SRM Local Purchase Order with both a standard line item and limit item...

In SRM is it standard that you can create a local purchase order from the sourcing cockpit that contains a mix of limit items and standard items?
I know this can be done in R/3.

Paul,
I am a functional/business person, and we are running SRM550 in extended classic, linking to ERP backed.
From our business point of view it makes little sense to mix a limit item with one or more standard catalog item. SAP standard SRM 550 actually stops our users from doing this.
For those who are not aware of the differences I will elaborate.
A standard item is either from a Free Text entry process with the process being completed by a professional purchaser or a catalog item either internal to SRM, or maybe from an external website.
Limit orders are value based and are mostly used for the payment of Utility bills, or for services. We don't use services at all.
In our business we use limit orders for an Electricity Bill for example.
When the user confirms a limit order the quantity should always be 1 and the user enters the value of the item.
The Invoice entry team then needs to match the Invoice to the GR line.  It's at this point that if you have Limit items and standard items mixed our invoice entry team could run into problems.
We are aware that it is not recommended practice for Limit orders to have GR and if you can avoid this step then you should.  Unfortunately our operating model insist on everything being confirmed and in the case of limit orders this can cause us invoice blocking issues.
Limit orders are normally set up to run for a full FY so the addition of standard catalog items to a limit order makes little or no business sense.
If a user added two limit items to a shopping cart for the same supplier our system would produce two PO's for the supplier to use.
We actually avoid transmitting Limit order details to our suppliers as this would indicate the maxiumum value they could invoice us for, businesses just don't do that.  We just send them the PO number and description of the item. This provides them with a PO Ref number to puton their invoices.
As we are still running SRM 550 maybe someone with SRM 7 knowledge would care to expand on this analysis?
Hope this helps?
Allen
PS We don't use the Sourcing Cockpit, just read your earlier response

  • SRM local Purchase Order output error

    Hi Folks,
Please can somebody suggest any hints for the following error. Our SRM local Purchase Orders that are either emailed, faxed or printed are suddenly showing the error message 'Incorrectly processed' on the output log. The same error is also shown in the systems log at tcode slg1:
    "Error  Error when sending to
Error  Error in address output (name not filled).
Error  Action could not be successfully executed "
Any help at this stage would be welcome!
    Ciao.
    Mikey.

    Hi Mike,
There may be many reason for this error.Once output of PO fails, you get error of this form.
See if anyone has changed anything in smartform/PDF which you are trying to output as PO.This may happen because of that changes.
Check with basis if they have changed any setting SCOT transaction.
Check the vendor master which you are using is having commucation details like E-Mail or Fax or print option set against it.

  • Creating an SRM Purchase Order with a Return Line

Is it possible within standard SRM to create a purchase order with a 'Returns Item' line?
I know it's possible in R/3 but really need to create it via SRM.
    Regards
    Keith

    Ganesh
We are using the Extended Classic Scenario of SRM (and the Sourcing Cockpit) which therefore means that we won't be creating requisitions within R/3.
In the R/3 PO you can create a line item as a 'Returns Line' (MEPO1211-RETPO)
The standard help text is as follows:
    Logistics - General (LO)
The returned goods from a customer to an internal or external vendor.
Returns can be divided into the following types, according to vendor and recipient:
    Customer returns
    Returns to vendor
    Returns for stock transfers
I know we can use a BADI to mark this flag in R/3 but for completeness really want to show this as a returns line in SRM too.

  • How to find import and local  purchase order for report

    Dear Friends,
Please help me in coding this report, =below is the functional requirement.
    1. To find the list of Import or Local Purchase Orders(purchase orders to be procured from another country).
2.Once the import purchase order is selected .The report sould display the PO number ,Currency , Value , po Date , Planned recipt date ,
BUy from vendor , ship from vendor , Origin Country, Destination country, and Status of the PO.
I am clear about the PO number Currency ,value and po date but could not get how do i fetch the details like:--Planned recipt date ,
BUy from vendor , ship from vendor , Origin Country, Destination country, and Status .
    Your help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
Buy from vendor is the real vendor who is supplying the items while Ship from vendor is the vendor who just arrange for the transport. This should be maintained in the pruchase order, just consult with your MM consultant to get where they are storing those details

  • Validity start & end, in Purchase Order with limit

    Hi All,
We are using  a model of SAP with one type of Purchase Order: we have created a new type of purchase order (ZFOA), that we use for all purchase orders.
Now we want to use ZFOA also for Blanket Purchase Order, instead of the standard type proposed for this scope by SAP (FO).
We have inserted Validity Start & Validiti End  as Optional Entry in Customizing.
( IMG - MM - Purchasing - Purchase Ordrer - Define Screen Layout at Document Level).
We have inserted them as Optional Entries, and not as Required Entries, because they are Required only for Blanket Purchase Order. (and we use ZFOA for all ours types of Purchase Order)
So i want to know if it's possible to connect the obligatory requirement of these two entries to:
    - ZFOA (type of Purchase Order)
    - B (Item category in Purchase Order)
    In this way:
    1) when i create a PO (ZFOA) without item category B --> Validity date & Validity End are not obligatory fields
    2) when i create a PO (ZFOA) with item category B ---> Validity date & Validity End are  obligatory !!
    Have you got any Solutions??
    Best regards
    Alba

    Thanks very much!
Now i found in MM SAP Manual (SCM 520, Purchasing) a similar example, and it could seem possible:
When creating a standard purchase order with the standard item category, the following field selection key is determined for the Material group field:
    • Field selection key ME21N (Create/Change Purchase Order transaction):
The Material Group field is an optional field.
    • Field selection key AKTH(Create activity category):
The Material Group field is an optional field.
    • Field selection key NBF (purchasing document type NB):
The Material Group field is an optional field.
    • Field selection key PT0F (item category Standard):
The Material Group field is a mandatory (required-entry) field.
The combination of field selection keys ME21N, AKTH and NBF means that the field is an optional field. Because the Material Group field is defined as a mandatory field in the field selection key PT0F however, this means that the field requires an entry when a purchase order is being created.
I have the same problem for Validity start field, but why if i do all of this things, the field remain not mandatory?
    Thanks in advance
    Best regards

  • Changing a Purchase Order with "BAPI_PO_CHANGE"

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to change the Confirmation data for an existing PO using the BAPI "BAPI_PO_CHANGE".
I am filling the PO Number in the "PURCHASEORDER" Import parameter.
I am also filling the "CONF_TYPE", "DELIV_DATE" and "QUANTITY" fields in the "POCONFIRMATION" Table parameter which is specifically the data i need to add to the existing PO under the "Confirmations" tab of the PO.
I am getting all the input data for the BAPI from a file on the presentation server. The file has details of Material Number, Purchase Order Number, Ship to Address, Delivery Date and Quantity.
But i am not able to change any data in the Purchase Order when i test the BAPI. I am getting the following messages in the "RETURN" Tables parameter:
    T ID                   NUM MESSAGE
W ME                   667 Max. line number reached (Please always first enter line number manually)
E BAPI                 003 Instance 45317399 of object type PurchaseOrder could not be changed
W ME                   178 Batch SURE not maintained for material 10013537 (please check your input)
E 06                   218 Net price must be greater than 0
I am not sure if i am missing to fill any parameter here.
Kindly help me in resolving this issue.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello to all,
that is just for documentation. SAP answerd the problem in OSS-304243 but this message is not accessable if you don't have powerful OSS-Users.
This SAP-note might be interesting: 197958
    OSS-Message 652796 8.8.2011
    BAPI_PO_CHANGE
We can not process confirmations by using the parameter poconfirmation.
The Baps reports always S 06 022 - no data changed.
In the SDN there are some hints telling that the BAPI_PO_CHANGE does notsupport processing of confirmations. More detailled infos should be in
the OSS-Message 0000304243 but this message is not accessable for us.
Can you confirm that the BAPI_PO_CHANGE does not support adding
confirmations? We debugged the BAPI and there is no code for updating
    confirmations found.

    Dear Bernhard,
I regret to inform you that the functionality you request is not
implemented in the R/3 standard system.
Unfortunately it is not possible to change/load confirmations with the
function module BAPI_PO_CREATE/BAPI_PO_CHANGE. Table POCONFIRMATION in
BAPI interface is relevant for Display/List Vendor Confirmation in BAPI,not for update/insert Vendor confirmation in PO.
Furthermore, we recommends that you use Idocs for automatically
entering confirmations. The Message type to use is ORDRSP.
You may read more about this topic in the online documentation.

  • Migrating Purchase order with intransit receipt and 3way matched invoice

    Hi All
Does oracle support to convert the following case from an old SOB to new SOB or from a legacy system to Oracle ebs:
    Purchase Order
PO receipt only made till Receive AND Deliver is still not done.
Invoice is already made and matched with PO and Receipt.
Does oracle interfaces support the above
    Please share your inputs
    Rgds
    Emm

    Dear Sandeep
Thanks for your inputs and apologies for a late reply
I am asking whether oracle has such an interface to migrate the folllowing kind of case from one SOB to another SOB
    PO made
Standard receipt made but only the receive part, not the deliver part
Invoice is made and matched with the PO and receipt but is yet unpaid
The above case remains till the cutover hence we need to migrate the PO, receipt and the invoice..right?
    How to do that
migrate the above all or cancel the invoice, cancel the receipt and cancel the PO than recreate the PO, Receipt and Invoice in the new SOB
    Please give your valuable inputs

  • Purchase order with referance to Purchase  requisition

    Dear All,
This is the requirement of <b>Purchase order creation with reference to Purchase requisition  only at the same time this requirement need to control particular document  type ( Ex: Standard purchase Order) only .</b>Based on this other document types should not effect.
Please give me the proper solution  for above.
    Regards,
    Krishna

    Dear Krishna Raju,
There is no configuration for the Purchase order with reference to Purchase requistion..
We can customise the Purchase order with reference to Purchase Requistion through the funcational authorisations.
    For this,
Define Functional Authorisations in the customizing for Purchasing, there we can unmark PO w/o reference allowed.
Functional Authorisation, like ''abc'' create with <b>T.Code OMET</b>
Assign ''abc'' to a Parameter ID ''def'' with the <b>T.Code SU52</b>
Mostly this Purchase order authorisations will be give BASIS consultants. Pls approch them for more clarity in this regard.

  • Is it possible to create purchase order with zero value ?

Is it possible to create purchase order with zero value ?

    Hi,
There are two scenarios where the purchase order is created with zero value.
    1. Standard Purchase order with Free tick indicator.
Whenever we expect a material with free of cost from vendor, we use to put the free indicator in item overview.  This means the material is valuated at zero price irrespective of price control in material master. Quanitiy is updated while receipts.
Conditions tab in item detail doesnt appear.
    2. Consignment PO.
While creating a purchase order for consignment, the system doesnt ask us the price and the condition tab doesnt appear in item detail.
An info record for consignment must be maintained before making the GR.
Hope i have clarified.  If you want any further clarification. please do reply.

  • Local Purchase Order

    Dear Gurus,
My SRM version is 5.0 and we are using ECS. when the shopping cart is created and ordered and the complete approvel process is execute successfully:
how do i create a Local Purchase order or do i need to use some BADI to create a a Local Purchase order. And if the local purchase order is created then which all tables are getting populated.
Please suggest me in the above issue.
    Points will be awarded.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Mohit.

    Hi Mohit,
Even though you are working in ECS, you can still create a Local Purchase order.
You should have a Local P.Org , Local P.Group , Local Product Category & Local Material for creating the local P.O.
This P.O will not be transferred to back end R/3. Only the Accounting document goes to back end R/3 when you post the invoice.
Hope this makes you clear. Clarifications are welcome.
    Rgds,
    Teja

  • Extended Classic: Only local Purchase Order Creating

We are using SRM 7.0 SP5 extended classic scenario.  The local purchase order is creating but the ERP PO is not creating.  There are no errors in RZ20, ST22 or SLG1.
I can't even tell if it is trying to  create a backend document.  I set a break in the CREATE_DOCUMENT method where the BAP_PO_CREATE1 FM is called but the break never gets hit.

    Azad,
Thanks for your answer.  I did not realize that in exteneded classic the local PO is created first and that the backend po only gets created once PO has been sent out.
For anyone else having this problem this is what I found:
When I edit the local PO and order the PO after fixing an output problem, (PO is setup for no approval) , I was then able to see the backend errors appear on the PO infoming me of what when wrong when the sytem attempted to create the ERP PO.
Also, you can debug from program B46B_DPO_TRANSFER...set a break on line 393, just before the BBP_PO_INBOUND function module is called.  Also that function module in the ERP system calls the BBP_PO_CREATE1 BAPI.
All this information has helped me answer my question....thanks for everyones help!

  • SRM List Purchase Orders

    Hi all,
there is any way to list and ONLY display purchase orders in SRM, without giving authorization to users to modify the Purchase Order. I have tried giving authorization to Process Purchase Order with activity 03 with no success.
Thanks for your help in advance.
    Best REgards,
    HT

    Hi
As per SAP's design, Purchase order authorizations are given to Buyers who can view and change documents. End Users are not supposed to create or change , display POs.
But you can achieve what you want:
    1. if you are on SRM 7.0, write small piece of code on Action EDIT for BUsiness object of PO in SRM and disable this button for the users  you want.
    2. if you are in SRM 5.0 or earlier releases, you may put a small piece of code in Check BADI or CUF BADI to control the behaviour of EDIT button. Check BADI can be used to throw an error based on the role of the user processing the PO

  • Goods receipt for purchase order with account assignment 'K'

    Hello All,
There are couple of purchase orders with acc.*** "K". On doing the GR for these PO's they have been done with mvt type 103 & mvt typ 105.
I understand that material has been directly consumed to the respective cost center.
How do track the internal movement for these materials??
I need to view the stock for these materials at the cost center as in MMBE the stock is seen as ZERO.
All these materials are with QM proc ACTIVE. So a goods receipt is done 105, then the inspection lot is cleared. However, in this case as the material is directly consumed, it is NOT displayed in QA32.
Is the above procedure correct??? Is it better to receive stock against mvt type 101 & then do a 201 mvt ??
    Request your inputs.....
    Regards,
    Manoj Reddy

Account assignment inventories are not maintained. To maintain a report for cost center receiving/issuing you need to make a customized report with help of ABAP.
Other way is to pull report in MB51, with selection criteria COST CENTER and it will give you result of stocks available on cost center. For stocks received on cost center, you can pull report with cost center and movement 101.
201 is used for goods issue to cost center from warehouse, the stock you receive from PO against 101 is directly charged to cost center, so no need to issue later to cost center.

  • Problem regarding Purchase Order with Free of Cost Material

    Dear Xperts,
I am facing problems while doing Goods Receipt of a Purchase Order having all the materials we are going to receive Free of Cost from the Vendor.
This case is happening with Doemstic and as well as Importer Vendors also.
    Problems to be solved:
    1. If we are using Tax Code(with excise conditions) ,excise duty calculation does not take pace automatically at Goods Receipt as the Material Value is Zero on which the duties will be calculated for a Manufactuing Plant.
    2. This case seems very problammatic if that Purchase Order is having almost thousand line items. The user has to enter all the Excise duties manually for each & every line item during Goods receipt in a manufacturing Plant.
    3. In case of Importer Purchase Order also, the CVD portion & CESS on CVD portion user has to enter manually.
    4. To solve this problem we are  not using Free Goods Indicator in PO, we are entering 0.01 paisa , but during the MIRO of Planned Delivery Costs , the system is not showing or providing POP-ups of those relevant condition types to the user to enter the actual amount.
Please advice, how can we proceed in this case.
    Regards,
    Soumick

First you are putting 0.01 value . So the planned delivery cost is not showing coz if say tax is 8% then 0.01 x 0.08 will be  0.0008. It will take first two digit after decimal and hence its 0.00 and hence plannded delivery cost is not showing.
If you put 0.5 you will be able to put planned delivery cost in MIRO
Now regarding value is zero and how will the import duty be calculated. May be make a  pricing routine where in the custom duty is not calculated on this base price 0.5 or 0.01 but on the actual value if it was not free of cost and that value you can maintain  through MEK1 transaction code.
And while posting MIRO or MIGO you need to identify that these are free of cost material and use BADI fi_ac_document
and may be replace the actual GL with some other GL so that 0.5 or 0.01  does not add to your inventory cost and you could knock off later.
