Speech recognition with Flash- Can it be done?

is there any way in flash to detect the voice and detect what
user is saying.
eg if user is saying "yes" then run some command and if "no"
then other.

a.viary.com does some amazing Photoshop-like things using

sort of custom programming that a only handful of the top
Flash developers
in the world would know how to do.

Mac Speech Recognition into Flash

Is it possible to integrate Mac`s built in speech recognition
feature ()or any other speech recognition software) into flash?
I am trying to make a speech recognition based flash
application. It does not need to work online, jut locally on my mac
(no communication server needed).

Can you open up your Real Player and tell me what version you have? I think Real Player 15.0.6 is supposed to fix this problem. There was a conflict between Real Player and Flash this whole summer that broke Flash videos. Real Player released a update that might help in your case.
If that doesn't help, I think a addon might be to blame here. So do this:

Windows 7 Speech Recognition causes Flash Player exception error in Firefox

I have a strange problem.
My system is Windows 7 Ultimate X64 SP1.
Today I started working with Windows Speech Recognition. I found that if I have Speech Recognition running before I launch Firefox 30.0, I get a Flash Player Plug-in Exception error when I load certain websites.
The version of Flash Player (Shockwave Flash) is 14.0.0.14.
I also have SilverLight Plug-In 5.1.20913.0 installed and active.
The problem does not occur when I use IE 10.0.9200.16798 to load the same website.
One of the websites on which the error occurs is: www.bikeforums.net. The error appears as soon as the home page is finished loading.
The exact error reads as follows:
FlashPlayerPlugin_14_0_0_145.exe - Application Error
The exception unknown software exception (0xc0000710) occurred in the application in location 0x774aa289.
Any ideas?

Design Mode works with Flash, LiveView and Browsers Don't?

I am running on Dreamweaver CS5 in Code View...I have imported a flash video, which displays in design view, but will just keep loading in the actual browser and never start the video. It is running through an Apache localhost and is a PHP file...could that mess it up? I am also using jQuery with a bunch of hidden popup views, that work fine. What's wrong with my flash? Here is my source code to my flash video file:

Without seeing the page in a live/testing environment, can we assume that the "Scripts" folder that Dreamweaver is on the local/testing environment that you are having issues with?

my reading program teaches 55 words in volume one, go to www,montessorihome,com scroll and download some free lessont o your iphone or ipad.
How can we deploy SIRI and have the kids answer the device and we see if its correct and move on.

As Siri requires that you speak clearly and with a pronunciation as close to the standard as possible, I suspect it won't work very well for five-year-olds. Children that young have not entirely mastered all phonemes. Additionally, I don't believe that Apple has opened up the API for Siri for use in other apps, though I could be wrong about that. You would be better off posting in the Developers' Forum.

Pair Nano with Mercedes--Can It Be Done?

My Mercedes has bluetooth and it works perfectly with my iPhone. I just bought a Nano and it has bluetooth. Can I pair it with my Mercedes to play the music through my system?
When I put my Mercedes in discovery mode, the Nano does not see it nor does the Mercedes see the Nano.
Any help is appreciated.

Are you able to play stereo music through the carkit with the iphone or can you only use it for phone calls? i.e- if the carkit only supports HSP and not A2DP, then it won't work with the Nano.

Using iMac as external display with MBP, can this be done?

This has been posted before, but I have as of yet not found a straight answer. Mostly peoples recommendation is: "Buy a display".
However, I have an older iMac, 20" and I have a newer MBP 15". The MBP has a faster graphics card, better processor and more RAM. But I still like sitting at the table using my iMac, because the comfort of working is better this way.
Now seeing that I have both, is it possible to connect the two, and use the iMac for a display? Preferably without having to buy a whole lot of expensive cables, applications or do strange hacks risking hurting myself or my computers

I think you are getting the straight answer. You need "buy a display" because a display has a video input port. An iMac has a video output port, but NO video input port. Therefore, you cannot use it as an external display, like a regular display.
You could give the iMac a video input using a USB interface device, but the cost of such a device that would provide good quality video into the iMac would cost about the same as (or more than) a low cost LCD display. And it would probably not be ideal in terms of performance.
You could also use this clever program to use a fast network connection and VNC to display the MacBook Pro's second screen on the iMac screen.

In your case, the program will create a virtual screen for the MacBook Pro and shares it with the iMac in much the same way as the +screen sharing+ feature. Disadvantages are relatively slow image refresh rate (because the signal is going over the network) and the need to have the iMac turned on and running separately. The speed part will not be that bad in your case, if you use a Cat-5e or better Ethernet cable to connect the two Macs, so that you will have gigabit speed. You can give it a try at no cost to see if it is an acceptable solution (in time-limited demo mode).
I use this program to give my iMac a third display. The +third display+ is an old PC laptop running Linux (Ubuntu).

Speech recognition - keystrokes and commands

I have recently began using Windows 7 speech recognition with my Photoshop elements 10 software. It works wonderful. Now that I have all of my "routine" tasks with verbal commands I can focus on what I am drawing rather than spending much time clicking menus and tapping keys :-) I would like to expand my verbal commands to be able to set the options in all of the "option tools menus" and it would be great to pick items from the drop-down menus.
Has anyone experience in this area? If so I would appreciate your wisdom and advice.

I don't think it's possible to use SR to access the Options Bar, at least I haven't found out how to do it.
Picking items from the drop down menus is done with numbers. For example, I'll say "Click Filter" and the drop down menu will display. Then I need to say "Show Numbers" and pick the relevant choice. When the sub-menu appears, I need to do the "Show Numbers" thing again.

Does Apple have a knowledge base article, or something, that gives decent instructions on how to make use of the Speech Recognition program? I am not referring to Spoken Commands such as Open Window, etc.
Helps seems to be pretty much useless in this area.

I am referring to Dictation. Everyone else seems to call that feature Speech Recognition. Guess Apple just had to be different.
The link is exactly what I was looking for, but hadn't found. Like you, all I was finding was about Spoken Commands.
I wish I could say I was going to use Dictation for a project I'm working on, but it doesn't measure up to what I can do with Windows 7 in a virtual machine. You just can't have everything, I guess.

Speech Recognition not working when tested in IE on Windows 8.1

I have adapted the example code form the Speech Recognition documentation to fire up Speech recognition in Visual Studio for Web Express 2013 on Windows 8.
The speech synthensizer works fine when I fire up the app in IE and produce Text-to-speech, but when I try the Speech recognition code, all I get is "Waiting for Localhost" messages, and no result.
Is there a problem with speech recognition with Web development using browsers? (I tried and failed in Opera as well)
I am keen to use speech recognition for a webapp, ultimately serving mobile devices with the power of server-based processing.
Anyone help please?
