Hi Ganesh
Spend Analytics, or Spend Performance Management (SPM) as its now referred to is an analytical tool for analyzing procurement data. I am the dev architect of this product and can try and answer any question you might have.
SPM comes with a extractor starter kit for ECC, SRM and eSourcing.
This application is based on BW backend and Flex frontend.
For detailed documentation here is the link in Svc Marketplace:

    Hi all,
I understand implementing Spend analytics if you are merging SAP and non SAP data into SAP BW.
However, if all your data is coming from SRM and ECC what is the value added? There is an OSS note to be applied to get some additional Z* extractors into ECC/SRM but wouldn't reporting from std. BC would do just the same thing, i.e. combining data from contracts, POs, invoices and AP.
    thanks

    Hi Joseph
I am the dev architect for SPM (Spend Performance Management) application. This also used to be known as Spend Analytics. I can try and answer any question you might have for this application.
Collating data from multiple sources and classification and normalization of that data is just the starting point. A very important one, because without a normalized data set (at least Suppliers, Categories and Regions), there is no good way of getting that strategic view on the data set. Once you have a consilated data set you can then build upon it to gain further insight into your Spend data from a higher level analytical point of view.
So not only you can have a complete view on your Spend data by /* dimensions (like Supplier, Category, Item etc), but also, the next level, answer a lot of additional analytical questions like is my purchasing optimized across suppliers, whats my off contract Spend, what is my Spend variance. The level after that is bringing in budgeting/forecasting information, tying it in with Spend projects (if purchasing orgs are set up for project driven purchasing methodologies) and finally add elements like supplier risk analysis and commodity price tracking.
Additionally integration with other transaction systems allows for closed loop actionable analytics.
Voodi's post above is correct, especially when it comes to IT/admin side of the application. BW expertise is a must and Spend training/implementation exposure is a plus. But for the business user/end user this is a much simplified application, especially compared to our previous offerings (the BEx portfolio). We believe that a novice user can use Spend and rampup pretty quickly.
So, as you can see, SPM covers a lot more than just consolidation of Spend data. Source of data (SAP systems  and others) are your starting point.
    Hope that answers.

  • Spend Analytics

What cube(s) should be used to get actual spend dollars (invoices) for POs?  The main PO cube only shows PO amounts, we want the actual amount spend by invoice.  This is from our R/3 system, not from SRM, so we cannot use the cubes 0BBP_C01 or 0SR_FIC01 because those get their data from SRM, correct?

  • XSA 2.0 - Spend analytics datasources

    Hi all,
In Spend Analytics, I see that the datasources are delivered as a transport package under customer namespace. And in all the documents I have come across till now refer to as the datasources spitting out flat files to a folder, where the BI will pick the file from. In our installation, We wont be having any 3rd party source system or sending out files to 3rd party for data cleansing, normalizing etc. So on a whole, we will have only one source system which is SAP and all the data cleanisng will be done within either BI/ECC.
So now my question is, instead of making my extractors spit out flat files, Can I generate datasources out of them and use as normal ECC datasources? CAN I? If so, will these datasources support delta?
    Thanks,
    Voodi

  • Documentation around Spend analytics 2.0 (0ASA_MP01)

    Hi,
Did anybody find documentation around Spend analytics 2.0 business content (0ASA_MP01)? I do see documentation around 1.0 but nothing around 2.0
SAP Folks - do you guys know where I can find it or any idea when it will be made available in help.sap.com
I'm kinda lost and all I have right now is the dataflow diagram in one of SAP presentations - nothing that mentions the datasources, process chains, procedure to load Direct update DSO's  etc.

  • Spend Analytics 2.0 Compatability

Does anyone know if the configuration identified will work?  Is the data flow correct?  Is there a better path that should be laid out??
R/3 4.7 and R/3 4.6b both are non Unicode and both feed a BI 7.0.3 Unicode environment
BI 7.0 has BI 7.0 Security enabled as well as Spend Analytics required content
SA 2.0 sits on top of BI 7.0 and data transfers back and forth
BI 7.0 connects to EP 6.0.
Does SA 2.0 work with EP 6.0?
Do the R/3 sources require upgrading to Unicode?
    Thanks

  • Procurement and spend analytics

    Hi All,
Can anyone have a documentation on procurement and spend analytics?

  • Spend Analytics Delivered Flash Dashboards

I've been going through the doc, and I can't find where you activate/add the delivered Flash dashboards for Spend Analytics.  The company I work for is looking into implementing this, but they want some sort of demo first.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?  I've read all the doc about setting stuff up, etc., and I can open the Portal page, but there's nothing there.  I can't find how you put the dashboards out there.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Tom
It seems to me that you have not deployed the Spend Application but are directly working under the hood in BW. Pls correct me if I am mistaken.
Spend has a Flex (Adobe Flash) based front end, with a built in Data Management tool available for the administrators. This tool knows how to talk to the datasources in the sourcesystem and load data into Spend DSOs and Masterdata, especially if you are using the Spend extractor starter kit.
For more information on how to use the data mgmt tool, pls visit the Spend help.sap.com site at http://help.sap.com/content/bobj/sbu/docu_sbs_xsa_design.htm
    Hope that helps.

  • Spend Analytics - SP6 patch

    Hi all,
We have performance problems with Spend Analytics in production system. So that, we implement the SP6 patch 1 in portal development system. Besides, we follow the steps through the SDN document: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/709f5e74-837b-2d10-09b8-82aae582bca3.
At last, we started the testing of the reports with this upgrade and we saw the folloging:
    1) In the ratios where you can choose the "local currency" and "transactional currency" , the checkbox "currency" is disabled.
    2) In the "properties" of the reports, the url dissapeared. We need this URL for others requirements.
    3) When we maximize the windows in order to see more rows of the report, We can not enter the name of Dimensions and / or ratios in the dialog box. This dialog box is located in the left of the monitor and it is used to search de dimensions or ratios quickly.
    4) We modified the model with certains extra characteristics and the Sp6 patch was applied in BW too. So, does it replace the old model with new modifications? I dont see any variation in BW model....
    Regards,
    Gastó

    Hi Gaston,
    1) could you calrify this point? I'm not sure what is meant here
    2) Have you saved your report? You need to have saved the report for the URL to exist. I still see a URL on SP6 P3.
    3) Note 1603200 was released to describe this behaviour. This is an Adobe Flex design limitation, rather than an SPM one. Check this link for a work around that may help. [Email Button in SPM|Email Button in SPM]
    4) Patches do also affect the ABAP side, however it does not reinstall business content. Some ABAP changes changes are released as separate notes. You can view all of these by looking at all of the notes and filtering on EPM-SA as the "Application Area". Consult note 1424521 SPM 2.1 "central release note", that gives a summary of expected changes both in the UI and on the ABAP stack.
    Hope this helps,
    Kind regards,
    Neil

  • I am unable to maintain global settings in spend analytics UI,

    Dear spend Analytics experts,
I am unable to maintain global settings in spend analytics UI,
Also I understood from the spend analytics material that the standard templates should be available as part of standard templates.
To give more info  I follow data source methods from ECC to BI load data, the data is in BI now.. and also have maintained the table settings in BI (OPM_SOURCES)
In spend analytics UI I could see the data source quires as measures , dimensions but in data managements (global settings and template administration) unable to figure out what is the issues.
Pls let me know how do I get standard template in Spend analytics UI.?
Also let me know if u need more info to understand my issues, I really appreciate your help u2026
    Rgds,

Thanks Rohit for your reply, sure i will check all the listed web services as you mentioned..
coming to datasurces config , I follow the process which is there in material to generate data sources.
FYI I have scheduled the data loads to BI  until PSA.. its successfully loaded but still have to validate the data, I assume that we
have to load data until PSA, then use perform data load process form SPM UI.? Correct me if I am wrong?

  • OBIA 7.9.6 and procurement & spend analytics

    Hi,
I have a doubt on OBIA 7.9.6 application.
My OLTP source is JD Edwards.
They bought Financial analytics, procurement and spend analytics. As we knew that financial anlytics come with prefixed star schema, informatica mappings and DAC settings.
They also wanted to implement procurement and spend analytics. My question is whether we need to develop a customised data model or Oracle would provide the data model, then our job is to map with OLTP?.
I am not sure on this. If anyone knew this how to proceed on this, pls let me know.
    Thanks

    Ahmed,
if you dont want to edit any mapping, then you can populate the data into some un-used column in the ETL and change the name of the column in RPD.
Though this is not a good approach, but you can try this.

  • Csv files for OBIA procurement and spend analytics

    hi,
which csv files we need to configure in order to install OBIA 7.9.6.3 procurement and spend analytic for EBS R12 1 3 as source?
In documentation, oracle given set of files for 11i & R12? do we need to configure csv files for both version ???
As per documentation, counter files for , CSV files req for source as 11i are not there in R12???
    please guide???

    Hi,
To be safe, configure all of the domain value files documented in the section http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E20490_01/bia.7963/e19039/configsupplychain.htm#CACIEBBH
Do this regardless of whether they state 11i or R12 in the filename. Some of the files have not changed from 11i adapters, so the filenames have not been updated e.g. domainValues_Employee_Expense_Type_ora11i.csv

  • Basic question about SRM analytics

    Hi Experts !!
We have implemented SRM analytics by installing BI contents (Cube and below flow and BI queries).
Is that the only way to implement analytics ? (especially for SRM/Spend analytics)
Or do we install some application ? if so, please share that info.
(if you have installed by BI content, please let us know which version of BI ?)
    Thanks a lot !!

    Hi Pratik
For analytical needs of ECC/SRM/eSourcing ere is a complementary analytical application for procurement analysis thats part of the Enterprise Performance Management category. The name of this application is Spend Performance Management. This is based on BW backend with a Adobe Flex frontend
