SQL Query Works in MS SQL Server 2008 but not when using Database Toolkit

I have this SQL query:

Which takes a comma delimited string and returns the string as a table. It works correctly in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio. When I run this as a stored procedure I get back nothing. There are no errors, SQL or otherwise. I've verified that I am connected to the correct database and that the stored procedure is loaded by changing the no error string that is reported from this stored procedure (that code is not shown in the above example). Has anyone seen this problem before, or have any experiance with SQL/Labview interfaces to tell me what I'm doing wrong?

After doing some more research it appears that the database toolkit cannot interface with any table results from any type of temp table. It may have to do with the fact that MS SQL 2008 stores temp tables in a seperate database (tempdb) and not the database you are currently connected to. If possible, I'd like a someone to prove me wrong, but for now will have to settle for exporting the contents of a temp table through a string.

JNI Works for application, but not when used over Tomcat...

I am having problems getting JNI to work when I try to run a Servlet that invokes native calls.
I have a small, simple java program, just to test the waters, that simple calls a small shared library. It works like magic when I run the program as a simple application.
However, when I turn it into a Servlet, I get the following runtime errors:

Now, just to be sure, I removed the native call from the servlet, and ran it again...no problem this time. So I know that it has to be the native call that is causing this.
I have to say that I am still a bit new to JNI (book is in the mail form amazon still, hehe)...any ideas would really be appreciated.
I have a feeling that this may have little or nothing to do with JNI...but it seems to be related in some way.

Well, I have came to the same conclusion, that the problem that I am having is directly related to the security policy that Tomcat runs under.
However, I have not been able to figure out exactly what I need to change....
I have altered the tomcat.policy file in a number of ways, including (for testing purposes) allowing full permission on the site that has the JNI servlet on it.
I have also done the same for the folder containing the shared library, I don't know if mattered, but I tried to be sure.
At this point, I have ordered a number of books from Amazon that should (hopefully) have some answers, but it is still a bit confusing that after allowing all permissions (and rebooting) that it still failed to work.
Dose anyone know how that you would allow native methods to be called in a policy file?

VI Works Single Step at a Time, But Not When Run Normally

I'm very new to LabView and have created a simple VI to record a single measurement from my HP 34401A Multimeter over an RS 232 connection.
The problem that I'm having is that the VI only works when I run it a single step at a time (clicking the single step button until it's completed). When I try to run the entire thing though, I get the following error:
Error -1073807339 occurred at VISA Read in Untitled 2
Possible reason(s):
VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0015) Timeout expired before operation completed.
After reading through the help page for that error, I tried adding a time delay, but that did not fix the problem.

NI I/O Trace didn't provide any answers for me, but I've attached a shot. Lines 1-13 are from the single step run, the rest are from attempting to run the entire thing at once.

The only thing I can think of is that you are sending the remote command and then not waiting long enough for it to complete. The manual states:
It is very important that you send the
SYSTem:REMote command
to place the multimeter in the remote mode. Sending or receiving data
over the RS-232 interface when not configured for remote operation can
cause unpredictable results.
And I think we are experiencing unpredictable results.
i don't know if you can change the command into a query by using the *OPC? command, but using that could solve it - or we could run into the same issue because of the caveat mentioned above. Maybe you have to put a manual wait in between the remote command and the write command.

FONT ISSUES: Fonts work perfectly in Indesign 5.5 but not when dragged into CC.

When I open a file using Indesign 5.5, it is absolutely perfect. When I drag it to Indesign CC, it tells me that there are fonts missing. Then I cannot update those fonts because they dont appear. My font management software (Suitcase Fusion) is completely up to date. It has become a big problem for us.

Willi, That was plan b according to Adobe support. I'm pretty sure that packaging the file while in 5.5, then opening in CC would have worked.
Plan A (from Adobe support) worked which was copying the necessary fonts from the system (or from packaging the file in 5.5), into The fonts foler located in "Applications-->Adobe InDesign CC-->Fonts".

SQL query works in SSIS, SSMS/SQL server but fails in deployment?

The SQL query in my execute sql task is correct. It works in SSIS and SSMS also. But, it fails when I deploy my package. The error -
Code: 0xC002F210
Source: MySQLTask Execute SQL Task Description: Executing the query
"UPDATE [MyTable] SET MyCol..."
failed with the following error: "Invalid object name 'MyTable'.".
Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query "ResultSet" property
not set correctly parameters not set correctly or connection not established

What could be the reason for this error and how do I fix it ?

Does the database have the object [MyTable]? What is the default schema for the user? Is the table (assuming it exists) in the default schema for the user?

Yes, the DB has the object [MyTable]. The default schema is dbo, as given by SELECT SCHEMA_NAME()

PL/SQL function body returning SQL query - ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error

I'm attempting to dynamically generate a rather large SQL query via the "PL/SQL function body returning SQL query" report region option. The SQL query generated will possibly be over 32K. When I execute my page, I sometimes receive the "ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error" which points to a larger than 32K query that was generated. I've seen other posts in the forum related to this dynamic SQL size limitation issue, but they are older (pre-2010) and point to the 32K limit of the DNS (EXECUTE IMMEDIATE) and DBMS_SQL. I found this post (dynamic sql enhancements in 11g) which discusses 11g no longer having the 32K size limitation for generating dynamic SQL. Our environment is on 11gR2 and using ApEx 4.2.1. I do not know which dynamic SQL method -- DNS or DBMS_SQL -- ApEx 4.2.1 is using. Can someone clarify for me which dynamic SQL method ApEx uses to implement the "PL/SQL function body returning SQL query" option?
As a test, I created a page on apex.oracle.com with a report region with the following source:

The dbms_output section is there to be able to run this code in SQL*Plus and confirm the size of the SQL is indeed larger than 32K. When running this in SQL*Plus, the procedure is successful and produces a proper SQL statement which can be executed. When I put this into the report region on apex.oracle.com, I get the ORA-06502 error.
I can certainly implement a work-around for my issue by creating a 'Before Header' process on the page which populates an ApEx collection with the data I am returning and then the report can simply select from the collection, but according to documentation, the above 32K limitation should be resolved in 11g. Thoughts?

What setting do you use in your report properties - especially in Type and in Region Source?
If you have Type="SQL Query", then you should have a SELECT statement in the Region Source. Something like: SELECT .... FROM ... WHERE
According to the ERR-1101 error message, you have probably set Type to "SQL Query (PL/SQL function body returning SQL query)". In this situation APEX expects you to write a body of a PL/SQL function, that will generate the text of a SQL query that APEX should run. So it can be something like:

And for escaping - are you interested in escaping the LIKE wildcards, or the quotes?
For escaping the wildcards in LIKE function so that when the user enters % you will find a record with % and not all functions, look into the SQL Reference:

(You would than need to change the code of your function accordingly).
If you are interested in escaping the quotes, try to avoid concatenating the values entered by the user into the SQL. If you can, use bind variables instead - as I have in my example above. If you start concatenating the values into the text of SQL, you are open to SQLInjection - user can enter anything, even things that will break your SQL. If you really need to allow users to choose the operator, I would probably give them a separate combo for operators and a textfield for values, than you could check if the operator is one of the allowed ones and create the condition accordingly - and than still use bind variable for inserting the filtering value into the query.

I talked to the developer of the db adapter - and he told me this feature will be available in BPEL PM 10.1.3 (which is supposed to be production later this year, and a public beta soon). If this is an emergency I would recommend going throug Oracle support and have them file an enhancement for 10.1.2.0.2

When you say its taking too long to open the report, have you a variable screen coming up for the report and is that what is taking the time or is it the report execution.

Need some more info as to where this is installed and how.
First thing to try would be to uninstall the solution and reinstall.
Check the GAC for your assembly as well as web.config.
If you don't see it in one of those places, something went wrong with the install and you'll need to start over.

Since you have identified the 2 xml files are identical, according to my knowledge, there maybe a compatibility issue with IE 9 and SSRS 2008 R2, so I suggest that you could run the report in compatibility mode. Please make sure you have turned on Compatibility
View in Internet Explorer 9 by following steps:
When Internet Explorer recognizes that a webpage is not compatible, you will see the Compatibility View button on the Address bar. Try clicking it.
When Compatibility View is turned on, the button changes from an outline to a solid color when you view the page.

PDF form submission problem - works in Acrobat and Reader, but not when embedded in browser

Hello everyone,
I am trying to submit a PDF form to an application server.
To do this, I added a "Submit" button to the PDF, configured the server's address and submit format, and tested the button.
I opened the PDF in Acrobat Pro, clicked the button, and my web application received the form in PDF format just as I wanted.
To make it work in Reader, I had to extend user rights via Acrobat Pro, and then the form worked inside Reader as well.
Up to here, everything went fine.
Then I embedded the PDF in a web page (which will be the final scenario) and it all stopped working.
The submit button doesn't do anything anymore, and no data is sent to the application server.
I even tried switching from the form's submit mechanism to calling event.target.submitForm(...) in Javascript directly, but nothing changed (meaning this too worked only when opening the form as an "offline" pdf, but not when embedding it in a web page).
Is there something I am missing? Something else that must be configured/activated in order to be able to submit the PDF when it is in the form of an embedded object?

I tested the submit button both in Reader 9.3 and Acrobat 8 (which is the same I used to RE the PDF).
Apparently I got it working too, but only by deploying my embedding web page to an application server.
The final environment the PDF will be embedded into will be inside a web application deployed to an application server, so I guess my problem is solved.

Podcast - works on iTunes page but not when subscribed

Hi, I produced my podcast, submitted the feed through iTunes store and was validated. However, it happens so that people can listen to the podcast on iTunes page but not when they subscribe to it and try to download. error points to URL issues apparently. Help.

It works perfectly well for me. On subscribing I saw all three episodes and downloaded and played Episode 2 without any problems. The only explanations I can suggest are that either some of your subscribers are having some sort of technical issue at their end: or that your server is intermittently sulking and failing to respond to requests. Try playing the episode from this link a few times on spaced-out occasions and see whether you ever get a failure:
