Streaming in fullscreen

Is there a way to stream video in fullscreen through Quicktime 7.2? Maybe that's just a stupid question and it's actually really easy but I can't figure it out. sorry if it's stupid.

You can only change the dimensions if the file is opened in the QuickTime Player.
Files that load in the browser window can't be resized.

  • IMac can't watch streaming Flash fullscreen w/o repeatedly going to sleep

This is not an Energy Saver System Preferences issue.
The machine is set to never sleep. However, whenever I watch streaming flash video full screen, the machine will put itself to sleep, usually within just a minute or two of the video being made full screen. You wake it up, and within 10-15 seconds, the machine will sleep itself again - repeatedly. I have already reset the SMU, but that hasn't solved the issue. Resetting the P-RAM has made no difference.
I'm not sure if this is a software issue, or, perhaps a hardware issue.
    Any ideas?

    UPDATE:
Full screen or not, it is still going to sleep.
    This is a hardware issue:

Not sure why machine is overheating. Vents seem clear of obstructions.
However, it seems so far to only be happening when I watch flash video.

  • Flash player will stop playing after a while, when viewing certain streams in fullscreen mode.

Hey, can you help me with this problem?
When I start vieweing certain video streams, such as this one http://www.animefreak.tv/watch/hentai-ouji-warawanai-neko-episode-1-online the player would play for a while, then suddenly lose sound, and after 5 seconds or so, it will stop playing.
If I click for pause, then play again it will work for a while, but it's very annoying and there's not much I can do about it.
    I have the same problem on 2 computers, with 2 different OS's (windows 7 & 8).

I suspect you are running into the bug that is described here:

I have the latest update of flash player (11.3.300.265) & firefox (13.01, also tried 14.0 beta)
EDIT: Forgot to mention that I have hardware acceleration disabled in both firefox and flash.

    Hi,
I had the same. Adobe blamed RealPlayer for the bug but that's not true. It's the protected mode. You have to turn it off via editing a file manually.

  • Mac Mini 2011 Fan is Noisy During Streaming Video

Mac mini 2011 2.3 GZ. When I watch Youtube streaming video fullscreen or video chat with someone on Skype, the fan kicks into high gear and gets really noisy. Fan gets to about 5200 rpm and CPU up to 75C. I don't get the heat or fan noise during avi/Quicktime/VLC playback, or an Skype, audio alone. I don't recall this on my 2009 Mac Mini. Is this normal?

  • Mid 2012 macbook pro glitching, freezing, overheating

Starting a few weeks ago, I noticed a change in my mid 2012 macbook pro. My laptop was losing charge EXTREMELY quickly, I would charge the laptop to 100%, and just an hour later (after not using it, but the lid closed and it was sleeping) it would be up to 60% charge, then when not in sleep and on, it would lose energy extremely quickly. I always make sure that unecessary background apps are not running--so that was not the problem. This problem went away after a week, but it was the first signal that something was wrong with my laptop.
Next, the laptop was having problems with waking up from sleep, I did an SMC reset and this problem was fixed.
After that, the laptop started glitching (static and banded lines on the bottom of the screen) and making this clicking noise when I was streaming video fullscreen on Netflix. I thought at first, that this was a problem with Silverlight, and reinstalled the silverlight plugin (several times). Then I noticed that the computer would glitch when I was streaming full screen on Netflix and picked up the laptop (moved it from a flat surface). This signaled to me that the problem was perhaps not software, but a hardware issue. I verified the disk and did a permissions report and neither were curative.
Further support that the problems are with hardware rather than hardware came to me when my computer presented itself with a fourth issue: the laptop, when being lifted or moved from a static surface, would sometimes freeze entirely and make the same clicking noise. This problem was not during fullscreen streaming, but had spread to when I was simply using more than one app at the same time (e.g. having Chrome and Word open together). When this happenend, the only solution would be to power down the computer and restart.
Finally, while sleeping with the lid closed in my backpack, I hear a whirring noise--I pick up the laptop and it was hot to the touch, overheating with the fans running on high speed.
I have no clue what is going on. I have taken the computer to my university's mac shop and they have suggested it is a logic board issue and I should give the computer in. I have scoured the forum for an answer of what is happening and am determined to find one. So I pose the problem to you--any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

  • Flash Playback Issues (atypical problem)

    Equipment/Software:
    - Late 2013 Macbook Pro Retina
    - Mavericks 10.9
    - Safari 7
    - Flash 13
    - All updates installed (OS X + software)
    Playback Issue:
Flash videos begin normally, but then the CPU jumps to about 110% within the first 10 seconds or so. After the CPU jump, video playback begins to stutter severely, making the content unwatchable. Audio playback doesn't appear to be affected. When the CPU jumps and the video begins to stutter, the webpage often freezes and I have to quit Flash via Activity Monitor to regain control (i.e., scrolling, clicking, etc.). This happens across browsers (Safari, Firefox, Chrome), although I use Safari almost exclusively.
This only affects some Flash videos, but not all of them. I have no idea why. The problematic videos play fine on my desktop PC, so it's not a problem with the website.
Perhaps this is a second problem, but I'm also unable to watch some Flash-based streams in fullscreen mode. When I click fullscreen, the video size remains the same, but it moves to the top-left corner of the screen while everything else turns to white. Again, on my desktop PC, I do not experience this issue at all; the exact same stream will adjust to fullscreen mode without issue. I have a 27" monitor on my desktop PC and a retina screen on my Macbook Pro.
    Attempted Solutions (Failed):
    - Uninstalling/reinstalling Flash dozens of times
    - Reset Safari
    - Clear PRAM
    - Repair Disk Permissions
    - Praying to non-existent deity
Something so simple effectively renders 70% of the internet useless. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello jferreir,
It sounds like you are unable to watch streaming flash based video in Safari despite some great troubleshooting. I would next use the troubleshooting from the following article to help resolve the issue:

  • Streams doesn't work in fullscreen

    Hi there,
I've getting this problem on android firefox, both beta or stable versions have this bug.
It is all about Livevshare, castasap, castnowhd and other services that stream almost the same way. When they're are not in fullscreen they work, when we put in fullscreen, all we can see is a blackscreen as the stream stops working.
I really love firefox, but i needed to go to maxthon because to this.
Could you let me know if this will be fixed? Thank you!
You can test these streaming videos over this link:

    Greetings,
    A beloved Firefox User.

    Hello,
The problem might be because of the phone's resolution. The app is not recognizing your screen size. But relax, we will find a quick solution for this in the upcoming updates. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thank you for letting us know about this.

Make sure you have the latest version of Flash. You can download the latest version of Flash from Adobe at http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html#main_Archived_versions
Scroll down to the "Flash Player for Android 4.0 archives" links and download the latest flash version. Currently (11.1.115.54).

  • Apple TV freezes videos stream as soon as it goes fullscreen on youtube...

    Hi,
My Apple TV used to work fine until yesterday, it suddenly started to freeze the video stream on airplay mirroring using youtube and other streaming sites (both on tv and on my devices, I've used 2 different Iphones and an Ipad and it's all the same).
None of the rebooting, resetting, Airplay on/off  solution has worked. Also tried restarting all my devices, my router etc...
It's connected to the internet via an ethernet cable so no wifi issues either.
It airplays the device screens ok and I can see my own photos or videos just fine but when I go to youtube or other video streaming sites (which is pretty much the only reason I USE it !) I can browse and choose my videos but as soon as I play them it goes on fullscreen mode and starts to buffer endlessly.  Then  the message "cannot play content, try again later" pops up and quickly disappears.
As soon as I stop Airplay though, the video resumes on my devices...
I think this happened after the last update...not sure though
    Any ideas?

So there could indeed be wifi issues then.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.
The following article(s) may help you.

  • Streaming from camera fullscreen?

    Hi,

Using the new recording menu selection i can bring up the image from the camera, but i can't seem to set it to fill the entire computer scren. Is there a way to do this?

    Welcome to Discussions, Pustulio
If are seeking a pro level video production video cam, I defer to the video professionals for answers.
However, if you are only looking for a moveable, zoom-capable replacement for an iSight to use with your Leopard Mac, there are a lot of alternatives in this list that will work for you:
      http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2018211
If you already have a Mac-compatible camcorder, that will give you the best picture.
If you need to buy something and if price is a factor, the lowest cost option with decent image quality will probably be a good quality "UVC" webcam with the optical zoom range you need. Of course, whatever you choose must be compatible with the software you intend to use, too.

  • Fullscreen 2nd Display on OSX (NBA League Pass streaming)

When using NBA's League Pass service you can stream live and pre-recorded games. It uses Flash to do this and has a full screen option. Howver, when I full screen it on my 2nd display, and then click on something else on the main display, the video goes back to windowed mode.
The strange thing about this is I can get it to stay full screen sometimes. It seems completely random and there is no fool-proof method to make it do it every time. I did a bunch of reading through Google and found out that this functionality is supposed to be possible since version 10.3 with Flash Player.
Is there a way to make it do this every time? I found some information for Windows users where they can edit a DLL file using a hex editor and it will make it work properly, consistently. Is there anything like that which I can do for OSX?
