[SOLVED]youtube and flash issue

So, I've got a flash issue that only happens on youtube. It looks like this:
It happens every time I open a browser (on both firefox and chrome) and goes away after refreshing the page, but its kinda annoying to refresh the page every time I wanna watch a video. Also when switching to fullscreen the video stays in software video rendering when it should switch to accelerated rendering so I get around 10 fps making the video unwatchable (this doesnt happen with windows on the same hardware).
Other flash websites like vimeo work fine and I can watch vimeo HD videos in fullscreen without any issue.
This started happening when youtube introduced the new black look of their player (it was all fine and dandy before), and its bothering me ever since so I'm now using flashvideoreplacer extension for firefox but I still want flash to work properly so I can use chrome again.
I'm using 64-bit arch, flashplugin from extra (getting the same effect with any other flashplugin from AUR) and EnableLinuxHWVideoDecode is set to 1 in /etc/adobe/mms.conf
Oh and I've tried this on Ubuntu live cd and controls work fine but accelerated video still doesnt work.
Any help would be appreciated.
SOLVED:Graphic problem is resolved after installing new version of flashplugin, but still no HW acceleration.

strangest thing... a few 'non-youtube' sites still work ok, but still complain 'no javascript' ..
so went to firefox (v17.0.4 ESR) 'tools, options, content' and yup, javascript UNTICKED!! :O :O my bad memory? something else??? {shrugs}
ticked it, now ok........ think im getting old?????? ROFL..

Update Safari 3.1.1 disables youtube and flash viewing in general

There appears to be a theme emerging on these forums of updating safari 3.1.1 causing youtube and flash video content to not display even after uninstalling Flash and reinstalling.
I have tried to reinstall 10.4.11 combo update as well as Safari 3.1.1 which always fails. I recently had to do an archive and install.... and computer was working beautifully with Safari 3.1 now after update BUG City!!!! Mozilla and Netscape work just fine with flash content. I have deleted plist Safari... repaired permissions etc, etc to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas at all???? This is really annoying Apple.... do you hear me?

Just to let you all know I had to ...unfortunately..... archive and reinstall my OS ..again for the past time in two weeks...to fix the problem. I now have everything working again with Safari except I have yet to update with 3.1.1. (I now have version 3.0.4.) I have re updated to 10.4.11 combo PPC still no problem but I am definitely fixing permissions after each update and checking things more meticulously. I'm not sure if I should update to 3.1.1..a little gun shy now. Anyway, I tried every thing posted to fix the problem and the reality is that Archive and Install was the only fix that really worked. Sorry!!! The update with 3.1.1 originally looking at the reports must have corrupted the Webkit and core systems in OSX. Any feedback I hope this helps all of you with the same problems with Safari. Samsung Note 3 Camera and Flash Issues

I have a Samsung Note 3 that is only a few months old and the Camera continues to not function correctly.
Android 4.4.2
* Flash will randomly turn off and I will need to restart my device to get it working again.
* Pictures taken with camera are slow and very often out of focus.
The camera flash issue is something most people might not notice until they absolutely need the flash.
The camera taking a long time to focus/take pictures I'm sure a lot of people have seen on a more regular basis.

10.7.4 update causes YouTube and Flash video Errors?

Since updating to 10.7.4 yesterday, I've noticed that YouTube and other online Flash videos stutter, stop and continue playing, or pause frequently. Has anyone else noticed this bug? I'm using the newest version of Chrome but tried Safari as well and noticed the same kind of bug. If anyone has a fix it would be greatly appreciated.

MOBIOLA WEBCAM and FLASH Issue

Hello,
I've used for a long time Mobiola WEBCAM (app that turns one's iPhone/iPad into a webcam via WIFI) in Skype and video chat sites like Omegle (all done through GOOGLE CHROME), up until yesterday.
As of today, any of my browsers or my Skype applications on my MAC MINI won't recognize my VIdeo FEED.
I do get a connection between the iPhone/iPAD and the MAC MINI, but the VIDEO is not being "fed/transferred" for some reason to the browsers or Skype.
Is it a adobe flash issue? Mac os x issue? I should I proceed?

From your posted info, you have been thorough in your troubleshooting and research.
Because your iSight works perfectly in every app aside from flash, iSight is not your problem.
Your problem seems to me to be entirely with Flash. Here follow my best suggestions.
(1) If all your software is up to date and working properly otherwise, your best answers for your Flash-specific problem should be from Adobe, whether via Settings/Help, Flash Forum, or personal assistance. You can find links to all of Adobe's comprehensive help offerings here:

(2) Although I doubt it will help you, if you have a current Flash version installed and want to try one more thing before using Adobe Help, applying the 10.6.6 Combo Update might help you:
• Backup your Mac and turn off Time Machine
• Disconnect peripherals and restart Mac
• Use Disk Utility to repair permissions
• Download and install http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1349
• Repair permissions again immediately following the restart that finishes the update.
• Test Flash. Reconnect needed peripherals and test again.
(• Turn Time Machine on again when you are satisfied that the update worked.)
Although I don't think the Combo Update is likely to resolve your problem, it costs nothing but a bit of time to find out if it helps your system.
We will watch for your status update.

Issue with Youtube and Flash Player, videos don't play after a while

When I go to Youtube I can watch videos, but after I've player 5 or 6, when I select the next one, I get a snowy screen with a message "The Adobe Flash Player is required for video playback. Get the latest Flash Player". Issues is I already have the latest Flash Player, and it was playing fine just a minute ago. But from then on I cannot play more videos until I restart the computer. I'm tired of reinstalling Flash every day.
Win 7 64 bits, IE 9 and Firefox (happens with both)

Apparently the browser at first recognizes that Flash is installed, but then it doesn't find it anymore. Not sure how that happens.

Youtube and Flash player issues ???

i have currently been presented with the issue of youtube not working on certain types of machines, on our dell optiplex 755 machines, youtube will not work properly, i have narrowed the problem down to Adobe flash. everytime i tried to play a youtube video it would usually just give me a black screen with an error message, after i tried a couple solutions i thought i had fixed it, i can now play some youtube videos and not all, for example i can play 5 in a row and after that, not many videos will work.
the machines are running windows 7, have adobe 11.9, Internet Explorer 9 and the graphics drivers have been updated.
does anyone have any solutions??

jkeano18, you say you use Windows 7. do you have Windows 7 SP1 (service pack 1) installed? if not, you need to install SP1 for Windows 7.
since you use a Dell Optiplex 755 machine, what kind of CPU does it have and how much RAM is installed? you can get this info by opening the System properties page of Windows 7. you may need to install a faster CPU chip, add more RAM or do both. Specs on the Optiplex 755 PC are posted on this Dell site.
as for graphics, what kind? Intel or AMD? some Optiplex 755 computers come with Intel graphics and other Optiplex 755 machines come with AMD graphics. Run the DirectX Diagnostic tool (dxdiag.exe) and click on the Display tab to get the graphics info.
If the graphics is Intel, I recommend the latest Intel graphics drivers from Intel site rather from the Dell site. If the graphics is AMD, download the latest AMD drivers from the AMD site.

[SOLVED] PulseAudio with Flash Issues

Hey everyone! It's my first time posting on the Arch Linux forums and I'm excited to be a part of the community I made the switch from Ubuntu after becoming frustrated with the way things were heading (I will spare you from my rant). Installation was a bit more involved than I expected but it was a rewarding experience and I had a lot of fun setting everything up; and I am pleased with the results. I have one last issue that I wasn't able to solve by using the excellent wiki... I have set up PulseAudio and it seems to not like it when I have Rhythmbox open and Chromium running a flash video at the same time. PulseAudio stops playing audio when I have a song playing on Rhythmbox and I pause it to watch a flash video (youtube, colbertnation.com, etc). The result is no audio being played from the flash video and if I resume playback from Rhythmbox, no audio is played. The only ways I can get audio to work again is by closing all applications that play audio (Chromium, Rhythmbox, etc), restarting PulseAudio by running "killall pulseaudio && pulseaudio" (I'm not sure if this is the proper way to do this) and then playing and then opening an audio file from the file browser, or rebooting the computer. I have looked through the wiki and the forums and I was not able to find anything that would help solve this problem. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

Okay so I looked around the forums a bit and tried blacklisting snd_pcm_oss in rc.conf, but I did not have any success. It seems to me that is not a chromium problem but a flashplugin problem... I haven't had much time to try the other suggestions in different threads, but I will post again when I do. Thanks for the help

How to install this update and solve USB and touchpad issues?

I have Equium M50 (59E) and got bitten by an update that took out my touchpad and keyboard .I have made fresh install of XP Home and have all updated drivers and all is going well .The last update i cant seem to fathom is for

The update fixes all kinds of issues of the kind i am having and is a recomended update from Driver detective ,that i use offten .
The trouble is it says to uninstall drivers for the one i have installed allready and when i do this it knocks off my USB mouse leaving me not able to install the new ones .When i reboot it installs the ones i dont want reinstalled .

Youtube and flash games work, but other sites that use flash don't work

I'm currently using Firefox 18.0.2 on 2 different computers (Both Win7 64 bit), both with flash 11.6.602.168. Both have roughly the same programs installed and the same browser configuration. However, on one machine, flash works only on some sites. For instance, Youtube works perfectly, as do dedicated flash games. However, sites that use embedded flash applications fail to work. For instance, if I visit www.speedtest.net, where the test options normally appear is completely blank. Similarly, other video players fail. For example, videos in www.cbsnews.com play sound, but where the video should be is just white. I've tried completely uninstalling both firefox as well as flash, and installing previous versions, nothing has worked.

I guess it is a process of elimination, what is different ?
I would first of all check and experiment with Adobe FlashPlayer protected mode setting.

Also have you any filtering, adblock or security related programs installed which may block video or scripts. With you-tube check is it actually using Flash player,and not trying to use any HTML5 options so check any options and cookies.

I've add the mpd daemon in rc.conf and i've chosen my directory /home/andreas/Downloads in sonata .Also i put mpd:ALL to etc/hosts.allow
Sonata connects fine to the server but i can't see my libary .
What might be the issue ?

If you continue to have issues with permissions, the solution i use is to simply run MPD as my normal user, storing all the necessary directories and files under ~/.mpd and just pointing it at the config file I stuck there:
$ mpd ~/.mpd/config
No more permissions issues! There's an explanation of this in the wiki.

Stage3D and Flash issues with Chrome

I was playing The Last Stand Dead Zone earlier with all of the settings i nthe flash game set to max and now I HAVE to play it on the lowest setting. Also my Nvidia 765m is apparantly now supported by Stage3D or whatever it is. I really have no idea what to do. This page also has the wrong info about my operating system http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-games-video-or.html it says that mine is 32-bit when it is 64-bit http://puu.sh/6derE.png I want to play my game and I am very pissed at the moment because I cannot.

More issues with Chrome.
All of a sudden one day I noticed two problem:
I cannot login to SCN via Chrome.
SCN search does not funciton.
If I click on any regular SCN link from e.g. an email notification, the screen gets stuck with a blank screen in authentication mode.
Similarly, if I enter a search term in SCN search, I get a blank screen.
Also, if I click "Login" in the masthead, the screen gets stuck looking like this:
I've cleared cached, reinstalled the browser, and ensured I'm using the proper certificate by eliminating all but the one certificate.
Any suggestions?

Youtube and Safari Issues on iPad/Apple devices.

For the last few days I have had a problem with all my apple devices. For some reason Youtube videos will not play, I keep getting the message "This video is currently unavailable" when I try to play any video. This only happens on Youtube through Safari, the app on my 3gs works fine but the app is not for iPad. Another problem that I get only on my iPad is that Safari is acting all weird. When I try to click on a link nothing happens and when I press the back button it goes back 2 or more pages instead of the previous page like its supposed to. Steps I've tried to resolve the problem:
Force close the apps.
Force restart the iPad/All apple devices.
Reset all settings.
Restore iPad through iTunes.
None of the above steps have worked for me and I just don't know what to do. This only happens through wifi but I am certain their is nothing wrong with my wifi as my android devices and my laptop/desktop computer work fine when trying to view youtube videos. As I mentioned this is happening on all Apple devices which include:
iPad 2
iPhone 3gs
iPhone 5
iPod touch 4th gen.
The weird safari issue is only occurring on my iPad.
Any help resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

IE 7 and Flash issues

When I attempt to visit the
Neopets website using IE 7 for
Windows Vista Home Basic, IE crashes. The problem is not duplicated
when I use Firefox to visit Neopets. I am suspecting Flash Player
9,0,28,0 as a possible cause of the problem. What should I do?

It seems like Flash Player has issues with IE in general
compared to FireFox. Should I say it's an ActiveX vs. Plug-in
issue?
Example: Whenever I download a FLV file at an enourmous speed
(2 megabytes+/sec) in IE in a player (progressive download), the
video horribly hitches until the progressive download completes. I
can replicate this issue in IE on multiple machines.
FireFox does not have this issue.
It's a weird issue and directly related to bandwidth. If I
use a bandwidth manager and force my max banwidth it no longer has
an issue when I set it so I can only download 1 MEGABYTE - 1.5
MEGABYES/sec max. Any higher and the hitching comes into play. The
faster the download the worse it gets.
I've also had a coupl einstances where it's totally the
opposite. Plays fine while downloading super fast and if the
download haults or slows down to near 0 for some reason, the player
hitches up or freezes with it. Note, this is like if I am only done
watching 10% of the video and the massive slowdown starts occuring
well into it's downloa...50-75% complete. Anyhow, when the download
kicks back into gear and speeds way up again then the video plays
smoothly again.
And agian, I can replicate the habit on two machines does not
happen in FireFox.
For the sake of it, the two machines I tested the issue on
are a 1.8ghz Centrino Duo laptop w/ 1gb of RAM and also a Dual
3.6ghz Xeon w/ 4GB of RAM.
The Flash beta player you can get from Adobe labs does
nothing to resolve this, although I love what else they have
implemented in with the beta in regards to FLV/On2VP6
support.

[SOLVED] Xfce and bus issues

Long story short, I updated Xfce to 4.8 few days ago, and everything went well. I was running my basic programs and VM during these days.
But today, all of a sudden, some programs didn't launch anymore. xfce4-mixer quit with a "Bus Error" message, and many other things started failing. After a reboot, it just got weirder: NMApplet appeared in the tray and displayed my network (wireless), but clicking it just "freezes" the icon. Aside from that, xfce wouldn't load my keymap (es), instead it defaults to a "us" keymap.
The only packages I updated today were a few python and power management packages. Downgrading these (and dbus) didn't help.
Also, X terminals (xfce's terminal, tilda, etc) behave strangely when scrolling back: A few lines are displayed, but scrolling up further just displays empty space.
No major configs were edited during this time. Googling a bit gave me results about dbus being twice on rc.conf, but that's not the issue. My current rc.conf has dbus and hal after it (Method 1 in archwiki). Excluding dbus (Method 2) doesn't change things. I also tried excluding hal (Xfce 4.8 doesn't require it anymore, correct?), but it's the same thing.
Xfce itself seems to run sorta fine though: The shutdown command inside the DE works, and some apps do run (power management, xfce notes, notifications). Others give out several errors: Chromium for example says it "can't create a directory socket" or something (using another system right now, so I can't check), while avant-window-navigator gives out dbus and gconf errors.
dmesg doesn't display anything out of the ordinary at the end (the blank space in terminals issue doesn't let me read too far back.)
EDIT: A dbus-daemon process is constantly using 50% of the CPU. And the kernel is 2.6.36 (upgraded it quite some time ago, had no issues)
Any ideas on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

...and I solved it.
Since nothing would work, I decided to back up my system files and pacman cache, among other things. When checking my pkgcache folder size, I noticed that the / partition was at 100%...
So running ncdu I find out slim had a 9.9 GB log for some reason. Deleted that, rebooted, and everything is back to normal.
So now I mark this as solved, thankfully. Now the slim logs are not growing like crazy.
