Someone else's picture on my Photostream

First time posting on here so be gently
I've just been looking through my photos on my AppleTV device and found that there is a photo on there that I didn't take (i.e. - Someone elses photo !!).
How is it possible that I have an image from someone else's stream and more importantly, does this mean that my photos could be floating around on someone else's ???
I've also checked on my Mac and the photo doesn't have any location information,  but has a time and date of Feb last year on a day that I was at work.
It's also quite clearly taken in another country and I haven't even been abroad in the past few years (Sad I know ).
Any help on this would be much appreciated.
Cheers all

I don't have an answer, but a possibly related situation (pre-Photostream). Several years ago I was on a cruise and the ship had free wifi all over, including the cabins. I had my MacBook Pro with me, and one day the woman in the cabin next to mine told me that she had opened iPhoto on her own Mac and all my pictures were there. She didn't know what to do and was afraid to delete them, so she left them alone. Later they were gone. I never understood why this would happen.
Also, before I had Photostream, my iPad (I) had only one picture on it, and it was one that I had never seen before and that looked like it was taken in another country.
Could this picture be an Apple "Easter egg"?

  • Apple printed someone else's pictures in my book

Has anyone seen this happen? After carefully assemblying your book, and creating a pdf file to triple check it, Apple prints a book that mixes someone else's order with your own? This is what happened to me. My printed book starts with someone else's pictures and text, followed by the pictures I ordered... And not just that, but the picture pages stick together to the point where they rip when we turn the pages. What do you all think Apple should do about that?

I have been going at it with Apple now for over a month! I ordered a book and it came back with blank pages and with photos not scaled properly. I sent three emails via the iPhoto support page and received no replies. As you stated they promise a response within 48 hrs. Then some two weeks later they had the nerve to send me a survey thanking me for using the web support function and please rate "how we did!" You can only imagine how I responded. I next tried contacting a live person at Apple Care to help me out. I provided them my order number. They indicated that that was not a correct number. Turns out that Apple Care cannot track orders made through iPhoto! No one at Apple Care was even familiar with what an iPhoto book was. I then called Apple corporate hq's and spoke to a "customer care" rep. She assured me I would be contacted within 48 hrs (sound familiar) and my problem would be resolved. I heard nothing for over a week. Calls back to Ms. Graser of customer care were met by voice mail. Finally this week I recieved a canned response back from Apple. They noted that they would credit the charge back to my card. They also asked if I were interested in reordering my book and if so they would "assist" me. I replied that I was interested in trying to reorder the book. So what does Apple do? Without any further contact to find out why the book came back incomplete, they reorder the same %&*#'d up book and recharge my credit card for the full amount (including $15 for express shipping)!
If I were you I would contact my credit card company ASAP. Dispute the charge and they will remove it from your account. My card company did just that without any hesitation.
BUYER BEWARE! Apple provides no support or quality control for this product. DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Good luck!

  • I've got someone else's photos on my photostream

My photostream has disappeared and I now have someone else's photos in my photostream. How do I get rid of them and get my photos back.
I Haven't updated my software or lost any of my apple devices so I don't know why this is happening.

No I don't share my Apple ID or iTunes account, the photos aren't local either. I've now changed my apple password so I think that'll stop it but now all my photos are gone, I assume on someone else's photostream?

  • Why does someone else's picture show up as me when messaging?

Why does someone else's picture show up as me on I pad when messaging?

Sounds like some of the templates provided by apple.  Google lorem ipsum for info on the filler text used.

  • There are someone else's pictures on my mobileme gallery

I've just got an AppleTV and when I look under Internet > MobileMe with my Apple account, there's someone else's gallery. I've a fairly distinct log in so I'm thinking this is unlikely to be someone getting an email address wrong. Also, I've not had any odd emails. I can't understand what they're doing there or how to get rid of them. Any ideas?  Thanks

Nobody could use your email address to set up a MobileMe Gallery. Only people with @me.com email addresses (i.e. full MobileMe acounts) can create galleries.
Possibly you're viewing the gallery of the MobileMe member whose username is the same as the part before the @ in your email address.
Go to http://gallery.me.com/username and see if you get the same gallery come up.

  • Someone else's photos (333 of them) showed up as mounted folder after crash

So iPhoto has been crashing a lot as I have been updating keywords using Keyword Assistant (I recently imported ~3500 pictures). When iPhoto re-opens after a crash, sometimes I lose some of the changes I recently made.
But to my big surprise, when it auto-reopened iPhoto after the most recent crash, I had 333 photos in a mounted folder (with an eject button) labeled "Joe Schmoe's Photos" dated 2006/09/29 to 2007/08/05. I do not know this person, do not recognize the photos, and I seem to have pictures dated through yesterday. I am not a .Mac subscriber, nor do I share my photos online through iPhoto, but it would seem that I have been granted access to Joe Schmoe's photos.
If I indeed have been accidentally granted access to someone else's photos, this is a huge security concern! I have a screen shot of this and will share it with an Apple developer/employee, but do not want to post it here because of privacy issues related to showing someone else's pictures to the world.
If anyone has any ideas of what else might be going on, I'm all ears.
    Note the following:
-I was connected to the internet(wirelessly) at the time of the crash/re-open.
-These photos are not in my library, but seem to be a separate mounted folder.
-The name does not show up in searches of my computer nor in the finder/desktop as a mounted drive.
-There is no exposure info on any of the pictures
-When it crashed and reopened (again, just now), Nathan Bowen's photos are still there, but it seems to take time to load them (like they're downloading perhaps)

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Can I share my iCloud Photostream with someone else with a different Apple ID? How?

Can I share my iCloud Photostream with someone else with a different Apple ID? How?

    Yeah no kidding.
I have a big paid up MobileMe account with tons of gallery stuff - this will all go away for me in July, and I'll miss it - it took no learning to use, and it was built into everything - just intuitive to post to a gallery password protect it, and send a link to a friend.  Click click done!
It bothers me a lot when features I really enjoy and use are pulled in these half baked new apps and services.
iMovie used to be quite good, but the new one is very restrictive - it's a step backwards in some ways.
MobileMe was fine, but iCloud takes away the Gallery???? - another step backward.
We use some iPhones at work for shooting some videos and technical engineering photo's, and while it's pretty cool that the iPhone photo's get put on the photostream of "Jason's iMac", I don't have instant access, and I would really like to be able to do that. If it could be done, then I can stay at home and work sometimes and I can get the photo's automagically.
    Apple - please fix this.

  • Viewing someone else's photostream on a Windows PC.

I received an email invitation to someone else's photostream.   The email is in my work Outlook email.    I have tried everything to figure out how to view the photostream on my windows pc with no success.     Support online says I can use icloud control panel, but I see nothing there.  Any ideas?

Do you have an Apple ID setup as an iCloud account?
    See iCloud: Photo Stream FAQ
To use Photo Stream, including Shared Photo Streams, you need an iCloud account, compatible devices, and up-to-date software:…
PC with Windows 7 or Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) and the iCloud Control Panel v2.0 or later for Windows
    Further down it says:
Friends and family with iCloud accounts can view your photos in the Photos app on any device using iOS 6 or later; on a Mac in iPhoto 9.4 or Aperture 3.4 or later; on a Windows PC with Windows Vista or later and iCloud Control Panel 2.0 or later installed; or on a second generation or later Apple TV with software version 5.1 or later installed. They can also view your photos on the web if you enable Public Website in the settings or options for your Shared Photo Stream.
(So they can enable Public Website viewing to allow you to see them with a browser even if you don't have an iCloud account.)
See also Creating an iCloud account: Frequently Asked Questions
Which states you must setup your Apple ID as an iCloud account on a Mac or iOS device.
You can sign up for iCloud on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5 or later, or through System Preferences on a Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.4 or later. Just follow the setup instructions for your iOS device or Mac.
    Does that work for you?

You did not get an email, you got a MMS. You have to enable MMS on your phone before you can see the picture.

  • Has anyone ever noticed that pictures of self change position (when taken with someone else)?

When you take a picture of yourself (and someone else) - their positions change. I would be on the right of them. When reviewing the picture, their position changes and now I'm on the left...

It's when you turn the camera onto yourself (and when you're taking a picture of yourself and someone else)

  • Is there a way to download someone else's iphone pictures to my computer without interfering with my iphone backup/ itunes?

is there a way to download someone else's iphone pictures to my computer without interfering with my iphone itunes backup?

Ensure that your iTunes is set up so it will not sync automatically. Then you can connect the other iPhone to your computer and import the photos in the same manner that you import photos from your phone and/or a digital camera.

  • Is there a way to download someone else's iphone pictures to my computer without interfering with my iphone itune

is there a way to download someone else's iphone pictures to my computer without interfering with my iphone itunes?

    Yes.
Photos/videos in the iPhone's Camera Roll can be imported by a computer as with any other digitial camera, which is completely separate from iTunes and does not involve iTunes.
I sync my iPhone with iTunes on my Mac and I sometimes import photos from my iPhone's Camera Roll with my Windows PC at work.

  • Is Someone Else Using My Email For Their Device?

One evening, a question popped up on my iPod touch when I was using it asking if some person could use it for my facetime,
I tried to deny it, but it kept popping up everytime i would try to deny it, I got frustrated so I just accepted it.
During a messaging conversation, messages that weren't from me started popping up into the conversation
and when I was facetiming, the person I was talking to said someone else appeared on her screen instead of me.
Not only that, but pictures of the person are showing in my photos and in my photostream.
    How do I stop this?
