Stacked canvas and bean area

Hi
i have a bean area which display graph placed on a stacked canvas. i have set the stacked canvas to show the horizontal scrollbar. i want to allow user to scroll through the stacked canvas when the graph increase in width.
in my program, the bean area width would be dynamically change - increase the width depending on the number of data using
set_item_property('NAV.BA',WIDTH,690).
but the bean area does not seem to increase in width even when i set the property. why is it so?

Hi,
did you try to change the size of the bean display that runs in the BeanArea. The bean area should adjust to the size of the bean displayed. I didn't find a bug filed on the issue of not being able to set the width and height of a JavaBean container. But I could find one for Forms 6.0.5 that was fixed in 6i about not resizing the bean container according to the resize of the embedded bean area.

My Canvas and Timeline are gone and I can't get them back

Hey everyone.
I've been using a new HD camera and i have had to change a billion settings on FCP. Now that I am no longer using HD it was time to go back to the way they were, but I must have done something wrong. My canvas and timeline are gone and I can't get them back. I tried going to window and just pulling them up but I can't click on the canvas and timeline buttons...
Please help!!! I am fairly new at final cut pro and I need help. I have a film festival deadline approaching and only hope that some kind person out there can help!!

Trash your FCP preferences. This will reset FCP to it's defaults.
Close Final Cut Pro and open a Finder window.
Click on your user name in the side bar.
Open the following sub folders Library, Preferences, Final Cut Pro User Data.
Place the following files in the Trash:
Final Cut Pro 6.0 Prefs, Final Cut Pro Obj Cache, Final Cut Pro Prof Cache.
Empty the Trash.
Open Final Cut Pro. You will be asked to choose your working format (Easy Setup) and designate your scatch disks.

Stacked Canvas and No. of records display on the block?

Any coding to re-size the "Stacked" canvas and no.of records displays on the block?

u can set the view port and Width and height of the Stack canvas at runtime but not No of Records display....
set_view_property .....VIEW_SIZE or Width / Height
for canvas size use SET_CANVAS_PROPERTY

Developer 6i,Item type "User Area" and "Bean Area"

kindly I want to know how to use item type "user area" and "Bean Area",i never used them and i didnt find good help about them,and i appreciate any help with examples.

I have forgotten what is the user area because it has disapear with the 9i version.
The bean area allows you to put some java bean component inside your Forms module.

Stacked Canvas and Raise FORM_TRIGGER_FAILURE

My form consists of a content canvas and a scrollable Stacked canvas. If FORM_TRIGGER_FAILURE is raised from one of the items on the content canvas the stacked canvas gets hidden, as you would expect i.e. FORM_TRIGGER_FAILURE returns the focus back to the item and because this item is on the Content canvas, the stacked canvas get hidden.
I need to be able to handle this i.e. when FORM_TRIGGER_FAILURE is raised for the items on the content canvas, I need to be able to issue a SHOW_VIEW for my stacked canvas. However, I cant work out how to do it. I've tried placing various triggers on the content canvas items, in the hope they'd fire when FORM_TRIGGER_FAILURE returns focus to the item but without success. Any ideas ?

New stacked canvas and action items

I have a form with tree module components into the same window: one new content canvas and two new stacked canvas.
The window has an action item. When I execute this form the action item is'nt visible because is placed under the stacked canvas. Is possible display the action item at the bottom of the window?

PJC and Bean Area

Is it possible to use a bean area or a pjc in forms client server mode, I mean not via a browser?

You can pull the 9i demos off OTN, this installs a whole bunch of PJCs for you.
Some advice:
Jar up your class - use the deployment options within JDev to do this. Then you can put the JAR file anywhere you want, but the location must be accessible as a virtual directory and you jhave to update the archive and archive_jini lines in your configs to point to the jar in the virtual directory where you've placed it.
I generally throw the jar into forms90/java directory along with the f90all.jar, although you'll see with the demos wwe put them into a forms90/demos/jars directory which has a virtual address pointing to it in the OC4J Config.

Content canvas and a stacked canvas moving when scroll through the details

Dear Friends
I have Mater and Details Block , and I have two canvas content canvas and a stacked canvas, and the a stacked canvas on top of content canvas , and I have set the horizontal and vertical scroll bar for the stacked canvas , my problem is that when I inquire and click on the details block which is on stacked canvas the header content canvas is moved up
and what I want the header to be stable and not moving when scroll through the details .

if the canvas is moved during runtime in general the problem is that is does not fit completly in the window. Try to adjust your window-size so that the whole layout fits into it.

Stacked canvas

I have a screen where part of the block is in a 'fixed' content canvas and part is in a stacked canvas which is scrollable. Initially, both canvases are displayed and I can scroll backwards and forwards in the stacked canvas. However, when I select one of the fields that is outside the stacked canvas the stacked canvas disappears. Is there anyway of pinning the stacked canvas so that it is visible all the time.

What i understand when your naviagation is on contact canvas item then stack canvas disappear.
it is so simple just click on the border of stack canvas and drag the stack canvas away from the items of contant canvas. it may possible your stack canvas is over the any item of contant canvas

Stacked canvas behaviour 6i c/s

My form has two canvases.
1. content in own window
2. stacked content in own window( which is only 5 cm by 5cm wide and does not cover content when called.
COntent canvas and window are maximised in when-new-form-ins trig.
The problem i am getting is when I call stacked can in its own window from content can via button my content canv
resizes itself enough so that scroll bars appear.
So that when i exit stacked can i have to maximise the content to such a state as when I first run the form.( all coded in when-new-form-ins) i.e dbl click on win title bar.
Does anyone know if this is default functionality or is there something I need to set ?

sorry for not making it very clear...
So you want to Press a button, go to a stacked canvas, pause and accept input on that canvas, then proceed to do some calculations, and all of this on >one button?what you understood up to the bold marked area is correct. after getting the input in stacked canvas the user press a back button there to hide and come out. The calculations are on the content canvas button itself...( which is used to display the stacked canvas)

i am developed a one form ,i.e placed the stacked canvas view on the content convas.
i create a two data block's with same table.
one data block for content canvas and one for stacked canvas.
in the content canvas i taken two fileds with scroll bar and remaining fields placed on the stacked canvas.
these stacked canvas view put on the content canvas.it dispalying and
executed succesfully.
here i am getting one problem i am displying the 10 records at a time in both canvases.my requirment is placed on the
cursor on the content canvas particular record scroll down then automatically show the same record details in stacked canvas and
content canvas scroll bar is changed automatically stacked canvas scroll bar is changed.

This is not necessary. Just create one data block and then assign the block items to your Content and Stacked canvases. You can display items in a data block on different canvases. By doing this, there is no need to write code to synchronize the records because they are part of the same data block so they will automatically scroll as you navigate through your records.

Stacked Canvas question in Forms [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.3.0 (Production)

Hi Friends, I am not sure if my explanation will suffice for resolution to this easy problem that is causing me so much grief.
I have a form with one content canvas ROOT_CNV, One tab canvas TAB_CNV with two tab pages and One STACK Canvas Stack_CNV.
All these canvases are on one Window ROOT_WINDOW.
The tab canvas (TAB_CNV) is tabular in nature.
There is a menu button that you can press that switches one record in the tab canvas and place this record in the stack_cnv. All the fields on the stack_cnv are mirror_image of the Tab canvas record that is the items are synchronised.
NOW THE PROBLEM. When you press the switch button and you are in the stack canvas and you try to query any record, the form will take you back to the tab canvas and the fields will freezes, there are lots of forms here with this functionality that woks, but I cannot figure out while this particular one is behaving lke this.
I have made the Stack canvas smaller, however, the issue is till the same, I think it has to do with the stacking order and I had already rearrange this to know avail, any suggestion will be appreciated.

The tab pages still shows up on the stack canvas which is okay, however, when you try to query from the stack canvas, it takes you back to the tab canvas and everything freezes. Both canvas are on Root_cnv content canvas.

Tab canvas disappear when the main stacked canvas reach the end of column

Hi all,
I have 3 canvas ( 1 main canvas, 1 stacked canvas ) and this link to 1 tab canvas. All these are in the same window.
Whenever using the keyboard to press enter navigate from column to column and when it reach the end of the main canvas which is about to jump to the stack canvas, the two canvas ( stacked & tab ) was hide by itself. Even I have stated earlier to show all canvas in the pre-block trigger. when I keep on press the enter to jump to the next stacked canvas, this stacked canvas is being shown again. My tab canvas was not appear if I am press the enter key. However, if I press the arrow key down the tab canvas is appear. This I wasn't do any code to call the tab canvas.
When I keep on press enter and reach the end of the stacked canvas again the tab canvas is disappear, unless I have press the arrow key down to display the tab canvas.
Trying to use show_view( tab canvas ) in many trigger but still does not show the effect.
Anyone has this experience before ?

Stacked canvas appearing over content canvas by default

Hi Guys,
I have a Main content canvas and a stacked canvas. Both are having common single window attached to them window type is Document.
When I launch this form then main content canvas is displayed but with stacked canvas on top of it.
Control is in main content canvas but stacked canvas is over main content canvas.
This stacked canvas should appear after some action like list change or button push which are on main content canvas.
I have checked there is no go_item call for any objects on this stacked canvas.
I have tried with commenting the code which shows canvas (show_view), still the stacked canvas appears on top of content canvas.
Can anyone guide me on this?

change the visible property of stack canvas to no and
when u want to display that canvas,,
use GO_ITEM(to send to any item in stack canvas)...
and to hide use HIDE_VIEW('your canvas name');
and be sure when u running the form, your cursor wont go to stack canvas items... because when the cursor goes there, the canvas will appear..

Stacked canvas as a tab element

I am working on a form say 'A'. In this form, I have a tabbed canvas 'B' with 4 tabs.
I created another stacked canvas 'C' on which there are elements from 3 different blocks. Now I need to make this stacked canvas as an element of tab2 in canvas 'B'. I.e., if the user clicks on the tab2 of canvasB, it should show the stacked canvas C below the tab.
How can I do this?

It is not possible to define stacked canvas for a tab canvas.
To avoid such circumstances,
in pre-form, you write
HIDE_VIEW('STACKED_CANVAS');
SHOW_VIEW('TAB_CANVAS');
If tab canvas is not showing up, set the fol. property
raise on entry : yes
viewport x and y position to 0
and try runing ,
if the tab canvas is showing up, gradually return to the required position
else check for any hide_view(tab_canvas) code in your form.
or you can reduce the height of content canvas to view tab canvas. Check the window name of content and tab canvas is same.
And in when tab page changed, you write for each tab page name

Why that go-item is required?
Suppose your cursor is in an item in the stacked canvas, and if you click on page 1, The stack canvas wont disappear.
