  • Embedded Youtube video sound issues HELP!!

    Hello.
    This is my site http://mattpartridgeanimation.com/
In my 'animation' section I'm loading youtube clips to my site using this AS3 script found here.
This all works fine but when i use my buttons created in flash to load the new container_mc, the sound of the old video keeps playing. Does anyone know any AS3 script that will stop the youtube video sound playing when you click to load another video.
I'm pretty new to all this so any help would be great. Cheers

    Hi,
I found the same problem but, according to YouTube AS3 API reference, I solved it with the special function:
    player.destroy();
It works. Just replace "player" with the instance name of your youtube player.
    Quote from the documentation:
You should always call player.destroy() to unload a YouTube player. This function will close the NetStream object and stop additional videos from downloading after the player has been unloaded. If your code contains additional references to the player SWF, you also need to destroy those references separately when you unload the player.
    Best,
    Toz

  • Sound issues Help please

Hi Guys I’m having audio issue and cant figure out where the problem lies? Audio interface which I’ve had under a year, I’m on a macbook 4gb of ram running mavricks
heres what happened the other day I had my monitors working in reason and everything else, i use soundflower to adjust my volume via my mac and not the soundcard so as always i had the output in reason as soundflower 2ch, which goes to my monitor, reason was lagging due to over usage on the cpu so i adjusted the buffer rate and sample rate all of a sudden i get no audio through soundflower therefore no audio through monitors, so I re-install soundflower and nothing happens... I try and play audio in Itunes directly through my audio interface and i get very very very glitchy stuttering audio, so I assumed the problem was my AI but today i got my carer to play with the wires i plug it in and first try audio in itunes going directly to my AI and it works!!! I then try going through soundflower (to give me volume control) and tahdah!!! it works, so i go into reason play audio through my built in output to check audios working and it is, i go to preferences in reason and select soundflower 2ch and press play... no audio!!! I go back to Itunes and get nothing through soundflower i select just my AI and i get the same glitched up audio as before what on earth is happening

    Try reset the SMC:
    1. shut down the MAC
    2. Plug in the MacSafe adapter (i.e.power cord/charger)
    3. PRESS AND HOLD SHIFT+CONTROL+OPTION+POWER buttons at the same time
    4. Release all keys and buttons simultaneously
    5. press the power button to turn on your mac as usual

  • HP Envy 4-1215dx Sound Issues

Hi, I own an HP Envy 4-1215dx. It's a great unit overall, but I am having problems with the audio on it. From the day I took it out of the box it will randomly spew out quick bursts of buzzing/crackling/digital noise whenever I try and play some sort of media, it will appear to have stopped for a while but then start doing it again, it is quite intermitten. It does it with sound from the internet such as youtube, playing MP3's, and even in Games. It is extremely irritating and I need to find a solution. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the audio drivers and have had no luck. Doing a quick google search, I found out that there are several other people with the same problem, yet the only answer they get back is to reinstall the drivers. I have done this already and it does not fix the problem. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hello Livingedge,
I understand that the driver is an older version. This is the version that is available for your specific product on the HP Driver & Software page. I have been able to locate a driver that is also IDT, but the release date is 2013-09-30. I have included that driver here for you 'IDT High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver'.
If this driver fails to resolve the sound issue, I would keep an eye on the 'HP Driver & Software' page. This is where if and any updates are available, will be provided here.
    Thank you.

  • Sound issues with MacBook Pro

I am experiencing sound issues with my MacBook Pro. I am using a headset and when I am on a skype calsl I have a hard time hearing the other person, the sound is coming in and out and sounds digitized. This issue only started recently, the sound had been working fine for years before this issue.

I do not use Skype, but may be  information from the  below linked article helpful.

  • What is a packet problem? I'm having sound issues.

I'm at my wit's end. I am having sound issues. I've run diagnostic tests and everything comes back as OK, but it's not OK! Something somewhere is messed up and I can't figure it out.
I have been to the help rooms on paltlak and opened up support tickets and everything they told me to try has not helped. They suggested I change the sound tuning on my chat program, change exceptions on my firewall, uninstall and reinstall chat program, uninstall and install earlier version, download drivers for sound card, and etc. Nothing is helping this problem.
Someone mentioned that it may be router problems or packet problems. I'm not sure what that means, and that is why I'm on this forum asking for help. I have no other sound problems on my computer. My music and videos play fine. It's just when I'm in a voice enabled chat, do I experience these problems, or if I'm on a website that has videos, the video will not load all the way, so I only get 30 seconds of a video. Does anyone know what could be causing this?
I have used this chat service for over 5 years and up until a week or so ago, it worked fine. I did a complete reformat of my computer in hopes that it would help, but I'm still having the same problems. I lose sound within 5 seconds of entering the chat room. Then it takes between 3-5 minutes before I hear sound again, but then I only hear it for a few seconds. Then it goes away for another few minutes. Repeat. Over and over again.
I'm running Windows Vista on an Acer Aspire 380 with wireless cable modem. I keep losing sound in any voice/sound enabled chat and on any site that has videos. I have 1gig of ram, 300 gb hard drive, 32 bit operating system, 2 processor cores, directx version 9, realtek sound card. Everything is up to date, and firmware is up to date. My speed test is: download: 6.162 mbps and upload: 926 kbps.
When I do the ipconfig/all, it shows
Tunnel adapter local aera connection* 6: Media State: Media disconnected
    description: teredo tunneling pseudo-interface
    dhcp enabled: no
    autoconfiguration enabled: yes
I don't know if this has anything to do with my sound issues on the chat program or not. ??
    Also shows:
    node type: hybrid
    dhcp enabled: yes
    autoconfiguration enabled: yes
    default gateway: 192.168.1.1
    dhcp server: 192.168.1.1
    netbios over tcpip: enabled
If by chance it is a packet problem, how do I fix that?

Hi. Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, it just started recently and after not being able to fix the problem, I completely reformatted my computer and started with a fresh slate, but still having the same problems. The videos will not continue to load. They get less than half way and then just totally stop loading, therefore I only get to view the video up to the point where it stops loading. I just took your advice and I disconnected the router and connected my computer directly to the modem and my sound issues were fixed. I went into the voice chat and had sound for over 10 minutes (and then I disconnected) instead of the usual 5 seconds that it'd been. So is it the linksys that is causing this? If so, how can I fix it? Thank-you. Message Edited by nightrider7000 on 01-22-2008 11:34 AM

But! I noticed something. I can't add my soundcard as my default one, but I can sure see it in alsamixer if I pick it.
I have been trying what the wiki been saying, either do it by kernel or use of the ~/.asoundrc which doesnt work as I get the message that the file is either to old or corrupted.

wrong approach - if using gnome-shell it does need to be there.
I not only have an idea ~ but i do know how to fix your problem (i just need to read up, because off-hand i can't tell you how to do it).
i ALWAYS disable PA - because it is crap!   i also think it is stupid that gnome -developers decided to make it a static dependency, when there are so many issues with it.
i'll get back to you in a little while, okay?  (sometime later tonight, i just got home from work and need to relax / eat / etc..

  • Sound Issues with Mac OS X 10.4.10 ?

I had successfully updated to 10.4.10. However, now whenever I use iTunes and start a song, I get a "Pop" noise from my Creature II speaker system. After I stop the song and a few seconds later, I get a "Pop" noise from my speakers. So, it sounds like the MacMini is initializing the speaker before and after playing sound through the sound card. I don't know. Has anyone has issues with this "Pop" noise? Is there a setting I can look at to get rid of this "initializing" sound? This is driving me nuts! I do not remember this "Pop" sound during my normal usage under 10.4.9. Thanks, Tony.

My wife's mini had a similar issue. She upgraded to 10.4.10 and her sound stopped working. She would also get the login screen freezes. Where her computer is located, turning off Airport is not an option, and the sound issue is very frustrating. I helped her restore her entire computer from a 10.4.9 backup she had made just a couple days before, and while the lockup problems are gone, the headphone jack still will not output sound. Just two pops when you plug the speakers in, and that's it. I've tried resetting the PMU with no luck. I hope Apple fixes whatever it is they screwed up, and soon. I won't be applying 10.4.10 to any of my other machines.

  • VOIP Sound Issues

Hi I have a new MacBook Pro and am experiencing terrible sound issues with both iChat and my VOIP. I use a belkin router for the Linksys modem from Verizon.
    1. Will speakers help with the iChat Sound
    2. What router do you recommend for VOIP. Will Airport Extreme work?
    3. Any tips for getting this working right?

Please describe your sound issues in more detail. What exactly do you hear or don't you hear?
Could it be a right speaker distortion as described in this thread?

  • Speakers sound issue on Envy 14 Beats Edition

    Hi all,
For few days now, my one year Envy 14 has a weird speakers sound issue. When the sound level passes over 50%, there is a lot of scratches and distorsion on the speaker, in that case, it is not usable at all.
Note that this issue does not happen on the jack outputs, with a headset, the sound is perfect, or it is as it also was on the speakers some days ago.
I'm posting here to be able to find the source of the issue. My Envy runs Ubuntu from the beginning, I've just tested with a old Ubuntu LiveCD and the problem is the same, so this is not a Ubuntu or software issue.
Now, my main question is does this come from the speakers themselves? From the audio board? From the main board? How can I diagnose?
    Thanks for your help.

I have the same exact problem with mine. I have a problem with my webcam as well. They are both hardware problems and need to new parts. If I knew where to get them I would have have told you.

  • Intermittent Sound Issues - HP Pavillion dv6700 Entertainment Laptop

    Hi,
I have a HP Pavillion dv6700 Entertainment Laptop running Windows Vista 32bit Home Premium and have been running into some strange sound issues first.
First, on occassion when I start my laptop I will get a "No Audio Output Device Installed" Message, and no sound controllers show up in the device manager.  Strangely, sometimes if I restart the laptop or put it into hibernation and bring it back, the output device will again work.
Also, when it is working I am experiencing other strange issues.  Often, sound will work only through headphones, and not through the built in Altec Lansing speakers.  Other times, even with the headphones plugged in, I only get sound through the speakers.  And sometimes, no sound through either, even though the computer at this point is showing a working audio device.
Lastly, when the sound does work through the speakers, it is normally crackling and distorted - it doesn't sound right at all.
The sound device installed on the computer is Contextant Smart Audio 221 (At least when it chooses to be working...)
I hope there is a solution to this problem, thank you very much for any support!

I also have a HP Pavillion laptop, with Windows Vista..  I am having sound issues, but not the same ones..  mine often displays the volume bar on the screen, clicking like I'm turning it up or down.. I can't get it to stop or go away.. I usually have to reboot and most of the time it stops, until the next time I open the laptop.  Also, when it's not doing this, I can't control my volume from the touch pad volume control at the top of my keyboard.  I thought maybe it was just damaged because it seems to have some scratches in that area where the top connects when closed, but I didn't think it made sense that rebooting will stop this, even temporarily.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, however, one driver didn't come back.. it actually seemed to be better at first, but now I have to reboot it almost everytime I open it.  I thought if I didn't leave it in hibernation, just turn it off, while not using it, that would help, it didn't.  I have also tried updating the drivers and they are updated.. If anyone knows what else I can do, please help, it's terribly annoying, plus I have a lot of music on it, I'd like to listen to it sometime.

  • Pair of sound issues

I have two very weird and frustrating problems regarding sound on my iMac G5.
First, certain Flash content will not generate sound at all. The computer has no problem playing sound from movies embedded in websites or mp3s, etc but for some reason embedded Flash content will not play sound. This problem has cropped up before and then went away and seems to have returned. Several uninstalls and reinstalls of both Flash and Shockwave have proven fruitless. No sound is produced whether speakers are plugged in or not. So it seems to be a software issue. My PowerBook with 10.4.2 handles the content without issue.
Second, the optical portion of my audio-out port seems to be shot. For a while I was successfully using a miniTOSLink adapter to connect some Klipsch ProMedia speakers to my iMac. One day they decided to emit nothing but a loud and annoying static when connected via optical. Connection via analog headphone jack yields normal operation (barring the above problem with Flash).
And of course my 90 days was up in June.

I too have had sound issues. I haven't tried the flash and shockwave things you have. I basically don't use them. I have had sound problems with the headphone jack/optical audio out port. I have had my G5 iMac 20" about 1 week and right from the start the sound would jump from external speakers to internal speakers. Most of the time the sound comes from the internal speakers. I opened System Preferences/Sound and I can watch the output jump back and forth between internal and line out. I called Apple Support and they got me to zap the PRAM and reset the Open Firmware. It didn't help. They told me it looks like a short in the port and to take it in to a authorized dealer for repair. Before I do that I have ordered a Xpress Digital Optical Cable from Griffin Technologies hoping this can solve the problem because you and others here have said Digital Optical cables help. There is another thread here about external speakers not recognized and one person says what worked was a combination of digital optical cable and certain adapters. I do have sound from my externals though because I happen to have a iMic. It is an external sound card that connects from USB. That is working fine. I would like to have the digital optical output though.

  • Sound issues; slow response; usb ports unreliable and sd reader not working

The PC is a HP TouchSmart envy about 18 months old. Soon after purchasing I upgraded to Win 8.1.
About three or four months -ago probably after a Win update was installed- I began to have Sound issues (including not able to conect my external powered speakers any more- they used to work brilliantly and initially no sound at all but I went into settings and changed something and every now and again I have to do that again to get the PC speakers to work) ; slow response; usb ports unreliable, sd reader not working- as well as issues with the internet - the modem actually. It is easier to get on to a tablet and use the internet as my PC can be really slow. As well I have uninstalled Chrome and am using Explorer as this seems a little better but I miss Chrome.
I was advised by tech at Hervey Norman that I had to do a complete system restore but in order to do that I would need the recovery discs from HP? Is that correct? How do I do this?
PS I did not make recovery discs when I first purchased the machine. (Very sad!!!)
    Help!!!
    Alfriston

    Hi again Alfriston,
    Thank you for the clarification!
To return your computer's audio back to functional order, I recommend removing the audio driver from the operating system previous to upgrading to Windows 8.1, and installing the driver provided in this link.
If re-installing the driver does not resolve the issue, I suggest following the steps in this document on No Sound from the Speakers (Windows 8).
In regards to the USB ports, I recommend following this resource on Troubleshooting USB Connections (Windows 8), which should help consistently connect your USB devices to your computer.
To prevent your computer from lagging or responding in a slow manner, please follow the step in this document on Resolving Slow System Performance (Windows 8) to help improve the speed and efficiency of the operating system.
To further diagnose the issue with your desktop's SD card reader, I recommend following this resource on Using and Troubleshooting Memory Card Readers (Windows 8).
If your desktop still experiences issues with the audio, USB connections, speed and performance, as well as the SD card reader, I recommend returning your system back to a previous restore point. This can be done by following the steps in this document on Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8).
Should the problem continue, I suggest performing a backup and recovery of your operating system. This can be done by following the steps in this resource on Backing Up Your Files (Windows 8), as well as Performing an HP system recovery (Windows 8). This should return your system back to factory defaults.
