Storage space issues after purchasing additional storage

While downloading daughters 4th movie on iPad, a note comes up saying insufficient space need to manage your storage. So I delete some of the apps she wasn't using, that wasn't enough so I purchased her an additional amount. Still problems! Help please

You have purchased iCloud storage, that has nothing to do with your iPad storage. Contact with iCloud support to get a refund > http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact
You have to delete more things from the device if you want to watch the movie. Open Settings > General > Usage, and delete data that you don't need or want

    Just wanted to update the community on my exciting adventure to fix my ipad;
I made my way over to the Apple Store here in South Florida and had my appointment with the geniuses. No one could figure this sucker out!  They did every thing they could think of to the ipad without success. Couldn't even tell me what the problem was. All were very nice about it, of course. I was told to wait a day while they contacted the great and powerful central genius(es) but apparently no one was home there since they never responded to the request for help.
Anyway, I will go back to the Apple Store one more time before I give in to the conclusion that my 3 year old iPad (original) is DOA

  • TS4009 Why do my photos not count in my storage forcing me to purchase additional storage plans?

I recently purchased my new iPad. I am a Realtor and I take tons of photos. I thought I would have massive storage available. I already upgraded once. Few weeks ago and now it is telling me I cannot take more pictures without upgrading again. I was forced to upgrade, but it makes no sense that I see I have space available , yet I need to upgrade. Also confused between photo stream and photos. any help is appreciated. The apple store is chaotic, loud, and overhelming.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
The photos you take on your iOS device will be added to photo stream, photo stream saves the last 30 days photos and up to 1000 photos. None of these photos count towards your storage allocation (free 5GB), nor can you purchase any more storage for photo stream.
I myself am a commercial estate agent, I find photo stream extremely useful. I'm not sure whether you are using it in the same way as I am, but I do not encounter any problems because of the storage available to me.

Unfortunately you can't, the additional storage belongs to your first account, you can't transfer it.

  • ICloud AppleID issues.... Can't purchase additional storage!

I have been having a ton of issues with AppleID's and the migration to iCloud....
I started with a working me.com account with one apple ID ([email protected]), a working itunes account with a second apple ID  (call it [email protected]) , and a third appleId with third email (call it [email protected])
iCloud setup forced me to "migrate" my me.com account before setting up a new iCloud account, but issues with the verification email did not allow me to do it with the same appleid as my itunes ([email protected]).  It did allow me to change the email to "[email protected]".
Then my itunesappleID ([email protected]) stopped working with the known password,  stopped accepting the correct info on challenge questions for a reset, and would not send reset info via email. Eventually hard-locking the account for trying to reset it too many times.
Now, for some unexplained reason, I can log into my itunes account with the new "[email protected]", which was never previously connected with the itunes account.
OK, so somehow apple seemed to migrate my old itunes account to the same appleid as my new iCloud account, perhaps because the email was listed as an "alternate" email on my me.com account (with me so far?)
Everything is MOSTLY working as it should, if I ignore what the heck actually happened behind the curtain and accept that Apple just seemed to cut off and merge multiple AppleID's even though they say they can not/ will not do that, but I have one remaining problem.
From my iPhone and iPad, I can log in to iTunes and iCloud using my new "[email protected]" appleID, but for some crazy reason, I can not purchase additional storage! Every time I try, it gives me the same new [email protected] appleId that now works for itunes and iCloud, asks me to reenter the password, and then gives me an error message, "your email address has changed or is invalid".

Any thoughts on what happened to my original itunes AppleID?
Why it changed to my new iCloud AppleId even though they where originally seperate?
And why iCloud allows the ID/password combination for everything but purchasing more storage?

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

  • How can I make extra storage on my phone when I have deleted any all data, pictures and files that I couldn't store in a dropbox and not have purchase additional storage?

how can I make extra storage on my phone when I have deleted any all data, pictures and files that I couldn't store in a dropbox and not have purchase additional storage?

Purchasing additional storage only applies to iCloud, not to the phone itself. You cannot purchase additional storage for the phone, only purchase a larger capacity phone. If you have deleted all of the content that you can, then that is all of the space that you have. What is it exactly that you are trying to do? Does this have to do with space for performing an OTA update of the iOS?

  • HT201318 i have purchased additional storage on incloud and cannot back up.  can anyone tell me why?

I have purchased additional storage from icloud and cannot backup.  Can anyone tell me why I cant backup?

Not being able to back up to iCloud can be caused by a corrupt existing backup that needs to be deleted, or by data on your device that is causing the backup to fail.  To troubleshoot these, try deleting your last iCloud backup (if you have one) by turning off iCloud Backup in Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup, then tap Manage Storage, tap your device under Backups, then tap Delete Backup.  Then go back and turn iCloud Backup back on and try backing up again.
If it still won't back up, you may have an app or something in your camera roll that is causing the backup to fail.  To locate which one, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your device under Backups, under Backup Options tap Show All Apps, then turn them all to Off (including camera roll) and try backing up again.  If the backup is successful, then the camera roll and/or one of your apps is causing the backup to fail and you'll have to located by process of elimination. Turn the camera roll On and try backing up again.  If it succeeds, turn some of your apps to On and try backing up again.  If it succeeds again, turn some more apps to On then try again; repeat this process until it fails.  Eventually you'll be able to locate the problem app and exclude it from your backup.

  • Purchase Additional Storage

All I want to do is purchase additional storage; so that I can SIMPLY share photos with selected family members. Not interested in the "Cloud" - whatever that is - how do I purchase additional storage without all the bells and whistles???

The Creative Cloud is applications, services and storage. Currently you cannot only purchase additional storage.
There are other photo sharing services such as Flickr and Picassa, plus many others.

So it sounds as if you are having an issue with iTunes quitting unexpectedly when you try to go in to purchase storage space for iCloud. I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

  • First cluster - Server 2012 r2 - storage spaces issues

    Hi Everyone
We just purchased two new servers (Lenovo RD640's) and an external SAS JBOD enclosure (the Lenovo SA120), and we would like to set up a 2012 r2 failover cluster with clustered storage spaces as the shared storage.  Currently they are
on their own domain with the virtual active directory server residing locally on one of the servers.
Preface: I've created and destroyed the cluster and storage spaces multiple times trying to solve this issue, so I don't know if I may have "leftovers" from those attempts now causing issues for me.
I can create the cluster, and it passes validation, and can create a clustered storage pool, but every time I try to create a virtual disk (either through the Failover cluster manager, the server manager, or powershell), it won't attach.  If
I try to manually attach it I get the message: "Error attaching or detaching virtual disk: Failed to attach virtual disk to <node name>. Access denied"
Finally (and I don't know if this is related or not), when in storage spaces on the server manager, there is a gold banner at the top that says "Incomplete communication with cluster <cluster name>. The following cluster nodes or clustered roles
might be offline or have connectivity issues: <cluster name>"
I'm logged in with full domain administrator credentials, and have been running my head against this wall for a few days now.  Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks for your responses. Here is what I have to report:
When I destroy the cluster, and create the storage spaces on just one of the two servers (with the other server powered down), I'm able to create the storage pool - using all the HDDs and SSDs - and virtual disks (both tiered and non-tiered) without issue.
As soon as I create the cluster again, the virtual disks become "detached", and I'm back to the situation described initially.
@Apamnapat, here's the output of the powershell commandlets you suggested:

  • IMovie, iDVD storage space issues

I have transferred many clips from my cam-corder to iMac.  I am now nearly exhausted for storage space.  Am open to any suggestions for strategies that will recapture additional storage capacity on this machine.  I thought of simply dumping the relevant video clips to the Trash Can after creating a disc (via iDVD); with the intent to subsequently bring the video back into iMovie from that very same disc so that I can fine tune the product with editing of themes; text; graphics; music etc. In other words, shuffle the product back and forth between disc and machine as my editing interests dictate.  Don't know if these tasks can be accomplished as I have described.  Surely there must be other strategies out there that I can explore to save valuable space on this machine???
    Message was edited by: SandyBill

If you want to re-edit iMovie projects in the future, you will have to save the entire project & associated clips. While burning the clips to data DVDs sounds inexpensive & appealing, it is very time consuming, as each data DVD only holds about 20 minutes of captured clips and you're stuck with burn times, which are much slower than copying the files to an external firewire drive
So, it's time for a good external firewire hard drive (take a look at the Lacie d2 Extreme drives, for example).
And while it is technically possible to re-import video from a playable DVD such as ones you burn with iDVD, there is a significant loss of quality when you do the back conversion. Plus, you won't be able to 'shuffle the product back and forth between disc and machine as my editing interests dictate' because your editing commands are not preserved forward when you go from iMovie > iDVD > playable DVD. If you want to do that, you need to preserve your full iMovie project and associated video clips and other source media files.
