[SOLVED] libgtop-2.30.0-1 no longer contains libgtop-2.0.so.7?

Hey All,
I use Psensor and it seems it requires libgtop-2.0.so.7 but when I check to see if I have libgtop installed, it says that I do.
Has the updated version of the software stopped creating this wonderful shared object file? And if so, what temperature monitoring devices do you guys recommend? I do love my Psensor though... T_T

WARNING: failed to install schema `/schemas/apps/psensor/graph/alpha_channel_enabled', locale `C': Unable to store a value at key '/schemas/apps/psensor/graph/alpha_channel_enabled', as the configuration server has no writable databases. There are some common causes of this problem: 1) your configuration path file /etc/gconf/2/path doesn't contain any databases or wasn't found 2) somehow we mistakenly created two gconfd processes 3) your operating system is misconfigured so NFS file locking doesn't work in your home directory or 4) your NFS client machine crashed and didn't properly notify the server on reboot that file locks should be dropped. If you have two gconfd processes (or had two at the time the second was launched), logging out, killing all copies of gconfd, and logging back in may help. If you have stale locks, remove ~/.gconf*/*lock. Perhaps the problem is that you attempted to use GConf from two machines at once, and ORBit still has its default configuration that prevents remote CORBA connections — put "ORBIIOPIPv4=1" in /etc/orbitrc. As always, check the user.* syslog for details on problems gconfd encountered. There can only be one gconfd per home directory, and it must own a lockfile in ~/.gconfd and also lockfiles in individual storage locations such as ~/.gconf

  • [SOLVED] systemd-tmpfiles-clean takes a very long time to run

I've been having an issue for a while with systemd-tmpfiles-clean.service taking a very long time to run. I've tried to just ignore it, but it's really bothering me now.

    systemd-tmpfiles --clean 11.63s user 110.37s system 10% cpu 19:00.67 total
I don't seem to have anything funky in any tmpfiles.d:
    # ls /usr/lib/tmpfiles.d/* /run/tmpfiles.d/* /etc/tmpfiles.d/* | pacman -Qo -
ls: cannot access /etc/tmpfiles.d/*: No such file or directory

How do I debug why it is taking so long? I've looked in man 8 systemd-tmpfiles and on google, hoping to find some sort of --dubug option, but there seems to be none.
Is it some how possible to get a list of the directories that it looks at when it runs?
Anyone have any suggestions on how else to fix this.
    Anyone else have this issue?
    Thanks,

Thank you very much falconindy. SYSTEMD_LOG_LEVEL=debug helped my find my issue.
The cause of the problem was thousands of directories in /var/tmp/ created by a test suite with a broken clean up method. systemd-tmpfiles-clean was recursing through these, but not deleting them.

I added radeon.new_pll=0 to my kernel boot line in grub.cfg and added
    options radeon new_pll=0
    in /etc/modprobe.d/radeon.conf
However when I boot I get an error which says radeon: Unknown parameter 'new_pll=0' and then X wont start, any idea why this might be happening? i've been trying to solve this problem for quite some time.

  • [SOLVED] upgraded to Systemd, BCM4312 wireless no longer working

    Hello,
I just finished upgrading my netbook to Systemd, and to my dismay the wireless stopped working.
    lspci -vnn | grep 14e4 reveals that I have a Broadcom BCM4312 LP-PHY rev01.
I believe I was using the Linux kernel driver before with no issues, but now I have tried loading brcmsmac and it's not working.
The kernel driver used to load automatically.
iwconfig shows nothing with a wireless extension, and ip link doesn't even show my wireless NIC. I don't see any issues in journalctl as far as I can tell.
    B43 and SSB are blacklisted.
Has anyone else had this problem since upgrading? Any ideas?
I would prefer the linux driver vs broadcom-wl if it can be avoided.
    Thanks,

Are your vendor ID:Product ID not 14e4:4315  ??  That device is supported by b43.  I would not consider using anything but the b43 driver.
Regardless. be aware that your device probably changed names and may no longer be wlan0.  Perhaps that is your real problem.
Were I you, I would reconfigure to again use b43, then check the output of ip link do find your device names.

Two weeks ago I purchased a Raspberry Pi and set up my own SD card with Arch Linux ARM using the directions at http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv6/raspberry-pi with the internal SD card reader on my laptop and had no issues.  Today I decided to load up a XBMC distro to a new SD card, but my internal card reader doesn't seem to autodetect or mount my new card.  I tried inserting my other card with Arch ARM that I know is a good card, but it no longer works with that card either.  Here are all my logs that I could think of to post for any advice:

  • [solved] usb-storage-devices (sticks) are not longer mapped via citrix

    Hello,
at work we have linux-clients (Arch, Plasma5, updated weekly) connected to a computing center (Win 2008 Servers) via citrix-receiver. In the past, usb-storage-devices were mapped, so we could acces them in Win. Now, they are not longer mapped. I can't say, since when. USB-Sticks are not in daily use. The computing center says, nothing has been changed there. So can someone help me to fix this issue?
    Found solution myself: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ud … udisks2.29

  • [solved] KDE 4.11 Terminal does no longer work

After updating to KDE 4.11 (among other packages) the terminal/console does no longer work. It's still loading, but basically I can only see a blank and that's it.
I already moved the .kde4 folter because that has lead to problems in the past when updating to new version of KDE 4 but that didn't do it.
    Any ideas appreciated, thanks!

  • [SOLVED] S.M.A.R.T short/long tests failed

When I try to launch either short or long test to my hard drive, it stops at 10% saying: "FAILED". Any ideas? I know it has some bad sectors.
Also does anybody knows how to repair uncorrectable and pending sectors marked by s.m.a.r.t? If so, which tool?

Buy a new drive and replace this one ASAP. No, seriously. Even if it works for now, it's going to spiral into a nightmare sooner or later. If you really want to, you can use tools like badblocks or hdrecover to prolong it's agony, but it's still going to fail.

  • [SOLVED]Cannot mount partitions with PCMANFM --no longer an issue

    Hi,
I have searched and searched and pulling my hair out on this issue. I am using PCMANFM .9.10 on an LXDE install using the Arch x86 iso.  My HD contains several linux partitions and a FAT32 partition.
I am not able to mount these partitions in PCMANFM.  I am able to mount my usb flash drive
When trying to mount a partition in PCMANFM I get a "not authorized to perform operation" error message.
Today, June 11 I partially rewrote this due to the lack of response I am getting on this problem.
    1. did a reinstall of Arch & LXDE today.  I've done two or three installs. dbus is in daemons in /etc/rc.conf
    2. initially the partition icons did not show up
    3. then, I installed gvfs and added 55-my-conf.pkla in /etc/polkit-1/localauthority/50-local.d/
    4. With that the partition icons show up in PCMANFM
    5. But I still get the "not authorized to perform operation" message
    The 55-my-conf.pkla has this content:

mount a system-internal disk at <allow_active> from "auth_admin_keep" to "yes".
    Still didn't work!
Either this is a bug or I have a permission problem somewhere.
Can you please advise how to do this or point me to a recent tutorial to be able to  auto mount other partitions not using /etc/fstab?  Some of the older posts refer to hal or other package that have been deprecated.
    Thanks
Edit: latest. It seems that I must mount the desired partition from the terminal. example: $sudo mount /dev/sda5 /mnt
then can edit it from PCMANFM by going to / and then /mnt. Apparently I do not have to manually unmount.

I'm using a 2006 32 bit MacBook, with KDE Plasma 5.2 as my GUI. The problem began about 2 weeks ago, but I'm unable to pinpoint the software update that started this.
Suspending has also become a problem because when my laptop wakes up from sleep mode, nothing happens (the system is inaccessible over the network, display never comes on, no log entries are added to the journal). The usual solution, hold down the power button. I can say that this isn't a hardware problem because suspend/wakeup works perfectly on OSX and Windows.
    Any help will be appreciated.

Either keep trying the new kernel versions as they filter down or switch to the 3.14 LTS kernel (if that works).
I'll do that, thanks for the help.

  • [Solved] Does pymp's .desktop file no longer work?

Hey guys, I installed pymp last night, and the ,desktop entry didn't appear in XFCE's menu. Can anyone confirm this? If there's something wrong with the desktop entry I'd like to fix it...
Edit: N/M, it works. No idea what happened the first time.

Is everyone using the same version of Reader?
We are all using the latest Reader
Is the content static (not a form or interactive in any way)?
    Yes
When you say it doesn't show the content, what exactly do you see?
The page loads as if the content will show, even the percentage of loading circle works, yet nothing shows so we just see the frame of the page, but just a blank white area where the content should be.
How are these people getting the pdf from you?
From a web based url, uploaded to our server.
How is your staff opening it (online, on their hard drives...etc?)
Clicking on the link and allowing it to download into the Reader window, as it's always worked.

  • Pdf files no longer contain page info

Saving copies of web pages (e.g., financial documents) in 2005 printed headers with URL, and the footers had the date and time. Sometime in 2005 this info was no longer being 'printed' as a part of the pdf. I would like to have this info as a part of the document, but none of the preferences (for Safari, Firefox or OS X 10.3.9) has anything to do with including the info in the pdf. Neither Safari 1.3.2 nor OS X 10.3.9 seems to have the ability to provide this data in the *Get Info*.
My question is How do I get this info as part of the pdf again-- without changing my OS? (With the iMac's limited RAM this is not a viable option for me.)

    Hi,
Have you tried changing the Adobe Reader preferences
to not use Reader as the plugin for web browsers? The
option to enable/disable is in the Internet section
    of the Reader preferences.
Thanks for your advice..I went into the Reader's preferences and unchecked the top box designating Reader to open pdf files. I went back and tried to download another pdf text and got this message: "attempted to load an Internet plug-in named “Adobe Acrobat and Reader Plug-in”, but the plug-in failed to load successfully."
    Got any other thoughts?
