STO Creation - Availability check

When you create an STO & if there is not enough stock in supplying plant, you got a WARNING message saying something like u201C of Material XXXXXX, only 49 EA are available on desired dateu201D.  The STO is saved but the system put a date of 12/31/9999 into the COMMITTED DELIVERY DATE for that material/line item. Even when additional materials are available, since the COMMITTED DELIVERY DATE is 12/31/9999, SAP will not try to deliver them.  Now the business is asking to change this warning message to  error message (06 450 Message number). If I change this warning message to error message, I believe it will impact all other type of STO's, PO's & SO's also. We want this warning message to be changed to Error message only for a particular STO type. What are the options available to us.
Edited by: Csaba Szommer on Feb 2, 2012 8:33 AM

You can control document type by putting some logic in some user exit.Suppose If PO first line item has no stock available and other line items confirmed in this case if you make it error that message then you can not save the STO?.For smooth flow STO keep the message to warning and tell the Business to follow the process. If Business really insisted to stop creating the PO if any line item is not confirmed then you can try for user exit.

  • How to include STO PR availability check while DRP run?

    Hello gurus,
I will explain my scenario by following ex.
    1. Suppose i have a requirement in Plant A of quantity 500.
    2. Plant B has stock of 800 Q
    3. But there is a outbound STO PR of quantity 500 from PLANT B to Plant C.
    4. So, now when i run DRP, it is creating STO PR of quantity 500 from plant B to Plant A (actually it should not happen as there is already outbound STO PR.... point 3)
My question is how i can take into consideration STO PR... Means actual available quantity in plant B should be 800-500 = 300.
    Its not happening currently.
How can i activate this?  Is there any customisation related to this in Availability check or in plant parameters.
    Plz. help

    Hello,
As explained in my earlier example.....
If there is a STO PR where
    ex.
Supplying Plant is B -    so for plant B it is outbound as stock is going out
Receiving Plant C -  for plant C it is inbound as stock is coming in.....
so now look into my earlier example...u will understand it clearly....
and i m running DRP....BY Zprogram......to create STO pr and program is not considering the quantity of sto pr..
    Please suggest...

  • ME59N not allowing PO creation- Availability check

    Hi
I created  a PR and trying to do Autom PO creation using ME59N, but when I execute ME59N, I am getting a message as NO Items Found in ME59N T Code.
I used to PR number again in ME21N to create PO by manually providing PR number in ME21N line item. But I am getting a warning as " Of material XYX-123, only 0 EA are available on desired date"
Few things I checked are Auto PR is Ticked in Purchasing view of material master and Vendor master.
CAn someone help me how can I make availability of material in the scheduled date. Here we using  APO also.
MD04- From APO Product availablity overview- CUmulative QTY- 17, Confirm Quantity- 0. My PR Qty is 1.
Can some one guide me what might be the problem, in which I am not able to create PO from ME59N. as it is showing No items.
Also when I try to cretae manuall, its saying available qty is zero.
    Thanks
    Vineeth Varghese

    Hi There
I hope you trying to convert the STR(PR) to STO(PO),,  And in the supplying plant avilability on the delivery date is ZERO,,
Raise the stock in Supplying plant( through 561- if you are only doing testing) and make sure that availability is more than the required,, and try to create the STO(PO) in ME59n the PO will create,,,
Seems you have configured as Dynamil Safety Stock, sytem will look not only Current Stock, but also a MRP point of view,, If there is any reservations, cutomer requirement and order requirement, system will block the current stock for that usage,,
Guessing thats the reason you are facing this issue,,
    Thanks

  • Availability check

    Dear All
We have a requirement that if a material say stock is 10 in unrestricted then we create a STO for 10 units then in MMBE  say in a plant 1000 still unrestricted will be 10 but in that details there will be 10 units STCK TRPSTORDER REL (under this heading) 10 units is appearing
STO happening from plant 1000 to plant 1001
When an incoming sales order comes for that same material in the same plant then system allocates these 10 units to that order which we dont want to happen in the plant 1000
But when we initially make a sales order instead of STO if the unrestriced is 10 then it shows in sales order stocks (under this heading) 10 units is appearing in the plant 1000
When an incoming sales order comes then system  does not allocate these 10 units to that order and says no stock which is our requirement
*In Simple stocks are getting reserved for open sales orders but not for open STOs with availability check in a plant*
This we want it for STO after creating PO itself
Note if the delivery is generated for STO then system says no stock for the incoming order which is fine
    In OVZ9
    1.include sales requirements is ticked
    2. include rel ordd  requirements (for STO is consideration is marked as X)
3.Include stock in transfer is ticked
Friends Expecting your valuable comments and suggestions
Stocks should be reserved for STO how do  i control  this in OVZ9?
Hope i am clear about my Requirement Any clarifications needed?
    Regards
    Raja

    Dear Lakshmipathi
Thanks for the reply But that doesnt solve.Already checked there
But we have to control SD settings only in OVZ9 as the requirement is to check availability for sales order creation only
    Scenario 1
In MMBE Plant is 1000 Material is A unrestricted stock is 10
We create a sales order no 1 for material A for 10 units in this plant and saved
Now in MMBE unrestricted also 10 in that details Sales reqirements also 10
When we create a next sales order no 2 system tells no stock and gives confirmed qty as zero which is fine (in OVZ9 include sales requiremts is ticked and hence system reserves stocks for order no 1 and says 0 stocks for order no 2)
    Scenario 2
Plant is 1000 Material is A unrestricted stock is 10
We create a STO for material A for 10 units from this plant 1000 to be sent to  another plant 1001
    STO created and saved
Now in MMBE unrestricted also 10 in that details Stock trnasport resevation also 10
So as of now the stocks are reserved for that STO
Now if an incoming sales order if comes system allocates these stocks to that sales order which we dont want to happen
In Simple stocks are getting reserved for open sales orders but not for open STOs with availability check in a plant
In OVZ9 in the inward and outward movements tab there is a control box called incl.rel.order.reqs which is set to X and the F1 explanation tells that it will take to STO also into consideration
But actually it is not happening
Include sales requirements is working but not this one
Has anyone undergone  this scenario ?
    Regards

  • Availability check for STO?

    Hi,
While doing Stock transfers order (PO) plant to plant with in the company code, there is no controlling on availability check, though stocks are not available in the supplying plant, while making delivery thro VL10B,  delivery is creating with '0' Qty. This system want to stop the delivery when quantities are not available in the supplying plant.
The following steps are configured for availability check for STO
Schedule line Like NN activated for availability, Assigned schedule lines to item category like NLN and determined rule for STO document type, plant, Delivery type and checking rule in MM.
how to control the delivery,  when stock are not available in supplying plant? (Means, when stock are not available in the supplying plant, delivery creation should stop through VL10B)
Is there any more configuration is required, pl guide.

    Alexandro,
During delivery creation, the system performs an availability check (ATP).  You can assign the Delivery notice type for a stock transfer order delivery notice at OMGN.  The ATP for DN will be the standard ATP rules for SD delivery notices (checking rule B).You can determine which elements are used for availability checking in OVZ9.
To meet your goals, I suggest you use:
Check w/o replenishment lead time ticked
    Include deliveries ticked.
Optionally, according to your company's policies
    Include safety stock ticked
    Include quality inspection stock ticked
    Everything else unticked.

  • Material Availability check during work order creation and Release

    Hello All,
We are checking material availability at creation as well as release
Say we have Material XYZ=100 in stock MMBE
Now XYZ =100 is say at normal storage location =75
and scrap storage location=05 and serviceable =20
Currently when availability check is performed it checks for 95 (It excludes scrap storage location 05 )
but we want  Availability check to be only for normal stock =75 and not for Serviceable and Scrap location
how to do this in configuration or via exits
Since if the material is under Scrap location it is not counting in Availability check at work order creation this logic is working fine but I do know from where this control is put that when the material is in the stock of scrap it is not counting in Availability check for work orders.Same thing I want to extend it to Serviceable stock .
Why not it is consider it for Scrap storage location , what is config or any MM enhancement
So that when Availability check run it will not consider Materials at SCRAP as well as SERVISABLE storage location also.
Please have your views on this
    Regards
    pratap

    Hello
There are two option for your requiement
    1. Changing the status of the servisable storage location stock to restricted use stock . You can include or exclude this stock status material in OPJJ. This solution is not storage location dependent. It is stock status dependent.
    2. Please refer the enhancement for the storage location determination. I am not sure about this funtionality:
For production orders the following enhancement is available:
PPCO0005 enhancement for storage loc. determination/backflushing
You can use this enhancement to change the storage location and the indicator 'backflushing' in the reservation.
The enhancement PPCO0005 contains the following enhancement components:
    Function exit
    EXIT_SAPLCOSD_001 storage location determination/backflushing
You can find the description in modification text of the function exit.
You can find an example of the user exit in the function group XC01 in the include LXCO1F05.

  • How to make material availability check work during Work Order creation

    Hi Experts,
    Kindly advice about these matters:
    1. How to make material availability check work during Work Order creation?
My requirement is Work Order can not be created when it has missing parts. I have set the config to '3' can not created when is has missing parts, but it still does not work.
I have implemented SAP Notes 1148139 on my system (SAP ECC 6 Ehp 5) also, but still does not have any effect.
I must not set the config Res./Purch Doc creation to 'immediately', because it does not fit to my user requirement. Is there anyone knows how to solve this requirement?
    2. How to make information message/ Availability check screen appear when sparepart is missing, without clicking Availability Check button? for example: appear when clicking Save button.
    Thank you

    Hi Maheswaran,
I have implement the prerequisite notes. (Notes 790219 and 1034962). Do you know why it is still does not work?

  • Availability check during production order creation - Missing parts details

    Hai Gurus,
I have one problem during Availability check when converting Planned order to production order.
    1) A- is the finished material, which has A1 to A7 components.
    2) A2 is the procured item with safety stock and it has safety stock also.
    3) When sale order is created , the material A2 is reserved against the planned order for finished material - A.
    4) so when availability is checked during planned order stage , system says no missing parts, when planned order
is converted to production order system says missing parts for component A2, which is stock and reserved against
         planned order
    5) Checking rule for Production order is maintained as follows,
         a) Include safety stock.
         b) Include reservation.
         c) Include sales requirement
         d) Include deliveries.
         e) Include dependent reservations.(x)
         f) Include production orders.(X)
         g) Check release for stock transport orders only.( A)
So now i don't know where I went wrong , so that the system could consider the safety stock of Component A2 which is in stock and already reserved against planned order and it does not show missing parts when planned order is checked.
Waiting for your positive feed back.
    Regards,
    Sekar chand

    Dear,
What checking rule you have maintained for planned order.???
As what i can understand by your question that you have maintained to check reservation only in production order not in planned order. Or one important thing mostly people configure to reserve material only after release or creation of production order. Are you reserving material at planned order stage.?
Check these things. you will automatically find the answer. Hope it will help you. Revert back for more clarification.

  • Availability check during process order creation

    Hi all,
can anyone tell me significance of availability check during creation /change of process order?? ( in terms of business)
    how is the usual processs?

    Hi,
Availability check for a material is carried out only if the material is
    1. A stock item
    2. Not a phantom item
    3. Not a bulk material.
    This can be carried out
    1. during order creation
    2. during order release
    3. when a created order is saved
Availability check can be triggered either manually or automatically.
For this we need to define in checking control(opjk)
First define a checking group(ovz2) and checking rule and this
must be assigned to checking scope.(opjj)
In the checking scope(opjj) we should define
    1. which Mrp elements are to be considered during check
    2. which inventory categories are to be taken into account
    3. whether Replinishment lead time is to be taken into account or not
    4. whether check is also to be carried at storage location level.
This checking rule must be linked to checking control(opjk)in which you can say
1.No availability check for the material
2.Availability check when saving the order
3.What type of check is to be carried
whether ATP CHECK or Check against PIR quantities
    4. Whether order should be released or not if there is
    any missing parts.
The checking group is assigned to material master MRP3 view. Please check whether checking gorup is assigned to all the components in the BOM.

  • VL10A - Stock on hand Availability Check before creation of delivery

    Hi,
I'm trying to figure out how to control the creation of delivery via VL10A to first check for actual receipted stock before allowing the delivery to be created.
eg. Material X has inbound delivery date 01.07.2011.  Sales Order has delivery date of 01.07.2011, thus schedule line has confirmed date of 01.07.2011.
On 01.07.2011, inbound delivery has not yet been GR'd into stock, VL10A runs with current date set and outbound delivery is created for Sales Order, despite the stock not being available to deliver.
Where does this check (for available stock on hand) need to be performed?
Is there a setting in the input parameters in VL10A? If so which specific parameter on what tab controls this?
If not, does this need to be handled in the Availability Check & Transfer of Requirements configuration of the sales order, so that the schedule line is not confirmed until the goods are in stock?  If so, what specific config is required to achieve this.
During my research I have found responses indicative of both areas however no specific examples are available. Thanks for your help
    Jodes

    Hi
Please check OVZ9 . In availability check control you can control the in/outward movements.
    Hope it helps

  • Creation of Sale Order for configurable material with availability check.

    Hi,
We have a scenario in which the material is configurable. The configurable material (X) has few variants (Ex: X1, X2, X3, X4, X5). While booking the sale order, we use the material number (X).
Further, the material planning is done for the variants X1, X2, X3, X4, X5. The standard variants are planned for production in advance.
    1.     While booking the sale order, we want the availability check of the stock (type matching to happen). What needs to be done in configuration?
    2.     While booking the sale order, there is a possibility that the configuration selected will not match with any of the standard variants due to some additional requirements of the optional features, in such cases how to link the standard variants to the sale order & create requirement for additional requirements.
    Regards,
    Umesh

    Hi Umesh,
1.Create material master for configurable material and variants in mm01.
2.Maintain BOM for the configurable material in CS01
               3. Configur the variant configuration steps
                  a. Create charecteristics T.code CT04
                  b. Create values and assign classes
                  c. assign the values to charecteristics
                  d . Maitain dependence  T.code CU01
                  e.create configuration profile t.code CU41
                  f.stimulate the configuration profile.
    4. Do the availability check configuration through this path
IMG --> Sales and distribution > Basic functions ,> Availabilty check and Transfer of requirements.
    5. Maintain the Availbility check field and MRP views in the material masters other wise you sit with PP people and do that
I hope it will help you

  • Longer time for Material Availability check while creation of prd order.

    Hi guys,
I am facing a weird problem while creating production orders thru CO01.
I enter the component and plant and I am also using the forward scheduling option.
for some reason, SAP is taking a long time for material availability check when I hit the release button.
Sometimes its taking more than an hour. Its happening with few specific BOM's, and I have checked the master data but I could hardly find a problem in master data.
Can someone suggest me some tips ??
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sashivardhan

    Hi,
Please check the Availability check control maintained for Components it should be 01 or 02. Also check the issue storage location maintained or not. You can maintain issue storage location in BOM in Status/lng text tab in Production Storage Location.
    Hope this will help.
