Streaming video from an iPad mini to a MacBook Pro using Airplay

How do I stream video from my iPad to my MacBook Pro? I want to watch the video content of my iPad mini on my MacBook Pro. I have a mac-based application called "Reflector." and it says an iPad can stream video using Airplay, but I have no idea how to start Airplay (or cause it to stream video to the MBP).

I can't seem to edit my old message so I will add as a reply. I think my question may not be very clear. Here is an image of my iPhone screen (running 7.1.2 and I'm sorry it's so big): (Continue reading below the big image.)
But as you see there is no Airplay button beside the AirDrop button on the control panel. I see this same control panel on all my iDevices (or at least there is no Airplay icon on any of them). How do I get this icon to appear. By the way, I am using a Cisco wireless router - not an airport router (could that be the problem?)

You can try one thing. Follow these steps:
1. On your Mac, turn on AirPlay Mirroring and connect it to the Apple TV, so audio and video will stream from the Apple TV.
2. Turn off the sound of the TV where you have connected the Apple TV.
3. Then, make sure that you have turned on the AirPlay speakers. Then, open System Preferences > Sound > Output, and choose the external speakers, so sound will stream from these external speakers.

Do you have backup made of the phone before it was deleted? if so, you can get it out of the backup, otherwise, not much hope.
If on mac: Dr.Fone (Mac) will do the job nicely, I'm sure there's something equivalent for windows, but I'm not so familiar there.

To copy photos to your computer that were taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites then see this page - on a Mac you can use Image Capture, iPhoto or Aperture.
To copy photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.

I agree with you...to a point. I knew my 13-inch aluminum had no firewire, but I had no idea Apple would leave me high and dry by creating a product that would not accept DV video by any means. That's like producing a computer without a headphone jack. It's unconscionable for a company that promotes easy video editing and creation as one of their primary selling points to put a product like this out there. I have iMovie and I can't even use it?? Who thought THAT was a good idea? I upgraded to Mac for a reason and I'm deeply disappointed.

How can I stream video from my Ipad to my apple tv?

I just got the Apple TV 3rd Gen so I could stream from my IPAD to the TV in my gym in order to stream some of my workout videos. I got the Apple TV set up and connected to the television (HDMI) and to my WIFI and my Apple account etc. however, I can't get it to find my Mac Mini, Ipad or IPhone 5, all of which are set up for home sharing on the same network and all of which just updated the other day. I can't find the Airplay on my devices other than the Apple TV. When I try to connect using Bluetooth, my Mac Mini sees the Apple TV and attempts to pair but the Apple TV just spins and searches contionuosly. My ITunes syncs correctly with my phone and Mac Mini and I can't find any issues there.
Any ideas how to get this working?

Why can't i delete videos from my ipad mini 2?

I'm running out of space on my iPad mini 2, 32gb, ios8.1.2. I want to delete some videos I shot on holiday last year, so I can make some more this year.
In the camera roll, I hit select, select the vids to delete, but the trash can icon goes grey (inactive) instead of blue (active). Deleting photographs is not a problem.
These films are not on my Cloud drive. I copied them onto my laptop - for editing purposes and backup. They are in a sub-folder in Movies, not in iTunes, as far as I can tell.
This doesn't explain why they are still on my iPad, despite all attempts to delete them!
Please help - I dare not shoot more vid until I know I'll be able to get rid of it!

Is it possible that these videos are being used in an iMovie for iOS project? That would cause it to be impossible to delete them. See this article for how to complete the deletion -
