Still only grants me "Guest" privileges!?

OK the problem I have was briefly touched upon in another thread, but that seems to be dead at this stage.
I am trying to connect (over a wireless router connection) the shared documents folder of a PC running XP Home, with my Macbook running the latest update of leopard 10.5.3.
Once networking is configured in XP, the computer running Windows XP will come up automatically in Finder. You can click on the Shared computer and it will connect as "Guest". When you hit "Connect As," it gives you the option to connect as the registered user (the XP username and password on the other computer). When I do that, it STILL only grants me guest privileges, NOT Registered User privileges (can't delete, move files, etc).
Please can anyone help?

Im not clear on this: why does GRANT ANY OBJECT PRIVILEGE give you the ability to grant SYSTEM privs??

This conflicts with the admin guide (http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/server.920/a96521/privs.htm#15326) which says: "To grant a system privilege, you must have been granted the system privilege with the ADMIN OPTION or have been granted the GRANT ANY PRIVILEGE system privilege."
It works as said in the admin guide.

How to grant create table privilege for a user on a specific table

Hi:
I created a user, for a test scenario. I granted this user create any table, and I made the default tablespace as example.
When I connect as the user and try to create a table, I get this:
SQL> create table T1 (NAME varchar2 (500), AGE number(2));
create table T1 (NAME varchar2 (500), AGE number(2))
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01950: no privileges on tablespace 'EXAMPLE'
How can I grant the necessary privilege to have user create/delete tables on tablespace example?

create user ADAM identified by radge default tablespace EXAMPLE
quota 10M on EXAMPLE;
for example 10Mbytes given to Example tablespace.... or you can write:
.....quota unlimited on EXAMPLE
and
grant connect to ADAM
grant create table to ADAM .....
or
grant connect , resource to ADAM .... although grant resource is not recommended...
....and something else....
you should define temporary tablespace in create user command... otherwise the system would be used...

Yes, the two libraries should merge. However, you need to turn on match on one computer and let it finish before adding the second library.
Once you turn march on n your phone then you don't sync it with iTunes, but the merged library will show up on the phone. If you don't turn on match on your phone and continue to sync then all of the music from both libraries should be available to sync to it.
The only bit I can't confirm is what happens if you try to sync music to the phone which isnt actually downloaded into iTunes. Im not in a position to test that, but maybe someone else can help.

I'm trying to follow ML note 2499931.1 'Using Dbms_Advisor.Tune_Mview To Optimize Materialized Views For Fast Refresh' and am receiving an error suggesting the user4 does Not have the Advisor privilege
despite the fact that it does. What am I missing ?
Every note I've found so far suggests granting the privilege is the fix.
I have and continue to receive the error.

Per another forum the answer appears to be that sys didn’t have the advisor privilege.
Granted advisor to sys and ran the statement again as soauser and no error.

dng converter and cr are two different programs.
while they both do the same thing, the dng converter is a stand-alone app that does not install into another adobe program and cr installs into another adobe app like photoshop, lightroom etc.
and the latest version (as of 6/25/14) is cr 8.5.
download the dng converter is you have an app that's to old to accept cr 8.2 (or cr 8.5).

I already create a new schema and import the neccessary data for that schema.
Now I want to assign all the privilege for that schema to user HR (let user HR become the owner of that schema). How to deal with it?

but perhaps that is just semantics in the context of what you really want.

Nic Teaming still only 1gbps?

I have a Dell R610 with 4 Broadcom Nics that I am trying to team together so I can transfer data on my local network faster that ~112MBps. The problem is, when I go through Server 2012 R2 and create the NIC team (I've done LACP, static, etc.) I am still
only getting ~112MBps.
I am transferring to another Server 2012 R2 server, setting it's LACP/LAG up the same way.
I am using a Cisco SG200-18 Smart Switch, which is setup for LACP/LAG.
I was reading another post about Server 2012 R2 only using 1x NIC for TCP/IP transfer of data, but I'm not sure how to enable it to use more than that so I can achieve faster that 1gbps transfer speeds.

There is no way to get more than 1 Gbps out of a 1Gbps NIC. That is all that it can do. When you start a copy process, a TCP session is opened on a single NIC and data moves across that link at a maximum of 1 Gbps. Now, if you have multiple
files, you can start multiple jobs. Each separate job would create a new TCP session that can each move a maximum of 1 Gbps.
So, a 4-NIC team could theoretically have four streams (four copy jobs) going at the same time to achieve maximum throughput. You would have to create each copy stream to copy specific files so that you don't copy the same file multiple times.
You still won't get 4 Gbps throughput, but you will get better than trying to accomplish the copy with a single process.
Technically you can have more than four streams going on simultaneously, but the maximum you are going to get through on any one NIc is still going to be 1 Gbps.

Is there really still only one range key for partitions?

Hi All,
I had need to look up the manual on partitioning functions.
The manual reads like there is still only one field available to define as the partition key with left and right for placement.
Am I reading this right? That MSFT have not yet enabled multi field partition columns?
I just want confirmation because I can barely believe it.

Based on my research, the partition function has to be defined on a single column, it doesn’t support multiple columns.
To work around this issue, we can use computed column option that is a combination of the multiple columns we're trying to partition by. If you don’t care a rare incorrect partition, then we can also use Checksum.

Compressor 3.5.3 Quickcluster still only uses 20%CPU. What gives?

I'm using Final Cut Studio 7. Compressor 3.5.3. First i couldn't get clusters to work at all. So i uninstalled and reinstalled FCS7 and the Clusters seem to -set up- just fine. But when i submit a batch, Compressor STILL only uses about 20% of the CPU. What Gives? it would do that without a cluster anyway. It bugs me that Final Cut 7 only uses about 20% when rendering footage as well. I've thought about upgrading, but the reviews for fcpX and Compressor 4 have not been great.
Advice:

What codec are you using and how long it the video? Quickcluster is a waste of time if you going to ProRes. If the video duration is short Quickclusters won't kick in with all cores running.
There nothing wrong with Compressor 4... Going to compressor 4 won't solve your problem.

How to import only grants

Hello,
Does anyone know how to import only grants from a .dmp file?
1. We did a full export of the source schema.
2. During our 1st import run, we imported the tables only.
3. Now we would like to import only grants.
Is this (step 3) possible with the datapump import/export utility?

Thanks for the link. It was a good doc, which helped me to understand the datapump with sqlfile parameter.
I did a test run of generating sqlfile with impdp, and was able to get the sql script with grant only.
Here is what I did:
1. Run the following:
impdp system/***** parfile=test_imp_grant_only.param
2. Below is what's in the parameter file (test_imp_grant_only.param)
DIRECTORY=datapump
SCHEMAS=ABC
Include=grant
sqlfile=datapump:test_imp_grant_only.sql
DUMPFILE=datapump:test_export_ABC.dmp
3. The sql script (test_imp_grant_only.sql) will be generated under datapump directory.

If iChat was put inside a subsidiary folder of the Applications one then it will not get removed.
Apple App need to be loose in the Applications Folder or they will not update properly either.
I have heard of people creating a "Messaging App Folder" and keeping this inside the Applications folder with the consequences listed.
