Stuck key on my Blackberry

the #5 key is stuck ~ what can I do?j

There are two solutions to this.  The first is to not type anything that has the number '5' in it.  This isn't a very practical solution, so if your BlackBerry is less than one year old, you can take it to your carrier for warranty work.  If it's older than that, the repair work will probably cost you more than a new phone would cost.
I hope that clears things up for you.

  • T400 stuck key issue

I bought my T400 2764-CTO in last December, and started using it on mini dock without any problem. Until recently, it starts to show stuck key issue randomly (not always failure) both at boot up or under Windows Vista.
    ERROR
    0210 Stuck Key FF
    Press <F1> to SetUp
Note: the stuck key keeps changing, sometimes 13, sometimes 1F, sometimes other key.
I opened the laptop, and checked the connection of the keyboard but couldn't locate any problem there. Can this be a keyboard issue? Or even a motherboard issue?
Can Lenovo swap a new keyboard for me? If so, what do I need to do then?
    Thanks!
    Best Regards

You can call Lenovo service, and log a service call, they will make the necessary arrangements. If you are not confident with bios update then please don't do it youself, and let the warranty department do it for you, as any mistakes can make your laptop useless and you will be paying couple hundreds of euros to get the motherboard replaced.

Can you gently clean the keyboard connector on the motherboard with isopropyl alcohol?

  • Stuck Key Like Symptom?

    Hi There
On random occasions I often notice if I right click on an icon and want to select an option from the sub-menu, the highlighted option will often be flickering or fight against my mouse cursor towards a seemingly random choice. If I press any key on the keyboard it clears and functions normally. The strange thing is, I never see random text being entered so its not entirely a stuck key. Has anyone experienced similar?
This is a Late 2008 iMac running Leopard 10.5.8.
    Thanks for any help

Think I found the solution myself: seemed to be some kind of conflict with MobileMe control panel, so maybe something to do with syncing and nothing to do with the keyboard.  Uninstalled the programme and the problem is solved.

  • Stuck Key & Error Message

Thinkpad T410i windows 7.  Getting a stuck key 4D message on startup, can boot just by pressing escape twice, but then getting a persistent and intermittent / random error message pop up.  The error message is blank and contains no information other than the word Error.  My keyboard seems fine, no jammed keys.

  • B570 Keyboard Issue.... Keyboard stuck key issue....

    Okay...
Earlier in February, My sister accidentally spilled sweet tea (That's right, Sweet Tea) on My BIBB Laptop... After letting it dry for a few days, I found out that the Main Keyboard needed to be replaced, so I bought a replacement Keyboard in June...  However, when I plugged it in to my Laptop and tried to start it up, This error occurred:
Error: (I Can't remember the number) Keyboard Stuck Key.
After Unplugging the replacement keyboard (Which is in Great Condition...) I restarted the Computer with my USB Keyboard Connected and it started up fine.... After logging in, I tested my replacement keyboard by plugging it in, and found out that both Shift keys, Backspace keys, arrow keys, and the Number pad on the far right of the Keyboard weren't working....
A friend of mine told me that it was a Motherboard problem and the laptop would have to be replaced, But now I Don't know what To do now....
    My question is:
Is there a way to fix this without replacing the whole Laptop? And if so, How?

I'm unable to find any information on Seacreate.  Are you sure it's spelled correctly?
Try running a Windows update to see if that finds a driver for it.  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isnt-working-properly
If that updates properly and it's still not working, then it's more than likely a hardware issue.  Can you check the keyboard cable connections and make sure it is all secure and not crimped, broken, etc?

  • T510 - Error 0210: Stuck key 45

I get the message "Erro 0201: Stuck key 45" and then <Press F1>.
I hit an Esc and login but, have keying problems with typing when the laptop is connected to the dock =
mouse's first button does not show the menu;  if i press shift button i don't get caps; cannot type text in Google text box - the cursor keeps blinking  but shows no characters inspite of typing
If i remove the dock, then most keying problems disappear but occasionally i will see a = character running across couple of lines without me hitting any key.
    Any suggestions will help.

The message tells you, that the Numlock-key (keycode #45) hangs. Take a look onto your keyboard and check for foreign bodies.

  • Error 0210: stuck key 2b - t61 thinkpad + windows 7 32 bit

When ever I switch on the system i get this message error 0210: stuck key 2b". If I press esc key then it boots to the os windows 7 and also after booting up, if I open any ms word doc, the # key gets pressed automatically and I could see continous # characters getting typed in the doc. THis has started only after installing the w7 in my thinkpad. Can anyone suggest me if this is an os problem or keyboard failure. THis is repeating even after I clean the keypad and then turn on. This is happening in bios as well, I get a continous beep sound even in the bios as if some key is getting pressed all the time. So please let me know do I have to change the whole key board or just reseat the connection or something else is pending. Please help me, I am wondering why this problem has started immediately after I installed the window 7. If its an os problem, y am i getting the beep sound in bios, so i think its definetly not the os prob. Something wrong with the keys is it not. Any suggestions or tips are appreciated, I ran the HD diagnostic, it passed.
    THanks,
    Solved!

    manu555,
If this is occurring in BIOS as you note, that rules out anything having to do with the OS.   As GMAC-R60 suggests, this points to the keyboard being bad, or having a bad / intermittant connection to the system board, or something on the system board going bad.
    I would try:
    Checking the physical keyboard connection:
Remove and unplug the keyboard - inspect the keyboard plug for any visible corrosion or damage.  Plug it back in carefully and try again.  If the problems are still occurring, then try..
Clearing CMOS and resetting BIOS defaults - sometimes you get some stuck bit that causes an abnormal state:
Remove battery & AC adapter.  Press and hold the power button several times for a count of 5 each time.   Re-attach AC and restart the computer.    Go into BIOS and reload factory defaults and save.  (there is a option to restore factory defaults).  Shut down.  Put in your battery and restart.
Try replacing the keyboard - you can contact service and order a replacement keyboard outside of warranty, or source on from a local business partner (if there are warranty authorized resellers in your area, they will have the keyboard in stock, or be able to order it).   Or, check online sales - ebay, etc as you wish.
If none of these steps resolve it, then my next suggestion would be the system board, but I think that is rather unlikely.
    Best regards,

  • Stuck Keys

    Hi,  I have a K230, E8400 chip.  I have a keys issue.
First, know I have tried two keyboards - Lenovo and plain.
I have had this problem on the original  Vista Premium 64, and now have it on Windows & Professional. The original had the Lenovo keyboard driver, the Win7 does not.
I have been all over the Sticky keys features and they are not on. And their controls do not clear the problem.
The problem:  is that when I type my typical password, about one in 20 times, the keys start acting like ALT, CTRL, or ??? is stuck.  It gets stuck that way until a Logout/login cycle.
For example (though I have not noted the exact things that happen) typing a T causes windows to swap. M causes windows to close. P pops something else up.
My basic password starts with "Maddy"   and I can type it extremely quickly and that seems to set this off. I am either accidentally hitting a key combination like Ctrl-M instead of Shift M....or the triple combo of Shift or Alt and M and a  - and thus triggering something to set something in the keyboard driver....somewhere!, like the BIOS.
Any hints or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I just applied Software Update to bring my MacBook Pro from 10.5 to 10.5.2 and the repeating key / stuck key problem just started appearing.
Randomly, the OS X will repeat a key that I've pressed after a short delay, say 10 or 15 times.
    This never happened on 10.5.
A possible solution some are offering is to apply the firmware update for Macbook/MacBook Pro keyboards, which unfortunately, isn't a fix for you considering that you're using a Mac Pro.
Anyways the firmware update is here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1482?viewlocale=en_US
Edit: The above link is the "about" page. Here's the actual update package: http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macbookmacbookprokeyboardfirmwareupdate10 .html

  • Stuck keys in single user mode

I am running Solaris 2.6. on an Ultra10. When in single user mode, I am getting "stuck keys". If I type a y to answer a question, I get yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. If I try to delete some of the repeated letters, the delete key removes them all.
What's up with that? I am trying to perform a restore, and need to be in single user mode.
    Thanks for any help,
    Phil

    Welcome to  discussions, shaolson.
Have you done anything recently that could have caused this?
What Operating system do you have 10.2, 10.3, 10.4 ??
    1. Try starting up in safe mode, by holding down the Shift Key.
    2. else, if you can get the Install DVD in, startup using the 'C' key to boot into the Install DVD and run repair Disk from Disk utility. I know you have already tried fsck in single usermode, but the benefit of using Disk Utility is you can get useful feedback about what it has done.
    The procedure, in case you are unfamiliar with it is;
To do this: Insert the Install Disk 1 into the drive and then select Restart; when you hear the chime hold down C key until the apple logo appears.
This will take you to the installation software, but you do not want to install.
Select your language, then go up to the top menu bar to Utilities in 10.4 (or Installer in 10.3) and navigate to the Disk Utility application.
Select the start up drive, then go to the First Aid pane where you can click on Repair Disk.
If it finds errors, repeat the process until it reports no errors.
After these repairs, quit the application, and restart normally.
    3. If it still will not start up normally, restart with the Install DVD and do an *Archive and Install* to preserve your existing files. If successful, these will be located in a folder called Previous System on your hard drive.
    4. If Archive and Install is not possible, because you have insufficient Disk space to complete that operation, then you will need to connect your eMac to another Mac and and retrieve the important files via that means.

Usually this type of message means that one or more keys on the keyboard are stuck in the down position. You might want to inspect the keyboard to see if any keys are mechanically stuck. It's also possible that a liquid spill has caused one or more keys to electrically "short" and look to the BIOS as if the key is stuck.
If you're mechanically handy you can remove the keyboard for closer inspection and cleaning. The Hardware Maintenance Manual for the T61 series gives detailed instructions on removing/replacing the keyboard as well as the part numbers for replacement keyboards. You can find inexpensive used keyboards on eBay, etc.
Incidentally this post made me smile. This sort of problem and message goes back to the first IBM PC. I recall getting a BIOS message like "Keyboard error: Press <F1> to continue." The message was issued because I'd forgotten to plug in the keyboard into the system unit. This is a silly message because if the keyboard is disconnected or broken how is the BIOS going to detect that you've pressed the F1, or any other, key?

  • When booting I get an Error 0210: Stuck Key 01 Lenovo Thinkpad

    Hello,
When powering on I get this error
    "Error 0210: Stuck Key 01
Press <F1> to Setup" Please give your valuable suggestions. Thanks in advance. Sukumar

    Hi Sukumar,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m sorry to hear that you are getting stuck key error in your Lenovo ThinkPad.
Stuck key error means that one or more keys on the keyboard are stuck. It's possible that a liquid spill can also cause one or more keys to electrically "short" causing the error. Inspect the keyboard and check if any keys are mechanically stuck.
If you're mechanically handy you can remove the keyboard, inspect any chances of damage or corrosion. Plug it back and see if error is still occurring.
Reset BIOS to default settings. Perform Flee Power – remove the battery and any other peripheral device connected to the computer. Hold the power button for 10-15 seconds and then connect only the AC Adapter and turn ON the computer.
If none of the above said helped to resolve your concern, I strongly recommend you to contact our technical support for assistance.

  • T43 getting ERROR 0210 Stuck Key FF

My laptop will not boot up outside the docking station.  Nor will it boot up when I have it docked unless I have a PS2 mouse attached.  Outside the docking station or without the mouse the ThinkPad splash screen comes up but doesn't go anywhere and the Access IBM key does not work.
BUT, when I plug in the PS2 mouse the boot up proceeds and shows the following:
    ERROR
    0210 Stuck Key FF
    Press <F1> to SetUp
So, I press F1 and it goes to the Bios then I F10 and the system completes the boot process.  Yesterday I did a complete System restore to Original Manufacturer settings to see if that would fix my problem but it doesn't.  So, I have a laptop that only works when it's in a docking station so it's not very portable.
    Any ideas?

I am reaching but, they way you describe it.... Sounds like a CMOS battery.  Cheaper than most options and possibly issue.
when it is in Dock it is drawing power to devices - out of dock it holds the settings via battery - like I said it is a stretch but a cheap first step.
