Step By Step Example for Application Integrator for Yahoo or any kind of

All EP Expert,
I want to create yahoo or Gmail or any kind of url iView on which I can implement SSO for learning purpose on my Local laptop.
I have installed EP SP9 on my laptop.
I go through some blog and some discussion but I am not able to find below files mentioned in those blog.
1. AppIntegrator.zip file to find two files
2. com.sap.portal.howtos.webapp.par file
3. HowToUseAppIntegrator_en.pdf file
So I am not able to perform step by step instruction as mentioned in blogs.
Can any one provide me any kind of documents for EP SP9 for Application Intigrator functionality basically I am interested to integrate JAva base application in my portal with SSO but if any one can provide for Yahoo or Gmail for EP SP9 it will be a great help.

For that you need

Problem while implementing Application Integration for Yahoo

Hi,
   Im trying to communicate with yahoo server by using Application Integrator. For this I have uploaded the PAR file, created System Template, system Object and Alias also.
when come to User Mapping Im able to find my system that is myYahoo, but not able to enter user and password details. Those fields are inactive.
can any one help me with this?

And i got one more problem. After user mapping, I have created an iview. And have given
URL template as
<System.protocol>://<System.server><System.uri>?<Authentication>
and URL template fraction for user mapping as
login=<MappedUser>&passwd=<MappedPassword>.
but Im getting runtime error as
Unable to process template   '<System.protocol>://<System.server><System.uri>?<Authentication>', because 'protocol' is an invalid terminal property of the context 'System.'..
Can u plz guide me regarding this.

Iview capable of performing reverse proxy for application integration.

Is there a iview in EP capable of reverse proxying a web application. We are attempting to setup
our production landscape. We can of course use apache to reverse proxy applications hidden behind our dmz by punching a bunch of holes through our firewall. This is not something we wish wish to do as it totally circumvents the safety imposed by our firewalls and dmz. Not having this capability causes all sorts of difficulties with application integration, cross domain scripting issues as well as administrative burden by having to maintain, secure and expose these internally hosted applications.
If this functionality does not exist in out of the box EP, does anyone know a third
party that offers this?

Cliff,
I am not sure I understood your question correctly.
EP is an application running on NetWeaver Application Server. This AS has a component called as Web dispatcher which works like a reverse proxy but isn't meant to proxy applications running on a different server other than NetWeaver AS.
Where is your web application deployed?
More info needed.

Best practice for application module for scalability

if i compare application module with forms 6i runtime session.(correct me if i wrong)
In forms 6i, we create for single form for purchase entry. in which we select table like po , po_item, item_master, customer master
also single form for sales entry. in which we select table like sales , sales_item, item_master, customer master, po , po_item
So my question is. in jdeveloper , we planning to make separate jsp page and applicaiton module for purchase entry,
separare jsp page and application module for sales.
is it ok.
or
what is the best practice in this senario.?? ( or in scalability senario)
if i made one single application module for whole application (let say 300 entity's(tables)) will performance of my app server degrade.

Best practice for application help for a custom screen?

The system is Netweaver 7.0 SP 15 with e-recruiting .
We have some custom SAP GUI transactions and have written Word documents with screen prints and explanations. I would like to make the procedure document accessible from the custom transaction or at least provide custom help text that includes a link to the full documents.
Can anyone help me out with options and best practices for providing customized application help for custom SAP GUI transactions?

Hello Margaret,
sorry I though you might be still in a design or proof of concept phase where the decision for the technology is still adjustable.
If the implementation is already done things change of course. The standard in-system documentation is surely not fitting your needs as including screenshots won't work well.
I would solve the task the following way:
I'd make a web or pdf document out of the word document and put it on a web ressource - as you run e-recruiting you have probably the possibility for that.
I would then just put a button into the transaction an open a web container to show the document.
I am not sure if this solution really qualifies as "best practise" but SAP does the same if you call the Help for application in the help menue. This is implemented in function module SAPGUIHC_OPEN_HELP_CENTER. I'd just copy it, throw out what I do not need and hard code the url to call.
Perhaps someone could offer a better solution but I think this works a t least without exxagerated costs.

BW toolbar add for BOBJ Integration for SAP..silent add

I have searched and searched but cannot find the command-line syntax for adding/enabling the BW toolbar in the BOBJ Integration for SAP installation. I need to do this to a few remote PC's. I know how to do this from the GUI..but would like to do it from a command line. Can someone please help?

Due to the patch level you have the easiest way is to first uninstall all BO components and then install them again.
You can use the -w command line parameter of setup.exe in order to record an installation script
eg. setup.exe -w myInstallScript.ini) in which you choose the BW toolbar option
You can use then the recorded script to do the silent installation on the workstation you want
eg. setup.exe -r myInstallScript.ini.
Do not forget to copy the recorded script.
The -w and -r flags work for the BI XI 3.1 and CR 2008 installers (setup.exe) incl. Service Packs and Fix Packs.

VBS script for auto integration for multiple channels

Hello there,
I would like to create a Diadem script to auto analyse multple channels in a tdms file.
As I haven't yet gone on the diadem advanced course, I need help.
I have tried the recording mode but I must pick each channel manually then integrate it (but I have around 150 separate channels !)
I would like to therefore create a routine which starts at the first channel, integrates it, times it by 3600, then chooses the max value and stores this in a new channel.
It would then continue down the list until all channels are complete.
I need a loop routine , but don't understand yet how to create it....one day I'm sure it will appear simple ...
Can anybody help ..?

Why don't you post a typical data sett of yours with 150 channels. That way the code we give you will work without any edits needed on your end.

Is there any kind of step up program for motherboards?

I have an MSI GD80-B3 Z68 motherboard I would like to trade up to a G3 if possible. Are there any programs in place for this? Do I have any kind of options short of selling the board?

Is there a good step-by-step proces for archiving photos to DVD or Blu-Ray?

What's the step-by-step process for taking a project and backing it up to Blu-Ray? My library is pretty big, and I need to back it up.
I'd like to be able to have Aperture still show the thumbnails when I launch (and still be able to search with keywords and locations and such), but then prompt me to insert a disc when I want to reference the actual image.
Is this easy? What's the process?

You have a couple of options here (in place renaming and renaming at export) depending on what your needs are:

Note - the renaming is in step #5.
Also, do you know anything about the metadata? If I back up the images, is the metadata included? That is to say, if I use an app like CDFinder (a disc cataloging and searching utility) to search for terms, will they show up? Or is the metadata only accessible from within Aperture?
Not sure regarding that app as I have never used it, but you really have two options:
1 - Export as JPEG, TIFF or PSD and opt to include all metadata (this obviously doesn't help with backing up Master RAW files).
2 - Export Master copies with ITPC metadata written into file (not sure what all would be included in your case, but you could easily test with an image).

Is it mandatory to run wcConfigure script for UCM integration????

I'm looking to integrate an already running instance of UCM 10.1.3.5.1 version with webcenter. I have tried the integration steps by following the documentation and was able to do it. But wcConfigure script is making lots of configuration changes in our UCM instance which are not acceptable.
Is it necessary to run the wcConfigure sript for UCM integration?
Is there any other option to integrate UCM without running this script?

Hey Varun,
Each Contribution Folder in UCM has a set of metadata associated with it. You can change this metadata in the UCM interface by going to the particular folder and selecting Information (or Folder Information) from the actions drop down. This will display the metadata associated with that folder including security group and account. Select Update from the actions drop down on that page to change this info.
Whenever an item (folder or content) is created under another folder it will automatically inherit the default metadata set for that folder. There is also an option to propagate the changes you make to the metadata to content directly underneath a particular folder. That option is also in the actions dropdown on the folder information screen.
The other thing to check is that the user who is logged into Webcenter has privileges in UCM to the security group and account that you define for the folders and content. By default UCM is not going to be hooked up to the embedded WLS LDAP so you would need to create the user locally in UCM via the User Admin applet or (preferably) integrate UCM with the WLS LDAP. (See Chapter 7 in the Managing Security guide http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10316_01/cs/cs_doc_10/documentation/admin/managing_security_10en.pdf for LDAP integration instructions)

Document integration for Bex reports and web reports

Hi,
I would like to attach few documentaion (like business usage of the report) for all existing reports in BW system. We are delivering all reports through Bex reports and Web reports.
Report user should be able to see attached documentation through "Document" property in Web report.
I have followed this way but not able to get on-line documentation for queries.
1. RSA1--> Documents >Meta Data> selected Object type ELEM> Import document> attached word document.
2. I enabled Documents property in Query designer.
3. When I executed this query in Bex, I could see document symbol for all characteristics & Key figures in all cell (in default view)
4. The same result with Web report (all cells are having document symbol).
But I dont want to display documents in defaul view, if any user wanted to have doucment info, then should click on "document" tab and should be able to down load / read on line.
Let me know why I am getting document symbol for all key / char, even though i selected "ELEM". I know we could direclty import documents in query designer, what is the difference..

User interface for Application Wizard Questionnaire - Order of Questionnair

Hi We have ECC6, eRecruitment 603 and have a query regarding the user interface for application wizard for the Application HRRCF_A_REF_APPLWIZRAD_EXT, Web dynpro component HRRCF_C_QUESTIONNR_UI.
We need to know if it is possible to influence the order in which the questionnaires appear for the user to complete.
Example: We have designed the process template to have quesitonnaires in a certain order, Reason for Application first and then Additional Information and then Equal Ops questionnaire. But when the user applies and clicks on the road map questionnarie they do not appear in this order.

We have found that SAP note 1386825 fixes this issue. For existing requisitions to pick up the fix they have to be resaved.

Searching for Applications?

Is there a way to do a search on the Hard Drive specifically for Applications? For example, if I want to find Photoshop, and I do a search for "Photoshop", about 50 results will show up.
Sometimes things aren't in the Applications folder, like an unused App.

Hi Allan,
Going beyond your original question a bit, I wanted to suggest, if the reason you are searching for a particular Application is to open it, I find that dragging an alias of the Applications folder to the Dock is very handy. This will give you the option of simply clicking and holding on the alias in the Dock to show its contextural menu of all items in your Applications folder and will allow you to simply select one to open. These are in alphabetical order in the contextural menu so it makes finding the Application quite simple (unless the application has an odd name compared to what is commonly known by and you don't remember it).
Additionally, there will be all the applications and your Utilities folder that when you mouse over in the contextural menu will open sub-contextural menus that will allow you to choose items within them.
Just remember that folders inserted in the Dock need to be placed between the Trash icon and the seperator bar.
This really alleviates a lot of drilling down in finder windows to find the specific app or utility that you are trying to open.
I have found, for myself at least, that this works rather well for my workflow.
