Speedport time out fail wireless

I am connected to ethernet port, no problem.
AirPort fails to connect. Now Windows with two local machines connect ok. My previous Dell connected.
My AirPort works at home, a Bell Modem.
SpeedPort W 700 V seems to have some issues for Win.
The SpeedPort does not reply giving time out same as incorrect password.
I tried a manual connect with full name from my AirPort detection script.
Also problem with iTouch, but it failed to reconnect at home after upgrade to new software.

SpeedPort W 700 V is both wireless and wired. I am connected to wired now.
When disconnected, the wireless shows on AirPort and asks for password. Entering password gives a time out. I tried a manual connection with network name WLAN-4A7D03 selected security type and entered password. Again a time out. The SpeedPort fails to handshake on receiving the password. That is, I do not think the password accepted reply is connecting. My AirPort works on other wireless connection in Canada. I am in Germany and the SpeedPort modem is a few years old, but I had no trouble with my new Dell windows Vista last year.
This could be a SpeedPort issue. I know the SpeedPort wireless is working because two Windows computers are connected to the wireless. I did find reports of some Windows machines having difficulty connecting to SpeedPort but no comment on Apple problems.
By the way thank you for answering. I will be traveling in Italy where most hotels only have wireless connections. So I am trying to isolate problem to SpeedPort. If it is my use of AirPort then I have a problem. If necessary I could buy a USB port wireless.
I do know update of my iTouch has crashed its wireless connection. I tried reset to orignial but it then automatically upgrades and I am back where I started.
These are my first Apple products so I may be missing something. The more I use the Apple Interface the more I like it.

  • Time out fail over

    On this system:
    OS: Solaris 10 11/06 s10s_u3wos_10 SPARC
    Cluster version: 3.1u4
    A- Normally after how much time resource is moved to the other node if ipmp fails (e.g. gateway is unreacheable) ?
    B- What happens if ipmp fails in both server ? packages are kept on their nodes ?
    C- Does it exist timeout over 10 minutes in cluster configuration ?

    u have 2 options - u could increase the back end time out to a very large value so that server can wait rather than timing out rather than failing over or to do some thing like
    <Object name=default>
    NameTrans fn=map from=/ name=reverse-proxy-/
    </Object>
    <Object name=reverse-proxy-/>
    Route fn=set-origin-server server=server1
    ObjectType fn=http-client-config timeout=600
    </Object>
    see - http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-4841/gdhrg?a=view
    ( or simply disable any fail over but have different individual servers distributing load across different application)
    split your uri or application so that each application goes to 1 back end server. for example, let us say - u have 2 java applications that u would like jboss to do the job for you, u could do some thing like
    now, u could edit your obj.conf or (<vs>-obj.conf) depending on your configuration so that it looks like this
    <Object name=default>
    NameTrans fn=map from=/ name=reverse-proxy-/
    </Object>
    <Object name=reverse-proxy-/>
    <If $uri =~ /foo1>
    Route fn=set-origin-server server=<&#349;erver1>
    </If>
    <If $uri =~ /foo2>
    Route fn=set-origin-server server=<&#349;erver2>
    </If>
    </Object>
    btw - i will file a RFE on your behalf for this feature.

  • [Solved] dhcpcd times out, fails

    i686
    kernel 3.6.6-1
    dhcpcd 5.6.2
    desktop xfce
    My ethernet card is a Rhine II VT6102 rev 74 and the driver is via_rhine.
    Today I installed xscreensaver and immediately lost my network connection.  So far I have tried the following without success:
    killed xscreensaver and removed the package
    reboot
    found eth0 state was UNKNOWN rather than UP
    tried several versions of ip link... without any change
    unplugged the network cable for a few seconds; now eth0 state is UP
    restarted dhcpcd@eth0
    stopped dhcpcd@eth0 and tried just dhcpcd eth0
    disable dhcpcd@eth0 and enable dhcpcd
    reload the driver using modprobe
    Sorry for the lack of log/error msg output but I have no way to get the data off the computer except copy by hand and then manually enter it here.  Journalctl and the error msgs are all similar however:
    eth0: sending IPv6 router solicitation
    rebinding lease of 192.168.1.22
    sending IPv6 router solicitation
    broadcasting for a lease
    sending IPv6 router solicitation
    sending IPv6 router solicitation
    no IPv6 routers available
    timed out
    Failed to start dhcpcd on eth0

    What should I try next?  Thanks for any help.

  • Manual duplex times out on wireless connectivity only - D5560 printer

    The printer is set for manual duplex. I use a Dell Insiron laptop (OSW7) with a wireless connection to Netgear Wireless-N 3000 Router. IP address is 192.168.1.5:3910 for the wireless printer.
    The pages print on the one side and then simply stop printing on the last page just before the printer should be releasing it.
    If I leave everything alone, approx 15 seconds later the page gets released and the print cancels.
    If I manually tug the final page out of the printer and manually insert for the second side the page has a small area at the end unfinished. The first page of the second side may have this data printed on it.
    I've reinstalled the software and all hardware has driver updates etc.
    My PC is cable connected to the router and I've never had this happen. It is only on the wireless connection for the laptop.
    Is there a solution?

    Does the printer recover by power-cycling your switch or unplugging the LAN cable to the printer?

    Could anyone tell me the root cause and how to fix it?
    Thanks.

    It could be because of the mini's disk problem. Have you dropped it or shaken it recently?
    Try restoring your iPod mini via iTunes 7 (download the latest, 7.0.2). If it doesn't work, and if it still under warrantry, try replacing your device.

    I've tried googling, but no suggestion seems to work. Any help?

    This is basically a workaround, but still. You can try hold_connect script to automatically watch connection status. It can be found here: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=103139. Just add "iwconfig wlan0 power off" string in function connect under "sudo netcfg down ..." line.

  • HT4356 What printers beside HP will work continuously with an i-pad?  I tried Canon and Epson and both time-out after a short time, requiring the user to re-initialize.  This defeats the idea of a wireless printer,  Thanks Art

    What printers besides Hp will work continuously with an i-pad?  I tried Canon and Epson and both time-out after a short period of time rerquiring the user to re-initialize, which defeats the purpose of wireless printing.  Please help, Apple can not.  Thanks to all.  Art

    Canon support told me that the I-pad printer driver would not work with any printer, including HP.  They offered to fix the problem for $50.  I turned them down.
    If they really could fix the problem, they must be saying to update the printers firmware. Look on the cannon website & update the priners firmware.  While you at it, update the routers firmware.
    What printer do you have?

    check your messages log and etc on the VM server. The job log doesn't go into enough detail to tell what's causing the issue. It did fail cleanup. Meaning.... that your ocfs2 filesystem is probably orphaned. You have have to clear the iSCSI LUN before trying again.

  • E51 Wireless Lan - Net Connection Time Out

    Hi all,
    I cant get my E51 to open websites. It connects to my wireless LAN fine, but I get the message Net Connection Time Out when I try to browse to any website. Before the message comes up, it takes a minute or so of blank screen before the error message appears.
    I have a netgear router and I use WEP. The key is entered correctly.
    Has anyone come across this before?

    this probably is a case of a bug in ur device so what u can try are: plz make a back up
    take out your sim card and put in *#7780# to restore factory settings. you should not lose any data, but all settings will go into default. try that first.
    the second option is a reset *#7370# this one will erase all of your data, 'wipe the phone clean' and restore to factory settings. see if any of these options work and if you are able to use your phone as you like/need to.
    the third option U can go in for a hard reset which will turn ur device as it left the factory totally new
    U can also update/reinstall ur firmware and see the result...
    Also use ur device without the memory card and see
    in case of ur memory card there are different options available to you to get rid of the corrupt/unwanted data in your card.
    menu--tools--memory---options---format memory card......
    remember everything including ur factory installed apps will be deleted......... but u can always download them later either from nokia or google them...
    or insert ur card in any reader or laptop and check for virus and also the hidden folders.......

  • Both ethernet and wireless time-out trying to connect

    I'm having a problem with getting my laptops' IP assigned by dhcp. Both over ethernet and wireless.
    I have no problem connecting to my WPA connection at home, but now I'm at my parents for a week or two, it refuses to connect to their WEP network.
    To connect to my WPA network I run this script from rc.local, which works fine on startup.
    ifconfig ra0 up
    iwconfig ra0 essid *********
    iwconfig ra0 ap **:**:**:**:**:**
    iwconfig ra0 rate auto
    iwconfig ra0 channel auto
    iwconfig ra0 mode Managed
    iwconfig ra0 txpower auto
    iwpriv ra0 set AuthMode=WPAPSK
    iwpriv ra0 set EncrypType=AES
    iwpriv ra0 set WPAPSK=***************************************
    iwpriv ra0 set TxRate=0
    dhcpcd ra0
    So for the WEP network, I have commented all that out and changed rc.conf like so:
    lo="lo 127.0.0.1"
    eth0="dhcp"
    ra0="dhcp"
    wlan_ra0="ra0 essid ***** key *******************"
    WLAN_INTERFACES=(ra0)
    INTERFACES=(lo eth0 ra0)
    gateway="default gw 192.168.0.1"
    ROUTES=(!gateway)
    But when I try to connect it just returns "Error, ra0: timed out".
    I have also tried modifying rc.local (appropriately i think), but that seems to time-out too.
    This wouldn't be so bad if I had the option to connect by ethernet, but that doesnt work either! It also times out, just like the wireless. I don't think it is the router, as all the other computers in the house work fine, both wired and wireless. But I don't think it's a driver issue either, as I can see all the AP's in kismet, and also I used the ethernet port when I first installed Arch a couple of months ago. I assume it's dodgy config files or clashing commands or something, but I've looked in the wiki and other forums etc, and I can't see what I'm doing wrong.
    Any help would be very appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Paul

    Make sure about the addresses for the LAN the router at your parents is using - they are not necessarily the same.

  • MBP wireless time out on downgraded TC

    Basically, both unibody MBP and TC were upgraded and caused a lot of problems so I decided to downgrade TC's firmware back to 7.3.2. Now the problem is MBP's having a hard time picking up TC's wireless signal (once every 3 or 4 tries). When it does, it won't let me log into its network as it keeps showing "connection time out." No way to do a wireless back up in such mess. I also tried wired TC and direct internet connection to MBP and both worked. Unfortunately, hard/soft resets don't change a thing. TC's 802.11n, b/g friendly wireless network can be picked up by XBOX 360 and 1st gen iPhone without any connection drop.
    Not sure if anyone has a solution for this but any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

    k time for some update. I've been using wired Internet from downgraded TC for about 10 days and for some reason it fixed itself back to normal. Now I'm able to go wireless without signal drops and to back up time capsule through the wireless network. I guess the solution for now is to downgrade TC to 7.3.2 and wait for a few days. This works for my case.

  • Can't login to wireless network. Deleted network but still time-out trying to login without asking for new password

    Well I am downgrading (if you can call it that). Leopard and Snow leopard are just superior OS's for power users. All the fancy stuff put in Lion actually slowed it down considerably among all the other bugs..... but anyway
    I changed my network password today. My mbp on lion cannot access the network. I deleted the saved names in network preferences, I rebooted my modem an router, even cleared the DNS cache in Terminal. It still tries to connect to the network and times out... without asking me for the new WEP password I have put on the network.
    My other laptop on snow leapord does what it is supposed to. Deleted the network name in network preferences, clicked on network name to get online, and then it requested the password name. Why doesn't Lion do this??
    Like I said before I did all the above. I don't know what else to do. I also manually deleted the keychain passwords. Still no luck. I guess I have to rename my network lol.

    Access the router's admin area and put in a new password.
