Specific Event ID for all computers

Hi,
We are using SCCM 2012 SP1. We need to know, how many users in our environment used remote assistance from their desktop to which other computers. Is there any way of discovering this using SCCM 2012. The built-in report in SCCM 2012 [Remote Control- All
remote control information] provides information related to remote assistance done from inside the SCCM Server itself.
Or, is there any way I can get the information of that particular Event ID [For remote assistance] from all the computers, which a user used to provide remote assistance to other computers in our domain.

Remote Assistance is an OS feature simply referenced in the ConfigMgr console thus ConfigMgr doesn't audit its use in any way.
A quick web search turned up this though which adds the OS level auditing info from the event log to the hardware inventory process of ConfigMgr:

Global Event Listeners for all Views in a ViewNavigatorApplication

Hello,
As the subject states, I have a ViewNavigatorApplication and I am trying to set up a "global" event listener for all views. Which I am able to do, however I am having problems...
In my first view, I assign this listener:
NativeApplication.nativeApplication.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN, handleKeys);
And I also have this function:

     if (event.keyCode == Keyboard.MENU) {

                    navigator.pushView(MainMenuView);
This works fine from the first view. But when I switch views, I get an exception on pushView (navigator is null). I think I understand why, so what is the best practice for something like this? How can I get access to the spark component navigator from that function when called from a different view? Or is there a better way to go about this?

Any way to open port for all computers?!

Hey folks,
I'm using an Airport Extreme as the router for a small network. It's been performing fantastically.
But, something I can't figure out is:
Is there any way to open a port for all the computers I have hooked into the Airport?
I can of course open ports per internal IP address, but what I'd really like to do is just open up a slew of ports for all of the machines. This way I can leave them grabbing DHCP-provided, non-static IPs, but they can also get access to the services they need to.
Tried the old asterisk in the host IP field (like "192.168.1.*") but no dice. Actually I can't even find a yes or no answer on if this is even possible...

Sorry, but the AirPorts do not support a feature to forward a port to multiple IP addresses; only multiple ports to a single IP address.

Printer prints some PDF objects as filled (but shows borders only in preview). Print as image helps, but not for all computers. Acrobat X Pro, OCE printer.

We create PDF from Autocad using Adobe PDF printer. When printing that PDF file to OCE printer, some drawing objects are printed as filled (but Acrobat shows correctly - border only). If I open the PDF with Internet browser, I can see those objects as filled as well. If I print the PDF as image from some, not all computers - it prints ok, not filled.

I've found plenty of people asking how they can create a query that will list all of the computers that have either the 32-bit or 64-bit version of an application. I want to do the opposite. I want a collection where all of the members do NOT have
the latest versions of an application that comes in both 32-bit and 64-bit.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't a NOT IN sub-select query be the only way to get a list of computers that do NOT have an application installed? I can create a NOT IN that works with either 32-bit or 64-bit ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS, but never both.

Yes, for CM07 you will need to use sub-select. (CM12 you can use "exclude collections").
I think you need to use an OR, between your two sub-select statements, for your requirement.
edit: actually, maybe that should be an AND that you need. How about you try each, and let us know?

How to Open Ports for HP Printers for all computers within the network (router)

Hi,
I have the EA6700 router and a few HP printers and Multi purpose printers/scanner/fax ...
When installing the print drivers, they are ok. Sending to printers are not a problem. However, the problem comes with scanning.
The HP Software ask to open a port for it... How do I do that? I checked, it seems other computers are affected by it too after changing to this new router.
I read that it can be done on the "App and gaming" section at the Security page. Do I go to the port forwarding section? But it only forward to one computer. that doesn't work...
I'd like to open a port and a lot of other IPs can print and scan from it.

Ports are not needed to be opened on the LAN side of the router for Printers and Scanners. I recommed that tiy contact hp for help and information regarding setup and configuration of those devices. Also the addition of a external Gb network switch for these devices is recommended as well. Would help eliminate any un-necessary router configuration or processing.

Autonumber a specific paragraph heading for all Book files

I'm hoping I'm missing something simple again, but here goes: (Using FM 9.237)
I have a book containin several documents, each of which are part of a single outline. Here is my numbering setup as it currently stands.
Control Process 1.0: Lorem Ipsum <n+>.<n=0>:\t
Control Objective 1.1: Lorem Ipsum <n>.<n+>: \t
Control 1.1.a: Lorem Ipsum. <n>.<n>.<a+>.\t
Control 1.1.b: Lorem Ipsum. <n>.<n>.<a+>.\t
Control Process 2.0: Lorem Ipsum <n+>.<n=0>:\t
Control Objective 2.1: Lorem Ipsum <n>.<n+>: \t

I need the Control Process Paragraph to Autonumber across all the files in my book. Thus, in my Doc 1 I may have Control Process 1-4, and then in Doc 2 I want the Control Process to start at 5. I've tried using <$chapnum>, but no matter what I do, the Control Process paragraph restarts at 1. I cannot figure out how to tell FM that I want it to start based on the numbering in the previous file. I've used autonumbering successfully for years, but for some reason I'm stumped on this.
Any help would be more appreciated that I can relate.

Jeff,
As you have it set up in your post, the number building blocks refer to paragraph numbering. So, in your book file, select all chapter files after the first chapter, right-click, and select Numbering. Then in the Paragraph tab, select Continue from previous.
If you want to use the <$chapnum> building block, then replace the appropriate <n> with <$chapnum> in the autonumbering for the paragraph format. Then do the same as in the first paragraph, but select the Chapter tab and select continue from previous. In the book file, select the first chapter, right-click, and select Numbering. Then in the Chapter tab, select start at 1.
The important thing is to set the numbering from the book file, not within each chapter file. It is the book file that controls things.

Backing up music for all computers linked to one itunes account

Okay. So I have four computers that share music on itunes. When I back-up my music on my computer, I am wondering if the other computers libraries get backed up at the same time. The reason I ask is because there is no option in itunes to back-up any of the other computers. So, say I go to my daughter's computer, open itunes and look for the back-up option. It is not listed. This makes me wonder if everytime I back up my library, I am also backing up hers.

get a sufficiently sized external HD and create four partitions, one for each computer. copy the entire iTunes folder (not just the iTunes music or media folder) to their respective partition. use SyncToy on each machine to keep both folders in sync.

How can I use the same event case for different controls dynamically

I have a lot of (about 50) controls (numeric, boolean) on my front panel. If a "Value Change" event will be fired by any of them the same event case shall be executed. As I do not want to add all 50 controls to the same event case manually I am looking for a way to do it at run time. Additionally the VI is still under contruction, i.e. controls will be added and removed.

Hi Johannes,
collect all your control references (you can use the FP property for it) and create a user event. Connect this user event to your event structure. Now you have one event case for all your controls. See the attached picture.

Changing default open with for file type for all users

can I change the default app to open a specific file type for all users and not juist for my user?

What applications are offered for open with depends on the application itself informing the system it can open certain files, plus your own custom selections for opening files. Evidently the alternate app you want to use does not claim to be able to open the files you are assigning it. If you have a plist editor and know how to use it you could edit the info.plist file inside the application itself to add the file type you want to the application's declaration of file types it will open. Then restart so the system will read that declaration. I think it would be far easier to simply launch the application and then drop a file you want it to open onto its icon in the Dock.

Report to list all computers and their collection membership

I am currently working on a site where direct membership is used for collections but a need has arisen to move to AD Queries.
I have created a simple powershell script that creates groups based on the contents of a csv file and another script which populates this with the members listed in another csv file.
To help speed up the process is there a way to generate a report that lists ALL Computers and their Collection membership?
The only reports I seem to find that are built in require an inputted value of either computer name of collection ID. I simply need a report that lists Computer Name is column 1 and Collection Name in column 2 for all computers and all collections.

Printer klling internet connection for all wifi devices in office

Hi!
We bought office jet 8600 pro and connected it to the main office desktop computer through ethernet cable. This main computer is also connected to wifi router.
All other laptops in office are using wifi router for internet and for printing.
As soon as we installed new printer it started to conflict with alll wifi devices in office. Basically all laptops and phones loosing internet connection for 2-15 minutes. Usually when somebody from main computer is using printer.
I read in another thread about similar problem and tried to fix this by checking firmware version of router and making a static ip for printer. I put printer to 192.168.1.250. It didn't work, internet keep going down. As experiment i made a static ip for my own laptop too -192.168.1.50. it didn't work too. Need help. Thank you!

Sorry. Actually we have 2 routers. First one is working as a connector for ethernet and another one is a wifi router. Printer is connected to the router(connector). Wi-fi router is connected to router(connector) too.
If printer is connected to the router(connector) every 5-10 minutes wi-fi for all computers in the office become restricted (without internet access).
As soon as you are pulling out the ethernet cable from printer, everything works fine.
There are two computers that sharing printer by ethernet cable. Others are using wi-fi connection through both routers to connect to the printer. Wi-fi printing is working good by the way.

Yes, you should print all the labels and stick them on the computers, where users can see them. That way when you get a call you can ask them for the computer name to connect to it remotely.
Spiceworks can scan all of you computers and store all kind of hardware details, as well as to keep a list of software installed on each machine.
Barcode? It really depends, not really necessary.
Dameware mini-remote is what we use to connect to our users computers (about 250 computers) it works really well.

Hi, I recently got in a place where I have more than 50 computers under several departments, now so far I have done the renaming of computers in an organized way but all I have is in papers and I am quite confused with several things on my mind and need an expert advice here about what they do to control or do the asset management for all computers in their network single handed or from one centralized server or Desk.Things I am confused for :-1. Should I make the labels for each computer and stick it.2. I am constantly looking for softwares which could simply scan all the computers and I could then save each computer hardware details as per the computer names.
