Statistical Special GL indicator   Letter of Credit

Dear Gurus,
I have maintained L/C as statistical Special GL indicator.
i find that when entry is posted using L/c as the Special GL indicator, the Vendor / customer balance gets updated by the same in account balance (FBL1n,FBL5n).
I do not want this to happen.
that is the amount posted using special GL indicator should not update the balance.
Pl let me know how this can be possible
Regards,

    Hi,
In down payment how you will debit the salaries.
Only vendor is debited with special gl and Bank is credited.
so are you making the advance payment with the request or directly making the down payment in f-48.
is 7 special GL indicator that you defined, as Standard is A.
Never change the standard transaction types of down payment.
Standard SAP will not allow to Park the payments.

    Hi
Bank gtee, Performance gtee and Letter of Credit - all three are statistical postings just like contingent assets or liabilities. It should be excluded from the Financial statement version.
These needs to be entered in the below transaction codes:
F-55 - Vendor statistical posting entry
F-56 - Vendor statistical posting entry reversal
F-38 - Customer statistical posting entry
F-19 - Customer statistical posting entry reversal.
    1) For entering this, you need to create a special G/L indicator like bank gtee recd or given, letter of credit recd or given and perf gtee recd or given for customer and vendor in FBKP transaction code.
For creating the special G/L indicator, you need to create recon accounts for these entries in FS00.
    2) You need to create an offsetting account and provide open item management ticked and post automatically ticked in FS00 tcode.
Enter the entry in the above transaction codes.
In case of reversal entries, in the G/L account column, enter the alternative recon account which you provided in the special G/L indicator, enter customer/vendor number and document number and click edit line items. Set the line item to active, but selecting "+" from the F4 option and click post. This will reverse the document you have made.
Hope it will help you lot

  • Financial accounting Letter of credit

    Dear All,
    Please help me out.
How to post the statistical posting like letter of credit in sap and what sp gl config we have to do?

    Hello
Guarantees made are shown in the notes to the balance sheet. Guarantees received, however, are not displayed on the balance sheet. Nevertheless, it is a good idea for internal purposes to have an overview of the guarantees that you have received. In the SAP system, therefore, you can manage guarantees made and received separately from other business transactions - as special G/L transactions.
Processing Guarantees in the SAP System
In the Financial Accounting application component, you use a special function to post guarantees. When you enter a guarantee, you merely enter the account assignments for posting to the customer or vendor account. The offsetting entry is always made to the same offsetting account, a clearing account. This is carried out by the system.
           1.      You post a guarantee made to your customer’s account.
           2.      The system makes the offsetting entry automatically to a clearing account.
Transactions where the system always makes offsetting entries automatically to the same account are called statistical postings, since they are generally not displayed on the balance sheet or only in the appendix. For example, guarantees received are not displayed while guarantees made are displayed in the appendix of the balance sheet because of the liability to recourse.
You require the following to post guarantees:
    ·        Separate special G/L accounts for guarantees made and guarantees received.
For more information, see Special G/L Accounts
    ·        Clearing accounts for the offsetting entry
For more information, see Clearing Accounts
    ·        Posting keys for the offsetting entry
These posting keys are already defined in the system.
    Clearing Accounts
To make an offsetting entry for a guarantee posting, you create the clearing account and define the account number in the system for the automatic posting. You must specify the clearing accounts separately for each chart of accounts. You can differentiate the accounts per debit and credit postings. Since the automatic offsetting entry procedure can be used for any special G/L transactions, you can also differentiate the accounts per account type via the special G/L indicator.
You post guarantees made and received in your system. Additional transactions can also be configured for which an automatic offsetting entry posting is necessary. This enables you to post interest receivables to the same account for example. You would then differentiate your clearing accounts according to the account type and special G/L indicator.

  • Re: Letter of Credit - Imports

    Hello,
I want to map the process of letter of credit in case of imports in SAP.
What the process is, we are making an import PO. Bank opens LC in equal to the invoice amount. We have to pay margin money i.e 25percent of invoice amount to the bank, in turn, bank opens the LC of 75percent of invoice amount. We are capturing the payment of margin money at 25percent in SAP.
The point is, bank is giving the facility of 75percent for 90 days. I dont know how to map this scenario in SAP?

  • Letter of Credit for Vendor Payments

    Hi All,
We are implementing ECC 6.0 Version.
The client requirement is to create Letter of Credit for Vendors and to capture data relating issue of Letter of Credit, Terms of Payment and Expirition Date. Against a Single Letter of Credit issued to a vendor client may receive more than one Invoice till the Expiry period of the Letter of Credit and Value. Further, client may also amend the Old Letter of Credit by extending the validity period or the value of the LC.
I know that we can create letter of credit through Special GL indicator 'L'. But it is one Letter of Credit to One invoice for clearing. How to map one letter of credit to multiple invoices and how we can capture expirition date of LC.
Further same vendor can have multiple LC opened against them for different projects. Please let me know detailed configuration steps.
    Best Regards,
    Bhargav.

    Hi,
Sorry i guess my question is not clear. It is not to link any LC with PO
The client will raise a single LC against any import vendor. Since these are large CAPEX related purchases, the vendor will send multiple invoices. The bank will adjust the LC against the invoices. Post adjustment the bank will send th advice to the company.
My question was how we can adjust multiple invoices against a single LC

  • How to calculate Bill Discount, Letter of Credit, Deposits & Cheque amount!

    Hi,
I have a requirement where in I have to develop a report to display bank balance chart with the following details in the output. They are :
    1. Posting Date
    2. Bill Discount (BD)
    3. Letter of Credit(LC)
    4. Cheque Amount may be cheque issued.
    5. Deposits.
Above are the information which i have to display based on Posting Date range , Company Code and Bank Key present in the selection-screen.
    Below are my few observations:
    1. To retrieve the Bill Discount, I am first fetching the data from BKPF table by checking the document types 'DZ' ,'KZ', Company code and Posting Date Range. Then using document number, company code present in these entries along with Posting key = 39 and special GL indicator = 'W' retrieving the data like DMBTR,WRBTR from BSEG.
    2. Similarly for Letter of Credit amount retrieving the data in the same way as mentioned above except special GL indicator will be 'Y'.
Now please correct me if my approach is wrong. Request you all to throw some light as I am Technical Consultant and humbly looking forward to all your help.
Also, request to let me know the logic or process how one can calculate fourth point as well as Fifth point as mentioned above.
I am just looking for flow of data/process flow/standard transactions through which I can see these above mentioned things which can help me in building the logic. At least a general approach to this will be appreciated highly.

  • Letter of Credit treatment in liquidity forecast FF7B

    Hi there,
My client has a requirement to display letter of credit for import purchase in the liquidity forecast report. My original thought is to treat the L/C as the the noted item using a special G/L indicator, so it can be captured in FF7B. However, this creates another problem, because the L/C related PO or AP amount will also be captured in the FF7B report. It cause the duplicate amount in FF7B
Any suggestions on display L/C amount only in the FF7B if the L/C is created?
    Thanks a lot!
    Best Regards,
    Xuefei

    Thank you very much Lucciano,
In fact I have already solved the problem and hoping it could also help others I will explain it.
This behavior for down payments it is correct as explained on sapnote 29926 because it prevents the system from considering them twice on Liquidity forecast: once from SD and afterwards from FI.
The correct way when SD updates TR, as per tx OT19, it is to let T074-EBENE field empty for this SpGL Indicators (or not because it doesn't affect).
And when it does not because on tx. OT29 "V_001_I-XFDSD - Update SD" field it isn't selected, the you have the "standard" option of:
    1. With tx. OBXR enter entries on T074-EBENE fields, followed by
    2. an appropiated FI substitution (tx. OBBH) of "BSEG-FDLEV" with T074-EBENE and
    3. another substitution (tx. OBBH) for BSEG-FDTAG with BSEG-ZFBDT.
    Nevertheless, thanks a lot!.

  • Letter of Credit Amendaments

    Hi Experts ,
Can any one have good knowledge amendments of Letter of credit.
Can briefly explain what are amendments and in which case we use amendments.

    HI
When you give LC to your suppliers, you need to transfer to Special GL Indicator "W" till you make the payment to your bank as per the due date
of the terms through T Code F-40 and when you make the payment to bank or when your bank debits your account make the payment through F-53 with special indicator "W", which will reverse your LC liability.
As far as I know LC is handled as workaround through Bills of Exchange.
In case if you make advance LC payment do the transaction through F-48 and repeat the F-53 to retire your LC liability.
I request you other forum members also to contribute and concur my approach.
    regards

  • Revolving Letter of Credit - SD.

    Hi Friends,
we have a requirement to implement Revolving Letter of Credit, where if a Payment is made for the particular customer it's value should be added to the existing open LC value .
we tested everything with Static LC and every thing is working fine. but now we have to implement revolving LC
    Example.
LC duration is 1 JAN to 31 JAN
Initial LC Value = Rs. 1000
    order raised     =  Rs.   800
    LC Open value =  Rs . 200
so if the customer makes payment for Rs. 300
the open LC value should be Rs. 200(Earlier open LC value) + 300(payment) = Rs. 500
    Thanks & Regards
    Harsha

    Hi,
Kindly consider that when defining the indicators for special G/L transactions, you should define in each case whether the transaction in question is relevant for the credit limit check.
    Best regards.

    Hellos Experts,
This is neo, I work for the client were they have export sales so they have the Letter Of Credit during the process. Now the scenario is that.
I know some thing like I did the configuration setting for this In IMG (Foreign trade and customs >> Documentary payments) every thing is 5n. and the process which i fallow is

    vl01n-PGI also
    VF01

when i am doing the sales order in the line item i am entering the LC num:":82" and saved the document. After this when i see the VX12N the 82 number then the lc value is decreased. after the completing of delivery and invoice and release also when im going to check the value of LC 82 is reamins same.
    here my qutions are:
    1) how to do the export sales process with LC
2)the process which i fallow is correct or wrong
    3) what is the use of
         a) VKM3
         b) VKm5
         c) VXA3
    4) if during this process do i need to release the document using any special transaction codes

    Dear indrajit
run VX11N and maintain the L/C details there and once saved, a reference number will be generated.  Go to sale order, select at Header tab Billing and assign this reference in the field Financial doc no

  • Letter of Credit in Payment Due Date Calculation

    Dear All,
I meet a case as following:
Sales Order A with 80% Letter of Credit
(L/C) payment (set in header condition) and 20% downpayment, with Payment Terms: L/C payment due
date is before a special date.
Question 1: If downpayment has cleared, whether user can see that a
record of downpayment paid in a Sales Order under SAP standard design?
Question 2: whether SAP standard desgin/configuration can set L/C
payment due date by a payment term? note: L/C is flexible depends on
    different Sales Order?
    Thanks for all your helps!

Did you find a solution to this?
Is it possible to separate down-payment from rest of sales order - so Letter of Credit is only for the sales value minus down- payment?
    SO value 1 Mio USD
    Down-payment .2 Mio USD
LOC value >> .8 Mio USD?
    Cheers
