Stuck during Installing windows 7 using boot camp
Hi,
Anybody please help. I tried to install Windows 7 using boot camp, but always stuck halfway...please see the attached image for my failed attempt step by step. Please correct me, if i miss anything
1)
2) Then when click continue, this error came out,
I did watch in youtube how to install windows using bootcamp, there is no this type of notification supposed to come out.
3) Then , I continued, created the window installer using bootable pen drive and download the windows support.
4) But the, It just END here without proceeding to install window.
WHY IT JUST STOP HERE???PLEASE, SOMEONE TRY TO EXPLAIN AND GUIDE ME...AND WONDER IF U SEE THE NEXT IMAGE, I NEVER CAN JUMP STRIGHT TO THIRD STEP (INSTALLED OR REMOVE WINDOW), SINCE I DO HAVE THE BOOTABLE WINDOWS INSTALLER AND UPADATED SUPPORT SOFTWARE. I cant select the third option, it just greyed...
I would be great if somebody can help me out...I did try to install the windows almost 10 times already, never success...

Yes, i do have more than one partion on my mac hard disk, so u meant, boot camp cant work with multiple partions?
If i need to format hdisk, this will be the second time, with my 3month old macbook..

If it is OSX Snow Leopard Installation DVD then yes this disc contains the BootCamp Drivers version 3.x and is needed after the installation of Windows to install the BootCamp Drivers.
With OSX Lion BootCamp is at version 4.x and the BootCamp Drivers have to be downloaded during use of the BootCamp Assistant in OSX.

Installed Windows using boot camp but lost my mac disc mid setup!
I am on a Macbook Pro running Snow Leopard and used Boot Camp 3.0.4 to try and get Windows 7 on it. I partitioned the hard drive and successfully installed Windows 7 on my comp using my Windows 7 CD. However, being the overeager moron that I am, I did so without ensuring that I have a Snow Leopard CD. So now I am stuck in Windows. Anybody got any solutions for a dumb man?
you are not stuck.
the default OS is set to the Windows volume
hold down x on startup
or hold down option key after the chime sound and wait for the startup selector
when you get to OS X then go to Startup Disk control in system preferences -
Why can't I start Mac after installing Windows using boot camp???
I'm new to Mac.... Have installed Windows 7 through Bootcamp... Well, I tried to at least!! I can now only get into Windows every time I start the mac up.... What have I done wrong - and how do I fix it!?!

The restart in Mac OS X icon (a grey diamond) will only appear after you've installed the Boot Camp drivers. If you installed the drivers, try clicking on the sideways triangle to show any hidden system tray icons. You can also use the boot camp control panel to restart in Mac OS X.
For how many partitions you have, you should be able to see those in the Disk Utility application in Mac OS X or the Disk Management app in Windows. Be careful not to delete any of them. If you want to remove a partition, I'd use the Boot Camp Utility to do that. Nore as well that OS X 10.7 and above add a hidden recovery partition to your drive that you won't see in Disk Utility but will see in the Windows app.

I have a original Macbook Air of 2008 (http://support.apple.com/kb/SP8?viewlocale=pt_BR) with the Mac OS Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and I want to install the Windows 7 Professional x64 as a secondary partition using the BootCamp 3.0.4. After steps necessary for create a new partition with the BootCamp, I rebooted the machine with the "Windows 7 Professional installation DVD" in DVD device, but then the setup Windows installation does not appears, showing the initialization white screen of the Mac OS with the apple image, a symbol of emptiness and a folder with a "?" symbol within alternating infinitely and do not finish.
I tried with the Windows Ultimate Vista x86, but occurs the same.
Please, what can I do to install the Windows in my Macbook Air?

Jonas PresseNo, I did not get a solve. Actually, my problem worsened. I tried it again, but this time the computer wouldn´t detect my alu keyboard, hence I couldn´t select a drive to tell the bloody thing where to boot from. That is weird, because at the time I opened this thread it did work. I actually had to borrow a wired keyboard so I could hit alt and get it to work.
At the moment I am not so keen on trying it again...... -
Unable to open windows using boot camp. Get message "The bless tool was unable to set the current boot disk." I am using an Imac , Lion operating system, and Windows 7. It worked a few days ago. Any thoughts, Thank you.
Note that nowhere in the Boot Camp instructions does it tell you to use Disk Utility to format the Windows partition. The Boot Camp Assistant program creates the partition & sets the +partition scheme info+ of the disk as appropriate for the Windows installer but the Windows installer itself is responsible for formatting the new partition with the appropriate +file system scheme+ (NTFS for Windows 7).
If you follow the instructions in the Boot Camp Installation & Setup Guide to the letter you should have no problems installing Windows. -
I just bought a 2013 late model Mac Book Pro Retina and am wondering if it is worth installing windows through boot camp.
If I install the windows component in order to run an exe file and its component "Declans Korean Flash Cards"... will it make my mac suseptible to viruses overall due to having a windows component? also will it make my mac slower as wellIf you are only going to use one or two window only programs then I wouldn't waste the space. Try WinonX it allows you to install exe. Files on Mac without installing windows.

If i create a partition for Windows 7, and boot up in Windows using Boot Camp, can I still access the files from the Mac partition (Photo's Music etc.)

No, OSX will be read only (from Windows) and vice versa. (you can install 3rd party utilities on either or both partitions, to make read/write possible) -

Go to the Windows Control Panel and select Boot Camp applet. In that applet there is a Boot Drive option. Select Mac OS X.
Or restart the system and hold down the Option key for a few second. A Boot Menu screen will come up. Select Macintosh HD.
Once in OS X go to the Sys Prefences, Startup Disk and select Macintosh HD Mt Lion 10.8.2 and click Restart then Restart again. the system will now restart in Mac OS X.
To boot back to Windows do the same, Startup Disk, and select Windows then Restart and Restart again. -
If I buy a mac mini with a fusion drive and add windows using boot camp, can I make the SSD function be dedicated to the windows partition?
Additional information from Linc's post. Basically, only one additional partition can be added to a Fusion Drive and it resides on the HDD.

Installing XP using boot camp with partitiion drive?
I recently re-installed Leopard on my mac, and i decided to partition the drive.
Then, when I went to install XP using boot camp it said that it only works with 1 partition!
Is there any way round this without re-partitioning my drive?
I also have an ext drive now so maybe I could install it there, but that would be slower.I just tried to run the hardware diagnostic test, half way through, the screen started to flicker so much, I had to abort the test. Please help!

I am facing a strange problem. I downloaded a Mountain lion Iso from internet ( ver 10.8.3) , which i made a USB disk bootable from Lion Disk Maker software. I did a clean installation. I want to install Window 7 Sp2 Ultimate 64 bit. I have already installed easily through boot camp but this time when i insert the window 7 disk and it makes partition and after restart its all black screen for which i waited may be the installer starts but it did not.
I tried to try the option key trick but there i couldnt see the Boot Camp drive which partition makes and also the when Window 7 disk appear and i click it , It restarts and again the same black screen . Please help me out , I have to use windows as I have migrated from windows.please anyone help me

I can not use my mouse or keyboard when I am trying to install windows via boot campStarting a couple of days ago my mouse and keyboard stopped working suddenly.
How are they connected? In my case they are wireless and their receiver is plugged into my USB hub. After an update I found the OS inexplicably not recognizing my USB hub and hence any devices which were plugged into it. My fix was to
plug the receiver into a different USB port (so I could use the mouse and keyboard; otherwise I would have had to use the OSK via Touch or pen.) Once I had normal access into my machine again I used Device Manager to remove all USB controller and
hubs (including hidden ones) and I then shut down, disconnected all USB devices and powered back up, this time using only Touch to get going. Once the OS had settled down I started plugging stuff back in the way that I wanted it to be recognized.
If I didn't have Touch I would have had to have left the wireless receiver plugged in both places which I assume would be OK. I have no idea why updates have such a catastrophic effect for USB devices.
