Strange Viewing and Sizing

Hello, can anyone help?
I have Photoshop CC and it's doing strange things! When I open an image I cant see the image at all, just the grey pasteboard.
I have to go into FULL SCREN MODE before anything shows up but even then the image only shows at the very bottom of the screen.
Also VIEW > FIT ON SCREEN only allows the image to show up really tiny on the screen.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Strange thing noticed with a view and group by

Hi all, Could anybody please tell me what could be the problem if you have come across it ever.
I am using a view which is fetching 4 million rows from another db thru a dblink. In the view query this data is joined with two other small temporary tables and the output is taken out.
The whole process is like this...
1.Create the two temporary tables..
2. Alter the view to compile;( as these temporary tables are dropped after the whole process)
3. insert into the target table using another query by taking the data from the VIEW
4. drop the temporary tables.
All these are in a single script.
In the insert statement I use a group by in the select statement to produce sum of three columns.
the ideal output is as giiven below:
total rows= 4.7 million.
after the group by i should get 293,356 rows( i tested it after taking all the rows from the view into my db and did a group by on it with the required columns)
Now the group by is done directly by taking the data from the view and inserting into the final table.
When i ran the script for the first time I got this 293,356 rows... The second time I ran it gave me only 73090 rows. But the sum total of those 3 columns are exctly same as that of 293,356 rows. I donot change the number of columns in group by or anything like that... what i am doing is just running it again....
Can anybody tell me why it gives different number of rows at different times when the same script is run without any changes...( There is no difference in the original number of rows too..)

Way not enough information.
Assume you have Oracle to Oracle connection here (with your DB link). What version are BOTH databases on. No idea what the view looks like, or how you use it, or what these 'temporary tables' you create on the fly do.
Can you put together a small example of this which recreates your problem? We don't have your tables, your script, your ability to run queries and check things, so there's really not much anyone can do to help you with this.
The simplest explanation is usually the correct one, so although it's possible you've hit an internal Oracle bug, i'd put my money in there being a flaw in your processing, it's where the safe money is. Though there could be a bug with view merging, or the DB link, or .....

Strange view with iOS 8 devices

Hi there,
with our iOS 8 devices the SharePoint 2010 delivers a stange view. The content stays the same, but the horizontal and vertical navigation look strange. Some items in the horizontal navigation cannot be clicked.
Look at this screenshot. On the top you can see the broken view with iOS 8 devices. Below is the normal view. How can I achieve the normal view for all devices? I tried disabling all mobile views, but iOS 8 devices still get this strange view.

I know that this thread already has an "answer" posted, but we have this issue on our public facing website, so it was difficult to be able to tell people they need run in desktop mode and so the hunt continued. In this stackoverflow thread, they
talk about what the actual problem is (long story short is this new version of iOS 8 has safari version of 600, which is being captured and misinterpreted in the mozilla.browser file as version 60 instead of 600 - full description here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/25978746/ios-8-safari-8-not-working-with-asp-net-ajax-extensions).
So what this means is you have to either make the correct fix in the mozilla.browser file (which isn't recommended by Microsoft) or you go in and extend the Safari60 id (which is the one that grabs the iOS 8 browser) in the compat.browser file. When taking
this approach, since you don't seem to be able to have multiple parentIds in a browser element, is you will need to inherit the Safari60 element the way that it describes in the stackoverflow article by doing something like this:

Hope this helps anyone else who is having this problem and hopefully in the future it won't be needed because MS will fix the original mozilla.browser file to not mistake a version of 600 as 60.

FCE un synching vid/aud between Viewer and Canvas 3 secs out in 20 sec clip

I'm new to FCE having moved across from Vegas Video.
Working through the Izzy FCE Tutorial.
Starts with a 20 second HD clip that works great in the Viewer.
Drag video to time line and it looks OK except the audio is waaaaay out of wack. In a 20 second clip FCE is 3 seconds out of synch by the end of the clip.
I must have done something freaky here but I have searched and searched but cannot find an option to un synch audio/video.
Also other weird stuff.
If I have 6 clips in the browser, drag each one to the Viewer, set the In and Out drag the first one to the timeline and subsequent ones to the the Canvas/Overwrite.
Only the first clip will show until I start playing the first clip in the timeline then all the others then suddenly pop up.
Also, Edit/Undo has an accelerator of CMD Z, nope that doesn't do anything.
If I set the edit point in the timeline mid clip, then drag a new clip from the Viewer to the Canvas and select insert, it inserts the video at the edit point but puts the audio somewhere completely different. The Audio timeline shows the audio in the right place but when you play it is randomly placed earlier in the timeline.
This is all very strange indeed and leaves a noob to FCE well and truly confused.
I'll try another reboot. But this puppy is looking like it may be going back to the Apple shop.

What exactly are the specifications of your clips? How did you get them into FCE?

Sounds like you don't have the timeline set to fit to window Shift-Z.

Strange: titleContent and navigationContent slinding to wrong position...

If i call some other view from my mainview, at first all works fine.
When i navigate back to ma mainView:
navigator.popToFirstView();
the calling view is sliding away (to the right)... but the titleContent and the navigationContent of the firstView are sliding together with that 2nd view and hold at the middle of the view. It looks a little bit strange.
Is this a bug, or a feature? Or do i anything wrong?

Did really noone had this problem before? I dont know, what im doing wrong...
I load the second view with:
navigator.pushView(Settings);
I go back with:
navigator.popToFirstView();
But with this behavior, i cant ship my app ... Is there a workaround or an other way to show/hide the second view?
P.S.: If i flip the device, all will be painted fine.

Strange viewing behaviour on score page view on Logic 7.2.0 on MacBookPro

I recorded some sequences in Logic 7.2.0 on my MacBookPro and, seeing them in page view mode, I get a strange viewing behaviour: the staffs continue going straight on overshooting the "white delimited page zone". If I try to zoom out I can't obtain the "more pages view" option normally obtained.
If I reopen this song on the logic 7.2.0 situated in my G5 all is fine. Why?

Guys, I think this problem has to do with the scale parameter of the instrument set being translated incorrectly on Intel/MPB (quite possibly affecting even the "ALL" instrument set, which has no adjustable parameters). Now, I don't have an Intel Mac or MBP, but based on my recent experiences in PPC and similar problems, plus what I've read here, I think I might be on to something...
I'm going to suggest that you guys who are having problems with staves going off the page to do the following test:
1) Open one of your problematic songs and view the score editor where the off-the-page staves are displayed
2) If you're using the "ALL" instrument set, read on. If not, go to #3 below.
ALL Instrument Set: if you're using this just to see a preliminary version of your score, close the score window, select ALL, and open the score editor. This forces the creation of a new instrument set. Do these staves go off the page? If not, you're good to go. But if they do go off the page...
a) go to your printer settings and make sure that you have valid settings there. This includes the printer type, page size, and scaling. If they're set to default values (like "most recent printer"), be sure to select an actual printer on your system.
b) open the Instrument Set parameters for the set that was created just before. Set the scale parameter to 200%, then make it 50%, then make it 100%. If my theory is correct, your music should now stay on the page.
3) If you're using a custom instrument set repeat steps a) and b) above. See if that clears up the problem.
I'd be curious to know if any of the above fixes the problem for you. Again, it's just a theory, but maybe it has legs...

Wrong position of objects / difference between editor view and browser view.

System info: Mac OS X 10.9, Muse 7.1 Build 329, Chrome, Safari and Firefox in the newest versions.
I use Muse since version 5 and this effect does exist 'til today (v7.1) without any changes.
Many times i have differences in the position of placed objects. But this missbehaviour is not realy logical. For example take a look to this illustration:
Left: Muse Editor, right: Browser (in this case its chrome, but the effect is identical in safari and firefox too)
Left you see one pixel space between the blue bar and the shadow (image-object). In the browser is the space bigger (2px). When i move the shadow-object in muse one pixel higher, then look this so:
The shadow is now within the bluebar. The position has changed in muse for 1 pixel, in browser around 7 pixels... i don't see, why.
Another example:
Left Muse Editor, right Browser... do you see the dramatic difference between?
I hope, this problem can be solved with a future version...

This variation is due to the difference in the layout of text between Design view and Preview, which is representative of the variations that exist between browsers, OSes, devices and individual versions of each of those.
It's impossible to reverse engineer the structure of the objects from the screenshots, but how the objects or individual sized and positioned relative to one another is key to understanding (and explaining) what you're encountering.
If you provide the URL for this page I'll attempt take a look at it and provide some guidance for how to achieve the effect you're looking for within the constraints inherent in working with live text on the web.
(In case you're not already aware, you can Publish to a free trial site on Adobe Business Catalyst at any time using the Publish button. Using trial sites on BC is very convenient, even if you don't plan to host the finished site on BC.)

White Viewer and Canvas screens in FC Studio & Not an Idiot

The viewer and canvas have apparently decided to flip to white and remain there. But first, they decided they'd rather display a strange, posterized/solarized version of whatever clip was loaded at the time.
Viewer prefs set properly to RGB
Background set to black.
Changing display prefs from millions to thousands then back again - fail.
Clean reinstall of FC Studio - fail.
QT test clip - 720x480, DV/DVCPRO - NTSC
Any ideas?

Of course. Reinstalling Apple software is the LAST thing we'd suggest. Well, it's the last thing I would suggest. It is almost always a complete waste of time for a long list of reasons but mainly for only one: unlike Windows apps, Apple software just doesn't work that way.

Debugging your particular issue is not going to be easy. Trying to figure out if it's FCP, QT, your graphics card, your monitor, or some other weird and obscure setting is a question, largely, of having a good feel for your system's behaviors and application inventory and history.
Stick with it, we're going to be asking you some really idiotic questions and asking you to perform some really lame tests.

Yes, people I work with use it, assistants fill the fields out for me. As far as I know there is no "Print Browser" option. Some folks have assistants copy and paste the info into text, csv or xml files. Since everthing has gone to meta tags, this approach is going the way of the electric spoon or feeding mayonnaise to Tuna.

Hello Raj,
SAP View can be further described as the view that is based on what is existing already in the SAP system. This view is generally used by SAP purchasing, MM people etc
CAD view is nothing but the replication of the model tree view in the SAP system. This is used by the design engineer and this view replicates only the parts that are actively displayed on the CAD tool window.

I went to "view" and "toolbars" and mistakenly unchecked the menu toolbar on Firefox how do I get it back?

I was trying to turn off some of the unused toolbars on Firefox on my husband's Windows laptop. I mistakenly unchecked the menu tool bar under "view" and "toolbars" Now I can't figure out how to get it back.

If the menu bar is hidden then press F10 or hold down the Alt key, that should make the "Menu Bar" appear
Go to "View > Toolbars" and check-mark "Menu Bar" with a click if you want to make that permanent

how can i view and apply new custom patterns without going to preset manager? i had this facility but have now lost it. i design patterns but am fairly new to photoshop. i used to be able to click on the drop down menu in patterns in the 'fill' box but cannot now do this. have i inadvertently clicked on something to turn this facility off? i now have to go to 'preset manager' and manually move my new design to the first box and click 'done' so that i can use it.

Which version of photoshop are you using?
After you define a custom pattern it should be added to the bottom of whatever patterns are already loaded.
For example, if you define a custom pattern and then go to Edit>Fill>Pattern, the newly defined pattern should have been added to the existing loaded patterns.

I am trying to open a website that is using Microsoft content viewer, and the page does not show. Any ideas on how to view this site using firefox. It works on IE.

I am participating in an online class whose website uses Microsoft Content Viewer to view the class content. The browser opens a new page, but nothing is there. At the top of the tab it says Microsoft Content Viewer, and nothing else. Can anyone tell me how to view my course using Firefox? I would prefer not to use IE, but it works there.

When originally creating the pdf, you would need to choose another pdf conversion setting. In Word if you use the pdf menu, change your settings there: Adobe PDF > Change Conversion Settings. I would use High Quality Print instead. If you use the File > Print method, click the Properties button next to the Adobe PDF printer selection.
For your already created form, you can change the file so your users will not encounter issues. In Acrobat 9, which hopefully is similar in process to 8: Advanced > Preflight > Profile tab > PDF/A compliance > Remove PDF/A information.(You'll have to unsecure your form first).

Difference between refresh of Report in Active Viewer and Active Studio BAM

We use the Oracle SOA Suite with BAM (on Linux) 10.3.2.0.
I have 2 questions:
1. We have made a report with several items and in Active Studio --> Select Report --> Edit mode --> I see the correct values for my report. When I open my report in Active Viewer I see data from yesterday. The report is not being refreshed. How can I change this, what is causing this difference between Active Viewer and Active Studio in Edit mode??
2. One of my items in my report always gives the message: opening (only in Active Viewer, in Active Studio/edit mode I can see the correct data).

Is your popup blocker turned off? I can only imaging that the popup blocker may be keeping the Live Data window from appearing and updating the dashboard. Active Studio doesn't do a Live update, but an update on report load.
