Steps to install Oracle9i AS

I have just installed Oracle9i AS - both infrastucture and Business Intelligence (Forms, Reports, Discoverer only) - on a machine with 256M RAM. The installation went fine but the FORMS component is running. Infact, it is not even creating a service for Forms in the Win2000 Services.
Is there a service created for Forms?
Are there any steps needed to be taken after installation to get the Forms service up and running ?
The Oracle Enterprise Manager has blanked the Select option for FORMS to start or stop.
Please help!

There is no separate Forms Service that gets created in this version of Oracle9iAS. If you see the HTTP Server running and OC4J_BI_FORMS is up and running, then Forms is up.

How-to install Oracle9i on W2k with IIS ?

I would like installing Oracle9i Personal Edition on my W2k workstation BUT using IIS webserver (so NOT installing the with Oracle9i delivered Apache webserver). I suppose I need to do a Custom install? But what options do I need to deselect? I already tried it once deselecting some options, I thought that were related to Apache, but the system told me that it were necessary options.
So please who can me exactly tell how to achieve the installation 9i with IIS?

There are two options
1. If you don't want the HTTP Server (Apache Server), go to the Custom and deselect the HTTP Server.
If you cannot do this, then Install Oracle 9i and then follow the following Step.
2. After Installing Oracle 9i, Restart the Machine. Login to the System Using Administrator User Login, Go to the Administrative Tools which will be in Contorl Panel, and Open the Services and Select the "OracleOraHome90HTTPServer" Service and Stop this Serivce and then go to the properties of the same service and change the Automatic startup mode to Disabled. Then Go to the IIS and Restart the IIS now. Know IIS Will Run.
Problem with Apache is, it is also using Prot 80, since IIS is least software Apache is Dominating the IIS. I am also Getting the Same problem I am trying to change the port of the Apache Server if i found any solution for this, I will let know about the Same.

Error on Install Oracle9i R2 on RedHat Linux 7.3

When I have installed Oracle9i R2 on RedHat Linux 7.3,I reboot the machine,
and then write this:
sqlplus
SQL> sys /change_on_install as sysdba
SQL>Connect to Iddle
SQL>startup
SQL>sltln:environment variable cannot be evaluated
What`s the matter?

Looks like some file that's present in tmp or
/var/tmp during deployment cannot be overwritten
because of permissions issue. Please make
sure you don't have previous installation temp files
in /var/tmp or /tmp before doing new installation or
use the same use that installed the first instance.
You can try cleaning up tmp and /var/tmp and retry.
Also try setting umask 00 before installations.

Problems to install Oracle9i on Linux RH 7.1

Error message appeared during installation process.
"Error in involing target install of makefile
/disk01/app/oracle/products/9.0.1/plsql/lib/ins_plsql.mk"

Error in writing to directory when installing Oracle9i

Hi, i am installing Oracle9i 64bit on a 64bit processor and when i run the installer and i get the following error:

Installing Oracle9i on Windows XP Pro

Hi,
I've just installed Oracle9i Server on Windows XP, the Database is installed probarly & is working fine, but the Enterprise Manager Console window is right aligned. Everything in it, the File Menu is starting from the right side, the vertical bar is on the right side, the Databases tree is also right aligned on the window.
I beleive that I have to change some value in the Windows Registry, but I don't know which one, if any one can please help me and tell me which value I should change or add to the registry.

I just checked this again, at work, on my 2000 machine. I changed my locale to saudia arabia and that resulted in the alignment you mentioned earlier. I switched it back to its default english - united states and the alignment is no loner at the right.
In addition to that my nls_lang setting is :
AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252
Note though, that simply changing the locale did it for me, regardless of my nls_lang setting.

Check for the latest updates. Installing latest updates should resolve this problem.
Also, try to ran disk repair using safe mode in Mac, for instructions please visit: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14204
Try enabling root user profile on mac and try to check. OS X Mavericks: Enable and disable the root user

Change the file property to executable. Open a terminal, do it as ârootâ user.

4. Modify /etc/sysctl.conf, add the following content:

net.ipv4.ip_local_port_range = 1024 65000
If you have more then 2G ram, you can set kernel.shmmax = 2147483648
5. Modify /etc/security/limits.conf, add the following content:
     oracle ãããsoft ãããnofile ãã 65536
     oracle ãããhard ãã nofileããã65536
     oracle ãããsoft ãããnproc ãã 16384
     oracle ãããhard ãã nproc ãã 16384
then, restart the computer.
III. Prepare the user and the directories
1. Add user and groups
groupadd oinstall
groupadd dba
useradd -g oinstall -G dba oracle
passwd oracle
2. Make directories
mkdir -p /opt/ora9/product/9.2
mkdir /var/opt/oracle
chown oracle.dba /var/opt/oracle
chown -R oracle.oinstall /opt/ora9

3. Change X unlimited to anyone
xhost +

What are the correct steps for installing Oracle Entitlement Server SSM?

Can somebody explain what are the correct steps to install OES SSM 10.1.4.3? I have installed OES admin 10.1.4.3 and applied the CP2 patch. it is allowing me to open Entitlement Administration, where I can define the policy.
Is it sufficient to have this Entitlement Admin to call the policy from BPM? Do I need a SSM ?
When I try to configure Java SSM using ConfigTool.bat -process myssm_config.properties I am getting the following error

I installed Oracle9i Database on my Win2000 AdvancedServer,but when i try to open Enterprise Manager by clicking "Enterprise Manager Console" from Start menu, can u believe what happened?? OK , let me tell u, NOTHING HAPPENED! no alerts,no windows,nothing.
I have started the "OracleOraHome90ManagementServer" Service, and the windows2000 system is a brandnew one.
Being a newbit of Oracle, i dont know what to do now, please help me.
