Spelling dictionary:  where is the list of learned words?

In MS Office all the technical words I have added to the spelling dictionary are stored in a simple text file. I now want to paste them into the Mac dictionary. Please can someone tell me if there is a text list of learned words and where it is stored.
I will be really annoyed if I have to add each of the hundreds of words manually.
Thanks,

Again, I'm in Leo right now, but spent the last hour searching for it/them.. no soap.
So I added some real long names to it, they showed up in en.
I made a new file in Text Edit with these words...
qwerty
asdfgh
zxcvbnm
Changing one slightly to zxcvbnmkl and highlighting it in Text Edit, Right Click>Spelling & Grammer>Show Spelling & Grammer... it shows that zxcvbnmk is the proper spelling... en was not changed, as it was with the real long names!?
zxcvbnmk does not exist in the content of any file, I have not found a Folder or File that was changed on those last three words!?
I don't know how long of list you have, but a possible workaround...
Load/paste them all into Text Edit, Select All>Right Click>Spelling & Grammer>Show Spelling & Grammer... Click Learn repetedly... I did a list of a hungred or so this way.
Assuming Tiger has the same capability I'd guess.

  • Where is the list of hyphenated words located in mac os x

I would like to create a list of words in Armenian for auto-hyphenation. Is there a way I can create this list and install it where the English hyphenated word list is installed, so that any word processor can auto-hyphenate an Armenian text?
After collecting the words and making the word bank, I need to know:
    1. How to create the hyphen? whether by inserting hard hyphen? or soft hyphen? or some other character that Mac OS X will interpret it as auto-hyphen sign.
    2. What format should I save this list? RTF, textonly, etc.
    3. Where should I install this file?

    >>  Once I know what those numbers represent
I would suspect--though I don't know for certain--that the hyphenation-marking digits work as in other UNIX programs.  Here are two leads:

Search them for "odd" or "even" to get started.  Good luck.

  • Where is the List of approved iTunes applicatiions

Where is the list of Apple approved iTunes applications? There are many thousands but no list to conveniently download and browse or query. The browsing tools on iPhones, iPads, and my Mac's iTunes only show a few apps at a time and usually resets the search back to the beginning of each category after trying to view and go back to the list results.
The iPad Application is better than the one on the iPhone but usually breaks after a few hundred apps are displayed. It seems worse if you actually view an app. Sometimes I can return to where I left the list but most times it resets to page one application one. Surely the list of applications is not a secret? Or is it? The search tools miss apps that I know would be found in most search engines and sometimes I have to type in an exact name and there it is? Am I doing something wrong and are there some posts on this that I haven't found?

The iTunes App Store is the official Apple provided access portal for finding, purchasing and downloading apps/applications for iPhones, iPads, and other IOS devices. Apple only approves of apps for users which are provided by iTunes via the App Store.
Yes I meant the the "App store" where browsing, what many would call a search/query tool does not provide a way to see the entire list of either iPad/iPhone/iTouch applications. I have been using lists for many years with millions of entries and the way we access the lists of apps, only a very small number are ever shown in searches. Sometimes I only find an app through a search by typing in the exact name? This seems how Apple intends users choices to be influenced. If your type of app doesn't float on the top of the pool, it is pushed to the bottom so as to be out of the way. So I am looking for a list to be able to quickly search them on my own and put them into categories that make sense to my work flow.
    Thanks for your reply.

  • Where's the list view in Calendar?

I want my list view back in Calendar...

I found this and it worked for me:
The list-only view in Calendar is still available, but getting to it is different in iOS 8.
From the scrolling month view (where you have a continuous view of calendar months where each week is a row), tap on any day (the number) to bring up the list-only view. You'll see a scrollable list of calendar entries, and the icon to the left of the search button at the top will have changed to look like a list. Tap that icon and you'll get a graphical day view of appointments. Tap it again to return to the list-only.
If you're in the scrolling month view and you tap the icon to the left of the search button, you'll switch to a combination of month-and-day's appointments.
I found this very confusing at first, but it's not any more difficult than the old way (once you get used to it).

  • Where is the list of active and completed print jobs stored?

I am using an Apple LaserWriter 8500. Great network printer still.
In the printer window it has a list of jobs to be printed and another tab for jobs completed.
    Where are these lists stored?

The hidden file /var/logs/cups/page_log contains some of this information. You can look at this log via the Console application in Utilities. However, it does not look like it contains all the data that you see in the print queue Active/Completed views.
Also, print jobs that are active are kept in the hidden folder /var/spool/cups/
Is there a particular job you are looking for?

  • HT1420 where is the list of computers authorized?

Where can I find the list of computers authorized for home sharing?

There is no such list. If you need to you can deauthorize all then reauthorize only the computers in your possession.
    Authorization and Deauthorization
Macs:  iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.
Windows: How to Authorize or Deauthorize iTunes | PCWorld.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.
More On De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

  • Where is the list of pending driver updates?

I saw mentioned somewhere on these discussions that HP had a "list of pending updates". Anybody know where that might be? Like others I subscribed to HP Alerts, and all I get is SPAM.

Thank you. Darn it, my LaserJet 2840 isn't on the list. Two months after Leopard release (an written assurances from both Apple and HP that my AiO would have "full functionality") I have nothing except for a print command that launches Text Edit. I may have to go back to Tiger until I use up the new color toners I just bought.

  • How to drag songs onto iPod in iTunes7? Where's the list?

Honestly, iTunes 7.. thank you Apple. You've added some visual elements, but where the **** did you put my iPod songs list? If I click on my iPod under "devices" (on left), I am greeted with a fancy iPod settings page..
Where did the iPod song library go? How do I get to it again? Stop changing things around, Apple!

The same place it was before, under the iPod device name.
Plug in your ipod, open iTunes if you have to. When the iPod is mounted you will see the device name with a small arrow next to it. Click the arrow, it will point down and you will see a list of everything on the iPod.

  • Where is the list of files that the migration assistant was unable to copy located?

The Migration Assistant successfully finished transferring most of my information between my old MBP and my new rMBP, even thought the "less than a minute remaining" actually took several hours, even using Thunderbolt cables.
At the end of the migration, the Migration Assistant displayed a message "not all of your files could be transferred".
Where is the log containing the list of files that couldn't be transferred?
The only system log entries relating to the migrations system are of the "2/27/15 9:17:14.000 AM kernel[0]: Process systemmigrationd [546] disabling system-wide CPU Throttling" variety.

  • Where is the list of previous shoot names stored?

4 times (in the last 2 versions), LR has lost most (but not all) its non catalog-specific user data after a program halt.  The list of shoot names is now empty, as are several other things.  LR appears to have reset itself to a new install state. "Recent catalogs" are also missing.  I suspect these data are all stored in the same place, and If I recover one, I will recover them all. Oddly enough, user presets and color profiles are unaffected.  This needs to be documented.  I will do a windows system restore if I have to, but would rather just replace a file or two.
Question:  How do I recover/repopulate my list of shoot names after a program halt, and what do I need to back up to keep it current?
    Thank you!

That sounds like a missing preferences file.
The default location of the Preferences is…
    Windows Vista or 7—C: \ Users \ [your username] \ AppData \ Roaming \ Adobe \ Lightroom \ Preferences \ Lightroom 4 Preferences.agprefs
    Mac—Macintosh HD / Users / [your username] / Library / Preferences / com.adobe.Lightroom4.plist
Preference files aren’t cross-platform. By default, Preferences are a hidden file on Windows and Mac OS X.

  • Where is the list of categories and keys for calling AVAppGetPref?

I want to obtain parameters in Preferences window by using AVAppGetPrefString() function,
but I could not find the list of words that is usable for its parameters.
For example, in order to acquire the value that placed on [Identity]-[Name] in Preference dialog, it should be written as follows?
    AVAppGetPrefString("Identity","Name")

Conspicuously not documented. Settings appear on WIndows to be stored under HKCU\Software\ADOBE\Adobe Acrobat\version.  Try setting a specific name then search that registry hive for it.
It appears that we find things like
    AVAppGetPrefInt ( ... "AVDisplay" , "OverprintPreview" ) stored in
    HKCU\Software\ADOBE\Adobe Acrobat\10.0\AVDisplay, key iOverprintPreview
Do not take this as documentation or authoritative, just the results of 10 minutes poking around.

  • Where is the list only view on calandar on my iphone 4?

In trying to share my calandar with my family I have found the list of events view is gone. It does nothing to have a large calendar that has no info on it except the day and have to tab though every day to see my events. Just the other day I could see a continuous list of my events for the year in a day like view of only events not a useles calendar taking up the screen. This is like adobe elements losing the radius pen in the new drawing tablet we just got are we using some microsoft execs to make decisions now or something?
I view this as going backwards please put back the list of events view only like it was before.
    Ken

I don't have a shared calendar I can test that with but it doesn't make much sense.  Try force closing the Calendar app by double-tapping the home button, locating Calendar, swiping up on the image above the app icon, then taping the home button again.  Reopen Calendar and see if you can switch between views now.
List view only works in the day view.  In the mothly view, you only see a list of the events for the day you tap on, not all your events.
