Assuming that you are following the written instructions available at http://docs.oracle.com that walk you through the install. And assuming you installed the correct versions of libraries. And assuming you set permissions correctly.
I'd suggest metalink and opening an SR.
If you didn't follow the docs ... rm -rf would be a good place to start.

  • Strange Errors from Import Server on Schema-based maps for repeating nodes

I have already posted one thread about this, but perhaps some more in-depth information is required:
We have uploaded our schema into the console, and have mapped the following multi-node file to it:
    CUSTOMER <repeating node>
      MDM_CUST (new Customer number returned)
CUSTOMER(mapped back from XI for RECORD MATCHING)
      CREATE_DATE (text field)
      CONTACT<repeating node>
        CONTACT_NO (RECORD MATCHING : NON-QUALIFIER)
        CONTACT_SAP_NO (QUALIFIER)
[NOTE: There are other qualifers for CONTACT, but only this one
qualifier is being returned and is the only field that would and should be updated.
The other fields should be left alone. However, it appears to overwrite EVERYthing
with NULL other than these two fields. The CONTACT_NO is the sole qualifer on
the table. It is a calculated field that equals the Auto-ID that is also produced on
the table - but obviously not mapped.]
      PARTNER<repeating node>
        CUSTOMER_NO (RECORD MATCHING : NON-QUALIFER)
PARTNER_FUNC (NON-QUALIFIER - Code given to lookup from PARTNER_FUNCTION table which has Code and Desc)
        PARTNER_NO     (NON-QUALIFIER)
        DEFAULT_PARTNER_FLAG (QUALIFIER)
    <CLOSE CUSTOMER NODE>
In the Customer main table, all records are matched on CUSTOMER. The CONTACT_NO non-qualifer is matched to the CONTACT qualified lookup table directly since it is the only available non-qualifier. For the PARTNER table, the three qualifiers are mapped and then a compound field is created to map to the PARTNER table entry.
We have the Configurations set at:
    Default Multi-Valued Update: Replace
    Default Qualified Update: Replace
    Default Matching Qualifiers: None
Our record matching is: Create / Update(ALL MAPPED FIELDS) / Update(ALL MAPPED FIELDS)
When the map is reused, the repeating nodes are all recognized, be it one node or many. However, when the map is reused, it does not automatically map the values for many of the Partner fields (nor the compound field) though the fields are correctly mapped.
Also, when we attempt to use Import Server to automate the mapping, we use the mdis.ini set to
    Automap Unmapped Value=True
    Unmapped Value Handling=Add
    Always Use Unmapped Value Handling=False
We get a very strange error saying that :
[code]Encountered a pre-SP4 map. The map needs to be upgraded to SP4.
Solution: Please, Launch the Import Manager GUI using the same source file and simply save the map.[code]
Could it be that our MDM 5.5 SP4 is not compatible with schemas generated with XI v.7 SP9?
All of our MDM is 5.5 SP4. It makes no sense that we would get THIS kind of error. Also, I am questioning our combination of these and other configurations since it doesn't always seem to do what it should

    Hi Donald,
this sounds good so far. Just a short hint: you've set "Default Qualified Update: Replace". This explains why Import server "appears to overwrite EVERYthing
with NULL other than these two fields.". The reason is the replace. A replace means that the old values are completely deleted and only the new incoming ones are stored. I'd suggest to use any of the Update possibilities.
Note: the definitions you set in in the record matching step are mainly for the new records in the main table! Records in qualified look ups are handled differently! If you open your map in Import Manager, switch to tab "Map Fields/Values". Select a field that is your non qualifier. Right-Click on it and choose "Set qualified update" from the context menu. Now you can define which qualifiers can be used for the qualified look up matching. And you can define as well what should happen with new and/or existing records.
Regarding the value mapping: do you use keymapping? Or do you use simple values only? Do you save the map everytime you add a new value mapping?
Regarding the issue "Encountered a pre-SP4 map. The map needs to be upgraded to SP4. Solution: Please, Launch the Import Manager GUI using the same source file and simply save the map". This sounds very likely like a bug in MDIS and should be reported to SAP!
    Hope that helps

  • Separate Apps ... Separate App Server Installations?

We are purchasing Oracle App Server. Can 2 separate applications utililize a single installation of App Server? If not, can the separate installations either be on 2 separate physical servers or 2 virtual servers?
    Thanks

Thanks for your response - I'll try to be more clear.
We have 2 applications - App A and App B. Each uses Oracle Application Server (OAS) AKA Internet Application Server (IAS). We have Server1 with OAS/IAS installed on it. Can App A and App B each use the OAS/IAS installation on Server1 or does App A need to run on Server1 and App B on Server2?

  • Hardware Detection Problem (maybe) with App Server Installer

When i try to install the App Server, it tells me that I need at least 256 MB of RAM installed and does not allow me to install it. I have 1024 MB of RAM installed (PC2100 DDR).
Any idea how I can get around this?
I'm using the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.0 kernel distributed from the Red Hat FTP server.
    Thanks

AS 9.0.2 is not certified on RHEL 3. And since the platform is newer than the product you could expect some problems.
Perhaps you could try to install AS 9.0.4 (the "10g" one).

  • NetBeans error restarting app server

I'm using NetBeans 5.0 and Sun App Server 8.2
In NetBeans when I click "run project" it tries to redeploy the application and always fails.
Deploying application in domain failed; Could not rename C:\Sun\AppServer\domains\domain1\applications\j2ee-apps\ProjectName to C:\Sun\AppServer\domains\domain1\applications\j2ee-apps\ProjectName_old
I have to then manually stop the app server then "run project" again.
It just takes ages and is really annoying, any ideas how to fix it?
    Thanks a heap!
Just to mention I also posted this question yesterday on JavaRanch with no response
    http://saloon.javaranch.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=12&t=003805

I had already run the update center.
I just did it again and added all of the new modules
    and still no luck :(
It's not a major problem but it does slow me down a
heapI try to reproduce the issue and I can't.
Could you please provide more information about your enviroment:
    - OS
    - Hardware
What kind of enterprise application you develop?
    Thanks,

I'm tyring to execute a java web application called myfirstjsp.
    In directory ...\myfirstsjp I've got:
    - index.jsp
    - WEB-INF dir
    - META-INF dir.
I can run myfirstjsp from NetBeans if I choose the Netbeans default server, Tomcat 5.0.19 (this web server is configured to port 8084).
However, when I try to execute myfirstjsp from NetBeans with Sun Java System Application Server 8(configured to port 8080), it gives me an annoying message:
The Sun Java System Application Server 8 could not start.
More information about the cause is in the Server log file.
    Possible reasons include:
    - Port conflicts. (use netstat -a to detect possible port numbers already used by the operating system.)
    - Incorrect server configuration (domain.xml to be corrected manually)
    - Corrupted Deployed Applications preventing the server to start.(This can be seen in the server.log file. In this case, domain.xml needs to be modified).
I checked port conflicts but none found.
The other two options don't give me a place to start (I don't know what to do with domain.xml)
    I'm working with:
    - Windows XP Pro
    - J2SE 1.4.2_04 (installed in C:\Program Files\j2sdk1.4.2_04)
    - Sun Java Application Server 8 (installed in C:\Program Files\Sun\AppServer)
    - Netbeans 3.6 + Sun Java System Application Server Plugin (installed in C:\Program Files\NetBeans3.6).
My PC has the following environment variables:
    PATH(in user MGoncalv)=C:\Program Files\Sun\AppServer\bin;,?ut
    PATH(system variable)=C:\Program Files\j2sdk1.4.2_04\bin;D:\ProgramFiles\OraReportNT\bin;C:\OraHome92\bin;C:\Program Files\Oracle\jre\1.3.1\bin;C:\Program Files\Oracle\jre\1.1.8\bin;%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files\Personal Communications\;C:\Program Files\IBM\Trace Facility\;%SystemRoot%\system32\nls;%SystemRoot%\system32\nls\ENGLISH
    CLASSPATH(system variable)=.;C:\OraHome92\jdbc\lib\ojdbc14.jar
By looking at the Sun App Server log file, I discovered that the log outputs of
    - Start Default Server (a link in the folder created by the installation of Sun App Server)
    - and trying to execute myfirstjsp from NetBeans through Sun App Server
    are very similar.
Below is a piece of server.log when I tried to execute myfirstjsp from NetBeans through Sun App Server. Please, pay attention to the EJBC error:

Is this EJB compilation error normal ? if not what does it mean ? Sun Java App Server installation isn't OK ?
I tried to look into the Sun App Server Troubleshooting, searched forums... but couldn't squeeze any valuable info from any of them.
If you have any sugestion regarding this problem, or you know some web site that addresses it please tell me !
    Many thanks,
    Miguel

I seem to have the same problem, I cant run sun application server 8.1. The server is in c:\sun\appserver\, I am using netbeans 4.1. I recieve the same comment above:
The Sun Java System Application Server 8 could not start.
More information about the cause is in the Server log file.
    Possible reasons include:
    - Port conflicts. (use netstat -a to detect possible port numbers already used by the operating system.)
    - Incorrect server configuration (domain.xml to be corrected manually)
    - Corrupted Deployed Applications preventing the server to start.(This can be seen in the server.log file. In this case, domain.xml needs to be modified).
I cant see any port conflict, the server is set to port 4848. I dont know about any configurations.
    This is the Exception:

  • Office web Apps server Lync 2013

    Hi All,
I have logged onto my Volume licensing site and could not search Office Web Apps servers for download?? I wonder how do i download it?

    Hi channavera,
Office Web Apps Server was removed from the Microsoft Download Center.  Now it only was available for
download under Volume Licensing agreements.  For more information please read the FAQ below or visit the site Volume Licensing
    Service Center.
    FAQ
Why is Web Apps Server being removed from the Microsoft Download Center?
VLSC is best suited as the location from which to serve all customers according to their agreements with Microsoft.
What about existing installations?  Do I need to re-license them?
No.  Web Apps Server installations and/or downloads that occur before 11/24/14 will continue to be licensed for free viewing.
Will there be an evaluation version for Developers and IT Pros?
Evaluation availability will continue on MSDN for subscribers.  Additionally, Volume License agreements allow for product evaluation.

  • THE REPORT SERVER INSTALLATION IS NOT INITIALIZED (rsReportServer NOT ACTIVATED)

HI ,i had my report server on SQL SERVER 2005,and for
reporting service i am using the sql server reporting services 2008R2,i created a report which i am supposed to display in Website ,i
created the rdl using the BIDS 2008 and , its throwing me an error because my report server is in 2005 and my rdl is in 2008 and i was using it in VS2008 Report viewer control,i was told that i am supposed to create rdl in 05 in order to get
it run ,but i dont want to create another one since it was pretty big and took lot of time to design it
Is there any way i can use the same rdl with that report server ,one of my collegue told that i can do in one way (using  catalog of SQL server 2008 Reporting in sql server 2005 report server database i did'nt get that much as iam not aware of that
catalog stuff .and i tried to configure the report server once again and i am getting this new error

  • Sizing for NW2004s 7.0 App server

    Hi All
This is regarding the sizing req's for SAP NW2004s (7.0) app server which is required for the installation of GTS. I am going through the req's for a new implementation of GTS 7.1 for a very small user group ( Less than 10) on AIX with Oracle.
I have been told that the initial estimates for the server HD size cam up to 75 gb each for the DEV and QA and this apparently includes the app+db.
I am not familiar with the quicksizer and someone else arrived at this number. I doubt that 75 gb for an ABAP+JAVA NW 7.0 install  would be sufficient to house the db and app and  am still reading through documentation to verify this.
Can someone who has gone through the NW app server installations clarify this and let me know if there is a breakup of file sizes for the Orcale and the SAP files for an NW 2004s app server install.
    Thanks
    Vic

Was this installation done on UNIX ?
:  nope System that I tell you is windows.
Do you have any breakup for the SAP sytem and the Database files (sapdata and teh log files) ?
:  BREAKUP ????  did you mean backup if "backup" is YES.
Does this account for the swap space and how RAM do you have on your system ?
: for RAM I have on my system is 9GB but I can install 3 instance(SID) and DB in one Server
maybe we can share Exp. in how to tuning for best performance next time
