[solved] Using xprop to set a property

xprop(1) has a "-set" option. I can't figure out how to use it. The "surf" browser is scriptable by setting a property named "_SURF_URL" to the URL you want it to load. I've tried these:
$ xprop -id 14680096 -set _SURF_URL http://www.google.com
xprop: error: unsupported conversion for _SURF_URL
$ xprop -id 14680096 -f _SURF_URL STRING -set _SURF_URL http://www.google.com
xprop: error: Bad format: STRING.
(The "id" is the one printed by "surf -x", and is correct, since I can use it to read properties.)
How do I use this?

The -f option isn't that straightforward... see the description of 'format' and 'dformat' in xprop(1).
This should work:
xprop -id 14680096 -f _SURF_URL 8s -set _SURF_URL http://www.google.com

Setting nonProxyHosts property not working

How do you set the nonProxyHosts property for Jrockit 1.5.0_11. We are trying to set this property for Aqualogic ESB which is using Jrockit by setting this property in net.properties under Jrockit but it does not seem to honor it. It seems to pick up proxyHost property though.

Well the issue is when I run the installSvc.cmd to install Aqualogic as a service and I am setting environment variable JAVA_OPTIONS with -DnonProxyHosts with a pipe (|) delimited list (e.g host1|host2|host3), but the script barfs and I think it does not like pipe symbol. May be this is more of a Aqualogic question than a JRockit one, or may be a windows script. Do you know if I need to escape the pipe symbol somehow? I tried escaping it with ^ but that did not help.

Set trigger property using JDAPI

Hi.
I have a couple of forms I need to modify using JDAPI. Among others I need to set trigger property "Fire in enter query mode" from no to yes. But I just cant find the way how to do this.
Any help would be appreciated.

Set system property using -D flag that references another system property

I'm interested in doing something like the following
java -Dmy.prop=${user.home}/.tmpdir
Setting the property in Java code is not an option.
Can this be done?

The only way I think you could do this is to ask the os for this value.
i.e windows: $HOMEDRIVE\$HOMEPATH
java -Dmy.prop=$HOMEDRIVE\$HOMEPATH\.tmpdir
linux: ~
java -Dmy.prop=~/.tmpdir
Or to use a small java application to return the value into the command line:
java -Dmy.prop=$(java HomeDir)/.tmpdir

How to use Oracle jdbc driver fixedString property?

Oracle pads values in char columns so if I insert "a" in a CHAR(2) column then I cannot get that record by comparing that column to "a", I should get it by comparing it to "a ". Right?
To solve this problem the Oracle jdbc driver has the property fixedString but I cannot make it work. (look for fixedString here )
I'm using ojdbc14.jar driver for Oracle 10gR2 and accessing an Oracle 10gR2 database.

The above code executes fine (no exceptions thrown) but the ResultSet is empty after executeQuery().
If I change the line (*) for

Then I get the column I wanted. So it seems the driver is ignoring the fixedString option.
I've also tried changing the line (*) for
ps.setObject(1, "abc", java.sql.Types.CHAR);
But the ResultSet I get is empty again. What am I missing?

By using the tool Support Desk -> Portal Content Directory -> PCD Administration you can do this. Please note that this tool should only be used in debugging situations.
There is a new section "Release a Unit from the cache cluster wide" in this tool. With this new functionality, you can remove an object from the cache on all nodes in the cluster. If the object is still in use, it will be reread immediately from the database
Releasing the entire PCD cache can severely affect performance. Hence, if there are inconsistencies suspected with a single object, e.g. a role or an iview, the new section "Release a Unit from the cache cluster wide" can be used to evict the given object from the cache on all nodes in the cluster.

tables: specify the table.

select-options: if any.
PARAMETERS:
p_file LIKE rlgrap-filename.

OPEN DATASET fname FOR OUTPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT.
*OPEN DATASET fname FOR OUTPUT IN BINARY MODE.
LOOP AT t_... INTO fs_....
write:/ .....
TRANSFER fs_... TO fname.
or
TRANSFER t_... TO fname
ENDLOOP.
CLOSE DATASET fname.

Here i tried to set a Custom Property "*-Duser.dir=E:/MyDirectory*" through the Admin Console.
NOTE: Setting any Option like JAVA_OPTIONS/CLASSPATh etc through Admin Console will work only when you start your Servers using the NodeManager. It means when you start your ManagedServers through AdminConsole...or Using nodeManager based WLST scripts.

How to use BAPI_OBJCL* to set classification data for Techn. Objects - PM ?

        I´m working in a project to integrate some legacy system with the ECC 6.0, and I need to do some activities like, create functional locations and equipments in SAP PM, I have done this creating Z RFC modules that call bapis like BAPI_FUNCLOC_CREATE and BAPI_EQUI_CREATE, but these BAPIs doesn´t fill classification data, so, in a first moment, I solved this using BDC, but I would like to solve these needs using standard BAPIs if possible.
        To solve the classification, I tried to do it using the BAPI_OBJCL* BAPIs(BAPI_OBJCL_GET_KEY_OF_OBJECT, BAPI_OBJCL_CREATE_KEY), but I didn´t find any example of using these bapis with technical objects, so I tried to test the BAPI_OBJCL_GET_KEY_OF_OBJECT in a first moment and, when I call it passing '003' as classtype(003 is the classtype for the functional locations), this bapi returns me "Class type 003 requires additional objects"(the same occurs if I try it with 002, for equipment). What means this message ? Need I to do some customization in img/spro, or cannot these bapis be used with PM technical objects ?

        I have found the solution for this problem, I found that I was trying to use the wrong functions for my case, so, to solve my needs here, I will use BAPI_OBJCL_CREATE to set the classification data for Functional Locations and Equipments, and I can use BAPI_OBJCL_GETCLASSES to list all classes assigned for a Technical Object, and BAPI_OBJCL_GETDETAIL to get all characteristics assigned to a Technical Object for a specific class.

Using Expression in the PageName Property of a Tablix

Dear Community, my scenario includes SSRS 2008R2/2012 and RDL reports
I need Excel 2010 sheets to be named; every Tablix a different sheet. The new Property PageName is perfect and works great.
But I dislike to manually type the name and I'm looking for a way to set the PageName dinamically... The Dataset name could be my solution; I use
basic Tablix and just need to seek the name to set the Property.
I thought to the Custom Code. The (wrong) idea was to pass a field and retrieve the dataset name from it. No Success:

If I understand correctly, you have several tablix in the report, and it has page break between each tablix.
As per my understanding, we need set the PageName property for each tablix manual. Since that, we have to manual type the dataset name for each tablix. If we have add page break in one tablix, we can use field value expression to display group values as
sheet name in excel.

In which function i should set rendered property of components

i tried all of them and none of them seems to apply the rendereing propretiy.

Add a message group to the Page. Then in each method add

I am working on Windows 2000, with weblogic 6.0.
I am trying to launch the default weblogic server with the
script startWebLogic.cmd, but I modified the original script
to set the current directory as the script directory.
So I commented the cd ..\.. command and set the weblogic.system.home on the java
weblogic.Server, as it is
written in the adminguide page 2-6
But it seems that weblogic can no longer find the config.xml file.
In fact the exception I got is the following "weblogic.management.configuration.ConfigurationException:
XmlRepository directory .\config does not exist" and the startup.log file contains
the following warning : "####<Feb 10, 2001 12:12:51 PM EST> <Warning> <Management>
<nicolas> <myserver> <main> <> <> <000000> <Unrecognized property: system.home>"
So I am just wondering if the system.home property is still supported or if it is
a documentation mistake (or misunderstanding)
Else is there any way to start a weblogic server with the home dir different than
the installation root.

I've got msi package, which has LaunchConditions based on VersionNT(64) property, but installer sets this property to 603 (corresponding to Win8.1\2012r2). I wrote custom action, where I call VerifyVersionInfo function, and on 9879 build it worked,
but starting from 9926 It doesn't. It seems that VerifyVersionInfo now requires proper GUID in manifest file, that is not possible for binary custom action. What is the proper way to detect Windows 10 version in msi package?
I tried to ask this question at Windows Insider Program, but i was suggested to ask it here.
