Some of the required files are missing" error when opening iTunes 7.5

Hi
Grateful for some help. I'm getting this message when I try to open iTunes and Quicktime isn't working and there's an error 2093 appearing. I've found the help page on apple but it tells me to delete any iTunesSetup.exe files that I have so that I can reinstall.
This is where it's clear that I am clueless with this stuff - I've got two folders of iTunes files (iTunes and iTunes(2)) and there's heaps of files in there but I don't know which to delete (if any). I'd really appreciate any assistance anyone can give.
Thanks
Deb

Apple have this Help on the 2093

  • Itunes cannot run because some of the required files are missing?

This morning when I turned on my computer my itunes was suddenly not working. When I double click the desktop icon to open it up, I get an error message that reads:
iTunes cannot run because some of the required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes.
I searched the FAQ archive and still cannot find an answer to my problem.
THe last part of the error message says to reinstall itunes, but I cannot even get the corrupt version off. Is there anyway to save the music I have on here? Another user and I have separate iTUnes music, so a great deal of music will be lost, including things recently purchased.

Thank you so very much. I don't know why I didn't think of that but it is up and running fine now

  • "Some of the required files are missing" in iTunes 10.3.1.

    Hi there:
Apple Software Update recently updated my version of iTunes to 10.3.1, but I can no longer open the program. I receive the error message "Cannot open iTunes. Some of the required files are missing."
I've reinstalled iTunes twice, to no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm running Windows 7 Premium 32-bit.
    Thanks!
    Jon

Hi! The repair install didn't work, but rather than trying to install iTunes on top, I uninstalled iTunes and QuickTime and reinstalled them, and iTunes runs again. I'm glad it didn't erase my library!
    Thanks for your help.

  • Recently updated itunes to (10.22.14) when attempting to open itunes, it fails to open and I get this message: itunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall itunes.

Just updated itunes to (10.22.14) and itunes won't open. I get message: Itunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall itunes. Is there any other way to troubleshoot this other than reinstalling itunes?

With that one in that context, I think we should check for malware.
Try downloading and installing the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware. Update your MBAM definitions and then run a full scan of the PC. (Takes about 2 hour on my Lenovo.)

Does the scan find any infections? If so, please paste the contents of the log file for the scan in a reply here so we can have a look.

Started having trouble with iTunes so I uninstalled everything and tried to reinstall but it says ' iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes.'  Well, I've uninstalled and reinstalled 5 times.  Now what?

I figured it out.  A week ago I had downloaded a screensaver from a website I trusted and that's when my problems started. I uninstalled it but that didn't help.  So, I reinstalled it then used an uninstall softtware app that cleanns more than the control panel does. Then I used a computer cleaner to be sure everything was wiped clean.  And it worked.  I downloded iTunes for the 7th time in 2 days and finally it worked!  And I lost nothing from my account.

  • ITunes 10.6.1.7: "iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes." ?

    Fakt:
iTunes 10.6.1.7 Fehlermeldung: "iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes."

    iTunesLibrary (Damaged).itl

  • "iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes." Will I lose purchases?

So, I received the above message (and continue to receive it even after restartind the computer) when I try to open iTunes. To my knowledge, we did not delete any files. Anyway, I'm concerned that in reinstalling, I will lose purchsed content, specifically music and movies. Will those files be lost when I reinstall? Is there a way to back up the music library and the movies before the reinstall even if I can't open iTunes? Or, if I do lose the content, is there a way to get it back without having to repurchase?
    Thanks!

  • "iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing" Error...

After updating iTunes yesterday, to 7.3.1, that's the message that I get when trying to open iTunes. It further says "please reinstall itunes". How do I do that without losing all of my music in my library?
    PC   Windows XP

if you re-install itunes it will keep your library but to be sure, go into my music>itunes and copy the itunes library data file and the itunes music folder, and paste them somewhere else, then you have a backup

  • Itunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes.

I have unistalled it completly, manually deleted everything that has to do with Apple, and I installed Itunes countless times. Frustating at its best how do I fix this problem?

I did try to uninstall and reinstall.  It messed up my computer.  I had to "RESTORE" from the prior days backup.  This was not helpful at all.  I'm used to losing all my stuff when I connect to iTunes, that's a whole other issue, but now I'm completely banned from any updates to my phone at all.  Geeze.......
