[Solved] w3m doesn't display images in VT

Hi .
When running w3m in TTY, images are properly displayed, whereas in a XVT (such as urxvt) images doesn't display at all. How could I fix that?
The goal is to display images in mutt, using w3m as the default HTML renderer (thanks to ~/.mailcap).

That's right - I don't use that option because it's usually unnecessary: the overview usually does show a thumbnail of the image, and I can avoid loading the entire page.
Anyway, I noticed that switching from RSS to Atom (for the same feed, I mean) solves the issue - so maybe it was related to the type of feed used.

I have a weird issue with urxvt. For some reason it doesn't display correctly some special character.

This is what I think is happpening.
PragmataPro may not contain those glyphs. It appears to have a wide array of glyphs but it is not unicode complete.
Xfce-terminal is a vte terminal. When a glyph cannot be found in the desired font, it will find the glyph in the 'closest' font. Urxvt will only use the glyphs in the font or fonts specified. If PragmataPro does not contain the glyphs, urxvt will display boxes.
You can give urxvt a series of fonts to search. It will search for a glyph through the listed fonts in the order you specify. Here's an example from my urxvt configs:

xft:FreeSerif:style=Regular, \

I couldn't use FreeSerif or unifont as a main font, but for an occasional glyph, it works for me. This file, http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~mgk25/ucs/exam … 8-demo.txt, can be displayed in urxvt correctly, with only a few unknow glyphs showing as boxes in the Amharic section.

[SOLVED] akregator doesn't show images in the preview pane

I have three different PCs with Arch and kdemod-legacy (that is, kde 3.5.9) and on all of them I use akregator (a RSS/Atom feed reader).
One of the feed I subscribed is from an image board: when new images are uploaded to the site, I'm notified and clicking on the link in the articles section of akregator I can see in the lower pane a thumbnail of the image.
However this doesn't happen on my third pc: I *suppose* the installed applications and libraries are the same between all the machines, and the akregator options seems to be same as well.
Does anybody have an idea about this?

Everything works good except that my TTY can't display special characters. Example:

The is " not showing correctly at the bottom. However, the german umlaut ä works (as you can see).
I have already searched the arch forum. The only thing i have found is setting DAEMON_LOCALE="yes" in rc.conf. However, these post are already quite old and don't solve the my problem (as öäü are working). Additionally, Arch has stopped using rc.conf.
So, what causes this problem and how can i solve it?

I'm pretty sure you have to specify font and font map in vconsole.conf
like so:
FONT=Lat2-Terminus16
FONT_MAP=8859-2
If that doesn't help it could be this.
If so try to load settings manually, I can't test German setup, but for Polish I could do this to get national characters:
loadkeys pl
setfont Lat2-Terminus16 -m 8859-2
that requires to be root/sudo
note that -m 8859-2 part is quite important

actually got all German symbols to be displayed correctly, though I do not know if they are assigned for right keys for obvious reasons

Adobe Reader 9 doesn't display image and barcode

We are using Adobe LiveCycle 7 for creating the pdf rendition of forms. We recently got Adobe Reader 7 updated to Adobe reader 9.0. After the updation, forms are not displaying barcode and image .
With Adobe Reader 7, barcode and image displays. Any idea how can we solve this issue in Adobe Reader 9.0?

Did you optimize the file before uploading the pdf?

Preview doesn't display images to fit window

I'm running OSX 10.6.8 on a 27" iMac, and when I enlarge the Preview window to fit the screen (by dragging the corner), the images don't enlarge. They seem to be stuck at about 1920 pixels wide (at a guess) instead of 2560 wide. I can zoom in, but I want the images to exactly fit the window. Preferences > Scale large images to fit window doesn't work, neither does View > Zoom to fit (which is grayed).
Any suggestions as to how I make images fit the window?

What is the resolution of the images you try to enlarge?
My guess:
If the resolution of your images is lower then 2560 wide (your screen resolution), the window will open with the exact size and resolution of the picture (for instance 1920 wide). i.e. One pixel on your screen equals one pixel of your picture.You can indeed enlarge the window and zoom in, but then you are enlarging pixels, the image will get less sharp.
The "Scale large images to fit window" function, is meant for "large images" as the name implies, so images with a larger resolution then your screen resolution. With this function, you can reduce the size of images that would otherwise not fit entirely on your screen, to the necessary size to view the whole picture as big as possible. So this function does not work if the "scale" is 100% or more.
In slideshow mode however, there's a function to automatically adapt the size of smaller images to "full screen", and also "quicklook" (spacebar) supports full screen mode.

Web site doesn't display images or text properly; occurs in IE as well

When I go to a certain website, there are no error messages. However, the site displays as if there are no style s applied and no images display. I also have the same issue when going to the site using IE 7.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
* "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
* "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Doesn't display images

When using Safari on a Mac many times an image in an email or on facebook doesn't load, just a small icon in the middle of a box of a small blue box with a question mark in it. I have had an Amazon.com email load their header and graphics in the borders and top but none of the images of the products loaded. Today I was on a facebook page that had a post with 6 photos but only 4 loaded. The other two just had the blue box question mark. I assume all of the images were of the same type.
What might be the problem?

Quicklook doesn't display images in numbers files

I encountered an issue with Quicklook not displaying Numbers files correctly (after pressing spacebar). The contents of the files (tables, text) are displayed except for images contained in the files. The thumbnail/preview in the Finder window is rendered correctly.
I ran qlmanage -p *.numbers on a folder containing several Numbers files and this is the output:

APEX doesn't displays images

Hi everyone!
After developing an application in APEX on a server (SERVER_DEV) I then migrate the application to other server for final clients(SERVER_EXP). All functionalitys of the applications are working equal and well in both servers but in the server SERVER_EXP the images aren't displayed while in the server SERVER_DEV all images are displayed.
The application server APEX has the same version in the two servers, and the database is the same for the two applications (and servers). The only difference between servers is the O.S. In server SERVER_DEV is installed FEDORA 8 and in the server SERVER_EXP is installed Windows XP.
Does anyone have solution for this mistery?

I have the files stored in the file system. I don't know if it's related but i get the following error: 'Report printing is currently not available, there is no print server configured.' in the Print Attributes of an report with images.

Edit the report column and in the column attributes change the "Display As" field from "Display as Text (escape special characters, does not save state)" to "Standard Report Column".

Take your images/styles out of the WEB-INF directory.
The WEB-INF directory is protected from the browser.
Nothing requested from the WEB-INF directory will be served directly. You can forward/include these resources from other servlets/jsps but they can't be accessed from a direct url.
Shifting images/styles out of the WEB-INF directory should fix it.
You will of course have to fix your links.
Note that links are resolved relative to the requesting uri (or the html <base> tag if present), not necessarily to the actual location of the JSP.

Mail doesn't display my html

I'm tearing my hair out over this. Solve this for me and I'll love you forever! :-)
I have a shell script running on a Linux machine to generate multipart mail messages. These display perfectly in Thunderbird (PC or Mac) but the html is missing when I open them in Mac mail. Switch to plain text and they look fine, but the html just doesn't display.
I've tried Snow Leopard and Lion with the same result.
Anyone come across this problem? Anyone any ideas?

Thank you Austin, that was exactly the problem: the overall (multipart/mixed) boundary was properly terminated, but the others weren't.
I must have looked at that a hundred times and not seen it. I've corrected that and now it's working.
I guess thunderbird is just more tolerant of format deviation than Mac Mail!

XMP doesn't display proper info in Photoshop CS2 for Mac.

Dear List members:
I have just recently installed Creative Suite CS2 and begun to explore the functionality of XMP. After purchasing Bruce Fraser's book on Camera Raw for CS2, I downloaded Metalab (Pound Hill Software) and created my first custom XMP panel that can be seen under the file info in Photoshop when an image (digital photo) is open.
The problem is that I noticed a few odd things and began to question myself if there is some kind of bug or a problem with my installation of CS2.
1. The window that opens under the file info command has several categories of information on the left to be chosen from, in the following order:
(1)Description, (2)Camera Data 1, (3)Camera Data 2, (4)Categories, (5)History, (6)IPTC Contact, (7)IPTC Content, (8)IPTC Image, (9)IPTC Status, (10)Adobe Stock Photos, (11)Origin, (12)Advanced
The Camera Data 1 option when selected opens a panel in the file info window that seems to contain all the information it is supposed to contain. The Camera Data 2 panel, on the other hand, doesn't display any information at all. Although the fields are there, they are empty. The fields are:
(1)Pixel Dimension X and Y, (2)Orientation, (3)Resolution X and Y, (4)Resolution Unit, (5)Compressed Bits per Pixel, (6)Color Space, (7)Light Source, (8)File Source.
All these fields are empty but when looking at the same file under Bridge the information is there, displayed under the metadata menu.
This is something I noticed "before" installing Metalab so I know it is not a compatibility issue generated by the installation of the software.
After installing CS2 I noticed that CS1 remained installed in my system. The version I purchased of CS2 is the upgrade one. Since I have no use for CS1 as I am now totally converted to CS2, I would like to uninstall CS1. The following are some of the questions I have:
1. How can I uninstall CS1 without causing any problems to my installation of CS1 ? Is there an uninstall utility with the software or will I have to uninstall the entire package manually ?
2. My G5 came with only one internal 160 GB drive where I originally installed CS1. I then purchased another internal 400 GB HD and copied the original drive onto it. This week I am going to replace the original 160 GB drive with a second 400 GB drive so that I can do regular "mirror image" back-ups between the two drives. Shold I expect any problems as I remove the drive where I originally installed CS1 ? Since I used disk utility to "copy" the 160 GB drive onto the 400 GB drive, my understanding it that any Adobe software key or authorization was also transferred to the drive. Is this right ? In case it hasn't, how can I transfer this information so that after I remove the 160 GB drive I will not experience any problems when trying to run CS2 ?
3. How can I fix the problem with the Camera Data 2 panel under the file info window and command ? I noticed that the folder that is supposed to hold the Custom File Info Panels (HD>Library>Application Support>Adobe>XMP>Custom File Info Panels) has files for CS1 and CS2. Could this be a problem ? There many more files with .dat extenson than there are with the .txt extension. Bruce Fraser specifically says that the ones with the .txt extension are the ones that hold the XMP templates for information related to the image files. The files I have in this folder with the .txt are:
(1)Camera1_CS2.txt , (2)Camera1.txt , (3)Camera2_CS2.txt , (4)Camera2.txt , (5)Categories.txt , (6)History.txt , (7)IPTC_Contact.txt , (8)IPTC_Content.txt , (9)IPTC_Image.txt , (10)IPTC_Status.txt , (11)StockPhotoInfo.txt
The only ones that have two separate files one each for CS1 ad CS2 are Camera 1 and Camera 2. Camera 2 seems to be the only that is now non-functional. What should I expect to happen if I were to manually uninstall the ones that relate to CS1 ? Could that cause any problems ?

The Photoshop and/or Bridge forums would be more likely places to get answers to your questions. This forum is inhabited more by programmer types interested in implementing the XMP specification in applications we write.
I'd expect CS2 to ignore CS1 panels so I doubt that's the issue. Panels don't interfere with each other--they just offer different views of the data. In any case, move the extra panels to your desktop and see what happens.
As far as I know, all you need to do on the Mac is drag the CS1 application folder to the trash to uninstall it.
