Some photos not visible in Windows Explorer

Dear All,
I have a problem when using an iPhone 5s with iOS 8.1.1 together with Windows 8.
The iPhone connect well, I can browse most of the photos from Windows Explorer, but some newer pictures are simply missing. So I see the majority of photos taken, but some are simply missing. Has anyone already encountered this? I have tried rebooting the phone and the PC, with no result.

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

Phone not visible in Windows Explorer - post 10.3 upgrade

I installed 10.3 on my Q10 no problem, saw the Blend icon and decided to install (having used it on the work Passports) so a couple of things....
1. Blend now downloaded - but wants to install on an F:drive - which would be the Q10.
2. When connected via USB (or wifi) the Q10 is not visible in Windows Explorer (it was fine in 10.2)
3. Can see the drivers begin to install, but then it rolls back and a 'Install failed, cannot find F:drive' appears.
4. Is Blend intended for use on the Q10.

Found it, you have to go into Settings > Networks and Connections > Connection Services > USB and slide the USB Mass Storage Mode to the on position. It will then show as an ext. hdd in Windows Explorer.

Problem: BB 8700g - connected via USB to my PC but not visible on Windows Explorer

when I connect my 8700 g (OS 4.5 / DTM 5.01) to my PC via USB and open the Windows explorer I exspected to see there the device , I don't!!!
I would like to "drag and drop" *.mpg-or *. jpg-files from my PC to the BB device (such as ring tones or photos)
Other smart phones are recognized , I can see them as drive E or F etc, and if I click on e.g. E, I see the contents of E and am thus in a position to transfer the files to the place I want.
So what have I got to do in order to make my device visible and ready for the work I described?
I hope I made myself understood and would appreciate you helping me solve this problem, thank you

Also, check that you are using only root USB ports...no hubs (sometimes the front-side ports are hubs...use a rear USB port). And make sure to try disabling USB power management in your system configuration (Device Manager).
Apologies in advance if this is redundant -- there's no way to be sure if you've already seen and tried these.

NAS not visible in Windows Explorer!

I seem to be the most stupid person here but why is my newly installed NAS (Buffalo LS220D) not visible from the Windows Explorer?

Meanwhile, please mak sure to turn on network discovery under Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings
Make sure that"client for microsoft network" is installed under the network connection\properties
If issue persists, please temporarily turn off firewall and anti-virus porgram since incorrect setting can block the connection.

Lightroom 1.2 not visible in Windows Explorer

I had Lightroom 1.1. and had no trouble assigning Lightoom as the program to open .jpgs. Since I've upgraded to 1.2 Lightroom does not appear as a choice in the file type selection list in Windows Explorer. When I browse to the Lightroom .exe file location in the program sub-directory it doesn't get added to the list.
I reinstalled the upgrade, stopped all spyware and virus programs but still not working.
Any ideas anybody on how I can fix this??
I'm on Windows XP Professional, IBM laptop.

Photoshop CS2 thumbnails not visible in Windows Explorer

I have Photoshop CS2 running on XP Pro, and all of the thumbnail images for my PSD files show up as black squares in Windows Explorer. The files I created in PS6 still show their thumbnail images, but once I load them into CS2 and save them, they're gone. Any ideas as to what's causing this?

There was a DLL called psicon.dll provided with early versions of Photoshop that made .psd thumbnails visible in the 32 bit Windows Explorer. I don't know whether later versions of .psd files might be incompatible.
For modern systems, especially 64 bit systems, there is no Adobe-supplied icon shell extension - one has to go to commercial (but inexpensive) software from one of a couple of companies out there who provide the proper codec:

Of course, if you investigate these double check to be sure the software will work on your system.
Before paying for anything you might also check to see if you have the Maximize Compatibility setting checked in Edit - Preferences - File Handling.

Ifs 'o' drive not visible in windows explorer(WinXP)

Hi,
The 'o' drive does not appear in the windows explorer. I have installed version 2.0.1 on windows xp with oracle 9i.I have checked the node log, it says that the ntfs server has started successfully, but I find the drive anywhere.
Any ideas?

9iFS 9.0.1 has not been certified with XP. Pleasae try to use a certified Windows client and let me know if you still have the problem.

External HDD PX1393E not visible in windows explorer

Hi everyone,
I just bought an external HDD PX1393E for my non-Toshiba laptop. I know its old and it has still windows 2000 SP4 on it.
Now my problem is my laptop wont recognise the external HDD. The add new hardware wizard works fine, but I can't see the new drive in windows explorer.
I looked in the FAQ from the guide. There I tried to go and see in the storage options from rigt-click on my computer in the manage options. But I still can't see the drive.
Now I wanted to see if I could find some driver update or something, but man you cant find jack on this site.
Anyone?

I had exactly the same problem with a WD 1TB external drive. I couldn't figure out what was wrong.
The WD people should have mentioned that in the instructions.
I'm now formatting 1 TB of space. It probably takes until tomorrow morning.

Folder permissions set in Powershell not visible in Windows Explorer

I have created the following script to grant TestGroup access to c:\MyFolder:
$MyFolder = "c:\MyFolder"
$rule = new-object System.Security.AccessControl.FileSystemAccessRule ("TestGroup","FullControl","Allow")
$acl = Get-ACL $MyFolder
$acl.SetAccessRule($rule)
Set-ACL -Path $MyFolder -AclObject $acl
The script works and grants access. However, if I open the Security pane from Windows Explorer, I cannot see the permissions:

Why can't I see the permissions in Explorer when they are set through Powershell?

I added
"ContainerInherit, ObjectInherit","None","Allow")
which seems to have done the trick.

IWeb '08 Photos Not Visible in Internet Explorer 7 on PC's

I've read through the posts looking for a workaround....I can't get photos onpages from the "iWeb Photo Template" to show up on PC's running IE7.
Every other page looks just fine in IE7...and in fact, looks fine in Safari and Firefox (as you'd have guessed). It's as if the Javascript isn't loading for those pics. Just empty...not even a "placeholder"
Any thoughts towards a workaround?

Ipod recognised but contents not visible in windows explorer

Hi There,
I have this strage problem with my 5G ipod from many days. When I connect the device to windows, it is recognised but i am unable to see the contents of it. I can see only only the folder "Photos" which has 1 file named "Photo Database".
When it do Run-> "G:/ipod_control" in windows, i can see the contents of this folder. I normally use my ipod to store my documents in disc mode and i would like to access them now. Unfortunately i do not remember the folder names to a Run-> G:/whatever...
Is there any way i get to see/access those non ipod-default-folders?
I rally appreciate any kind of help on this. Thanks guys!

HT1329 iPod classic disc use - only some music visible in Windows Explorer!?

I followed above steps but then realized that it has only copied some of my music over. When I look at the music folder on the ipod in Windows Explorer, I only see some of the artists/albums/songs that actually on the iPod! I can see that a certain song is on my iPod and can play on my iPod without a problem, but it is not visible in Windows Explorer, hence it doesn't get copied over.
I can find the songs in the hidden ipod_content file on my ipod, but if I copy a file over to iTunes it gets added as a new file (which works), but the 'old' non-functional file is still there. We are talking hundreds of songs so doing it this way would mean hours and hours of locating manually and adding to playlists plus deleting the 'old' file in iTunes.
Is there a way to copy everything over from the ipod_content file and getting iTunes to match that with the missing songs like it did with the songs that were copied over the first time around?

Hmm.
Ideally you would have copied the entire iTunes folder from the old computer to the new one, having first consolidated your library to make sure that all the media content was inside the iTunes folder. If it isn't too late then go back and do it again.
Otherwise see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device. If you have your preserved library file what might work is to manually recover the media files into a new iTunes library with the iLounge article near the end, get iTunes to organize the media. Then cut and paste the new media folder onto the one you had previously so that no duplicate files are created. With luck your original library can then find the recovered files.

I have an issue with my iPod nano. I first connected it to the iTunes on Mac and synced perfectly, but now I am trying to connect it to the iTunes in Windows but iTunes can't see it. Even althought the iPod is visible in Windows explorer so it is connected to the PC. Don't know what to do next.

Also you might try forcing the iPod into disk mode first, then connecting it to your computer and see if that makes it show up in iTunes...

Some Media Card folders within 'documents' folder not visible in Windows XP Pro SP3

I have tried renaming these folders on the device (eliminating '.'s and generally shortening the folder names) and then connecting to a Windows machine again afterwards, however, I have two problematic folders (within the 'documents' folder) that are still not visible in Windows.
One thing that is kind of troubling is that I thought I noticed that when I was moving files out of the 'documents' root directory (only place I can put files from the Windows machine [while connected] because I can't see the target folders in Windows) on the device to one of the problematic folders (again, because I cannot accomplish this in Windows), the original full-length folder name was still being referenced in the path displayed in the intermediate confirmation dialog.
Does it matter whether the folders are created within the (connected to) Windows environment or done on the device? Are there folder name length considerations or illegal characters?
I have created (in the Windows environment, while connected) some rather long folder names (including ''' & '.' characters) within the 'pictures' directory and have no trouble seeing them later in Windows.
What could be going on here?
