[SOLVED] Make Totem media player use Adwaita White instead of Dark

I do not like the dark variant of adwaita that totem uses as default. I have tried messing with gtkrc-3.0 but have had no luck. I figure out how to change this in Ubuntu 11.10 but forget how. I booted into it but could find out what I had done.

Solved. In Aldabra (gtk2 port of Adwaita) I put the css files with dark in the filename to a subfolder called backup and did the same with Adwaita.

    Joseph,
I have been looking a bit more and have found a few examples that seem similar to what you are looking to do. Here is an example of video streaming using USRP RIO or FlexRIO https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-40747. I also found an example of doing wireless streaming of video https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-22728. Sorry I was unable to find these in my first post; I hope they help!

  • How to make Adobe Media Player work online?

    Hello,
I have Adobe Media Player. When I launched before, I was able to see the content. Nowadays, it showing just blank screen saying "You must be online to view this content" Although JavaScripts already enabled on my safari web browser and my personal firewall is On.
p.s firewall was always On When I was able to see adobe media player content!
I would like to know if anyone tell me how to make it online?
    Thank you.

The flash add-on is not available for Safari on iOS. Never has been and in fact Adobe has ceased support for flash for mobile devices in general. Your options, depending on the specific sites:
See if the site or sites in question have their own apps availabel in teh app store
Look into some browsers such as Puffin adn iSwifter (there are others, I beleive). These browsers use a third server site to translate the flsh content into a form that the iPAd can use and restreams them to you. They may not work with all content.
Use a computer capable of running flash.
Seek a source of the conent that is designed for non flash use.

  • OSMF media player used in Muse

    Hi,
I'm creating a password-protect site in Muse where people can login and then watch videos.  I've been using the OSMF media thing:
    http://osmf.org/dev/2.0gm/setup.html
But I realize that because this is Flash based, it will not work on Android and iPhone devices.  The videos I've been making are hosted on the server and I made .F4V video files, then used the OSMF to add them to the Muse web page.
I could make the videos MP4 but I guess I'd also have to make the OOB and web4 (sorry I can't remember those other file names) to make it all work(?)
Is there some kind of "media player" where if I  add to the web page all devices including Android and mobile will work?  And hopefully without having to create those other 2 video file types?
    Thanks for any assistance.

Strobe was used to verify that the problem was not with my OSMF implementation. Since the results were the same, I am more supsicious of OSMF itself or the underlying AIR framework than the player implementation. Either way, the information I've seen says that progressive download of h.264 video is supported on mobile devices with AIR. It would appear that this is not true in all cases.
The issue has not been observed on not occur on the desktop. It only occurs with StageVideo enabled playback with autoplay on.
In the actual product the videos play one at a time. Once the user has finished with a video, the player clears the references to the media. These are OSMF calls; the media assigned to the player is nulled. If this is not sufficient for garbage collection, then I am at a loss as to how to proceed. My test uses four videos that are roughly 1 MB. If there is a memory use problem, then it would appear something is broken in AIR or OSMF.
I want to be sure I report this correctly. The code involved is more than a snippet, it's a media player designed to be embedded in an app. Do I need to include the complete implementation or will a description be sufficient?

    HI Martin,
i am not realy sure what you want!?!?
i think you want to display only a part of the values you read from XYZ
    so what you can do:
write all the values in an array.
the size of the array is the max. value of the slide bar
now you can select a part of the array (e.g. values from 100 to 200) and display this with a graph
the other option is to use the history function of the graphes

  • Advice on how to make Windows Media Player play DVD's not the Tosh player

I do not want to use the pre-installed Toshiba Media Player to play DVD's, I want to use the installed Windows Media Player. I cannot change the default DVD player to WMP in Control Panel as the only options are either Toshiba's or Nero's player.
WMP can play CD's, MP3's etc but cannot even read any DVD in the drive. Anyone got any advice on how to do change this?
It;s a Toshiba Satellite Pro C850 with Windows 8 installed

The free KLite Codec pack which equips the OS including Media Player for DVD decoding, thus all your currently and even most future installed players. http://codecguide.com/
It comes in varying sizes but even the smallest version enables WMP for DVD's
After installing KLite, you right click the DVD drive within Windows and select the "Open With" or "Play Disc" menu option and select Windows Media Player.
You can also just use the Windows Run Box / Search box and enter
    dvdplay
which activates windows Media Player DVD menus.
Microsoft hasn't always included DVD playback in Windows and then started offered it as a fee based upgrade for XP and Vista, before finally including DVD playback in Windows 7 in what some Microsoft insiders said was an apology for Vista before removing it again in Windows 8.

  • E72 Optical Key seems to make the Music Player use...

... given that if you go anywhere near it, it jumps towards the start of the track. However, if you disable it, then you can't focus the camera. Any workarounds?
And while we're on the topic of the Music Player, I find it pretty bad that you can't exit out of the application and then have it pick up playing where you left off. I don't mean let it keep going in the background - I mean actually leave the Music Player. This seems like pretty basic functionality. Makes listening to podcasts on the phone very tedious. Am I missing something? Is there a way to pick up where you left off?

I suppose I've been spoilt by having a previous phone with dedicated music player buttons. I wish there was a way to have this on the E72 although I realise that media playing isn't the focus of the phone.
As for autofocus with the optical key off - I know that you can still take the photo, but you can't pre-focus and then decide not to take the photo at all. Maybe not a biggie but still an annoyance.
Sometimes the optical key creates more problems than it solves. As I've said in another post, I'm pretty sure it's responsible for moving the cursor in Maps without any input at all.

  • SharePoint 2013 Media Player using UNC path directly without using a Website in IIS (either out of the box or custom player using javascript only)

    Hi,
There isn't much info on this and I am hoping its possible.
I have come across the following article which explains how we can setup SharePoint 2013 Asset Library using video links using a website in IIS that is mapped to a UNC path.
    http://stevemannspath.blogspot.com.au/2012/12/sharepoint-2013-videos-in-sharepoint.html
This is great. However we have an issue where I work and I need somehow to get SharePoint mediaplayer to point to a video directly using the UNC path like :- \\WINSP13\TempVideos\NTV_Carr_Indig.wmv without the use of a website in IIS.
I understand that we won't be able to stream the video then thats ok.
when trying to add a video link to an asset library using the UNC path, we get the following error: We don't support
playing a video of that format from a file share.
Is there a way or a workaround to do this? we are using only javascript to do this (AngularJS or any custom Javascript player such as MediaElement)
    Thanks
    Kind Regards,
    Will

From a SharePoint architecture perspective, this is a BAD design, since you are rerouting the communications (from the client to the UNC) away from and outside of SharePoint... as a result, SP cannot provide any level of guarantee about the ability for videos
to play on the client machine.
Secondarily, I'm not sure that the browser will let you pull resources from such different locations (doing so has been the root of several type of attacks, such as "Cross Site Scripting").
That said (and assuming the browser lets you), you can always use JS to handle creating the video player HTML and setting the UNC location... instead of using a site asset library to store the links, just create a list for the videos

  • How do I get a TYPE_BYTE_BINARY using blue/white instead of black/white

Im loading bi-tonal tiffs into a bufferedimage using imageio, plugin from jai. These bufferedimage come out as TYPE_BYTE_BINARY. The default for the two colors is black and white. I am trying to change it to blue and white without changeing the type. Anyone have any clues how to go about doing this?

image I used came out fuzzyIt is not color conversion issue. Solution is two fold:
    (1) You should do proper pre-process on the original image before conversion.
(You might have to enhance the sharpness of the image.)
    (2) You should do proper dithering on the resultant image after conversion.
(BufferedImage per se doesn't do dithering. ConvolveOp or LookupOp could be used, I have no experience on them though.)

  • Is there a way to export webpage to XML then use the results in a media player form.

    Hey, All!
I have currently learnt to make a media player using AxWindowsMediaPlayer but I had a new approach to how I want my media to be accessed. I have set up a website on a remote server hosting my .mp3 files, Is there a way to export my website to XML or some
other form and use the remote locations into a playlist instead of having the files locally?
When I load up my project I want the form to load the website through Webbrowser protocol loading into my site that has links to music / videos / .ect is there a way if I access my music page with direct .mp3 that I can somehow export all the direct links into
a format that can then use my media player to play the remote files ? I dont want to manually add each .mp3 considering there is quite a few.

    Hi 321System123,
Based on your description, I'm afraid that it is not the correct forum for this issue, it would be the specific app development issue.
If it is the WinForm app, you could post this issue to the following forum like
    this case:
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=winforms
But if it is related to the web, maybe the ASP.NET forum would be better for this issue:

  • How do I force Safari to use Windows Media Player as my default WMV player.

I am subscribed to a educational program called "the Epson Online Experience", and the entire program is in Windows Media Player videos. I was using Safari and Mac OS 10.3.9 with no problem what so ever, until Quick Time updated itself. Now I can't get WMP to play at all in Safari, or in Camino or IE either. The browsers just keep trying to play the link in Quick Time.
I did download Flip4Mac, but with no luck. The links now appear to open, appear to be downloading the buffer, but will stay on that screen for hours if I allow it.
Does anyone know how to make Windows Media Player the default media player in Safari? or for that matter, in Camino (or if I MUST, I guess I would be willing to try it in IE too if I could make it work.
    Thanks for the help!
    Jodan

Welcome to Apple Discussions. Your post seems to have been lost in a sea of Safari problems.
Usually items triggering media players create a file, which is downloaded into your system. Check your download folder for the file. If you can't find it, access the same file again via Safari.
Once you locate the file on your HD, click on it. Then, command key + I will bring up the info panel for the file (or simply select "more info" in the preview panel if you're in the finder's column mode). Go to the bottom where you'll see "open with". There, you see "quicktime" listed as the app. for opening the file. Click on the drop down menu and find the Windows player and select it.
Back to the info. panel - select "change all". This will revert all files of this type on your HD, plus future files to the Windows Media Player. Double click on the file to activate the video. Future selections in Safari will automatically open the correct media player. One other note, for the player to open automatically, you must check "open safe files after downloading" in your Safari Preferences>General panel.
    Post back with results.

  • Safari with Windows Media Player cannot use PHP as filename/src/url

I'm running Windows XP Pro SP2 with Windows Media Player 11
and Safari 3 public beta. In addition to being the absolute
slowest browser among MSIE, Firefox, Netscape, and Opera, the
Safari browser has two annoying WMP defects.
    1) Even with WMP 11 installed, the code below for embedding
can use either the classid for WMP v6.4 or v7+ but Safari
(or rather it's plugin) always displays a v6.4 looking UI.
All other browsers display the media player using the v11 UI
    2) Safari will not download the movie if the "filename" param
is a web url (e.g. getmovie.php?select=1234 ) rather than the
precise name of the movie file itself (e.g. "movie.wmv"). The
other browsers may differ in use of the param name="xxxx", where
xxxx is "filename" or "src" or "url" or "data" ... but Safari
will not work using any of these.
Has anyone successfully embedded a WMP object that uses the
URL as a PHP page (or other server-side script) ? I have already
my server-side PHP code that works perfectly for MSIE, Firefox,
Netscape, and opera. Safari is the only problem browser.

I have run into several issues pointing to what you are describing...
I fixed my Safari by installing the WMP plugin. I am able to view visualizations embedded into a webpage, one of which I created...I am able to view videos and so on.. Before I installed the plugin, All that would load is a place holder which looked like the old WMP and would not function properly. However this is what is displayed beside the media which is embedded.
I think that I got the plugin by going to the download page for Safari and looking for plugins. Funny thing was that the plugin that I installed was the one for Firefox on its site that nobody every installs because Firefox gets the plugin if you already have WMP11 installed. Anyway this should solve your problem...with most..
I have noticed just now that PHP served links or applications which launch in their own window and are protected by PHP script do work but still display a lack of functionality showing the Version 6.4 that you are speaking of. I checked it out using the KDGE Live Stream which opens another window, and displays version 11 properly ( in other browsers ), the link which is served is also protected and will close any media player that tries to play it on its own. It soley depends on the script which is coded into the page or window for the player. I can see this method as useful for a corporation as large and well advertised as ClearChannel Productions, because of the lack of bandwidth and cost to the company. Several sources do this and it winds up being an issue for the website administrator and designers to take care of, or update the script, or the person who has written the plugin, which could be from a number of resource; this particular instance would be the author of the WMP Plugin for Firefox.
For any other purpose though the plugin I mentioned above should get rid of ( MOST ) of that problem.
