You must be trying to sync it with a different computer than the one it used last. No, there is no other way to do this.
The iPhone may be synced to one and only one computer at any given time. If you choose to sync it to another, you can do that as often as you wish, but its content is erased first.

My 4 month old MacBook Pro 15" running 10.6.2 lobotomized itself and I had to have a new HD put in it. I backed up the old one w/ TM on an external HD. I've tried (by the book, and with direct verbal guidance from the Help People at Apple) to restore the system and files but every time it gets to 10.2% in the restoration process and then I get this message: "An error occurred while restoring from the backup. Please restart." and under the frozen progress bar is the chilling line: "Files can't be restored." I've tried restoring from several dates on the TM backup list but it always stops at 10.2% completion. Help!

Start by booting from your SL install disc, and selecting Utilities from the menubar, but before going on to +Restore System from Backups,+ instead select +Disk Utility.+
Make +*absolutely certain+* that your internal HD has the GUID *Partition Map Scheme* and the +Mac OS Extended (Journaled)+ Format (unless you're sure it should be +Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive, journaled).+
Then do a +*Repair Disk+* (not permissions) on your Time Machine drive.
If that succeeds, quit Disk Utility, then continue with the full restore (per #14 in the FAQ).
But if that finds errors it can't fix, it's possible that +Disk Warrior+ can fix them. It's about $100, and is probably a good long-term investment, but there's no guarantee.
If all else fails, go back to Disk Utility and erase your internal HD, then install OSX. When your Mac restarts, use +Setup Assistant+ to transfer your users, apps, settings, and data from your backups (see #19 in the FAQ).
Then download and instal the "combo" update to get back to 10.6.2. Info and download available at: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL959 (or http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1017 for 10.6.3).
Be sure to do a +Repair Permissions+ via Disk Utility afterwards. -

If you want to restore the settings and data from your old phone to your new one, restore from the backup of your old phone (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2109). You will still have to sync with iTunes to transfer apps, music, and other iTunes media back to your phone.

Take it to an Apple Store for assistance. However, the iPad will be returned to its out of the box configuration (erased). You may be asked to provide proof that the iPad is yours.

I plugged my ipod touch into my computer to sync it and it came up with an error message saying that it encoutered an internal error and it refused to sync.
I then unplugged it and plugged it back in and this time it told me that I needed to restore from a backup or set it up as a new ipod. I tried to restore from a backup but it came up with the error message "Backup session failed" every time. I then looked on my ipod and all of my music and movies are gone though it still says that they are on the ipod in itunes. I decided to use the restore function and let that finish. After restoring it still doesn't allow me to sync or back up and The music and movies can still not be seen. I am currently attempting to copy the music and movies to my ipod though this did not work with my apps as they transfered but when I attempted to open them they just crash... If someone could please help me it would be great. It is driving me crazy.If you get an error that says can't backup, try moving the existing backup file to a safe location and thry again. again. I wrote a class that will need to be instantiated with unknown instances later. I decided to use a Vector to do this. However when I created the vector:

I'm really not sure how I can set this. The class is of course Users and I want to set user as the Vector but specify Users as the Object Type. Any help? By the way I heard Java has a dynamic array feature is this true? I heard you had to use Vectors for Java. Also how can I free up the memory when I'm done with the class?Suppose class User looks like this:

iPod touches or any iDevices from Apple sync only to one computer. If you sync to a different computer, all your music will be replace with the music from the new computer's iTunes. If the music were purchased from iTunes, you can re-download them again otherwise the music on iPod touch will be deleted. Do you have iTunes backup?

WIth the updated IOS 8.1.2 on my iphone 4S i can't seem to delete apps permanently. Can somebody tall me how i can delete apps please.
Are you syncing with iTunes?
If so, then you must mark the Apps that you have deleted in iTunes to not reload. If this isn't done they will return after a sync. -

Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..
