  • Problems after firmware update 52.0.007

    Hi,
I got my phone back after the shop fixed a problem and updated the firmware to the latest version 52.0.007.
But now I have following problems:
I can't get the calendar anymore to show up on the homescreen, even after checking the checkbox to do so
    The Radio app. is gone
Does anyone has a solution for this?
    Iwan

It may sound crazy but sometimes you need to "hard reset" device after firmware update (beware all data erased) by keying in *#7370# followed by 12345 (default Nokia lock code unless altered by yourself). Sometimes UDP = User Data Prersevation feature of 5800XM can carry over corrupt entries when updating.

  • C3-01 Problems After Firmware Update

After updating the firmware from v5.65 to v6.0 the phone lost some features -namely:
    Chat
    Media Player
    Ovi Store
    "Favorite Contacts" on homescreen
    default wallpapers
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Finally, I've fixed the problem!
Going back, I updated the phone from 5.65 to 6.0 via OTA(over-the-air) update -in other words, I updated the firmware using the phone while connected to my home wi-fi network.
In desperation to find a solution, I hesitantly re-updated the phone... But this time via PC.
I opened Ovi Suite and updated the phone -again, expecting it would reinstall version 6.0 .
After the update, all the apps that I've lost came back.
I then checked to confirm if it was indeed version 6.0 -alas, it was not... It was version 6.05.
Now, everything is working as it should be; mail, chat, ovistore, calculator, favorite contacts on homescreen -everything!
It feels good to figure it out all by myself.  Hehehehe!!

  • Audio in problem after firmware update

    hey all,
I've recently started using garageband to record and play around with my music, and I love it. Unfortunately, after installing the recent firmware update, my computer's audio in jack doesn't work anymore. It recognizes that there's something plugged in, but instead of having an signal, I get this clicking that clips the audio input at almost any input volume. I have tried it both with my bass and just the cable, and I have also just plugged some headphones into the jack- same results for everything. Is there anything i can do about it or do I just have to wait for another firmware update before I can use garageband again?
    2.2Ghz Macbook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

well what happened was I was updating iTunes (7.3.1) and the updater said a quicktime update and a firmware update were both available so I downloaded and installed and now the problem. It's like a really fast click track when I plug in and it's not just in garageband, I'm getting it in the audio-in option in the system preferences menu. Do you think doing a system restore would solve this problem?
PS- I believe the update was something along the lines of a "kmbp firmware update" I think that's what it was called... :/

  • Overheating problem after firmware update

    Hi,
A friend of mine noticed a CPU temperature increase in between 10 and 15 per cent, after the MacBook EFI Firmware Update 1.1. Has anyone else noticed a similar behavior? Any ideas or suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,

But testing with the HP diagnostics says the hardware is fine. I

    Ken
may i ask what kind of dependency issues you're facing? i've installed the SP2 (kernel 3.0.x) based package last weekend without any issues on a default kernel. are you sure that you've grabbed the rpm matching your kernel version?

  • N78 problems after firmware update

I have recently updated my N78 (RM235) firmware to 13.052.231.6.
Before the update the internal GPS worked very well, finding satellites quickly and holding a strong lock. After the update the GPS is very poor, taking a long time to find satellites and loosing signal very easily.
Can anyone help with this problem or tell me how to re-install the previous firmware?

Has everything else stayed the same and only the GPS antenna reception got worse?
If that is the case you are right, but maybe the update made other improvements and for some reason one of them worsened the GPS antenna...just guessing...

  • E3000 problems after firmware update

It seems internet browsing doesn't work after the firmware update.  Everything else works , aim steam msn, bittorent but anything http related will not work.

on both computers i have run some tests
    ping 127.0.0.1 -fine
    ping 192.168.2.1 - fine (gateway)
    ping 192.168.2.3 (another computer) fine
    ping 192.168.2.254 dsl modem (fine)
    ping www.comcast.net fail
I have thought it could be the DSL modem but it works  just fine when i use my Belkin pre-n router and the Belkin never needs a power cycle.
I can get HTTP functions when i reboot the router.
I have also set up a DYNDNS to see if a friend could ping me and connect to  a server for me thru my IP address and it was successful its just websites and this is happening on all the computers and playstations (theres 2)

  • Scanjet 7000n EWS problem after firmware update

I recently upgraded the firmware on our 7000n scanner in the hopes it would add smtp over ssl. I updated the firmware by uploading it via the embedded web server. The update appeared to go smoothly with no problems or errors, however, the embedded web server no longer functions properly.
If I  enter the IP into the web browser it initially takes me to a blank page. I can refresh the page and then the "home page" of the scanner comes up. If I click the admin login, the login page comes up, but after logging in, I once again receive a blank page. At this point, refreshing the page does not work, but if I remove "/hp/device/SignIn/Index" and hit enter, the page comes back up and I am logged in as administrator.
The main problem comes when I go to try to reconfigure email settings. I can make it to "/hp/device/Send/Index"  where I select the check box for the server I want to edit, but once again, clicking edit takes me to a blank page.  At this point I can hit enter in the address bar, and it will bring the email settings page back up, but I never get to the Edit page after hitting the edit button.
I tried reflashing the firmware from a USB flashdrive, which also completed with no problems, but the EWS issue is still present.
I haven't been able to find any information about the issue online, and all google searches I've tried just bring up pages on how to install the firmware, and information on using the embedded web server, so it doesn't appear to be a common issue.
Does anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this?

    Hello there,
To get your issue more exposure, I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since your product is a commercial product. You can do this at Commercial Forums.

I updated my nokia 5800 yesterday to  the new firmware v50. But today the whole touchscreen does not work at all. Only the three physical buttons and the unlock button on the side works. I have tried to turn it of but it did not help. I took out the battery and the memory card but i have still the same problem. Does anyone of you know what is wrong?

  • N78 GPS problems after firmware update

I have just updated my N78 firmware to 13.052. Before the upgrade the GPS worked really well but after it struggles to lock on and hold position. It took an hour to find satellites earlier and as soon as i picked the phone up it lost its position.
Has anyone else had a similar problem?
Is it possible to reload the previous firmware?

    I had the same experience.
Yesterday roaming across forums I saw a post suggesting a phone reset as simple as tooking out the battery for ten seconds and restarting the phone.
Well, I opened the back cover, took out the battery for around ten seconds and closed the phone being careful to align the pins of the internal GPS antenna to the back cover  GPS antenna.
Then I restarted the phone and after two minutes it sees four satellites, and after five minutes nine satellites, completing the fix in less than five minutes.
Today, the GPS is still working (I tried the fix ten minutes ago with the same times).
Therefore, I consider the problem solved.
Moreover, the internal GPS now works also with Google Maps, and this according to my opinion demonstrates that probably the problem is not Nokia Maps 3.0 , because I am using Nokia Maps 3.0 and Map Loader 3.0 .

  • 5800 problems after firmware update

    Hi!
I've just updated my the firmware of my phone to v50. At firs everything seemed OK, but every time  I unlock it and try to enter the applications folder nothing happens. I can still enter it by selecting options-> open and after a couple of minutes it suddenly starts to work again but as soon as I lock the phone (or it locks by itself) and unlock it again the problem returns. What the hell am I supposed to do? Can I go back to firmware v40 - it was working just fine, and the new kinetic scroll is **bleep** anyway... Please, please, please help... I'm starting to lose my patience with this piece of junk...

  • E71 Backup/Restore problem after firmware update

after i restore the data using the PC suite, I'm facing a connectivity problem, No MMS and web browsing are working, even after i re-install the settings from the provider and setup wizard, same thing, even the wireless connectivity is not working.
note that they are working be4 i do the restore (plain phone).
    any recommendation.
It's never too late to learn ....

I upgraded my firmware (why do nokia call it 'software'?), which i kind of regret now. I don't see any difference to my phone, plus i hit a major problem.
Before upgrading i backed-up my phone.
After upgrading firmware i tried to restore the backup to my phone - wouldn't work!?!?!?!?! - plus the phone said that i had a massive error and had to take my phone back to retailer. it would not restart.
    Seriously crazy
    FIX:
'Hard-reset' the phone (erases memory and takes you back to basic nokia phone software) -  While turning the phone on you hold down 3 buttons: " green-phone & 3 & * ". Hold down for about 10 sec's. The phone should start working again with the new firmware - albeit with only basic settings.
Go to the backup-restore, and restore from your last backup.
         HOWEVER, UNTICK 'phone settings'.
This should get almost everything back for you (calendar, contacts, etc), except for any software that you had previously downloaded and installed on your phone (e.g. google maps, fring, skype, youtube, etc). Easy enough to download & install again. Also, you might want to ring your phone company and get them to mms you the configuration settings for internet and mms again.
WHY WAS THERE A PROBLEM? I believe that the old settings of the previous firmware are NOT compatible with the new firmware. This makes the phone effectively stop working when you restore the backup.

  • Connection problem after firmware update 7.5.2

Until I update 7.5.2, my Airport Extreme station worked fine. But now every time my computer starts it fails to connect to the station. I have to recreate à new connection on my MBP or I have to disable and enable Airport repeatedly to establish a connection. (No connecting problems with my Iphone, but same problem with another MBP).
    Need some help, thanks

The question of which channel to use is very dependent upon your environment. Probably the #1 item to work through is finding a channel that is relatively free of other interference. This is especially true of the 2.4 GHz band (802.11 b/g) which has been used for quite a few applications. This includes:
    - Other WiFi base Stations
    - Bluetooth devices
    - Microwave Ovens
    - Some Cordless phones.
In the case of Cordless Phones and other Base stations, these can often be from your neighbors, so you may have to use trial and error to find a channel.
In my particular case, all of the devices which were failing were trying to use the 2.4 GHz band on 802.11 b/g. When it was set to "Automatic" the Base Station software indicated that my base station was using Channel 1. I just set it to Manual and selected Channel 3 and things started working for me. (Since it required me to make a selection for the 5 GHz band, I whose Channel 48 for that)
The key in any situation is to find one not in use by other devices. Normally, selection of "Automatic" allows the Base station to make this choice by listening when it is not broadcasting and trying to sense other items on the same channel. However, this doesn't always work 100% because your end device (like your PC) may be closer to the other source of interference and it can "hear" transmissions that the base station cannot.
What I find strange is that this inability to select a free channel appears to have been triggered by the firmware upgrade, so perhaps there is something in this new firmware which doesn't do as good of a job of finding the clear channel to use.
I hope this helps someone else out there as well!
