[SOLVED] GNOME 3.2 and Nautilus are Case Sensitive. What do?

I just migrated from KDE 4.8 to GNOME 3.2 since KDE 4.8 was giving me a LOT of trouble with Firefox (mostly with homebrewed browser scripts for Firefox, but that's my fault. I pacman -Syu'd blindly).
Anyway, when I use GNOME Shell, all my applications are sorted by case. For example, I scroll down, and I gedit all the way at the bottom, but I see nothing between the F apps and the H apps.
In Nautilus it's even more confusing. For example, I have my xdg-user-dirs (such as Desktop, Music, etc.) but my ~/builds directory is all the way down. The same goes for ~/scripts and ~/r9k.
I've checked /etc/profile and /etc/rc.conf, but I can't find anything that would give a clue as to WHY this is happening. Here's a wgetpaste from my /etc/profile and /etc/rc.conf if that helps.

I'm using bash too and this shell can source rc.conf just fine, it's the default shell on Arch.
We add support for /etc/locale.conf. The settings in this file takes precedence over /etc/rc.conf, and those who use shells that cannot source /etc/rc.conf are required to move to this new format.
It doesn't change anything for you and me (apart from that one-time manual intervention). You still can follow the Beginners' Guide on how to set up your locale.

rc.conf is sourced at boot.
Please follow lucke's advice, reboot and post the output of 'locale' and 'locale -a'.

Just wondering if you had any advice for my situation . . .
My time machine backup was backing up to a drive that was "Mac OS X Enteded Journaled, Case Sensitive." I had no idea what this meant, or that it would even cause issues.
I took my computer to the Apple store yesterday, and they wiped it clean. When they tried to restore it from the Time Machine backup drive, it would not work. Their guess is that Time Machine cannot restore from a drive that is "case sensitive."
Any thoughts on how I can convert my time machine backup data from a "case sensitive" state, to a "non-case sensitive" state? I've tried to just drag and drop the files from the case sensitive formatted drive to a new drive that I have that is formatted non case sensitive, but I get the following error message:
"The volume has the wrong case sensitivity for a backup"
I just really want my data back - I thought TimeMachine was the way to go (and was supposed to work) but unfortunately it is not.
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Example:In the restrict value range of the query screen.If we give for a particular field anything in capital letters/small it should take.

generally case sensivity is related to InfoObject Master Data.
Take a look via Tcode RSD1 to the master data of your InfoObject and check in first screen if flag for capitol letters has been marked.
If this is the situation it is a problem, because MAster Data in cube have been saved as different if are written like "Letter" or "LETTER".

Same as you would if you bought a pc; copy everything from your old computer to your new one. Then you can just sync everything from the new computer, as you did with the old one.

Based on what I am seeing in my iTunes, iTunes (7.7 - I'm one release behind) doesn't appear to be case sensitive. BUT, the iPod Touch has always been case sensitive (at least since 1.1.2, which was what was on mine when I got it in December).
I don't think there will be a way to "fix" it except to correct your data.

Reset the device. If it doesn't work try removing your account and adding it again. If that doesn't work then try restoring the device to factory settings by pluggin into iTunes and clicking "Restore".

Don't know. Could be any number of reasons. Re-read the how to install RAM manual again for your model iMac. Double & triple check to make sure you purchased the right RAM chips. Make sure they are seated properly. If you didn't hear a snap when seated, the RAM is not properly seated.

[SOLVED] Gnome problems still here, nautilus, and no regular session

After updating today I now I can't open a normal gnome session- only a failsafe session. the ~/.xsession errors show:

This happened before and after I added the line
"AutostartCondition=GNOME /apps/nautilus/preferences/show_desktop"
to /usr/share/applications, and changed X-GNOME-AutoRestart=true to =false as a workaround to the nautilus respawning problem here http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=69219 .
BTW, it stopped the respawing, but Nautilus now will not launch either from menus or command line. I get this at command line:

OK- I think I've SOLVED all my Nautilus problems, which included the endless respawning "Starting Filemanager windows" on the panel, the hal daemon related GDM 3 for 1 key repeat prevents login problem, and the Nautilus refusing to launch problem!
After reviewing the Gentoo Hal documetation, and realizing I had the xf86-input-evdev driver installed on Arch, I had forgotten that in order to get the mouse/keyboard to function I had to previously add a line in xorg.conf that was now conflicting with hal/dbus and the new xorg server version.
I just commented out this line in xorg.conf, like this
Section "ServerFlags"
# Option "AllowEmptyInput" "false"
Option "DontZap" "false"
EndSection
and added the hal daemon (which calls dbus) to my /etc/rc.conf, which allows evdev/hal/dbus to do it's thing.
Along with the edits to the /usr/share/applications/nautilus.desktop file (which is strangely named "File Manager" in Thunar, one of three files of the same name). The edits made are:
X-GNOME-AutoRestart=false # changed from =true
AutostartCondition=GNOME /apps/nautilus/preferences/show_desktop # added this line
Now, I can boot from GDM into a normal gnome session, and Nautilus launches normally, without endlessly repawning itself in the panel.
The fix itself was quite simple, but tracing the cause down and understanding it was not!

[SOLVED] gnome 3 look and feel

Hello all,
I did a fresh install of arch and gnome 3 last night. I am currently running on fallback mode, prefer that mode to the new interface. The question I have is, is it possible to easily customize/theme Gnome 3 Fallback in Arch to change some characteristics?

however some things don't seem to work yet. I followed the steps to move the window buttons (close, minimize, maximize) to the left of the window, however the buttons remain on the right.
I would also like to install an icon theme set, I like the shiki colors in themes, and like the linux mint green. I'm not sure how to install those, tried the repos, but that didn't work.
I would also like to see if there is a way to theme the windows, changing title bar color and close, max, min icons.
A co-worker just installed Linux Mint 12, and is running their Gnome Classic mode, which appears to be fallback mode (I assume), and he can change the themes to icons and windows easily. Any way to do this in Arch?

Installing your themes, icons, etc. is really simple. Themes should be installed into /usr/share/themes - all that you need to do, is download your theme (un-archive the file), then it is as simple as opening a terminal;
sudo cp /path/of/your/theme /usr/share/themes
This will copy the theme to /usr/share/themes, where Gnome-tweak-tool (and also user-theme extension) can see your themes. The next time you open Gnome-tweak-tool your new theme should be available.
In the Archwiki for Gnome, it also explains how to install icon themes, it works pretty much the same way;

As far as i know, there is no simple gui tool to install themes/icons in Gnome3. They probably should have carried that feature over from Gnome2, but obviously (for some odd reason) decided not to bother.
As for your mint themes, just copy them over to /usr/share/themes ...

Table and Primary Key Case Sensitive in Automated Row Fetch

Why are the table and primary key fields case sensitive in the Automated Row Fetch process? I'm debugging an error in this process and I'm not sure what the case should be.

Russ - It's a defect of sorts. Use upper case in the process definition. I don't think these processes will work with tables or columns whose names are not known to the database as upper-case values, i.e., defined using double-quoted non-upper case.

Hi, I did not understand your problem exactly, but I am sending you an sample query according to my understanding.
select <fields names> from <tablename> where name = '%xxx'.
here % is used for searching for all the names which ends with 'xxx'
If you give some more details briefly then I can try for you.

Being a lousy typist, it causes me a lot of troubles (all recoverable).
Please consider removing keyword case-sensitivity.

The search function is NOT case sensitive. Since it isn't case sensitive, I don't see the need for case sensitivity anyplace. It just cause problems on entry.
Say I have existing keywords:
Birds
Eagles
Bald
Golden
If I enter the keyword "Bald" in the Keywording panel to an image of a Bald Eagle it gets categorized correctly. If I accidentally enter "bald" a new keyword is created at the top of the hierarchy.
If I then enter "bald" or "Bald" in the Find panel all Bald Eagles are found. It also finds "Mt. Baldy". Because of this, I usually just click the keyword "Bald" to find my Bald Eagle images. If I have made a mistake, my search is incomplete.
To correct the mistake, I have to correct the error in the Keywording panel and then delete the bad keyword...not so bad if I notice it right away...which I usually don't. I periodically scan the list for incorrect keywords at the top of the hierarchy.

one option to find the difference is you have to look for parameters like test run or commit .
If the function module doesn't have them, then it means you have to use BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT or BAPI_TRANSACTION_ROLLBACK based on the success or failure.

My Mac and iPad are not syncing. what am I doing wrong?

my mac mini and ipad are not syncing with the icloud. If I plug the ipad into the computer it syncs calendar info from the computer to the ipad, but not the ipad to the computer. i want it to sync without having to plug it in.
