Some text not rendered

Hi.
I seem to have some sort of font problem. Some text on certain website doesn't seem to render proberly. This behaviour is only present with webkit browsers (dwb, luakit, surf, midori, jumanji) and not with firefox or chromium. I can't be sure when this bug was introduced, but I'm pretty certain it was a while ago. A recent update is probably not the problem here.
The text is not rendered when you first visit a site where the bug occurs, but whill render if you mark the whitespace where the text should be with you mouse. I'll post two images to show you what I mean.

I'm having the fonts ttf-dejavu and ttf-liberation installed and their paths added to xorg.conf. Nothing else has been done to the font configuration.

I'll probably file a bug report later tonight (although we're in different time zones so that probably doesn't make much sense to you). I'll just compile the latest nightly first, just to make sure that it wasn't just fixed a couple of days ago.

I suspected libxi first but a downgrade did not resolve the problem. So you may very well be correct by connecting this to the xserver. I'm using nouveau by the way.

Rollover text not rendering correctly in Safari 7.x

Safari 7.x and my blog (NotNecessarilyPretty.com) are not getting along.
Specifically, the rollover text in the post titles (see attached or visit site) is not rendering correctly. The right edge of the text does not change to the correct color. Have been in contact with Apple as well as the theme's developer, but have yet to be offered of a fix.
This blog displays correctly when accessed via Chrome or Firefox, and prior to Mavericks, Safari evidenced no problem.
Thoughts on how to correct this?

3rd Party Search Engine Integration - some property not rendering

Hi,
I have tried to integrate a 3rd Party Search Engine into TREX following the published example.
I have successfully integrated and search results from the 3rd party engine are showing up.
However, some properties like cm_description, cm_contentlength, cm_modifedby are not rendering; their value are null; the search layout are specified correctly.
I only managed to set
1) cm_displayname
2) cm_contenttype
3) cm_id
and are showing up.
The setting of the rest of the properties are done in the same way and put into the propertymap.
Any idea why are the not rendering?? Any help appreciated. Thanks!

I tried to deploy the original package com.customer.search.par, but unfortunately I got also an error with this package.
The disadvantage is, that I don't get an error message during start-up in one of the logger - for cause analysis.
I got the following error message within KM:

Some areas not rendered?

I have some green screens in the a film where transitions were not rendered.
How can I ensure that before sharing that all transitions, even those in sub-sub compound clips are rendered?

Well, no. I didn't know about that option before but I did it (Modify > Render All).
No rendering started. Then I clicked into a compound sequence and there rendering started.

Some text not printing when printing from FM8 to Pdf

We have recently upgraded to Acrobat 9 and now have problems with some Helvetica text not showing up in the pdfs. If we change the text to Arial it prints. Changing/substituting Arial for Helvetica is not an option since these files are structure using modules built by a 3rd party. This is obviously an issue with Framemaker8 and Acrobat 9 so my hopes are that someone else has had this issue and has a fix.

Thanks Art. Sorry, I looked through the forum and didn't see any Q&A on missing text in Pdfs. We are on Windows XP working files from our desktop and our server. Our normal method of producing pdfs is through File>Print using our minor customized pdf settings for screen viewing and hires printing (we've used these settings for years). Since our upgrade to Acrobat 9 we are now using Distiller 9.2.0.124. I've also found out since I first posted my question that we are not on the latest version of Framemaker8. I will run the updates to get us to the latest version of 8 and see if that fixes what seems to be an incompatiblity issue between FM8 and Acrobat 9. I say that because this problem started when we upgraded to Acrobat 9. If that doesn't fix the problem, I'll get back to you to find out more about the Microsoft printer Hotfix. Unless you know for a fact that FM8 is not compatible with Distiller 9.2.0.124, in that case we'll need to upgrade to FM9.

New WRT54G at home, some websites not rendering???

I installed a WRT54G a couple of weeks ago and I noticed this weekend a few sites not rendering, in particular ESPN.com. When I bring the same laptop to my office, plug it into my network, no prob whatsoever.
My network is pretty much all macs (I do run Parallels on my MacBook with WinXP, and Explorer didn't work either) and the 3 machines all with the same behavior. I also had problems with Disney Channel.
Anyone have ideas of what I can look at, or have experience with this thing. I tried changing the channel, and that didn't seem to have an impact.

Punjabi text not rendering correctly in TLFTextField instance?

I'm experiencing rendering issues with a SWF file using a runtime generated instance of the TLFTextField class (Flash CS5 or CS5.5), specifically with Punjabi and only on Mac OS browsers. The text displays as control characters (or outlined rectangles), and not in Punjabi. However, if I make an authortime instance of TLFTextField in a FLA, copy and paste Punjabi text into the field on the stage, and publish it with an embedded font like Arial Unicode MS, Punjabi displays just fine. If I try to use the same embedded font on a runtime instance, I still get the weird characters. Even weirder, if I leave the authortime instance on the stage, and then create a runtime instance of TLFTextField, the text shows just fine in both fields! What's happening with the authortime instance that I can not get to happen with the runtime instance?

Alan, I know how I can continue to debug the issue further using either native FTE methods as well as TLF containers directly instead of the shell that I'm using to create them. So far, I've found that this is a Mac specific issue (Windows is fine), and that my only workaround is to specify a TextLayoutFormat instance using a fontFamily value of "Gurmukhi MT". This font seems to only be available on the Mac OS X install disc in the Optional Installs folder (I had it installed by default, but my Canadian government clients did not). If I specify the following properties for a TextLayoutFormat instance, it will display:
textFormat.fontFamily = "Gurmukhi MT";
textFormat.fontWeight = FontWeight.NORMAL;
textFormat.fontLookup = FontLookup.DEVICE;
textFormat.renderingMode = RenderingMode.CFF;
I was hoping I could get it to work in an embedded fashion, but my research also indicates the Mac OS has a different lookup table for Punjabi glyphs than Windows OS.
I only have so much time left in this project to find a solution, and I might just go with this approach for now. Hopefully, other users who need to render Punjabi / Devanagari characters can utilize some of what I've said here as a solution.

CSS Issues , HTML text not rendering properly

I've loaded and parsed some xhtml in my DataManager class that is validated against the W3C strict dtd.I'm pushing certian bits of this into public arrays in my DataManager. My ContentManager, calls to the DataManager, and is returned a corresponding data set , instantiates a new GenericSection , and passes in the array as an argument in the constructor.

My GenericContent class i linked to a movieclip in the library , with one dynamic textfield, with the following settings :
instanceName : sectionText;
anti-aliasing : for readability;
embed : uppercase , lowercase , numerals , and puncutation
behavior : muliline
render as html : selected( true );
sectionText is declared as a public var in the GenericContent instance.
I have tried applying styles as such :

The html is not being rendered properly , the tags themselves do not show up , but no style is being applied. Any ideas , or perhaps a better approach ? thanks !

Upon further investigation i figured out what was wrong.
This property :
bulletText .fontWeight = "bold";
was causing my text to not render because bold character weren't used within the symbol associated with the class. By removing that and cleaning up the code a bit ,

it rendered semi correctly , except with erronious line breaks , the solution for that was to , remove any instances of "/n" from the contentText string before setting the sectionText , done like this :

now it looks great !

IWeb 09 Text not Rendering Consistently (text to picture optimization)

I am using iWeb 09 and finding that custom fonts are not being properly rendered to be output as images or as Apple calls it optimization.
Under iWeb 06, this worked perfectly. Custom fonts were saved out as image files and retained their design aesthetic. Here's a site I did that does exactly that (www.stuffiputonline.com) The font I used was Eurostile and it all outputs perfectly as image.
In 09, custom fonts are not being output as images and instead show up as Times Roman, or some other generic web font, when opened on a third party computer. (The site in question is editroom.info and I am using Avant Garde as my header and sub-header font.)
I have tried turning on the optimization preference to gauge what's happening. However, iWeb's behavior is totally inconsistent. Sometimes the custom fonts show the optimization warning, sometimes they don't.
I've tried some tricks which I thought would force optimization/image render. I added a tiny shadow to all my custom font text. Okay, great it all showed the optimization warning.
I open my site on my wife's computer and almost every font that was supposed to be an image is coming up as editable Times Roman text. Clearly, Apple has retained a text information despite showing it as image render inside iWeb.
Any thoughts. Is this just a 09 3.0 bug?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Add a drop shadow to the font in the Font window and set the opacity to 1 or zero percent as show in this screenshot:

If you already haven't done so go to iWeb's preferences and check this checkbox: Show text imaging indicator. Then you'll get an indication when the text box will be converted to an image file.
You do know that this will make the site load slower in many browsers, particularly Internet Explorer.

Some text is rendering in a strange font in firefox on my Mac.

On some website, there is text that is rendering in an fancy type font, almost like handwritten font. I have no idea why it is happening. I will attach a screenshot of an example of my homepage where this is occurring in just one place I have found.

Why is some text not shown after merging multiple documents

One of my clients is using Adobe Acrobat XI and they are merging multiple PDF documents (up to 1000 single PDF's!) to create one big PDF document.
But somehow just some parts of the text are not shown after the merging (it is actually still there because you can copy and paste it in to Word and you will see it again)?
Any suggestions?

Since you have identified the problematic pages, have you checked if the issue occurs with the same pdf when merged with a smaller number may be 10 pdfs.
How are these pdfs created? It might be possible that the said document's pdf structure is incorrect.
You may want to sanitize the said pdf's before combining and check.

Please help--some text not displayed.

I used to be able to use Reader with no issues but suddenly only the basic text is viewable--Title blocks, big fonts, etc are hidden in solid black rectangles--other computers display these pages fine. Not sure if this began before or after I updated to version 9--but I cant download version 8 to see if this is the problem. Support refered me here for answers but II posted a few days ago but my questions was ignored. Please advise. Thx.

Please follow the steps below.
1) First wrap the 3rd element(some static text) in an individual sub form.
2) Then wrap all these 3 main elements in a parent sub form of type flowed.
3) Now on sub form of 2nd element, write the Javascript in Initialize event as below.
if ( this.parent.text.rawvalue == " " )
this.presence = "hidden";
4) Finally on sub form of 3rd element, write the Javascript in Initialize event as below
if ( this.parent.text.rawvalue == " " )
this.presence = "hidden";
Note: Here text.rawvalue in Javascript is the value of 1st element which is a text field.

Why are some texts not being received on my iPhone but are on my mac

I just got a new iphone 5C. A friend sent me some pics in a text and it didn't show up on my iphone. The text and pics did show up on my mac though. Can anyone tell me if I have something set wrong on my iphone?

If it showed up on your Mac, that was an iMessage - not a text message as in SMS/MMS.
Was the iMessage addressed to your cell phone number or to your Apple ID email address?

Some texts not being able to send with iPhone 6 Plus 8.1

I recently upgraded my iPhone 5 to the new iPhone 6 Plus. Since then, I have noticed some issues with iMessage. I have not had this problem with any of my other iPhones in the past. I am now experiencing problems when I text certain people I get an exclamation mark with a message saying that the message was not delivered. How do I fix this? This happens with a handful of contacts. Others go through just like normal with no problem. My iPhone 6 Plus is updated to the latest software.

Mostly SMS. I had tried sending an employee an imessage earlier and it didn't go through, but he later replied and said that his phone was off during work. Others are SMS messages to non Apple devices that are not being able to send.
