Spilt the records based on new vendor number
Hi all,
I have a requirement where i must spilt the number of records in my internal table itab .i have to collect new vendor numbers into another internal table itab1.
Based on that,Say if my itab1 has 2000 records ,
i must spilt it taking the first 990 records and doing some posting using Bapi and again take the next 990 records and do the posting and then take the remaining 20 and post it .Can some one help me out.
my code
AT new vendor
v_count = v_count + 1.
if v_count <=950.
append itab1.
describe table itab1 lines v_lines.
v_return = v_lines mod 950.
call bapi.
what abt my last 20 records .
Note : My internal table can have at the maximum 990 records while passing to the Bapi.
Good answers will be rewarded with points.
Hai,
Instead of that select the records using the PACKAGE SIZE 990.
so here you can complete 990 records and then proceed for next 990 records, if you have only 20 you will end up with 20 records processing.
SELECT * INTO TABLE itab PACKAGE SIZE 990 FROM scarr.
"process the data here , call the BAPI or what ever
ENDSELECT

Vijay

I was recording a song, finished it and everything went alright. Then I wanted to start with the recording of a new song. With the SAME plug-ins and settings as in the song before. I could record it all, but then, logic started crashing! Now, Logic crashes everytime I open up the new song as soon as I press play. But when I open up the older song, everything works just fine. I can press play without any problems, do things here and there... typical Logic stuff. So, it has to do with my new project! But why? I mean, I'm using everything the same way in both projects. Literally everything!
Now, here's one of my crash reports... please help. Please. Thanks in advance!

Veena.
Edited by: s veena on Jan 18, 2011 5:52 AMHi Veena,
You can use UPTO in your select query. For example
SELECT MATNR FROM MARA INTO TABLE IT_MATNR UPTO P_NUMBER ROWS.
"Here P_NUMBER is the Selection Screen Parameter
It will fetch records based on the number in the parameter.
Thanks & Regards,
Faheem. -
Hi all,
I have a requirement where i must spilt the number of records in my internal table itab .Say if i have 2000 records , i must spilt it taking the first 990 records and doing some posting using Bapi and again take the next 990 records and do the posting and then take the remaining 20 and post it .Can some one help me out.
Note : My internal table can have at the maximum 990 records while passing to the Bapi.
Good answers will be rewarded with points.Hi Vijay
First you can describe your internal table, if it is less than 990 lines call the BAPI to post by passing all the records. If it is more than 990 lines, loop at your internal table move the keep incrementing your counter when the counter reaches 990 lines call your BAPI and reset the counter. And once you are thru with all your records call your BAPI once outside the loop for the remaining records to be posted i.e. i meant for last 20 records that you have.
Eg algo.:
Describe itab index cnt.
if cnt < 990.
Call BAPI ....
endif.
else.
loop at itab int wa.
cnt1 = cnt1 + 1.
append wa to itab1.
if cnt1 = 990.
call BAPI with itab1.
refresh itab1.
clear cnt1.
endif.
endloop.
if itab1 is not initial.
Call BAPI with itab1.
endif.
endif. -
Retrieve the records based on date where date is not stored
Hi,
I have one table in Oracle.
I want to retrieve the records which are added or modified after a particular date & time.(but the table does not contain any column for date & time )
For example: Product table(pid number,pname varchar2)
i am entering 10 records on date 21/07/2005
i am entering 20 records on date 22/07/2005
i am entering 15 records on date 23/07/2005
i am entering 30 records on date 24/07/2005
If i want to retrieve the records added after 22/7/2005
(ie.) last 45 records
But the table does not contain any date field.
How will you know date & time of each record updated in the table.
If any one knows, help me.

http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/appdev.920/a96590/adg08sql.htm#10851
for 10G, flash back feature is enhenced to whole database level, you can still use flash back query though. -
Error: Setting the record status to 'NEW' after assigning a value
Hi everyone,
The user name is assigned programatically( like an Initial value) to a field in When New Form Instance and the record status is set back to NEW STATUS using set_record_property.
The value is seen in the field and the moment you enter into any of the fields in the form the value disapears. when you key in something and do a 'clear_form' you get a message 'You cannot create records here'.
Almost a similar problem with QUERY_STATUS for the records queried.
Can anyone help me out to overcome this problem?
Thanks.
BrijeshHi,
I think I went through similar problems some time ago.
Be careful with FORM STATUS (Query or Normal Mode) and RECORD STATUS (there are 4, as you know).
You cannot create new records in the Query mode. Find some descriptions about Form Status
in your online help.
I too had to think about it some time to understand it =)
Hope this helps.

and clicking the save button on the NavigationBindingSource. When I am restarting the application I nothing founding on the Datagrid I am saving before.
below is the Connection String in the App.config file both in the project.
APP.CONFIG connection string
<add name="EMPEntities" connectionString="metadata=res://*/EmpModal.csdl|res://*/EmpModal.ssdl|res://*/EmpModal.msl;provider=System.Data.SqlClient;provider connection string="data source=(local);initial catalog=Inventory;integrated
security=True;MultipleActiveResultSets=True;App=EntityFramework"" providerName="System.Data.EntityClient" />humm, I falling the ball to the batsman(sqlserver) but it getting "NOBALL" in response(not saving). Ok it my be problem in visual studio I am struggling to remove my operating System, VS2013 and sql server, by reinstalling it might works.
because i havent any other computer where these application are installed for the test.
If you create and send me a small project that contain minimum of two columns of table( in sql server ) which can saving new data from datagrid so i will thankfull of you.
it is just for confirmation that either the problem is in OS or VS.
I doubt that any of it has anything to do with the issue. If you think it does, then you can post to the forums.

I think you are riding a bad horse (that tutorial) you are using, and you need to change horses. I think the 'modified' state is not being rasied on the entity bound to the grid when it has changed, and EF is not going save any entity that's not in a modified
state. -
Old Vendor Number and New Vendor number
Dear Experts,
In Vendor Master we have a Field ALTKN which is of 10 Character to Store the Old Vendor number, Where as my client has old vendor number is of 14 characters in his Legacy system. As this Old Vendor number is very much required in SAP.
Kindly Suggest to which field this Old Vendor Number to be mapped as the old Vendor number is Alpha Numeric and is of 14 digit.
Best Regards
Javeedif the old vendor number does not fit into the designated SAP given field, then you either have to misuse another field or put the old vendor number into a long text or extend the SAP KNB1 (or KNA1 ) table with an own Z-field or put it into classification.
Classification would be my prefferred solution, as classification is just standard, does not need any extra programming, is not a modification, is embedded in search functions. -
Want to sort the records based on non-base table item
I have a multi-record block and I am trying to sort the data based on nbt item
I have a table called X which has x_type,x_code fields.
The table on which the block is created is Y. the table Y has x_type and y_desc as its fields
form layout is like below .the x_type is key field on which I have to query the records
and x_code is a non-base item in the form.I want to sort the records by X_code.
x_code y_desc
A xyz
c par
B lmn
my pre-query has this code
select x_type from y
where
x_type := x_type;
post-query has this code
select x_code from x
where x_type = :x_type;
It works fine in Enter-Queryand execute query mode. but when I am sorting the records on
nbt item x_code by SET-BLOCK-PROPERTY it doesn't do any thingHi Tony ,
I have created a function and in Pre-Query & have add this
SET_BLOCK_PROPERTY('b1', ORDER_BY, 'fn_get_code(x_type)');
and the function created is as below
Function fn_get_code (p_x_type in varchar2) return varchar2 is
v_code varchar2(40);
begin
select x_code into v_code
from X, Y
where X.x_type = Y.x_type
and y.x_type = p_x_type
return v_code;
end;
when I run the form and execute query it comes up with the error message
FRM-40505 and when I pressed display error it shows
SQL Statement error:
SELECT ROWID,X_TYPE,X_CODE
FROM Y order by fn_get_code(x_type)
Error:
"ORA-00904: "FN_GET_code": invalid identifier"
Is it that I need to create a function on the database?. As I have created function

How to update the record based on checkbox
Dear All,
Good Afternoon,
Here i am creating Company Creation Page,
Company has multiple personss
At the time of company creation we set one person as primary person.
that means we just pass that person id as company primary person id columnnn in company table.
vo.getCurrentRow().setAttribute("CompPrimarypersonid", pid);
here i am getting so many persons details with checkboxes.
suppose i want to set another person as a primary person by just clicking on check box.
At that time pass this person id into company primary persin id column in company table.
already primary person id is overwrite with this company id.
how can we get this requirement.
its very urgent to mee
give me the guidance for this requirement.Hi,
You can write a procedure and call it through AM using Callable Statement passing the person_id and company_id.
Now in the procedure, you can check that what is the primary person_id of this company_id.
Store that primary_person_id in a variable say test.
then update the company table with new primary person_id
update company set primary_person_id = <new person_id > where primary_person_id = test;
commit;

How to sum the revenue based on new dimensional attribue?
Experts,
I have a requirement in which I want to report the monthly revenue based on a new attribue named cusotmer group.
My existing customer dim hierarchy is something like this..
customer_id -> customer_family -> Customer Segment -> Total Customer [No customer group]
Now I introduce a new attribute customer group which has no relationship with the existing customer attributes or hierarchy. For example, a customer group, CG1 may correspond to any customer_id, customer_family and customer_segment. Now I want to report my revenue for every month based on the new customer group.
NOTE : My customer dimension is very small (only 200 records) and we have added the customer group attribue column in the existing customer phyical table on database. We have around 12 distinct customer groups.
Thanks for your help in advanceHi,
Create alias column and place it in as a month level LBM and give the join between new attribute and fact .Now generate the report with revenue_alias and customer group.May you will the perfect results..
mark if helpful/correct.....
thanks,

How to display the records based on user input
Hi all,
On the front end, there are two date fileds, for example, start and end. Whenever user enters start date and end date, i want to display those dates starting from start date to
end date whatever the user enters.
For example, user enters Start date : 01/15/2012 and End date : 01/19/2012
I want to display like this *01/15/2012 01/16/2012 01/17/2012 01/18/2012 01/19/2012*
Thanks in advance.
Thanks,
PalHello
You can generate a range of dates between two supplied variables with something like
var start_date varchar2(20)
var end_date varchar2(20)
exec :start_date:='01/15/2012';
exec :end_date:='01/19/2012';
SELECT
TO_DATE(:start_date,'mm/dd/yyyy') + (rownum-1)
FROM
dual
CONNECT BY
LEVEL <= (TO_DATE(:end_date,'mm/dd/yyyy') - TO_DATE(:start_date,'mm/dd/yyyy') ) + 1
TO_DATE(:START_DATE,
15-JAN-2012 00:00:00
16-JAN-2012 00:00:00
17-JAN-2012 00:00:00
18-JAN-2012 00:00:00
19-JAN-2012 00:00:00If you want to have them in columns you'd need to set an upper limit for the number of dates and use a pivot
SELECT
MAX(CASE WHEN date_idx = 1 THEN dt END) date1,
MAX(CASE WHEN date_idx = 2 THEN dt END) date2,
MAX(CASE WHEN date_idx = 3 THEN dt END) date3,
MAX(CASE WHEN date_idx = 4 THEN dt END) date4,
MAX(CASE WHEN date_idx = 5 THEN dt END) date5,
MAX(CASE WHEN date_idx = 6 THEN dt END) date6,
MAX(CASE WHEN date_idx = 7 THEN dt END) date7,
MAX(CASE WHEN date_idx = 8 THEN dt END) date8,
MAX(CASE WHEN date_idx = 9 THEN dt END) date9,
MAX(CASE WHEN date_idx = 10 THEN dt END) date10
FROM
( SELECT
rownum date_idx,
TO_DATE(:start_date,'mm/dd/yyyy') + (rownum-1) dt
FROM
dual
CONNECT BY
LEVEL <= (TO_DATE(:end_date,'mm/dd/yyyy') - TO_DATE(:start_date,'mm/dd/yyyy') ) + 1
) Or failing that, you could use string aggregation like so...
WITH dates AS
( SELECT
TO_DATE(:start_date,'mm/dd/yyyy') + (rownum-1) dt
FROM
dual
CONNECT BY
LEVEL <= (TO_DATE(:end_date,'mm/dd/yyyy') - TO_DATE(:start_date,'mm/dd/yyyy') ) + 1
SELECT LTRIM(MAX(SYS_CONNECT_BY_PATH(TO_CHAR(dt,'mm/dd/yyyy'),' '))
KEEP (DENSE_RANK LAST ORDER BY curr),',') AS dates
FROM (SELECT dt,
ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY dt) AS curr,
ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY dt) -1 AS prev
FROM dates)
CONNECT BY prev = PRIOR curr
START WITH curr = 1
DATES
01/15/2012 01/16/2012 01/17/2012 01/18/2012 01/19/2012HTH

please guide me on this.
Thanks & Regards,
Suresh.Hi ,
Sort on itab mailid.
lv_mail = space.
loop at itab into wa.
if lv_mail ne wa-mail.
lv_mail = wa-mail.
endif.
if lv_mail = wa-mail.
read itab2 with mail = wa-mail.
if sy-subrc eq zero.
concatenate itab2-msg wa-masg into itab2-msg.
modify itab2 at sy-tabix transporting msg.
else.
itab2-mail = wa-mail.
itab2-msg= wa-msg.

in some scenario we faced problem with using "at end".
i am not sure exactly, think basis on type and key part of internal table.so the above is an suggestion from my side.

Select the record based count condition
Hi Experts
I have a table with columns StateDate,State,Name & Type . For the same date there could be 2 or more rows for the same name .
I need to retrieve the data from the table only for the name containing single row in the table and state = 'On'
Please find the Create & Insert Scripts below . Am assuming it needs to be done with a window function and am not yet comfortable with window function .
CREATE TABLE ItemState

State Varchar(3),

Type int)
INSERT INTO Itemstate (Statedate,State,Name,Type)
