When the goods are delivered, how to check whehter the storage bin is enough to put the material by the storage bin capacity and material capacity usage?

Via LS03N, I can found that some capacity utilization is greater than 100%, this must be incorrect, what's the reason? is there any report to update the capacity utilization for storage bin?

For the capacity checks, the remaining capacities or the used weight in the storage bin master data are updated with every putaway or picking. If you change the inspection method in the current operations or you change capacity or weight data of materials or storage unit types, you then need to make a comparison of the data. You can make this comparison with report RLS10200. First read the documentation before you start the report.

Row consolidations of same material in storage bins.

Hi Experts,
we have a requirement below,
. Current Process: Inventory Analysts utilize an established query in SQ00 to enable them to perform row consolidations of same material in storage bins to maximize storage bin capacity and create empty storage bins in warehouses .
Example: Row 621 only has 1 pallet and that pallet will fit in row 625(Row) of which only has 31 but the max is 32 in that bin. Again you see bins 725 and S-27(material) only have 1 pallet each and can fit easily in 715 as it only has 15 pallets but can hold 32.
. The analyst take the data from this query and manually create a Row Movement sheet to give to the forklift drivers to perform the assigned movements.
1) is it possible SAP to do automate this task?
2)Can SAP logically determine this equation?
3) Is it possible SAP to generate this spreadsheet and go ahead and create the TO in the background?
Please do the need full ASAP, Quick response is highly appreciated .

Of course you can do this, but not with SQ based reports.
You will need to code a custom ABAP report.
First you will need to find best matches in storage bins, then use BAPI for TO creation.
You will easily have all the info from the source and destination bins from your matching
table/data. You can search forums for more info on this BAPI, but I can tell you it is pretty
easy to use even for an inexperienced ABAP-er.
I have created a report for this in my company a while ago, but didn't implement automatic
TO creation since we wanted to give our WH people freedom and didn't want to create a huge
amount of TOs which need to be cancelled if WH workers don't have time to perform this action.
But this is a great tool for any warehouse, especially with bulk non-mixed storage types with
a large number of bins.

How change Storage bin search logic in WM ?

Hi All,
Standard process to find bin during putaway in WM is as follow :
First find storage type, then storage section and finally storage bin type.
Is it possible to change slightly this logic as follow :
Find storage type first, then with first storage bin type find a bin in storage section sequence, if not found try to found with second storage bin type within storage section sequence and so on.
It's a kind of mix bewtween storage bin type search and storage section search.

OK, so you want it to check all storage sections for available bin type "A" and only then loop back around and check for bin type "B" from the first storage section again.
Storage bin type check is relative to the allowed Storage unit types per bin based on my understanding. During put away the system will check the allowed SUT in sequence based on your entries in your storage bin type search so it would loop within first storage section until it sees no available bin type that fits the allowed bin types (sequential) and only check second storage section (again sequential) when none of the allowed bin types are found available, so if I understand the available config options what you want is not possible without customization....check exit MWMTO003 - Customer-defined putaway strategy to create your own strategy

Need a program that will save the capacity settings for all storage bins

I would really apprecaite any help with a program I am trying to come up with.
What I need to do is create a program that:
1. Will save the capacity settings for all storage bins to
a file
2. Then update them all to allow unlimited capacity BUT be able to revert back to the
original that was saved.
Any suggestions about possible existig reports that I may be able to modify to suit my needs, or where to start from if I have to do this from scratch?

I know I'm talking about expensive apps, but having been in prepress for about 30 years now, I really don't look at anything other than Quark XPress or InDesign for page layout apps. Your printing vendor will also be much happier with you when you use these products. Some areas of the U.S. tend to be mostly Quark oriented; others, InDesign. Ask your vendor what they would prefer, and if there are any free or cheap alternative apps they'll accept documents from.
Apple's Pages app (part of iWork) is a decent page layout program, but hasn't been updated in four years. It also doesn't support CMYK. If you place a CMYK image in the app, it will export out an RGB version of it. Not good! You can work with RGB images if you prefer, but your CMYK translations will be left to the skill of the print shop you use to do the conversions.
Don't even think about using Word. It has what it calls a page layout option, and does pretty much work like one, but there's no good way to import it into a real layout app such as InDesign. You end up paying the printer for their time to rebuild your entire project in either XPress or InDesign so they can actually do something with it.

Hi,
Yard management (LE-YM) does not enter in the warehouse.
Therefore there is no destination storage bin relation.
On the other hand, there are capacity checks for trucks at location like door, staging area, parking spaces...

When doing MB1C error message says

I have maintained all movement types, storage location well. I have not created any storage Bin then why it is asking for this?

Thanks for your answer. My problem is different but I resolved it myself as under:
Log Execution->Shipping>Picking>Lean WM-->Define control parameter and no. Range....All three tabs were set.Here in check box I tick mark as Active Lean WM.
Then went to Control Plant /Storage location/Warehouse No Assignment
Here Plant/Storage Location/Warehouse were given
Degree of activation=1
store tye for picking in LWM=005
So Lean WM was activated. So in MB1c this error was disappeared as I had activated Lean WM.
But another error came "There is no item category assigned to account 799999/4050" This is related to field status group in G/L account but still not solved.I am missing Commitment Item in tab Create/Bank/Interest in my G/L account. I tried to run program RM07CUFA in SE 38 saying error No MM group in 3 tabs but could not further identified.
Above issue was resolved sothread is closed.

check the movement type configuration which is used. So u can find what storage bin is used for the particular movement type.
If not existed create the interimbin.

Capacity control in storage bin for material

Hello,
I am trying to set up following scenario: I want to set the capacity of storge bin for material for example 16547. For one storage bin fit only 200 pieces of material 16547. So I set this in material master WM2 tab. Then I order 400 pieces, TR is generated, then I want to create TO in background, but it display error: Maximum quantity for storage bin will be exceeded. Then I have to create TO in foreground and confirmation 2 times.
So my question is: is there any way to set up that TO will be created in background and confirmed one time?

a TO split will not be triggered by remaining capacity, never.
The TO split has to happen earlier, SAP is always trying to putaway the entire quantity of a single TO item into one bin. Hence you need to have many TO items.
This is controlled by Palletization (WM2 view).
If you get 200 on one pallet, the enter 200 in WM2 view and SAP will give you 2 TO items if you receive 400.

While in MIGO transaction, trying to post goods receipt with movement type 561, the system gives the error :

How can I fix this error ?

I had the exact same error yesterday, still I haven't figure it out yet.
I can add that you must have that storage location connected with WM, and there's something wrong in this integration.

Problem in capacity check

Hi guys,
We want to use capacity check functionality in WM. I have done all configuration. We have given capacity as 1,000 kg for the bin type.
In material master, weight is given as 50 kg. It is accepting goods receipt upto 20 nos. it is fine upto this.
if we do migo for 30 nos, what we expect is, 20 nos should go to bin-1 and 10 nos should go to bin-2. But it is giving error that, bin capacity is exceeded.
how to achieve this functionality? Do we need to activate addition to existing stock for this?

Hi,
When you create the TO you make palletization - based on settings on WM2 view of the material master or you can do it manually (override the master data setting or w/o any master data setting).
During TO creation SAP considers the quantity you defined during palletization (e.g. 30 kg) and wants to place this quantity into a storage bin.
So, you have to define the proper quantities during palletization You cannot set SAP - as per my best knowledge - to change this (split the defined quantity) during determination of destination bin.

Capacity check in wm

I have been working on few strategies in putaway. One of the storage type which uses open storage strategy with mixed, addition to existing are allowed. With capacity check based on material. I have issue at time of creating transfer order. please consider the below case and explain me how to get rid of this error.
For eg: Material , capacity usuage 1.0
total capactity of bin 100.
Goods receipt for 110 quantity ,
At time of creating TO based on material document the system gives error " No destination storage bin to be found in strage type". I thought system will put 100 in one bin and rest 10 quantities in another bin but it doesn't happen.
If i receive quantity 100 or lesser than this quantity system proposes the bin number based on the storage type and storage section search.

I found that the system is searching for the right bins as per the section indicator. since the capacity is low it gives error"no destination bin found". These bins are empty.
scenario:
when the goods receipt is for 120 ea..
material capacity usuage : 1
bin capacity : 100.
for the above scenario , is it possible to split these quantity in such a way that the system puts 100 in one bin and 20 in another bin.

More than one Quant in a Storage bin section (Strategy P)

Dear all,
We have a Storage type with Putaway strategy P, the SUT check active but no SU Management active, Mixed storage = X and Addition to stock = X.
For this Storage type, our Storage bin type and SUT we have set up in customizing a Bin sectioning 3 meaning the Storage bin is divided into 3 sections so a maximum of 3 Quants per Storage bin. Note that other Bin sectionings have also been set up.
During testing I found out a Storage bin section can only contain one Quant at a time.
Because of Addition to stock = X we can add more quantities of the same Material/Batch to a Storage bin secion that already contains stock of this particular Material/Batch.
If I try to add a Material/Batch to a Storage bin section that already contains stock of another Material/Batch (so, a different Quant), the system gives me an error:
Bin item X in storage bin Y already occupied
Message no. L3063
Now physically for the mentioned SUT our Storage bin is divided into 3 Storage bin sections/pallet places and on a pallet it should be allowed to put multiple Materials/Batches at a time, that is why we set Mixed storage = X in customizing.
Now we can only put one Quant (so one Material/Batch) in a Storage bin section at a time;
We want to be able to put more Quants into a Storage bin section at a time.
How can we achieve this?
Note we rather donu2019t want to use Storage Unit Management.

Hi Bart,
As a thumb rule you cannot have one quant with multiple Materials. Ofcourse you can keep on adding same material /batch is the same quant i.e. in the same Bin section where you already put the material.
Quick win for your case is Increase the number of quants allowed say 15. In this case you can keep on storing different material / batches on the same pallet but system will keep on generating sections.
At any point of time you can easily track how many quants (Mat + quantity) are stored in that Bin & relevant section.
For strategy P , SUT check must be activated you cannot skip it.
If Business is not ready to work with more number of sections , you can always think of mapping another startegy ..you could do more test with Bulk Storage.
To my knowledge Strategy I i.e. Addition to existing stock with Mixed storage Indicator will work very well here.
You just need to map appropriate Capacity check as startegy I goes with active capacity.

SAP WM -Capacity check

Help me to solve this issue.Iam trying to do stock palcement for a material whose Base UOM is Each and Odering UOM is "CAR", CAR=12 EA.Iam trying to place the material intially in the fixed bin ,if the fixed bin is full place in the rack area.
Iam using capacty indicator "4" (based on article) for the rack area, defined capacity usage as "1" in the material master and Total capacity as 500 in the storage bins. when i receive 50 cartons means 600 EA ,i expect 480 EA (40 cartons) to be placed in the first bin and the remainaing 120 EA (10 cartons) in the next bin .But system is throwing the error " Bin capacity is too low ".
when enough empty bins are avialbel y the system throws this errors.
The problem is if all the quantity can't be fit in the fixed storage bin due to its capacity then the remaining has to be put in a rack area.
Is the system to be enough intelligent to split the suitable quantity in two parts in order to fill completly the fix storage bin and the remaining to another storage bin.
Help me to solve the issue.

Hi Kumar
Hope you are using Near Picking Bin putaway strategey. If so, you can choose Capacity Check method in storage type as "3 - Check based on maximum quantity per bin in storage type"
As system will check the maximum quantity defined, available quantity in the bin and suggest suitable overflow/reserve bin and not fixed bin
If bin quantity is less than maximum quantity defined in master level and putaway quantity is well within the maximum quantity, system will suggest Fixed bins
