Strange non-english glyphs/letters appearing after changing font

Hi, hope you can help me... I am in InDesign CS5.5 using Universal Type Client, and working in Garamond. When I changed the font to Bembo, several letters would substitute for single characters. They look Russian or something. Any thoughts? Thanks!

What characters? Is it possible you are looking at ligatures in Bembo that don't exist in your Garamond. There are a lot of Garamonds out there, and I would suspect that many of the older, non-unicode, versions don't have ligatures. The same might apply to the Bembo, of course, but if you are going from an old Type 1 font to a new OpenType font, you might easily see ligatures suddenly appear.

I use "Export" function to convert the picture from RAW format to JPEG format, resolution 240 pixels per inch. Strange red dots appeared in the area supposed to be dark grey, as per the picture below. The red colour does not appeared in the original RAW picture when viewing from Lightroom, only exist in the JPEG it created. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks!

Warning appears after changing the load properties of BW iview

Hi,
   I get a warning "Object Expected" after changing the load property category of BW report iview.
Allow Client-Side caching (BrowserOnly) <- (Yes)
Cache Level (Session) <- (None)
   How to remove this warning message? This does not happen for webdynpro iviews.

Computer is slow to respond when mouse is clicked and typed letters appear after a delay of several seconds

When I type or start to type the characters appear after a delay. Scrolling up and down and clicking on some tabs or links is very slow.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the sessionstore.js [2] file and possible sessionstore-##.js [3] files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

HT201320 Gmail (non)Access on IPhone 4 after changing password on-line

I changed the password on my Gmail account on-line, due to the Heartbleed Bug (per Google/Gmail instructions), and have changed the password for my gmail on my i phone (4), but it will no longer allow me to receive my gmail on my phone, because it says my password is incorrect. ??? It keeps sending me back to the same page in Settings where I would re-enter my gmail password, which I've done, several times, and rebooted my phone, and still can no longer receive mail on my phone. I can get into my account on-line, using my new password.
Any suggestions?

I Had this problem on my Ipad. I went to mail, contacts, calendars under settings. Then I deleted the Gmail account. Next I added it under add account. Essentially I reinstalled it there by choosing Google and then filling out all the other specs. And putting in my new password. During some parts of this you have to click on done. Arrow yourself back to see that it is as you want it. Done! I had to do this on each of my i pads as well....the ipad mini too.

i use pci-6033E daq card. it works very well in my old computer. however,after i put it into a new computer,the vi which i used on my old computer do not work anymore. when i execute the vi program,labview will search subvi and show "PolyVi'Ai Acquire Waveforms.vi' is missing".

When you installed that card in your new computer did you install NI-DAQ? If so, did you install LabVIEW support for NI-DAQ? It sounds like the LabVIEW support may not be installed. The best way to find out is in LabVIEW to check and see if you have the data acquisition palette. It sounds like it might be missing. If that is the case, modify your installation of NI-DAQ to include support for LabVIEW.

Strange folder called "System Folder" appeared after installing Appleworks?

I started from scratch and wiped the drive, due to bad system symptoms. I installed OSX WITHOUT OS9 CLASSIC. Everything is working fine, printer drivers, internet, all apps etc. But I decided to install Appleworks. I chose from the reinstall choices to select Appleworks, but did not select Classic at all at anytime. I just discovered besides the OSX system folder with its distinctive design, that there is now another folder named System Folder, but it has no system and only Application Support, Extensions, Fonts, and help as folders. This looks like OS9 without a system. Was this installed for Appleworks?, as I remember from OS 9 Appleworks needs to install stuff in a system folder. Is that why this is here? Is this normal, The "System Folder" was locked. Should I do anything to this, delete it, rename it or what. Command info says that it belongs to system, not me, and it defaults to locked. I can unlock it, but to change its ownership, admin password is needed. I thought everything was going well, now this questionable stuff shows up, and enlightenment would be appreciated, as I just spend days fixing it all up, and don't want more trouble, especially so soon. Thanks for the simple answer. I guess I was surprised to see another folder called system, and it kind of scared me, wondering if everything was "Kosher" with my reinstallation of OSX?, yet I didn't want to adversely effect Appleworks.
I merely put the files in the trash, then tested Appleworks, it still works, so I believe I can trash the whole folder without worry. I was worried and not thinking correctly, having spent sleepless nights installing all the stuff back again, and that clouds my thinking and judgment. James

Report printing in Greek characters after changing Font

Hi All,
We had a bunch of reports created in 'Courier New' font whose output type is PDF. The users wanted the reports to print in 'Arial' font. When I changed the same from Courier New to Arial and ran the report , the report is printing in Greek characters instead of English. I initially thought that it prints in Greek may be because of insufficient space or something for the text fields but there seems to be sufficient spaces to print characters. I tried reducing the size and still the reports prints in Greek in lower size.
Can anyone let me know how to get rid of this?

I am working on my thesis and I have to have all of my fonts embedded. I used Latex to create a pdf/ps and now I am trying to figure out how to get the fonts embedded.
From what I have read, acrobat and distiller can do this. When I run the ps through distiller, it embeds all my fonts but Times and Helvetia. So I tried running the pdf through acrobat. I used the preflight tools to embed all fonts, which works but after a letters like i, l and t are all missing from my document.
Anyone know how to fix this. I have to have all my fonts embedded. Any way to do this or help would be much appreciated.

No, that particular menu is specific to Acrobat. Even though I'm using the Touchup Text tool, the TouchUp Text menu doesn't want to come up properly. Anyone know how this could happen? Any suggestions to fix it?

'Chinese letters' printed instead of non-english chars

I use a cmd in which i execute the java programs i have developed... Whereas , i write non-english(greek) letters in my source programs the cmd does not display them....only 'chinese letters or non-understandable symbols'...
Of course... i can write greek letters in the cmd....
Is there something that i can do except for writing the messages with english/latin ...chars???

Photos on photo page not appearing after republishing to ftp site

A photo template page (9 photos) created in iWeb used to appear online along with my other pages when published to an ftp site. However, after changing a few of the photos, none of the photos appear after republishing. The page appears as a menu, but no photos.
I've recreated the photo page using iWeb's template, but to no avail. The photos are about 150KB each. Any suggestions? My next step would be to create a photo page without using iWeb's template for photos.

It was likely FTP because when I was online chatting with an FTB service rep hours after republishing the site, the photos all of a sudden appeared.
At any rate, I very much appreciate your time. Now if I just figure various other things, like why a photo on one of my pages also appears in a text box on the same page! Had to replace the text box with a pdf file to get the text to appear. Strange stuff.

Acrobat 9 Pro: fields deleted after changing compatibility of Acrobat for 4.0

I have pdf's with many of fields in which I need to change compatibility on Adobe 4.0.
When I try to do this (Save as optimized pdf with the option selected "make compatible with" on "Adobe 4.0 or later") program delete all of fields.
This problem appears after changing OS from Win XP on Win 7 Enterprise 64-bit.
Earlier I didn't have that problem.
I will be grateful for any help, reinstalling Adobe has not helped and I did not find any clues on the internet.

Unfortunately I can not share this documents.
However, I noticed that only some of them have above problem. Now I have only to find its cause - changing the OS wasn't the cause of this problem.
