Song from iTunes doesn't play in full

Recently downloaded an album from iTunes but track 1 of said album doesn't play in full.  I've downloaded the album as well as the track in question; nothing changed.  Anyone else have this problem?  If so how did you solve it?

Delete and redownload it if doing so is free in your country. If it isn’t free or doesn’t resolve the issue, click here and contact Apple.

  • Downloaded Songs From iTunes Won't Play

I downloaded three songs from iTunes. The songs were downloading, and stalled during processing. I restarted iTunes canceling the downloads. When I went back to re-download, it told me that the songs had already been purchased. I checked for the purchases, and they showed up on the document. However, they still did not show up in my download list. So, I redownloaded them. They downloaded fully, but now they will not play. All my other songs play fine, including songs downloaded during the same period. Why aren't these songs playing?

    Hi there jayc401,
You may want to try deleting those tracks from the device and downloading them again from the iTunes Store. Take a look at the article below for more information.

  • My burned audio CD/DVD from iTunes doesn't play on a CD/DVD audio player

If I burn audio CD or DVD from my iTunes, I cannot play this music on an external player. Any recommendations? Thanks
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Hi I just burned an MP3 CD straight from iTunes, and it doesn't play on any MP3 CD player I've tried it on (car MP3 deck, DVD player that plays audio CDs, and MP3s). Audio CDs burned from iTunes work fine though.
I've read somewhere, that when burning MP3 CDs from iTunes, iTunes burns it with Apples standard format, rather than CD players standard format of ISO 9660. And that is the reason why burned MP3 CDs from iTunes only plays on a Mac.
A work around I've done was select all the songs from my list duplicate them in another folder, and then reconvert them in MP3s (so that I don't have to search all over the place for each MP3 file). I then burned these MP3s onto a CD-R using toast's MP3 CD format. And it works on all my MP3 CD players. However, in doing this process, I've lost all the tags for each MP3. The only thing that comes up in the display is the name of the song. Artist, Album, etc... don't show up anymore.
Is there a way of burning an MP3 CD that will play on all MP3 enabled players, while keeping all ID Tags intact, in iTunes?
    Thanks.

  • Audio from itunes doesn't play well in imovie HD 6

I have quicktime 7.1 and imovie HD 6 and my audio from itunes plays only for a few seconds and goes out and doesn't play anymore throughout the movie. I'm only using photos and no transitions at the moment. It worked completely fine before upgrading to ilife 06. What am I doing wrong?

    Hello Tia,
iMovie has quite an issue with Music Store files. See Karl Petersens post: Stutter in iMovie 5 & 6 — causes and workarounds
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=534252&tstart=0
What you are looking for is workaround No. 5: Burn iTunes Songs to Audio CD
Generally it is recommended to work with AIFF files in iMovie/iDVD. To convert your iTunes music go to Preferences > Importing and choose AIFF Encoder from the drop-down menu. Now all music will be imported as AIFF. In addition to that you can ctrl-click existing files and choose "Convert to AIFF" from the pop-up menu.
Note that this will duplicate the files, so after conversion you'll have for example one m4p and one AIFF with the same name.
    hope this helps

  • Purchased songs from Itunes STILL not playing on ipod mini

I read all the posts about this issue, of purchased Itunes songs not playing on ipod. I deauthorized the computer and all computers associated with the account. then re authorized them. I reset the ipod several times, and also restored the ipod. I reinstalled the itunes software. I changed the sync to manual. removed one of the purchased songs. reauthorized the computer, then manually added the song back. I renamed the song. I even tried with downloading the free song. Any other suggestions. It made me look bad when after all of this I still could not fix the users issue. Other than declaring it a HARDWARE issue, I thought there could be a registry setting with the authorizing that did not happen properly. Has anyone else experienced this issue , and NOT been able to fix it. It would really appreciate any advice. My only conclusion was hardware, and the user states they had already spoke with apple who declined to help.

It may be an authorization issue. Both iTunes and the iPod need to be up-to-date.
Usually, you need to play at least a part of songs purchased from the iTMS within iTunes to authorize them. They won't copy to your iPod until you do this.
How to transfer Purchased Music from iTunes to your iPod
    iTMS Song and Computer Authorization
If you've played & authorized them in iTunes and they still skip, try this. De-authorize the computer in iTunes/Advanced menu, then re-authorize it. You re-authorize it by playing one of the songs purchased from the iTunes Music Store within iTunes. It should ask you for your Apple ID and password, and then the computer will be authorized again. Sync your iPod with iTunes, and those songs should play on the iPod once again.
Another common cause of this is not having the latest version of iTunes.
If you are using the latest version of iTunes (6.0.4), then you need to make sure your iPod software is up to date also. Get the iPod Updater software, install it, run it and update your iPod.
When you have done this, authorize your music in iTunes by playing a few seconds of it within iTunes, re-sync your iPod, and it should transfer by whatever synching method you choose.
If the above 'standard' fixes did not help, then it's a bigger problem that I can diagnose...

  • I bought 2 songs from itunes and one plays for 43 seconds and stops and the other places for 1 minutes and 40 seconds and stops

I bought the song "You" by Chris Young and the song "Yesterday" by the Beatles and they played fine for a period of time.  However one day about 4 months ago, when I would play either song, the song would play normal for an amount of time ( "You" for 1 minute and 42 seconds and "Yesterday" for 29 seconds) and then the song would stop playing on my iPod touch 3rd gen.  When I played the songs on iTunes, it would just go to the next song.  I contacted Apple support through email, and they responded promptly with a reponse and a solution!  The lady helping me accessed my account and made it so that the song "redownload" I guess because thats what happened when I signed on to iTunes and the two songs were loading.  Well I think I heard the songs once or twice and now they are doing it again!  The songs stops at those same times and will not play.  What is the solution?

    - Try a reset. it cures many ill and nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    - Does it play in iTunes on the computer?
    - Delete the song and redownload it by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    - Ask iTunes for a redownload.

  • Songs from Itunes store quit playing midstream

I just down loaded a lot of songs, and a lot of them are skipping to the next song every time it gets to the same place in the song. ....not all are doing this...but most. I have the most recent Itunes installed, and am on a windows 7 pc. I created a new user account in windows, and it still did the same thing, so it has nothing to do with my actual windows account... I'm VERY frustrated! Please help if you can!

If the fixes suggested by btabz don't work, try this.
    1. Deauthorize the computer.
    2. Create a new user in the system.
    3. Download the free song of the week from the iTMS in the new user account.
    4. Play the song in that user account to authorize again.
    5. Restore the iPod (using the iPod updater) in the new user account.
    6. Sync just the free song of the week and see if it plays on the iPod.
If it does, you appear to have a corrupted iTunes library file, and you should recreate the iTunes library file in your normal user account, and then sync your music back to the iPod and all should be well.

  • My music from itunes doesn't play on my new iPhone

i have recently upgraded my iPhone from the 4 to the 4s, i have transferred everything from my old phone to my new one without any problems but when i go to play some music which i bought off iTunes it is not playing, and if it is an album it will skip through all the songs and not play one, this has only happened with 3 or 4 albums does anyone know how i can get it playing again or will i have to buy it all again

For difficulties transferring iTunes purchases, see this.
iPod does not play content purchased from the iTMS.
If you have made sure that both the iTunes and iPod software are current and have deauthorized and reauthorized your computer, try this test:

  • Imported song from iTunes but only plays 8 bars, how do I get it to play the entire song?

I Am writing a song and using a instrumental as part of background. I imported to garage band by dragging it. It plays 8 bars then stops. I am missing something very obvious.

You need to change the length of the song section - best set it to automatic, before you add the audio file.
See this help page (assuming you are using GarageBAnd 2 on an iPad - which GarageBAnd version are you using?):
    http://help.apple.com/garageband/ipad/2.0/index.html#chs3c3ef5dc
Change the length of a section
Open the song section controls and tap the section you want to change.
Tap the up or down arrow next to Manual to lengthen or shorten the section incrementally by bars. You can swipe vertically to change it in larger values.
If you want the section to match the length of your next recording (to the nearest bar), turn on Automatic before you record. This is especially useful when recording improvisations or longer parts. The Automatic option is available only for the last (rightmost) section in a song.
Tap anywhere in Tracks view to close the song section controls.
When you shorten a section, any regions extending past the end of the section are shortened. When you lengthen a section, all regions that extend from the beginning to the end of the section now loop to the new end of the section. A section can be any number of bars, and the overall song can be up to 320 bars long.

  • CD burnt from iTunes doesn't play on my stereo - help???

I can play the CD that I burned on my laptop but it won't play on my stereo. Is there a step I'm missing? I did notice that the songs "type of file" is listed as MPEG-3. Do I need to convert the files on the CD so I can play them on my stereo?

" I did notice that the songs "type of file" is
    listed as MPEG-3."
Most likely there's your problem. As the previous
poster noted, you look like you burnt the cd as an
mp3 cd and not an audio cd. mp3 cds don't play on
regular cd players unless it's one of the newer cd
    players specifically with this capability.
The burning settings referred to are under
    edit/preferences/advanced/burning.
Make the sure the disc format selected is audio cd.
THANK YOU!!! That solved my problem! I asked a several people including some IT guys I know and known of them knew how to fix it.

  • Songs Purchased from iTunes Won't Play on iPod

I purchased some songs from iTunes. They play perfectly fine on my computer through iTunes. However, when I disconnect my iPod from my computer and try to listen to those songs with my headphones or in my car through my iTrip, my iPod just skips over those songs and goes to the next song in the shuffle. Or when I try to play the whole album, it'll show 1, then 2, then 3, and so on...it skips through the whole album then ends up at the main screen without playing a single song. I've tried deauthorizing/reauthorizing my computer, I've restored my iPod many times, I've cleared my library and restored it with my backup files, I've uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, I tried using an old updater to get the previous iPod software, but that doesn't play vidoes, and I've done all of the above on three different USB ports.
I've called Tech Support many times and they keep telling me the same thing and nothing works.
So, I finally made my way into traffic-congested Tysons Corner to the nearest Apple Store and all the guy could tell me was that the file was corrupted and to re-download my purchases. So, I go back home, get on iTunes, search for my purchases and I'm told that my purchases can only be downloaded once.
OMG! Someone help! Is there anyone out there having the same problem!??!?!
    Dell Dimension 4550   Windows XP

Enable the iPod for disk use. See How to enable disk use.
Go to "my computer" and from the tools menu/folder options/view tab, enable "show hidden files and folders" in the advanced settings pane. Open the iPod in "my computer". Look for a file called "iEKinfo". Is it there? If so, make a copy of this file and save it somewhere easy to find (the desktop for instance). Do this also with the "iTunes DB" file. Don't worry if you can't see these files.
Create a new administrator account. Log out of the current account and log in to the new one. Then restore the iPod to factory settings.
Open iTunes, connect the iPod and set the transfer preferences to manual transfer. Then download the free single of the week from the iTunes Music Store. Verify that song plays in iTunes.
Now, drag this song only to the iPod, and eject the iPod from iTunes and disconnect it from the computer.
Does the song play on the iPod ok? If so, log out of the new user account and log back in to your normal one (the one you have issues with) and reconnect the iPod to the computer. Keep manual transfer selected for the moment. Drag some of the older purchased music (the ones that wouldn't play before) to the iPod.
Eject the iPod and disconnect it. Do those songs now play ok?
If not, first try this step.
Delete the SC Info.sidb file. Open iTunes again.
Now transfer some of the affected music to the iPod again. Does it play ok?

  • Downloaded song from iTunes and loaded on my iPhone, song won't start when I push play

Downloaded songs from iTunes won't play on my iPhone 3G.  Others songs play just fine and songs will play through iTunes.

Was it downloaded with the same account that your iPhone is logged in to?

  • Volume on downloaded song from itunes

  • HT1725 When I download a song from iTunes into my library, it often says it has downloaded, charges me for it, and on the song in my library shows the full playing time. However, when I play the song, at around halfway through it skips to the next song?

When I download a song from iTunes into my library, it often says it has downloaded, charges me for it, and on the song in my library shows the full playing time. However, when I play the song, at around halfway through it skips to the next song?
    i'm just wondering:
    a) why it does this
and b) how to stop it doing this, because it still charges me for the song :/

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.
