Spotlight comments lost, spotlight comments lost
Hi,
my Spotlights comments will be lost.
Day by Day it will be more and more.
For what is the Spotlight comments when dont do write on them.
I will be use it for Tags to building as Datastructure.
Thanks for help.
Michael
This is strange indeed.
I just checked whether it worked for me by dragging my avatar here to the desktop and going to Get Info. The URL was included in the info.
I have checked the options in Preferences, and the additional options in, for example Onyx, and there doesn't seem to be anything about that, that could have been accidentally activated.
For the moment I am out of ideas, but I will keep thinking!

Spotlight search ignores spotlight comments
Using the Commenteer utility I've modified hundreds of spotlight comments for files. But spotlight search doesn't find them. Why? mdimport doesn't seem to be running. Why?
I figured out what is going on, but don't understand it. Commenteer lets me add spotlight comments in batch mode even when the files are locked. (All my photos are locked so I don't accidentally delete any.) The comments are really there--I checked. But if the files are locked when I change the comments, spotlight will not index the files. If I unlocked the files before using Commenteer to make a batch change to the comments, then spotlight will index the files. So my workaround for now is to unlock all the files before changing the comments. Spotlight doesn't "see" that a file has been updated, if it is locked. If I unlock it, change the comments, and then lock it again, Spotlight notices that and indexes the file. Kind of annoying.

Comment tracking on flickr lost
Hi,
I uploaded a photo on flickr yesterday and I started tracking comments in the "comments" section within iPhoto.
This afternoon, my photo does not display the little "shared" icon on the thumbnails and the "comments" section is empty. It tells me that the photo has not been shared yet.
Anyone could reproduce this problem ?
ThanksIt seems that it is linked with the duplicate photos problem... I found one of my duplicate photos in the "photos" tab that have the icon and when I tap on it, I can see the flickr comments.
But the actual photo in my albums doesnt show anything... -
Shared Review: Can't Check for New Comments or Publish Comments
I am having a problem with a network file share (SMB) Shared Review. I am not able to Check for New Comments or Publish Comments. When I click those buttons all I get is the green circle continuously spinning forever. Other members of my team are able to check for and post new comments. I am able to connect to the SMB file share outside of Acrobat just fine. I am using Acrobat Pro XI with the latest update 11.0.03.
Try the following steps :
1. Keep the review file closed and remove the review enty from the Tracker. For this "Go to View->Tracker. Choose the review file under the Review->Joined node and from right click options choose 'Remove review from Tracker'."
Note: Do not remove the reviews which you had initiated i.e. those under Sent node. Otherwise, the review will removed from the server also.
Alternatively, you can delete the Collab and Synchronizer folder from the following location:
/users/+username+/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Acrobat/+version+/
2. Sign out from Adobe.com comment. For this "Go to Preferences->Adobe Online Services". and click sign out.
3. Now open the review PDF again and login with the correct credentials.
Hope, this will resolve your issue. -
Is it possible to reorder comments in the comments summary?
Hi,
I am making comments on a document which is laid out in two columns. When I create my comments summary (selecting 'by page' when choosing the comment order), The comments are numbered from the top of the page down, regardless of the flow of text. This makes in very unintuitive to read through as you have to jump between different parts of the text as you are working through the comments summary.
Is there a way round this so that the comments are numbered in order of appearance in the flow of the text?
Thanks,
HarryOnly if you use a custom-made script to generate the report. Then you have full control over the output.

Disappearing comments / Viewing wrong comments in online commenting using WebDAV
We are having an issue of disappearing comments / Viewing wrong comments for users
when they use online commenting using Adobe Acrobat 9.1.3 (WebDAV)
When user posts his comments online using send and recieve comments , the comments file is prepared directly under webDAV root (instead of an MD5 hash folder). The issue is seen when users posts his comments from Adobe Acrobat 9.1.3. When we checked the same with Adobe Acrobat 8.0 , 9.0.0 , 9.2.0 it worked.
What could be the issue ? Is it an issue specific to 9.1.3 or do we need some settings on Acrobat side ?
thanks
NachiketJust to be clear, you are putting those comments in a formula, not in the select expert or anything like that?
I got the same version of Crystal developer as you and I just created a new report, created a new formula and put in some comments and save the report and opened it and the comments are still there.
What if you create a new report and create a new formula with some simple formula in it.
I used this:
//This is a comment
1=1;
//This is another comment
"This is a text"
If those comments disappear on you as well then something is really strange. There is nothing new in how comments are shown as compared to Crystal 10.
What OS do you have and what data source are you working on?
Cheers,

Can not post comment to a comment at FB
When I use iPad ( I bought about 2 months age)as my machine to open Face Book and I can do most of the normal functions as my iphone, but I can write comment to friends' comment but can not post. I can have my "status", "photo" only can not post comment, Why and how to make it work?
Thanks for the info.
Firstly, make sure you are not using the split keyboard. There is a bug in the app which disables the send button. Make sure it is the full keyboard you are using. (Pinch the split keyboard to rejoin it).
If you still have no luck, then use the website, or an alternative app. They are generally better than Facebook's own offering.
Let me know if this works, or if you have any other issues,

HTML Comment : <!-- Comment -->
JSP Comment : <%-- --%>
1) What is the different between HTML Comment and JSP comment.
2) How the web container will treat these two comments??
Regards
DhineshHi,
JSP comments are used for documenting JSP code and are not visible client-side (using browser's View Source option) where as HTML comments are visible.

Is there a way to print the comments on the comments list
Is there a way to print the comments on the comments list
There is, but only in Acrobat. Click the Options button and select Create Comment Summary.
If you're using Reader it's possible to output a similar summary to the console window, where you could copy it to another application, but that requires using a script. -
I am trying to find my photos using spotlight by searching for the comments I have made, but they do not appear in spotlight. I have tried re-indexing my iPhoto files, but that did not seem to do any good. Any ideas? Thanks.
Spotlight is notoriously bad at finding items inside the iPhoto database file. I suggest you use iPhoto, which is great at that. In the lower right corner is a search area. Type your comment there and iPhoto will pull up all the photos with that comment, plus everything with the same word(s) in its title or roll name. Or create a Smart Album with the condition "Comments includes" and type the word(s) you are trying to find.
Were you trying to access them from the Finder for use outside of iPhoto? If so, you should know that it is strongly advised that you do not tamper with the items in the iPhoto Library folder from the Finder, because damage to your database can result. Select the photos you need from within iPhoto, then you can Export them to a desktop folder for use outside of the application. (Ex: to upload to a website, attach to email, or copy to disc for a photo developer.) When finished you can delete the exports, as your files remain safe in the Library folder. -
Convert Windows Properties Comments to Spotlight Comments
I have some JPG photo files that I'm importing from a Windows box. On that Windows box, I had entered information about each photo in the "comments" metadata for the file. (In Windows, right-click file --> Properties --> Summary Tab --> Comments field).
I would like to be able to access those comments from the Mac. Ideally, I'd like to have them appear in the "Spotlight Comments" under Get Info for each file, but I realize this might require some crunching. At minimum, I'd like to have a way to at least see those comments on the Mac. Currently, I've not been able to find a way to do so. EG, in iPhoto, you can see a bunch of other metadata, such as when the photo was taken, but not those Windows-specific comments.
Any hints?
Thanks.
Mac Mini Mac OS X (10.4.10)Before you can convert you must be able to play (no issues) in QuickTime Player.
If it doesn't play you're probably missing the codecs. -
I don't know much about Blackberries except that I love mine! I have had mine for 15 months without incident - recently I downloaded Twitter and Facebook from Blackberry App World and everything was hunky dory.
Today I went to answer a call and a message flashed up (all I caught of it was app error) then went to a white screen. After foooorever, I did a battery pull and when it rebooted, all I got was the 02 screen.
I turned off and turned back on my device and it all came back to life except:
1. The error "uncaught exception java.lang.NullPointerException appeares and
2. I lost my email icons, Facebook, Twitter and Camera icon
Since then I checked for updates (apparently I am completely updated) and restored my Blackberry and as a result, I have got my email back but not the camera icon (although I can access it via the Media icon) and I cannot get Blackberry App World, Facebook or Twitter (despite the Application Loader saying they are on my Blackberry).
Can anyone please help me get the App World, Facebook and Twitter back without crashing my Blackberry again?
