Stacked Canvas Problem in oracle 6i form builder

Hello,
i have 2 content canvas "DTL and PUNCH",1 tab,1 horizontal canvas in window1 and 1 another content canvas "parameter" in window2.
i have created a stacked canvas under dtl canvas because
I have a master-details form. my details has more columns so im planing to use stack canvas.
but at run time it is not displaying?
please help me regarding that?

hello,
then you should set viewport x and y position of stack canvas below the height of button in DTL block.
means If button y position = 170 then
viewport position of x = 5,
viewport position of Y = (y position of button + height of button+5) . (for Stack canvas)
Same way,
If stack canvas height = 270 then
viewport position of x = 5,
viewport position of Y = (viewport position of Y of stack canvas + height of stack canvas+5) . (for Tab canvas)

Menu in Oracle 10g form Builder

I Build so many forms in ORACLE 10g form builder.
Now I want to create a Menu form then i want to run it in Internet Explorer at my own PC at which i have build these forms.
I also want to run seprate forms in internet explorer; as I can run form in Form builder but can't run then in Internet Explorer manually.
Please help me to solve this problem

Windows can check online for a solution to the problem.

Open form builder.
Make connection with database.
Now open the form.
Hope this works..

Problem moving Oracle 9i forms to production.

Hello,
We are having problems while moving oracle 9i forms to production on our 9ias server if anybody is using the same form. Is this because 9ias might be caching it.
How is the normal application deployment done in oracle 9ias ?
Our exact problem is, if the form is already in production and if a user has opened it and another programmer wants to transfer the same form into production after some changes, we cannot do it. We need to wait till all the users are out of the form to view the new version. Are we doing something wrong ?

This is normal behaviour on Windows. When a user opens a file, the file is locked for rename, delete etc. Try deleting a Word document when somebody is using it. It is just not possible.
Usual solution: patches are put in production in the middle of the night.
If really urgent, the Windows administrator can check who is locking the file and unlock it.

Stacked Canvas problem!! Urgent!!

Is there any way to make a stacked canvas be there on the content canvas forever, coz Its automatically hidden whenever there is an alert popped up!!

Problem accessing database from form builder

I have been trying to access my database using form builder (
developer 6.0). Everytime, I try to connect, it displays message
saying, no "tns listener", "incorrect driver designation". But I
have already configured tns listener using 8i enterprise
edition.
I also tried to configure TNS listener using in Developer 6.0,
but it says, "port is already in use".
Can any one please help me with me this.

Check your TNSNAMES.ORA file that located in ORACLE HOME
FOR DEVELOPER and make sure it has right configuration
information, otherwise configure manually.Also if DB located
not on your machine check HOSTS file.(this file doesn't have any
extention)

Stacked canvas problem

hi,
i am using 2 stacked canvas on a same window. they are one above the other.
but a black colored border is displayed around both of them as it is showing the viewport. background color is gray. i want to remove that border. or if possible then change the color of that border to gray. please suggest something..

ORacle 9i & form builder - XP sp2

I installed Oracle9i in my xp sp2 machine,
I could able to log into the database using system/manager
The n I installed forms builder 6i, in the same machine,
But now I cannot log into server either through SQL plus or Forms Builder-file-connet
I am getting
ORA-12203; TNS UNABLE TO CONNECT TO THE DESTINATION
I am using single machine
any idea

Oracle 10g form builder

Dear All
I have installed 10g developer suite. Report builder is working but forms builder is not working. when ever i tried to open a .fmb file it show's the following error.
i)frm-18108. failed to load the follwoing objects.
ii) frm-10102 cannot attach pl/sql librariey. This attachment will be lost if the module is saved.

Hi,
Add your folder path in Forms_path in registery so it can find your pl/sql library or
create a FMB shortcut on desktop and in property there is Start In Box write the full path of your forms folder .
if you are using any object library then open it first and then open your form.

Copy access data into oracle with form builder 9i

hello
i need to copy/import data and tables from an MS access database into oracle 9i database. the situation is each time i login to my forms applicatin i will need to do that. any idea pls...
the access db is frequently updated. so when i login into my forms application it needs to be reimport the data from access db. can any1 pls help me?

To my opinion, there are 3 potential approaches :
1. rewrite the application, that data are stored directly in the oracle database
or the program writes flat files somewhere to the file system which are able getting
imported from the target instance on daily basis or job driven;
2. The "Access-driven approach" : link oracle tables into the MS-Access application
using an ODBC-connection and build a macro in Access which is exporting the stuff to
the target instance; in order to do so, the Oracle Client and ODBC-Drivers needs to
get installed on the PC where MS-Access is started to start the exportation process
(which is probably yours).
You may then create tables in the target instance and link them from within Access
using ODBC as the datasource
3. The "Oracle driven approach". explained in detail here, never tried it, but maybe
worth a look

Basically, install the Oracle Software on a PC, configure an ODBC-Connection and start a
Listener there;
The target instance (which may no run on a UNIX system) is now able to commuincate
with the local running listener on your PC which itself is instantiating a connection to
the Access "Database" using the ODBC-Connection.
In this way, your PC acts as a database server from the Oracle Net point of view.
In theory, this could even work, depending on the ability to connect from the
instance server directly to the given IP of your PC (Security ?? Hmmmz)

I have installed Oracle AS Infrastructure 10g on linux.
After that, I have installed Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.2. In that I have choosen the installation type "Business Intelligence And Forms" as I want to use forms.
Everything went well.
Finally, when I am trying to open the form webpage using the link ...
http://localhost:7778/forms/frmservlet?form=test.fmx .. a blank page with no result is being shown.
Any configuration changes are to be made?
Can some1 please provide me with the solution.. thanx in advance ...

Try this.
Go to http://localhost:7778
It have to show you the welcome page for midtier, you may see links for Em console, as well to test the other products installed.
Then go to http://localhost:7778/forms/frmservlet
It have to show you also the test page
And by command line do opmnctl status in the midtier Home it have to show you the OC4J_BI_Forms component up and running, as well HTTP_Server
And you can check the status of forms by visitng the EM console in http://localhost:1810 (or check wich port is in $OH/config/portlist.ini from midtierhome).

Setup.exe problem in Oracle Developer Forms 10g in Windows XP

Hi All,
I have downloaded the below files for installing Developer Suit 10g from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/developer-suite/downloads/101202winsoft-087370.html.
1. ds_windows_x86_101202_disk1.zip (626,122,752 bytes)
2. ds_windows_x86_101202_disk2.zip (236,880,881 bytes)
I am installing it on Windows XP, Service Pack 3.
However when I click on setup.exe file in disk1 folder, it does not execute.
I went through the forums which discussed on problems related to execution of setup.exe on XP. Tried most of the things like Stopping the anti virus, run as administrator, rename the file, stop certain services , etc, but however this setup.exe does not run.
I am able to run exe files of other applications. I am having 1GB RAM, 10GB free disk space on P4.
Pl. suggest what could be the possible problem.

Here are a couple of things to try:
1. Make sure there are no spaces in the directory name where you unzipped the installer.
2. As Pilgrim indicated, you must be an administrator on the workstation in order to run the installer.
3. Verify you have a clean download: check the file size and/or CRC information to ensure the download is not corrupt.
