SAP products...but have not read anything specific to solution manager.  If this does cause issues, are there any workarounds, other than creating a new instance, changing the default char set for the entire instance, or finding a new db server?

    Dear John,
unfortunately there is no other solution. To ensure, that the database can work correctly it is necessary, that the SQL Server installation as well as all databases within the instance have the same collation. For new installations the SAP installation tools automatically use BIN2 as this will ensure compatibility with unicode. To find out which collation is installed for the server instance you can use the following query:
    select serverproperty('collation')
To find out the collation of a specific database you need to execute the following query:
    select databasepropertyex('<db-name>', 'collation')
The fact that the database collation and the server collation must match has nothing to do with the installed SAP Product - the two collations need to be the same in any case.
Please read SAP Note #600027 to find the necessary procedure for changing the server / database collation,
    hope this information helps you,
    kind regards,
    beate

  • Solution Manager and HP Quick Test Connection.

    Hello Gurus,
We want to use Solution Manager to make test for our developments, but our corporate tool for this is HP Quick Test.
As far as I know it's possible to connect Solution Manager to HP Quick Test. Does anybody know about it?
    Thanks in advance.

  • SLD server connectivity

i have read that a portal consultant is required to accomplish the task of connecting to SLD server by configuring HTTP connection parametres..
can anybody please explain what it is in detail
    thanks in advance
    krishna

Generally the portal doesn't need SLD, but if there's a web dynpro application running on the same instance, then that may require a Jco Destination to be configured.
If you look at the SLD data supplier service in Visual Admin on the portal instance, then you will see the connectivity parameters for sending the Web AS details to SLD.
    Cheers

  • Solution Manager 3.2 & SLD

    Hello everbody,
i installed Solution Manager 3.2 Abap System. I also want to use SDL. I have read different Guides but i cannot configure SDL. In some Posts in this Forum the people write something about J2EE Visual Administrator. But this Tool isn't installed on my System.
My Question: Is it even possible to use SDL with Solution Manager 3.2 Abap System? Or do i have to install an Java System? And if it's possible, where do i get the J2EE Visual Adminstrator?
    Hope you can help me.

  • SAP Solution Manager and SAP Production Server on Single Host

We are rolling out our new infrastructure using high end Solaris Servers that have plenty of grunt.
I am looking at running SAP Solution Manager 7 and SAP Netweaver 6 on the same HOST using two Oracle databases.
We will use 10g and have 2 separate  transport volumes for transports. The Development and test environments will be very similar.
Appreciate any advise or thoughts. We are not looking at virtualising this particular environment.

Technically you can do that - yes. I could also imagine in installing the ERP on the bare metal and the SolMan in a zone, together with a processor set you can limit resource usage and you´re totally isolated from your production environment and will so make sure that SolMan is not stealing necessary resources from your production environment.

please help me , what should i do ?
I am waiting for your positive response.
    Regards
    Shubh

    hi,
    You can try following ....
    For the job SEND_SYSTEM_RELATIONSHIP_TO_SUP
    Program : AI_SC_SEND_SYSTEM_RELATIONSHIP
    1. Up to Support Package 09:
    a) Start transaction SMSY.
    b) Choose Shft+F5.
    c) Select the system named in the message.
    d) Choose F6.
    e) Select the "System Data in SAP Support Portal" tab.
    f) Using the input help, fill the system number field with the correct system.
    g) Save the data.
    2. Up to and including Support Package 08:
    a) Start transaction SOLMAN_CONNECT.
    b) Select the system in question in the ID field and choose the filter pushbutton.
    c) Select the system and select "Create configuration".
    d) Fill the system number field using the input help with the correct system.
    e) For example, select the "BW GUI Connection" service type.
    f) Carry out all of the subsequent steps of the Configuration Assistant until you see the "Finish" pushbutton.
This establishes a unique relationship between your system in the Solution Manager and the system number in the SAP Support Portal. Problems no longer occur with this system when the SEND_SYSTEM_RELATIONSHIP_TO_SUPP job is next run. However, the problem may still exist for other systems (in these cases, you should follow the same steps).
Hope this will help to solve your issue..

  • Why do we install Solution Manager on Different Server

    Hi Everybody,
Please if anybody can help in clearing the doubt that why it is advisable to install Solution Manager on Different Server.
    Thanks in advance!!
    Pawan

    Thanks Juan. Got the answer.
Infact i was reading somewhere and got these points -
SAP Solution Manager is designed to run in a central u2018monitoringu2019 system at the customer site where all other SAP systems and mySAP solutions (satellite systems) are connected:
u2022 The entire Solution Landscape can be documented (u2018living documentu2019) in a central system (in fact several Solution Landscapes can be managed)
u2022 SAP and Non-SAP Systems can be modeled
u2022 All core business processes can be graphically assigned to all available productive systems in a solution landscape
u2022 All connected SAP systems can be monitored by the central SAP Solution Manager system
u2022 Satellite systems submit data via RFC / agents into the central system
u2022 The system with the SAP Solution Manager installed has a connection to SAPNet R/3 Frontend and the SAP Service Marketplace to communicate with SAP Support Back Office
The SAP Solution Manager serves as a platform that includes several features in one application. The strength of the SAP Solution Manager is the strong integration into the mySAP.com Solution and the optimal knowledge transfer SAP-Partner-Customer including central monitoring features, mainly focusing on core business processes. However, additional features and tools (Support Desk, SAP Note Assistant, MS NetMeeting,u2026) that are integrated in the SAP Solution Manager, also play important roles within a customeru2019s solution management.
It is important to understand that it is not necessary or useful to always have all integrated SAP Solution Manager components installed on one system. For example it is possible to install the SAP Solution Manager on one system and connect to another System where the Support Desk is installed. The SAP Solution Manager then only serves as a portal to jump to the included Support Desk system without notice.
If the customeru2018s main focus is the management of core business processes through service roadmaps and monitoring via SAP EarlyWatch Alert, Service Level Management (reporting) and so on, SAP recommends the SAP Web Application Server as the best choice for the SAP Solution Manager installation as it is also the platform for the SAP Solution Architect and has fairly small hardware requirements.

  • Need suggetions on Central SLD as Solution Manager!

    Hi Experts,
I need a help/ suggestion on deciding the Central SLD system in our landscape. We are using Solution Manager 7.01 as the Central SLD for the new Installations and including the old Systems too. But We came to know that SAP is not recommending using Solution Manager as Central SLD System. So please tell me, is it recommended or not and what problems may occur in future if we continue Solution Manager as Central SLD.

  • SMD-Monitoring on SAP Solution Manager Server host

    Hi!
Do I need also to install a SMD agent 7.00 on SAP Solution Manager server,
if I would like to set up SMD monitoring for SAP Solution Manager server itself?
    Thank you!
    regards
    Thom

NO, you dont need to deploy SMD agent. SMD Server Package on Solution Manager, SMD Agent on monitored system.
Do you really want to monitor the Solution Manager system(JAVA)? If so yes, install SMD on Solution Manager, if you dont, then just deploy LMSERVICE on Solution Manager(use Solution Manager as the SMD server).
Hope that makes sense or answers what you want. I dont know if you want to monitor Solution Manager, more like want SM to do the monitoring of your satellite systems.
