Ssrs report export to excel along with parameter filters

HI,
In ssrs reports export to excel along with parameter filters,is it possible or not?
Could you please help me..
indu

Hi Sriindu,
According to your description, you want to export the report into an excel file with the report parameter and filters. And you want to filter data in excel. Right?
In Reporting Services, the components for exporting report into a file called Reporting Services Rendering Extension. There are three types of Reporting Services rendering extensions: Data Render Extension,
Soft page-break renderer extensions, Hard page-break rendering extensions. All these three extension are only for rendering data. It can't keep the filters and parameter in the report. Also excel can't support Reporting Services filter in
an excel file. So your requirement can't be achieved.

  • SSRS report export to excel

    Hi All,
    I have one developed SSRS report which is a matrix report (having customer name in column area and customer code in row area);
and it is working ok no issue here.
Now I want to do something like :
Is it possible while exporting to excel, I can interchange rows data to columns data and columns data to rows data ? (so that customer name comes in row area; and customer code comes in column area)
Hope question is straight forward and clear.
    Regards

    Hi ,
I have tried to do dynamic grouping based on the Format of rendering, however in dynamic grouping not allowed to use the Global Built-In Fields, Variables, ReportItems collections.
Finally only way left for us to use our classical trick to set the visibility on and off.
This trick can be applied by creating two different Matrix and show one matrix depending on Format rendering.
My trick is to create two groups within the matrix and hide and show one group based on format rendering.
I have created detailed level of post in below link.

  • Issue with SSRS Report Exporting to Excel and word

    Hi,
When report is exporting in word and Excel getting format issue, but same report export with pdf there is  no issue.
    Regards,
    Afroz

You need to be always careful when export format is Word and specially Excel. Sometimes report result looks good in Report Viewer and PDF too, but it may not in MS Word and MS Excel.
You need to understand Word and Excel limitations and align all the data regions (Tablix, Rectangles, Texboxes) in correct way.
Also, you may post the actual formatting issue that you get. (With screenshot if possible)
Please read Limitation section in below:

  • SSRS Report Export to Excel Taking Too Long

    Hello,
I don't know what other information to provide but I have a sub report which is a parameter driven and when I run it in the web page, it runs in timely manner but when I export it to MS Excel, it takes over 10 min to export. There are two sheets in that
report and second sheet which is a detail report consists of > 200,000 rows of data.
In addition, the first sheet has a Summary report and I noticed that the whole summary information repeated 12 times in the same page. It is almost like while the second sheet was being generated, the first sheet repeated for 12 times.
What do you suggest? I appreciate your time very much. Thank you.
    Sanjeev
    Sanjeev Jha

    Hi SQLTurtleReally,
According to your description, there are over 200,000 rows in the report, when you run it in report manager, the report works fine. When you export report to excel, it takes over 10 minutes.
Report rendering occurs after data and layout are combined into an interim format and then passed to a rendering extension. Rendering time can be affected by the amount of data, the number of instances of report items, and paging. As for excel, which was
processed by a powerful and complicate engine, which provide brilliant appearance and rich features, as a result, it would cost longer time to export so large quantity of data. We can use following steps to help improve rendering performance for a report:
Do not merge cells in a Tablix data region.
Consider using page breaks in the report.
Select a format that produces a smaller file. Since CVS file is just a flat text file, it has a fast write speed, we can export the report to csv format and then open it with excel.
For more information about Report Performance, please refer to the following document:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb522806(v=sql.105).aspx

  • SSRS Report Exporting to Excel

    Hi,
I have a report which has Two pie charts on the first page and two table on the second page.
when I try to export the report to excel from report builder  it just exports the first page and nothing else.
when i try to download it ot other formats liek word, pdf .. they work fine showing all the pages.
Please help me with figuring out what if I am doing something wrong.
    Thanks,
    Chaitanya

    Hi ChaiTanya,
According to your description, you have a report contains two pie charts in first page, and two tables in second page. When you export this report, you find it only shows you the first page in the sheet. But it can successfully export into word file.
In Reporting Services, when exporting report to excel, if we don’t add page breaks to rectangle, data regions, or groups within data regions for a report, then all the report contents will be exported into one worksheet. If we add page break for the report
manually, then the report will be exported into multiple worksheets. In this scenario, your charts and tables are in two different pages. You may have set a page break between them. That makes your charts and tables always separated(in different pages or sheets..).
So in your exported Excel file, those tables will not disappear. They are shown in Sheet2.
We have tested this situation in our local environment. Here are some screenshots for your reference:
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • Access report export to excel shows =sum() text boxes prefixed with the textbox name

When exporting reports from access to excel the =sum() (group and total sums) text boxes all have the text box name prefixed to them in excel. They look good in access reports. Any way to turn this off? Why is this happening?
I've seen the same issue on 2 computers running Access 2010. I also tried this in access 2013 and had the same issue.
See the images below as examples, the first is from access, the second is the report exported to excel.
    Access 2010 (http://i.stack.imgur.com/4roFM.png)
Exported report viewed in Excel 2010 (http://i.stack.imgur.com/6B1zj.png)

I've seen the same issue on 2 computers running Access 2010. I also tried this in access 2013 and had the same issue.
    Hi Scott,
Did you use the same database file? May I know how did you create the report and those TextBoxes?
I couldn't reproduce your problem, this is what I did:
Create a sample table and the corresponding report. Group it by one of the field, then give it a footer section. In the footer section I inserted a TextBox and set the ControlSource property to "=Sum([fieldname])". But the name of the TextBox didn't
show in the exported Excel file. Check the screenshots here:

  • Access Report exporting to Excel Horizontally

I've got a rather large report in Access, based on a couple of forms.
When i preview it looks fine, Textboxes are all in order with the make and model then the data in text boxes in a column below.
There are 7 columns of text boxes like this.
When I export to a PDF, it's in the right format, 7 columns next to each other.
When I export to Word and even a text file it works fine.
When I export to Excel, they all go horizontal...textbox name in row 1 and all the data in row 2, clear to column IV and that's it.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thank you for any help.
    Gee

    Hi Gee,
According to the desription, when the report exported to Excel, the layout is incorrect.
Based on my test, the Access doesn't export the textbox into Excel, it just export the data in the report. Here are the test steps for your reference:
    1. Create a table with some fields in Access 2013
    2. Create a reprot based on the table by default
    3. Export the report to Excel by External data->Export->Excel
Did I misunderstood? Also a demo database to help us reproduce this issue is much appreciate.

  • Template having export to excel functionality with filter values in WAD

    Hi,
I need to create a template which has export to excel functionality with all the filter values that the user has selected in the selection screen.
export to excel can be done but how can be the output excel sheet contain only those values which we see in browser  when the report is executed with some filters.
    Regards,
    Apeksha

    Hi Apeksha,
you can achieve this requirement (unless I do not know the detailled requirement) perhaps by using this way of implementation:
    1. Create a new template which contains an info_field which does a data binding to the variable values or the characteristic you want to display. Set the visibility of the top container to "hidden". Add a empty data provider to this template. However be aware that the name for the (empty) data provider must match the name of the data provider within the original template you want to print.
    2. Open your original template and include the template you created in step 1 (Advanced: Web Templates and technical name of the web template created in step 2). Choose the appropriate location (above/below the analysis item).
    3. Check the settings of your export command: do not set a special web item to be printed.
If you export the template within web the second template should be printed correctly displaying the variable settings chosen in step 2 for the info_field.
    Brgds,
    Marcel

  • Web report Export to Excel Issue

    Hi,
I've tried to look at one of the issues already logged about the Export to Excel functionality and I was not able to find a solution to my problem.
In my organization we are using BW 3.5. And when I run a web report, and try to export to excel a 15000 line report, I'm always getting only the first 400 or 500 rows. If I go to the last line and try to do the same, I will then get the full report exported to excel.
Any idea why this is happening?
    Thanks,
    JS

Try to run the report using the 0ANALYZER template and see whether you can replicate the issue.  If the behavior is same with 0ANALYZER then it will be a issue with SAP code.

  • Hyperion Workspace Financial Reporting Export to Excel Query-Ready Missing

Hyperion Workspace Financial Reporting Export to Excel "Query-Ready" option is Missing in the dropdown when you go to File>Export>Excel
Only the "Fully Formatted" option is available.
From what I recall this option for a "query-ready" export should be available from the HTML preview?
Is there something in configuration that needs to be enabled or something that needs to be checked on to get this option?
    We are running 11.1.1.3
The Query-Ready option is available when exporting forms in Planning.
When opening Financial Reports in Smartview the option for "Query-Ready" is available.
For some reason this is not showing up in workspace, does it not exist in 11.1.1.3? Is this a bug?
    TIA

    Hi,
The option to export the financial report output in "Query-Ready" format is actually at the bottom right hand corner of the report page (look at the report footer) instead of File>Export>Excel.
    Hope this helps

  • Exporting P6 Project along with Baselines

I tried to export one project in the .xer format. This project also has a few baselines. But after importing the exported file, to a stand alone P6, I found that the baselines were not imported. Now I am left out with only one option to restore the baselines to projects one by one and then export it and then import it and set as a baseline. Is there any way to export the project along with the baselines at a single go.

It was supposed to be included with P6 originally, then P7 and has still not happened yet.
