SQ01 source on R/3

Hi, there is a query on SQ01 on R/3 side.  How can I see the source code(sql code) of that?
Thanks,
Radha

Hi Radha,
In SQ01, enter your query name, and in the menu Query - More functions - Display report name.
This will give you the name of the report. Then, go to se38 and check the source code.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Diego.

  • Sourcing latest doc for SQ01 in ECC6.0

Apparently, I've been informed that there are differences in the way SQ01 works in ECC6.0, although I have been unable to find a PDF doc that covers using SQ01 in ECC6.
Has anyone come across such a document?.
    Jas

Thanks much for the suggestions so far!
The problem is these errors are really somewhat intentional. I know what they are and why they are created and I have to have them created. In the past we would adjust the entry in the errors in session batch to make the desired postings in the ledger. Also another side effect of this is the next month will not process (obviously) because there are documents from the previous month not posted.
What we are doing is posting "dummy depreciations" on a couple hundred assets. The idea in the past was they allowed the system to calculate the depreciation from the asset master but then when it came time to actually post the dep they would change the entry by deleting the asset line and posting an offsetting entry to the same account as the dep. I know a little strange and I am not totally sure why this business decision was made, as it was some time ago and before my time.
    Thx Again!

  • Creation of Query - SQ01

    Hello All,
Can anybody expalin in brief regarding how to write a quiery using SQ01?
If possible can anybody send me the docs relating to this?
    Thank you,
    Regards,
    Santosh Kumar V

Santosh - I am also new to SQ01, however I have some suggestions that hopefully will be helpful to you.  I recommend starting with the QuickViewer.  You can access this from SQ01 or via SQVi directly.
From here you can create your own queries (similar to local objects) which can then be converted into InfoSets/Queries in which users can access.
    1. Enter a name + Create
    2. Give a description, decide if Data Source is a table (single) or a join (many)
    3. I assume you are creating a join.  When you select join it will take you into the tool to generate the query.  The first step is selecting (and joining) your tables.  Insert table (Shift +F1) will get you started here.  Once all your data is selected you green arrow back to select/map out your selection criteria and the data in which you wish to list in the results.
    4. You can execute from here as well to confirm your results
    5. Once you are good to go, you can easily convert this query by going back to SQ01 (select SAP Query).  Enter your QuickView query name and then in the menu path select Query --> ConvertQuickView.  This will then prompt you through the steps to convert your QuickView Query into an SAP infoset/Query.
    6. Once you have created the SAP Query you can then assign usergroups via menu path environment --> usergroups for authorization.  This allows others to execute your query, however not create one themselves.
I hope this is helpful. Best of luck!

  • SQ02 Infoset returns different results in SQ01 Query vs. Segment Builder TG

I want to get Segment Builder to use the same InfoSet and return the same results so, that I can then make a Target Group...but, I'm sure I'm missing some step along the way.
My SQ01 query returns 79 contact persons, but my segment builder only finds 42, none of which appear to actually be the Contact Person, but are in fact the Business Partner the Contact Person has a Relationship to.
I started by copying the CRM_MKTTG_BP_ADDR InfoSet and added the BUT051 table to it, which is when the SQ01 began returning the needed results.
I suspect the problem may be in the Master Group where I am using the B2B/B2C Program, but I don't know if that's the answer or not.  I am not declaring an FM as I am using the BP-GUID in the data source, so I don't 'think' that's the issue...
Here's what I'm currently trying as my Data Source settings in case that will help:
    Origin Type              03 InfoSet
    RFC dest.
    Name of InfoSet          ZCRM_MKTTG_BP_ADDR
    Business Partner         BUT000-PARTNER_GUID
    Function Module
    Sampling InfoSet         ZCRM_MKTTG_BP_ADDR_SMP
    Sample                   BUT000-PARTNER_GUID
    Object
    Partner Function
    Description              Z BP Address
I already read every Segment Builder forum thread and the Sap Library on the subject, but either I missed something or there is a step not listed.
    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Solved!!
I was wrongly using AND/OR options to add filters in the segmentation tool...ups!

  • SAP Query SQ01/2/3

Is it at all possible to link SQ01/2/3 SAP Query to an external SQL source and table (MS SQL).

I have an external SQL2K database that i would like to be able to query from SAP without the requirement of complex ABAPing to create AD-Hoc reports/lookups.
Is it possible to create a link/RFC to the external SQL DB and then have the tables and Fields accesable by creating an Infoset, which i can then query.

    Hi Friends.
When I run a query (sq01 / sq02) , E.G. that contain the table MARC, the user can select all the plants, but he only must have access to plant "1000". In their roles / profiles, the basis only set authorisation to plant "1000".
I can resctrict the selection via abab code in the RECORD PROCESSING step of the INFOSET, but I want to know if exist a standar way to restrict this kind of authorisations in queries.
pls, any help will be nice!

Use the logical database as the data source for the query:
" < ... > you should always use logical databases as the data source within InfoSets that are used for query-based reporting. Using a logical database as your data source guarantees that the SAP solution is smart enough to know which areas of the data a user is allowed to see so that only the appropriate data will show in an SAP query report. Regardless of what type of security access the person who created the report has, the system is smart enough to display only the appropriate data for the user executing the report. (Note that this is the case only when logical databases are used as the data source if a SAP query is created using an InfoSet that is based on anything other than a logical database (for example, a table, a table join, a program). It is fair to say that no security whatsoever is in place when the query is run because all records within the tables are displayed in the report output.)"

  • SQ01  change generated program code?

    Hello,
how can I change in the generated query program.
Is there a possibility in transaction SQ01? i can't change nothing in the program source in the transaction SE38.
    Thanks

    Hi!
You can enter additional ABAP source into a SQ01 made query in SQ01.
Or you can use the generated program (its name begins with AQ* in SE38 transaction).
Because query's performance is crap, you better write a new one, instead of reapiring it...

  • SQ01 and SQ02 transaction  documentation

    Hi All,
Is there any documentation on transactions SQ01 and SQ02 available any where so as to manipulate those two transactions effectively to get adhoc reports.
    Thanks for any information.

    Hi,
SQ01 : is used to create Query form infoset you have created here you can select fields for selection screen and for list generation using check boxes.
you can generated different types of report using basic list, ranked list, statistics to output in graphical form.
SQ02 : is used to create infoset you need to tell the data source for your infoset like table join, direct read or data reterival using program, you can also put extras fields, structures and tables using extras button. and can code your own select query for that field or structure.
After generating the infoset you have to assign this to your usergroup you already created.

  • Unable to capture the Data Source into a Transport Request

    Hi All,
We have a product hierarchy and we are using the data source :4R_PRODH_D_LGEN_HIER for the hierarchy.
Now we need to transport this structure to the quality environment but we were not able to capture the datasource:4R_PRODH_D_LGEN_HIER into a transport request.
When ever we activate the data source:4R_PRODH_D_LGEN_HIER it is asking for the Package and the Transport Request Number. If we give these details and save it, data source is not getting captured in the request, only the "bject Directory Entry" is getting captured.
Can someone please guide me on how to capture the datasource under "Data Sources in BW" in a transport request.
    Regards,
    Sachin Dehey.

    Hi Sachin,
Hierarachy datasource is not captured as Attributes and Text Datasource. So what ever you have done is correct.
What ever is captured in Object Directory Entry is correct. So go ahead with your transports, once transport is done check the Hierarchy Infopackage with Available OLTP hierarchies and load the data.
Most important thing first see that the all Master & Transactional Datasources are transported in R/3 Dev to QA to PRD
In BW, datasources are not transported, only their replica is transported.
Transportation of Datasource is done in R/3. Only their replica is transported in BW.
So wht ever you have done till now is correct. So go ahead.
While attaching Hierarchy Datasource it is captured only in "Object Directory Entry"
    Regards,
    Vishnu.
