SQL*Loader does not recognise the \ in directory

Hi there,
We have version OWB 9.2.0.2.8 and I am trying to run SQL*Loader. I have tried to use an external table and also got "cannot find file" which I suspect could be the same problem. I then tried to load the data with SQL*Loader and saw that the directory specification of the source data file has "mysteriously" lost the \'s.
Below is a copy of the .log file with data file specified incorrectly. It should be u:\bi\data\ocean_shipment.csv. Any ideas?
Data File: u:biocean_shipment.csv
Bad File: /opt/oracle/product/OWB/9.2.0/owb/temp/u:biocean_shipment.bad
Discard File: none specified
(Allow all discards)
Number to load: ALL
Number to skip: 0
Errors allowed: 50
Bind array: 200 rows, maximum of 50000 bytes
Continuation: none specified
Path used: Conventional
Table "DWHSTG"."S_SHIPMENT_TYPES", loaded from every logical record.
Insert option in effect for this table: TRUNCATE
Column Name Position Len Term Encl Datatype
"SHIPMENT_CD" 1 * , O(") CHARACTER
"SHIPMENT_NAME" NEXT * , O(") CHARACTER
"LOAD_DATE" SYSDATE
SQL*Loader-500: Unable to open file (u:biocean_shipment.csv)
SQL*Loader-553: file not found
SQL*Loader-509: System error: No such file or directory
SQL*Loader-2026: the load was aborted because SQL Loader cannot continue.

Jean-Pierre,
That was the first thing I checked - even put it in (with \'s on the configuration parameters of the mapping). ALso unregistered and re-registered the location, ensured I put the slashes in, but to no avail. But I do belief there might be a bug outstanding for the location with directory separators - will check on metalink and let you know.

I have a 16GB iPhone 3GS. Tried synching my phone through iTunes (11.0.1 I think... on a 2009 Macbook Pro). Now when I connect to iTunes, it says it does not recognise the content on my phone. Is this because my phone (and laptop) are too old?
Also, when I tried to Restore the settings, an Error Message pops up that says " The iPhone software update server could not be contacted. The requested resource was not found.
I'm trying to free up space on my phone by removing [literally] thousands of old photos which were originally synched to the phone, because I had forgotten to uncheck the photos button when I synched it ages ago.
I have also tried synching it on my 24" iMac (running OSX Snow Leopard). But again, when I try restoring the phone through itunes, it says the file is corrupted. It sggests unplugging the device, and then plugging it in again. I have done this numerous times with no success.
I'm guessing it must be because my phone (and versions of iTunes, and OSX) are all too old.
    Please can anybody help.
    Cheers,
    Dan_nz.

  • I have recently purchased a used iPhone 4, when i plugged it into my pc a skull came up instead of the apple icon.  My pc does not recognise the iPhone, I have tried everything that I can think of.  Has anybody any ideas on how I can fix this?

I have recently purchased a used iPhone 4, when I pulg it into my pc a skull icon appears instead of the apple.  The pc also does not recognise the iPhone.  The phone was originally purchased in March of this year, so it is under 12 months old.  Has anybody encountered this problem and or know how I can fix the phone? Thanks

You have apparently purchased a jailbroken phone.  You can try to get it into recovery mode, then restore as new, but no guarantee it will work.

  • Acrobat Pro "save as" function in the file menu does not show the current directory of the file

I have installed CC but Acrobat Pro gives me headaches.
The "save as" function in the file menu does not show the current directory of the file but something I have worked on in the past.
It forces me to navigates through my hard disk for this very straightforward thing in normal conditions. I precise: Acrobat is the only software reacting like that.
    I use Windows7 professional 64bits.

I use what seems to be the latest version available on the Cloud:
To illustrate my point, I open a directory with explorer and double-click on the only PDF in there:
    So here it is, open:
When I do a "Save as", it takes me to a totally different place on the disk!
    Very annoying...
    Thanks for your time!

  • Itunes does not recognise the ipod after update to itunes 8.2.0.23

Hi, Now find, after putting new songs in my play list, that when I plug in ipod to update songs on ipod itunes does not recognise the ipod.
The version of iTunes I updated to was 8.2.0.23 - everything worked fine until then. I see there is a newer version 8.2.1 now available - do you think by installing this the "unable to recognise" problem would be fixed???
    Thanks for your thoughts!

I have a similar problem with the iPhone. Tried everything you can think of and then some. There is apparently some devastating bug 7.6 introduced into normal USB device recognition. I've been able to force the phone into recovery mode; the boot recovery USB driver does still work. Restoring the phone every time I need to sync is both scary and time-consuming.

  • HT1430 i have a red X in a circle which sometimes changes to the apple logo but no matter what instructions i try nothing else happens.  My computer nor i tunes does not recognise the ipod.

I have a red X in a circle which sometimes changes to the apple logo but nothing else happens after i try every suggestion; Windows nor itunes does not recognise the ipod; what do you suggest?

You could possibly try a restore from itunes or from the ipod itself, otherwise go get it looked at/replaced, that sounds like a software issue.

I have an iPod Touch 4th gen player and cannot connect to a Sony blu-ray BDV-E970W player. Sony system does not recognise the iPod. Do I need to link the Sony to the net and upgrade the software on the dvd player?

As the other replier said, contact Sony. It may not be compatible with the iPod.

Try and force iPad into Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

  • Exported my video from Elements 12 but Powerpoint does not recognise the video file. How can we do it?

Exported my video from Elements 12 - format mp4 but Powerpoint does NOT recognise the video file. Why?

.wpl appears to be a Windows Media Player playlist. I can find no conversion software for that, and Windows Media Player is not available for Mac anymore.
If you can persuade him to download iTunes and create the playlist as mp3 in a iTunes playlist, or even just burn the base mp3 files to CD as a data disc, that's about the only solutions I can suggest.

  • HT5957 my ipad is dissabled as it does not recognise the pass word i have put in after software update

My ipad is dissabled as it does not recognise the passcode i have put in after updating the software . How can i unlock ?

I updated my iPhone 4S to IOS 7.0.2 then tried to use a complex password instead of 4 numbers.
Even though the password was verified and correct, I am now locked out of my device.
Unfortunately I do not have a recent backup of my device and, as far as I know, a restore from backup is the only solution to the problem.

I am trying to install a brand new WD 500 gb sata internal hd in my macbook pro. the original install dvd does not recognise the hd. all hardware is ok. any help?

For some reason OS X disks (whatever edition or flavors) that are supplied with Apple products only seem to contain a limited knowledge of available hard drives on the market at the time of thier publishing. This (rather opportunistically) creates a "Best Before" stale-OS X-software-copy situation where upgrading to or replacing a defective internal SATA hard drive with a newer, better or larger one is a largely hit and miss affair.
If you buy the latest and greatest disk drive available for any older Mac you are likely to run into unresolvable problems making a clean re-install of your own, old edition or flavor of OS X onto any newer or larger hard drive since the OEM (gray) "OS X Install Disks" that Apple supply with retail products seem to contain only time-sensitive lists/mapings of then-known target drives that the Drive Management Tool in the then-published old "Installer Software" will support.
Presumably new (colorful "X") retail versions of OS X (10.whatever.whatever) also contain time-limited Installers with limited knowledge of and adaptability to/compatability with a limited number of old hard drives then kicking-around on the market.
This is especially a problem nowadays since the countless "puny old" hard drives that have been on the market are largely obsolete in a few months time, as manufacturers continue to produce larger and cheaper units, discontinuing older puny products... So if your drive fails you need an exact old (or similar familial) replacement drive for your "backup copy of OS X" to do a fresh, clean OS X re-install. Otherwise you need to purchase a new retail version of OS X, since yours is now effectively obsolete. Purchasing an old, puny drive to re-install your version.flavor of OS X to avoid buying a new version of OS X is a rather false economy.
If you still have a working old hard drive with your old polluted 10.version.flavor of OS X still working on it you apparently must clone it with Time Machine or the newest version of Disk Utility (disk image copying) to most newer, larger drives, and a clean reinstall to such new hard drives is not possible.
