SSO problem between EP 6 SP9  on Web AS 6.4 JAVA  and  WebAS 6.3 JAVA.

We have Portal EP 6 SP9 running on Windows 2003 and IIS version 6.
Also implemmnted NTLM to get to the Portal from desktop.
Every thing works fine.
I have also setup SSO between Portal EP 6 SP9 and SAP R/3 4.7, SAP BW 3.3. Every thing works just fine.
We also have product called xEM which runs on webAs 6.30.
SSO is not working between EP 6 SP9 which runs on WebAS 640 Java & xEM which runs on WebAS 6.30 JAVA.
I tried options and changed logon module stack fo ticket and it did not help.
I imported certificate from Portal to webAS 6.3 where xEM is running. Used option load from ticketstore in the admin tool.
Previous to this we have SSO setup between EP 6 SP2 running on WebAS 6.2 JAVA & xEM running on WebAS 6.3 and it just worked fine.
Only change is the new Portal EP 6 SP9 running on WebAS 64.0 JAVA only.
Please help me.

Hmm interesting problem. Have you tried increasing the logging level on the 6.30 WebAS server so you can get more detailed info on what the issue might be?
If so, can you post some of it?

  • Please enable REST support in WEB-INF/conf/axis2.xml and WEB-INF/web.xml

    Hi  All,
    we are not able to connect to Live office to our server . URL is  not authenticated in Excel and  if we place same url in browser ,we are getting below error message.
    "Please enable REST support in WEB-INF/conf/axis2.xml and WEB-INF/web.xml"
    we couldn't able to rest the same after changing settings in axis2 file also.
    Any solution where we can configure in CMC or any files
    Regards
    Mahesh

    Hi Mahesh,
    As mentioned by Abhilasha, this is the expected behavior.
    In order to validate you could place the following URL in the browser.
    http://servername:portno/dswsbobje. you would see Tomcats home page which will display the list of Services.
    As far as the Live office in Excel is concerned , If you are getting a yellow  exclamation mark stating (Web service not correct) next to Session URL, try changing the servername to IPaddress of the server.
    Eg: http://ipaddress:portno/dswsbobje/services/Session
    While inserting the Session URL in the Live Office settings confirm the URL as per above.
    If the issue still persists, you could configure the host file entry in you client machine.
    Let me know if the information is helpful.

  • The Oracle Database Programming using Java and Web services book is out

    This book http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1555583296 shows how to build pragmatic applications using the combination of PL/SQL, Java in the database, JDBC, SQLJ, JPublisher, and Web services. It is intented for database developers, DBA, data architects, Java developers and Web services assemblers.
    My blog http://db360.blogspot.com/ and the free/sample chapter http://www.oracle.com/technology/books/pdfs/mensah_ch1.pdf will give you a feel of the content.
    Enjoy, Kuassi

    Hi Kuassi,
    Thanks for letting us know that your book is available. I have been following one of your articles about "Virtualize Your Oracle Database with Web Services". More specifically "The Database as Web Services Consumer". I think that this is an area that has in the past been under estimated as to the potential benefits.
    I am currently trying to develop a solution that consumes several interfaces with a couple of them being published web services, so an ideal solution. I have then spent the last three weeks having to read up about the architecture of Java in the database, Jpublisher and make sense of how it all works together.
    I have got very close to getting one of the web services to work but failed due to using 10gR2 where all the java & libraries has moved to version 1.5. The solution is to load the jdk1.4.2 and configure jpublisher to use this. So far so good except this is not available on some platforms, Windows - 64 bit (not itanium).
    The configuration is proving very challenging but will hopefully reap rewards.
    (Thought I would give you some background to my experience).
    Anyway my question to you is having looked at Jdeveloper it appears to do almost anything except consume services into the database, also with Java now being at version 1.5 outside the database for 10gR2 and supporting 1.4 inside, do you see some alignment of these in future database releases?
    Finally off to buy your book now as no doubt there is a huge amount more to learn.
    Kind Regards

  • Difference Between BEx Web and Web Intelligence

    Hi,
    Could someone help me understand why someone would want to choose SAP BW BEx Web over Web Intelligence (apart from license issues)?
    Web Inteligence is a very strong tool from a UI point of view and has can do most of the functions that SAP BW BEx Web can. WebI allows users to actually create your own reports.
    A couple of drawbacks with WebI
    -  I can see is that Web Intelligence does not handle SAP BW hiearchies very well (i.e. they are not shown in a hierachical manner).
    - WebI holds the data within the report which can mean long run times. BEx Web only brings back data for fields that are shown in the report
    I have heard people saying that BEx Web is an OLAP tool and WebI is not. How does this make a difference?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    take a look here:
    http://www.sdn.sap.com//irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/d00ae0a1-8086-2d10-118c-f35b8e604bc4
    BEx is an OLAP Tool and Web Intelligence for sure not - means that Web Intelligence is not designed for multi-dimensional concepts.

  • Publish RD Gateway and Web Access with One-Time Password (OTP) / Two-factor Authentication WITHOUT ISA/TMG server

    Hi everybody,
    I've been struggeling with this problem for a few weeks now and can't find a way to solve it.
    We have an RD farm (Server 2012) which consists of two Remote Desktop Servers with Connection Broker and Web Access.
    I've recently published a new server, containing RD Gateway and Web Access in our perimeter network.
    Now we've got restrictions that OTP/2FA must be used for the external deployment and we've decided to go for a solution from Gemalto.
    The "program" is called IDConfim and the server is called SA Server (Strong Authentication).
    Also it's important that NO ISA/TMG server is supposed to be used, the OTP/2FA is supposed to work seamless with the Web Access/Gateway.
    After hours discuss we came to a point were their NPS agent setup would be the only way to accomplish our goals.
    The setup is supposed to be like this:
    LAN:
    1 DC (2008 R2)
    RD Farm (2012)
    1 SA Server (2012)
    DMZ:
    RD Gateway/Web Access (2012)
    Were Gateway and Web Access should forward the authentications with NPS to the NPS agent on the SA server.
    When you print your AD account to authenticate you add the 6 digits of OTP which you recieve from you mobile app.
    Initially this seems to work, the Gateway forwards the request to the remote NPS server, BUT only if you write the correct AD password
    (without the OTP extension).
    If you write the correct AD password the authentication is forwarded to out SA Servern and it's beeing rejeced because the password doesn't
    contain the correct OTP extension.
    The problem comes here.
    When you write you AD password along with the OTP extension you get a Windows Security error in the eventlog (On thw Gateway server) like this:
    An account failed to log on.
    Subject:
    Security ID: NULL SID
    Account Name: -
    Account Domain: -
    Logon ID: 0x0
    Logon Type: 3
    Account For Which Logon Failed:
    Security ID: NULL SID
    Account Name: user
    Account Domain: domain
    Failure Information:
    Failure Reason: Unknown username or password.
    Status: 0xc000006d
    Sub Status: 0x0
    Process Information:
    Caller Process ID: 0x0
    Caller Process Name: -
    Network Information:
    Workstation Name: server
    Source Network Address: 192.168.x.x
    Source Port: 63003
    Detailed Authentication Information:
    Logon Process: NtLmSsp
    Authentication Package: NTLM
    Transited Services: -
    Package Name (NTLM only): -
    Key Length: 0
    This event is generated when a logon request fails. It is generated on the computer where access was attempted.
    The Subject fields indicate the account on the local system which requested the logon. This is most commonly a service such as the Server service, or a local process such as Winlogon.exe or Services.exe.
    The Logon Type field indicates the kind of logon that was requested. The most common types are 2 (interactive) and 3 (network).
    The Process Information fields indicate which account and process on the system requested the logon.
    The Network Information fields indicate where a remote logon request originated. Workstation name is not always available and may be left blank in some cases.
    The authentication information fields provide detailed information about this specific logon request.
    - Transited services indicate which intermediate services have participated in this logon request.
    - Package name indicates which sub-protocol was used among the NTLM protocols.
    - Key length indicates the length of the generated session key. This will be 0 if no session key was requested.
    What i can see it's a NTLM error, but hey?! aren't we supposed to forward all authentication handeling to the remote NPS server?
    The problem is that no matter what i try the above problem stays there.
    Is it not possible to just forward ALL authentication handeling to a remote server?
    The only solution I've found to get it working someday in the future is this:
    "Remote Desktop Pluggable Authentication and Authorization", which is supposed to be introduced in 2012 R2.
    Also this link describes it:
    http://archive.msdn.microsoft.com/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ProjectName=rdsdev&ReleaseId=3745
    Please, bring me some answers before my head explodes! :)
    PS, long question = maybe some errors, ask me if something is unclear.

    Hi,
    Based on our experience, if the NTLM error occurs, please check the password.

  • Communication between java and c++, help!

    i am c++ programmer and newly to java.
    now i am developping a client/server app. i use java transfers data (socket) between client and server, and use c++ to create user interfaces because c++ is easier for interfaces.
    my question is:
    in a single PC, java needs to tell c++ what info was read from socket and c++ needs to tell java what info will be written to socket.
    i want to use 2 files (read and write) as media between java and c++. that is: java writes data to a file and c++ reads from the file, and vice versa.
    i know it's not efficient. could you tell me better way to do?
    thanks in advance.

    thanks for reply.
    my problem is: socket is fare in java, not fare in c++
    (win/nt). could u use server in a non nt-server
    machine with c++?I'm not sure what you mean "fair". NT-Server is just a version of NT that Microsoft adds their server products to. Most of which you don't want to use because they are a security nightmare. I think what your asking is can you do the equivalent of Java's ServerSocket in C++. Sure, the socket libraries in Windows (at least last time I checked) were based off the BSD socket libraries. So you would basically do something like:
    // Open socket
    ss=socket(AF_INET, SOCK_STREAM, 0);
    if(ss==-1)
      cerr<<"Error opening socket."<<endl;
      return 0;
    // Fill in address
    struct sockaddr_in server;
    server.sin_family=AF_INET;
    server.sin_port=htons((unsigned short)port);
    server.sin_addr.s_addr=INADDR_ANY;
    // Bind to port
    if(bind(ss, (struct sockaddr *)&server, sizeof(server))==-1)
      cerr<<"Could not bind to port "<<port<<"."<<endl;
      return 0;
    // Ready to accept connections
    if(listen(ss, 5)==-1)
      cerr<<"Could not listen."<<endl;
      return 0;
    // Loop to accept connections
    while(/* some condition */)
      // Accept a connection
      int s=accept(ss, 0, 0);
    }This should work on any version of windows as long as you have winsock. The example code might need to be changed a little though since I copied it from a Linux program I had.

  • SSO between custom C++ application and web browser

    Hello.
    I have a bit of problems figuring out how to do SSO functionality between a Browser and a custom client (custom protocol over HTTP).
    I want it to work as follows: If the user logs in in the HTTP client, the user is already logged in in the custom client, and vice versa.
    I thought this could be implemented my reading and writing cookie values from the browser in my custom client, but it seems like the cookies set are all without expiration. IE handles these cookies private in a process, and so I can't get a hold of it.
    How do I implement SSO between clients if I can't base it on cookie values?
    Regards
    Kyrre.

    Any comment?

  • SSO problem on Windows Mobile with WAS Java 7.0 and R/3 4.7

    We have a curious single sign-on problem with custom WM-app.
    The application is developed using WD Java and currently runs on WAS 7.0 SPS10. WAS makes calls to several RFC:s on 4.7 Enterprise and authentication is done using SSO.
    The enduser device is a handheld running Windows Mobile and the browser is a vendor (HHP) provided Mobile IE based HandHeldWeb. Because of the poor usability of the default login on handhelds we created a custom J2EE Web Application JSP which does the login to the WM-app.
    On a PC browser everything functions normally, but occasionally with the mobile device no data from R/3 is displayed. As if SSO didn't work. Sometimes, if transaction 1 doesn't work and the user comes out of it, then runs transaction 2 which makes an RFC call and then returns to transaction 1 it works. Sometimes..
    This problem does not occur on mobile device when the default login is used. And as stated previously, on a PC the custom login works fine.

    Hi,
    Currently SAP is selling the Software in Business Suite .
    If you are purchasing the SRM 7.0 .It will come as Business suite . It will contain
    1. SRM 7.0
    2.CRM
    3.PLM
    4.SCM
    5. ECC 6.0 wiht Eph 4
    When you are getting the ECC 6.0 in this package why to use  SAP R/3- 4.6C
    So better you upgrade both the SRM and R/3.
    I would like to know if SRM 7.0 and R/3 4.6C is compatible in first place.Will it work?
    It will work but in the long run you will get lot  of Problem.Since SRM 7.0 is Based on Webdynpro technology

    Hi Pradeep:
    Well that purely depends on the business application (project) your client is proposing. Following are very few factors which will drive for creating web-based applications:
    VC: it's a UI modeling tool (non-programming) for creating rapid creation of web-based applications.
    WD: its a powered by Java and ABAP with which you can create robust business applications.
    If your client is very choosy about rapid application development, reporting, rich user interface, to reduce TCO then VC is the choice. Or if the project contains typical integration with SAP and non-SAP systems, complex business logic development, integration with WCM systems...etc then WDJ is the option.
    If you’ve some sort of custom development with facilitating the Development Infrastructure (NWDI) then WDJ is the only option I could say.
    We hope with NW CE 7.1.1(referred by Priyanka Singh) tighter integration between these TWO tools may over come the ambiguity of using them.
    Tnx,
    MS
