SSO Database Store not authenticating
Hi Everyone,
Iam trying to use the Microsoft SSO Database to try authenticating to SAP NetWeaver Portal for content integration.
The SAP user id is configured with password , we are able to use these credentials and login to SAP Portal.
But when we are launching the iView WebPart - it is passing the j2ee_guest user id and the page in not displayed in Sharepoint - either it goes into a loop / it is giving the iView Runtime Error ( log files in portals shows the j2EE_guest user details).
Any idea what am I missing here?
Thanks,
Uma.
Thanks William.
This is the logs Iam seeing in the sharepoint side , when we are trying to view the SAP WD iView in WebPart.
Iam not sure whether the sso store in MS Portal needs some change - Can suggest ?

Peer not authenticated error recieved when discovering new database targets
I am using OEM GC 10.2.0.4 On one of my OEM servers I get an error when attempting to discover new database targets. This occurs on the two database servers used for development. I can successfully discover targets on the OEM server itself.
The error is "peer not authenticated"
Also this error is recieved when trying to configure a database
oracle.sysman.emSDK.emd.comm.CommException: peer not authenticated
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the agents on both servers. After uninstalling the agent the command
exec mgmt_admin.cleanup_agent('HOSTNAME:AGENT_PORT');
commit;
was run on the OEM repository database.
Any suggestions as to what might be causing this?
Thanks.Here is the solution
peer not authenticated?
Hope this helps.

Hello,
I've been running the DMV 'sys.event_log', and have noticed that I am getting a lot of errors about connection issues to some of my SQL Azure databases saying "Database could not be opened. May be caused because database does not exist or lack of authentication
to open the database."
The event type column says: 'connection_failed' and the event_subtype_desc column says: 'failed_to_open_db' both are associated with the above error message.
I know that these databases are on-line as I have numerous people connected to them, all of whom are not experiencing any issues. My question is, is there a query that you can run on SQL Azure to try and find out a bit more information about the connection
attempts?
If this was a hosted SQL solution it would be much easier.
MarcusHello,
As for Windows Azure SQL Database, we can't access the error log file as On-premise SQL Server. Currently, it is only support troubleshooting the connection error with the following DMV. The SQL database connections events are collected and aggregated in
two catalog views that reside in the logical master database: sys.database_connection_stats and sys.event_log. We can use sys.event_log view to display the details if there is error occurs.
Just as the connection failed describe, it may ocurrs when user didnot has login permission when connect to the SQL Database. If so, please verify the user has logon permission.

Hi Experts,
In oracle DB, we have created Users table which store whole users' information, and we want to display related information derived from DB in weblogc console according to the following link: http://docs.tpu.ru/docs/oracle/en/fmw/11.1.1.6.0/bi.1111/e10543/privileges.htm#CHDFHDBE
(Note: use '3.4.3 Configuring a Database as the Authentication Provider')
After all steps, restart all services, we can see all user in db who showed in console and author user can login EM and Console page, However,we can not open presentation sevices

SSO SDK does not monitor expired SSO sessions
I am currently integrating APEX 4.2 with Oracle Single Sign-on server 10g using the SSO SDK. I have configured multiple applications and I am able to authenticate with 1 then seamlessly authenticate into the others.
What I am attempting to resolve is the SSO SDK’s inability to detect when an SSO session has expired and requires re-authentication. The scenario is as follows:
1. SSO Global Inactivity Timeout set to 30 minutes.
2. APEX application Idle times set to 30 minutes.
3. Authenticate with SSO using Self Service Console.
4. Leave console idle for 30 minutes.
5. Click tab in Self Service console. Session expiry page displayed and user asked to re-authenticate.
6. Open partner APEX application. APEX session is not authenticated, so redirects to SSO server.
7. As the session has expired and requires re-authentication then user should be directed to login screen, but is authenticated and returned to the APEX application.
Is this expected behaviour with the SSO SDK and APEX?
Oracle’s recommendation is to incorporate the SSO SDK with Apex for SSO authentication. However, it seems like session management within the SSO SDK has been neglected. We really need someone at Oracle to provide best practise for APEX, SSO and session management.
Thanks in advanceScott,
Thanks for your reply. I double check instruction and re-done all steps. I try to start demo application (I didn't even go further tneh step 4 in Install.txt!)
from ...\ssosdk307_032101\demo\plsql\Readme.txt 5. To verify the web server setup, go to the following URL to see the test page:
http://<hostname>:<port>/pls/<dad_name>/<schema_name>.test_setup
, but I receive the same error messages in IE and in Apache error_logs.
I see at this point one weak area - this is DAD. As I understand I need to create dad in dads.conf, am I right?
Maybe I didn't created it right?
Could you post some working dad for SingleSignOn?
Thanks,

Thanks, Pavan MCTS-Microsoft Biztalk Windows Server 2010Hi,
This error generally arises when your system datetime is not in sync with the Domain Controller datetime. Try following steps:
1. Check if the Windows Time Service is running on your machine or not. Try restarting this service and then restart host instances. Then run your script.
2. If this does not works, have a look at this
link
Hope this will help.

CRVS2010 beta - Date field from database does not display in report
Hi there - can someone please help?!
I am getting a problem where a date field from the database does not display in the report viewer (It displays on my dev machine, but not on the client machines...details given below)
I upgraded to VS 2010
I am using the CRVS2010 Beta
My development machine is Windows 7 - and so is my fellow developer's
We are using Microsoft SQL Server 2000
We run the queries within VS and then we send the data table to VS using .SetDataSource
We have a few reports which display the date on our dev machines (whether we run the EXE or from within Visual Studio)
When we roll out to the client machines (running Windows XP SP3) then everything works, except that the date does not display (on quite a few reports)
This is the only real issue I have had - a show stopper for me
The rest works well - any input will be greatly appreciated
Regards,
RidwanHi Ridwan,
After much testing I have it all working now using CRDB_adoplus.dll as a data source ( XML )
Alter your Config file to look like this:
<startup useLegacyV2RuntimeActivationPolicy="true">
<supportedRuntime version="v4.0"/>
</startup>
Then using the code below, and CR requires the Schema to be able to read the date format.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advanceWe had a similar issue. It was because some garbage was in the repository and the etc/hosts file needed tweeking.
Here is what we did....
Issue:
"Communication from the Oracle Management Service host to the Agent host failed. Refer to help for details. peer not authenticated"
1. Stop OEM agent on problem host
2. Login to oem console and note the problematic host name & agent port exactly as it appears in the OEM console.
3. Remove all targets for this agent via the OEM console.
4. Remove agent via OEM console.
5. Login to repository database as sys and run the following command:
exec mgmt_admin.cleanup_agent('HOSTNAME:AGENT_PORT');commit;
6. Remove agent software from the problematic host.
7. In /etc/hosts file on the OEM server, local host entry should be unique and formated as follows:
3.24.7.156 unxoradb014.corporate.ge.com unxoradb014
8. Reinstall agent on the host. -
After upgrading ACS 3.3.1 to 4.2 on windows the local database is not working
Hi,
I have upgaded the ACS 3.3.1 for windows server to 4.2. Everything went fine but the local database is not working.
The CD is an upgrade kit from 3.x to 4.2 on windows. I tried to install directly the 4.2 I was able to install but integration with AD/LDAp is not working. Anysay its an upgrade kit so I cant expect it shoud work when install drectly the 4.2 but by upgrading from 3.3 to 4.2 everything should work fine.
I followed the upgradation path as recomended.
Also we have a requirment that once it is upgraded to 4.2 we need to shift the whole thing from the physical server to a virtual machine on VMware ESX server 3.5.
Can anybody pls guide me if anything else to do after the upgradation.
Thanks & Regards
SachiHi Javier,
First of all I was facing a problem of restoring the old database of 3.3 to 4.2. Somehow I overcame that issue by following the below steps. Now local authentication is working fine but AD/other External database authentication is not working. As you told the setting for the unknown users are configured to fetch the credentials from the external database if it is not in the local database.
Do we need to do anything in the AD itself?
Regards
Sachi
Steps for ACS upgrade to 4.2 version
Below are the requested steps mentioned for the up gradation from ACS 3.3.2 to ACS 4.2.
1) Take a configuration backup from existing ACS. ACS--->System
configuration----> ACS Backup
2) now if you have ACS 3.3.2 on server. take backup of the ACS
3) Insert the cd or if you have the set up on the system then Run the setup of ACS 3.3.4. During the process it will prompt you to
upgrade existing configuration. Make sure you check that option else we will
loose the database. Now you need to hit next.next to finish the 3.3.4 upgrade.
4) Once you are at 3.3.4, take a backup and keep it handy.
5) Run the setup of 4.1.1. During this process it will prompt you to
upgrade existing configuration. Make sure you check that option else we will
loose the database. Now you need to hit next.next to finish the 4.1 upgrade.
6)Once you are at 4.1.1.24 take a backup and keep it handy.
7) Run the setup of 4.2. During this process it will prompt you to
upgrade existing configuration. Make sure you check that option else we will
loose the database. Now you need to hit next.next to finish the 4.2 upgrade.
8) Once you are at 4.2 take a backup and keep it handy. Now run the
patch 12 and take a backup again.
9) Now fresh install 4.2 on your new production server and install patch
12. Restore the 4.2 patch 12 backup and you should be all set. -
Error Message For BISystemUser: User not authenticated
We have migrated from DEV to PROD env.(11.1.1.1 -> 11.1.1.3). Along problems with bipublisher - there are some strange thingths: we successfully loging using weblogic account into AdminConsole и Enterprise Manager, but in Answers we get an error: invalid username or password.
nqserver.log:
...[ERROR:1] [] [] ... [tid: 1090] Error Message For BISystemUser: User not authenticated.
...[ERROR:1] [] [] ... [tid: 1090] [nQSError: 43126] Authentication failed: invalid user/password.
In oracle support we found such issue (Doc ID 1308389.1):
OBIEE 11g Error: "Unable to Sign in. invalid username or password was entered" After Changing Repository, Deleting BISystem User, Adding it Back (Doc ID 1308389.1)
Applies to: Business Intelligence Server Enterprise Edition - Version: 11.1.1.3.0 [1905] to 11.1.1.5.0 [1308] - Release: 11g to 11g
Symptoms: In OBIEE 11.1.1.3.0 using default authenticator, it is not possible to log in to OBIEE after changing repository. To troubleshoot, BIsystemuser was removed from global roles and added back again.
Getting error: Unable to Sign in. invalid username or password was entered
Changes: Changed repository, deleted BISystemuser, added the user back
Cause: Several changes e.g changing rpd, deleting bisystem user, adding the user back etc. occurred in the environment and caused log in to OBIEE to stop working
Solution: After a lot of troubleshooting e.g re-starting system in the correct order, refreshing GUIDs, re-start OBIEE with default SampleAppLite.rpd and web catalog, the error persists. The system was uninstalled and re-installed to avoid further corruption and configuration problems in the new installation. This resolved the problem
Does we have to 'reinstall or make a lot of troubleshooting e.g re-starting system ' to solve this error?
It seem to be funny for PROD environment. How we cam resolve this problem? Are you saying you upgraded both dev and prod from 11.1.1.1 to 11.1.1.3 or that you migrated a dev 11.1.1.1 to a prod 11.1.1.3? What did you migrate?
At a rough guess the BISystemUser password is different in dev and prod (created by system on install) and in your 'migration' you've moved the dev credential across to prod.
If that's the case you need to change the bisystemuser password to something known and update the credential store password.
Another possibility might just be that you need to regenerate the GUIDs:

IPhone not authenticated?
I just got this phone today. Everything works like texting and data, but I can't call anyone. It says my phone is not authenticated. I dialed *228 like a gazillion times and it said service updated, but it still reverts back to that message when I make a call. Please help!
I would not call it a bug. The app store app is probably using the Safari engine under the covers.
As with a Desktop computer, most apps do NOT use the proxy settings in the browser - these apps make their own TCP connections, so unless they have their own settings for a proxy, they fail too. Many IM applications have their own tab for proxy settings because they don't work through the browser.
All you can do is try contacting the developer of each app and ask them to add proxy support, but they will probably tell you to use 3G/Edge instead.
Most people just don't need proxy support as most companies that implement proxies do so to manage where and what content is accessed. So rather then use my companies internal proxie and have sites and content blocked, I just use my 3G connection. -
"peer not authenticated" - Connecting to ORDS with SQL Developer
Background
Configuring ORDS (2.0.7) to my database, with APEX_LISTENER and APEX_REST_PUBLIC_USER created via APEX 4.2.2 script.
Listener is running as expected - and APEX works as expected.
ORDS credential setup (as made evident by the credentials file with the user name inside)
Addition of the line to the ords/default.xml: <entry key="security.verifySSL">false</entry>
To allow connection without using SSL.
Current Status
I am able to connect using SQL Developer "Restful Data Services" feature using the "HTTP" connection and the credentials that have been setup successfully.
Problem
Attempting to configure a SQL Developer (4.0.2.15) connection using the same account, but HTTPS with 443 - the connection results in the error message:
Authentication Failure
Cannot connect to S42
peer not authenticated
Additional
I am using an installation of Tomcat and a version of Glassfish to test this feature. I have received the same error on both test cases.
I have also tested by removing the <entry key="security.verifySSL">false</entry>
Is there a specific type of HTTPS certificate that is required to connect using HTTPS?
Did I miss a different setting?
Regards,
Tim St.Got this working, needed a change to the config file on weblogic server by our DBA.

Peer not authenticated error CFHTTP
Hi
I'm trying to call a web page using cfhttp. The url works fine and returns XML when called directly from the browser (any browser) but fails with the following error message when called from a .cfm file using cfhttp:
struct
Charset
[empty string]
ErrorDetail
I/O Exception: peer not authenticated
Filecontent
Connection Failure
Header
[empty string]
Mimetype
Unable to determine MIME type of file.
Responseheader
struct [empty]
Statuscode
Connection Failure. Status code unavailable.
Text
YES
Symptoms:
It's a secured url (https) so I've attempted using the port 443 (which I verified with the vendor) and a plethora of other combinations of parameters.
I was reviewing past errors like this via Google searches on different CF forums where they stated that the solution was either a bug fix from Adobe or that you needed to download the security certificate onto your own server, but all of those references were to CF9, and I'm running CF10. I've been able to use CFHTTP on other SSL protected sites and the response comes back just fine, just this particular URL. Why would this URL fail with this message and not others? And why would the url display without error from a call from a browser but not CF10?
I was also able to make the call to the page successfully using the command line tool curl.
What do I need to do with ColdFusion10 to get my CFHTTP requests to work?
Thanks in advance,
RichIf the certificates from the certificate chain are not listed as trusted in the Java key store, then the request will fail. This is the way the JVM works (which is where CF is running). If you are using a self-signed certificate or a certificate from a certificate authority that is not trusted by the JVM, then it will fail, every time.
There was also a bug in CF9 Enterprise which would sometimes result in a certificate not being accepted, but I believe that has been fixed in CF10. It was acutally a problem with a 3rd party crypto library that was included in CF enterprise.
So, chances are that you are goign to need to imort one or more certificates into the JVM keystore. You said you've already found sintructions on how to do that, so I won't rehash. If it is a self-signed cert, you will need to import that. If it is a cert with a CA parent, then you should just be able to install the CA root cert.
Hope this helps.

The command completed successfullyI had a problem of accessing Oracle 10g database homepage. After a couple of days of research and discussions with coworker we found a solution.
Here is the solution:
1. Find out your default browser.
2. Configure your default web browser to connect to the Oracle Database XE Database Home Page as stated
here:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25329_01/doc/install.102/b25143/toc.htm#CIHHJEHF
If this does not help de-install Oracle XE and reinstall following the instruction. During re-installation find out your default browser and configure it as instructed.
I suspect when the default web browser changes the Oracle 10g XE Database Home Page stops working.
Good luck -

The SQL is
CREATE SHARED DATABASE LINK "yourlink"

You can also use SQL Developer to adjust this.
This does depend on shared database connections between your db's.
