"Stutter" in video, t3i

In shooting video (using full HD), there is a very obvious and distracting stutter in even the SLIGHTEST pan shot.  Is there a setting that I am missing?  Thanks ~

Pixelriffic,
We do not directly have a way for you to upload the video to us, but you can always try posting it on a popular video upload site and send us the link.  I also would like to determine if this is just in the video being output from the camera.
Do you also see the stutter on the LCD screen when you playback the video directly on the camera?
I also understand you have been waiting for a reply for a while now.  If this is a time sensitive-matter, I recommend that you Contact Us directly by phone.  Speaking with one of our representatives over the phone, you should be able to get the issue resolved in a more timely manner so you can get back to shooting with your EOS Rebel T3i.

  • Buzzing and stutter during video

    Hi,
This has been going for some time now, I hoped that it would get better with an update or something but it didn't. (Graphic Card and Sound card Drivers are the latest. Checked motherboard drivers with MSI Live Update 5)
The problem is, when watching video, video stops (stucks) for a second and a buzzing sound comes then it continues. It happens again 4-5 minutes later. Wasn't that bad at first but it kinda makes you go mad after a few months. :D
I searched the net and found that DELL Laptops have a similar problem and generally their problems were fixed by installing "Intel Rapid Storage Technology" drivers.
I checked MSI's page for P55-CD53 and find "Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver" but when I try to install it says
"This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software."
So I have no idea what else to do.
My computer specs are in my signature, anything else I'll try to answer. Thanks in advance.

    Thank you for the replys.
This problem has been bothering me for some time now.
I recently bought the graphic card, 8gb ram, cpu fan and overclocked my system. (2 weeks or so)
So the problems predates the overclock, graphic card and ram. after buying the new graphic card, I did a clean driver install (removed prevous graphic drivers and reinstalled).
and it was the latest drivers back then and it still is. But I don't get what you mean by "all graphic drivers".
I uninstalled the nvidia driver and reinstalled it. Is there anything else?

  • Why does the sound stutter when video stream is OK?

How can I give priority to the sound signal?

did you put your Air to sleep with headphones attached, or closed the monitor with phones attached?
Do not sleep your Air (close the monitor with headphones attached) with headphones attached, this is known to affect some Air under Mavericks.
      * this occurrence is being looked into.
Much testing on my own and others as well show that, in some instances, this occurs in Mavericks.
If you choose you may contact Apple for an appt and diagnostics.
However as said, refrain from having phones attached when you close the monitor to prevent this until it is resolved
    Test this and re-verify

  • Slow graphics performance - login screen, launchpad, full screen video all stutter

Since installing Mavericks, I've found that several system animations are slow/stutter. This is on a 2012 MacBook Air with maxed out hardware specs so its not b/c I'm running an old system.
    Some examples:
    - When booting up, right before I reach the login screen, the display quickly flashes blue. This leads me to believe something funky is going on with my graphics card/drivers
    - The login animation, where you click your username and it floats to the middle of the screen so you can type in your password, is very jerky, taking 2+ seconds to complete. Previously it had been fast and smooth
    - When using Launchpad, expanding folders often takes several seconds. The folder will start to expand, freeze, and then finally finish. This tends to be more of a problem for folders with 1 row of icons. Large folders oddly seem to expand ok / smoothly
    - Watching full screen video in iTunes causes the audio to stutter (the video playback is still smooth). If I make the window smaller, audio and video playback are smooth again
Is anyone else experiencing these kinds of graphics issues? Any idea whats going on or how to fix?

Quit Chrome and see whether there's any change. If not, see below.
    Step 1
When you notice the problem, launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Activity Monitor in the icon grid.
Select the CPU tab of the Activity Monitor window.
Select All Processes from the View menu or the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected.
Click the heading of the % CPU column in the process table to sort the entries by CPU usage. You may have to click it twice to get the highest value at the top. What is it, and what is the process? Also post the values for User, System, andIdle at the bottom of the window.
Select the Memory tab. What value is shown in the bottom part of the window for Swap used?
Next, select the Disk tab. Post the approximate values shown for Reads in/sec and Writes out/sec (not Reads in and Writes out.)
    Step 2
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way you launched Activity Monitor. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Select the 50 or so most recent entries in the log. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combinationcommand-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V). You're looking for entries at the end of the log, not at the beginning.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some personal information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting. That should be easy to do if your extract is not too long.

  • System-wide video stutter problem

When I start a video chat with anyone it works well until some point when the computer begins to stutter as well as the video and audio from the video chat to the point that the computer becomes almost unusable. Once I close the video chat the computer comes back to normal. If I don't close the chat window then sometime later the green light on the iSight stops glowing and my side of the video on the chat gets stuck. At this point I can still see and listen to the other party and they can listen to me.
Other times this "bug" or whatever it may be called happens earlier in during the chat by having the video chat at the sime time as watching a video on Safari (youtube or any flash content). When this happens, both the iChat video and the Safari video start to stutter.
This has also happened while playing WoW.
I have tried reinstalling OS X 10.5 and it just comes back to haunt me.
    Thanks for your help

I just reinstalled OS X 10.5 and still have the same problem. I would say it gets worse and worse. Last thing that happened was I was playing World of Warcraft and the computer just started to stutter, mouse, video, sound, everything an then it shut down. After reboot i got this error report:

  • Video and display having artefacts

    Hi
For the past week or two (maybe its because I am in Greece and the temperature is 36°C and the CPU temp is at 80°C most of the time).
But when I have been capturing video and doing anything that uses a lot of the CPU it seems to have artefacts or stutter on video playback, or the video freezes and the sound continues, etc.
    Even on YouTube, etc.
Anything I can do to help this? Zap the VRAM/PRAM??
    Thanks in advance

    Have you tried the basics?

  • P7N2 Stutter

    Hi,
I'm having some trouble with stutter that I can't seem to get rid of. I get microstutter and stutter in all games that I run, on both XP and Vista. My setup:
    P7N2 Diamond (790i Ultra)
    QX9650 @ stock
    4GB Corsair DDR3 @ stock
NVIDIA RAID stripe (x3 WD Caviar)
    8800 Ultra (single)
The effect is most pronounced in world of warcraft, where I get horrendous stutters about once every 5 seconds. I've reverted all settings back to auto to resolve this, and the problem remains.
    Any ideas?
    Cheers,
    Rai

    Hi just checking back in.
Hrmmm ok video stutter huh it then huh.   Remove sound card for following testing.  keep only motherboard, PSU, hard drives.  Please re seat the memory after rubbing terminals with a rubber and reseat the video card assuring approiate power to all devices.  Then set motherboard back to non overclocked settings if this is your case.
Jmicron does not handle the internal sata ports that is handled by nvidia chipset and this particular motherboard actually has two nivida chipsets functioning on it.  I am guessing you have already updated your mobo bios if not please see here.   https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=118146
    Things to do.
http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=745   download this and remove all nvidia based drivers you can also clear cabs if you wish then reboot.  before you do create a restore point that you can revert back to.  Vista is still shaky with driver changes sometimes.
Then install new Nforce drivers from here   (OBVIOUSLY DOWNLOADING BEFORE REMOVING NETWORK DRIVERS IF YOU ONLY HAVE ONE PC)
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us  choosing nforce 7 and the approiate operating system.  PLEASE NOTE NVIDIA XP CHIPSET DRIVERS DO INSTALL ON VISTA HOWEVER NEXT REBOOT VISTA IS FOREVER CORRUPTED TILL REINSTALL, so pay attention :P  I have made the mistake myself before when up at 4am fixing a pc.
Then install your Gforce 8 series drivers from the same site
    http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
This is actually all you need to make your system function appropriately for most things.  If you wish you can then install the Nvidia system tools which incorporates the old Ntune and also manages raid monitoring and system monitoring.  You may then install your sound card drivers / sound card if you want.  you can also clear "creative drivers' at the same time as the nvidia ones using the same tools.
Please do not install the nvidia network media shield.  It has always been a source of problems and most do not even know what it fully does and do not need it.
If you still have stutter after this it means 2 things.
reason 1.  You have a bad install of your selected operating system.
reason 2.  Your issue is hardware related.
Hardware issues for stutter are likely to be bad PSU check this first as its the easiest thing to remove from the equation.  Also this motherboard has problems with PCI express voltages.  I myself have a 1500watt and can not run more then 2  9800gx2's and a 9600 before the pci express slots can't provide enough power.  Other common culprits are Ram issues but the symptoms do not point here as the ram would most likely cause your system to lock up/system32 corrupt or not post at all, rather then stutter in video.  Check IRQ in system device manager to see what is sharing your video card IRQ.  Try to disable unnecessary things if they are sharing and are also not need.  Like the motherboard firewire ports.
Then in order of most likely to least likely, Motherboard faulty, hard drive faulty(unlikely as the symptoms do not match, hard drives tend to corrupt data when you don't know there faulty and make a loud clunking noise when you do know there faulty  , then least likely cpu faulty.   CPU's are actually one of the more resilient devices in a computer (unless you have fried it)
    Goodluck

  • Problems using livetype files in FCP

    hello,
i am working with a regular 48k timeline in FCP 4.0.
i have imported many rendered motion text files from livetype into my sequence.
what's peculiar is that once i render the text in my timeline, there seems to be a stutter of video everytime the text fades in and then again when it fades out...almost as if the video skips a frame....
any ideas of what this may be? looked at my livetype project settings and there doesnt seem to be an issue with that...i also tried nesting the tracks in FCP but to no avail...
    thanks!
    steve

..the files i am using as my source video and layering livetype on top of are quicktime files i exported from avid express pro hd....these were source QT files that i have not had a problem with in FCP...maybe livetype isnt liking it?
Well Steve you likely have a QT file made with the Avid Meridian codec. I'm not an Avid guy, but you might check with Avid to see if you can download a version that allows you to create QT files that OSX can use.

  • R9 280x lagging after minimize

so recently I bought MSI Gaming R9 280x
I;ve noticed that every time I wan't to check something on internet while playing some game if I minimize it and go for example on YT I have constant lag and stutter on videos , scrolling pages etc.
what is the cause of that ?
mind that I had only 1gb GPU before this and never had similar issue

Quote from: Nichrome on 13-April-15, 20:56:34
It might be. Cant tell to be fair. You could try clear CMOS using this >>Clear CMOS Guide<< (or Manual for motherboard) but cannot guarantee it will help.
well I think is not because I just reset all OC tweaks but this problem still persists
could reinstalling drivers help somehow ?

  • Temporary video stutter in games, mid 2009 MBP

    Hi all,
I've been having a chronic issue with my mid-2009 MBP with 256MB NVIDIA 9400M, only noticeable when playing games.  Starting a few minutes after I start playing a game, the video will stutter in regular, discrete chunks. It will run fine for about a second, then lag horribly for a second, and alternate between these two.  This is especially noticeable with graphics-intense games such as Starcraft 2, but happens even for certain less demanding games too.
The funny thing is that the issue goes away after 15-20 minutes of play or so.  After that, no matter how long I play for (for periods up to several hours), the issue does not return.  This makes me think it must be some sort of software or driver issue, and thus hopefully fixable.  On the other hand, it happens both in OSX and Win 7 under Bootcamp.
One thing is that I have upgraded the RAM and installed a new hard drive; maybe these are causing problems?  I don't remember if this issue predates the new hardware.
Anyone have any thoughts?  I've poked around a bit and haven't seen anyone report this exact same issue.
    My specs are:
    MacBook Pro
    13-inch, Mid 2009
Processor  2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory  8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics  NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB
EDIT: found this post with what seems to be the same issue: https://discussions.apple.com/message/15530456#15530456

Perhaps you could try this to resolve your issue: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
If the issue still persists, I would contact AppleCare, or may an appointment at the Genius Bar. There may be diagnostics they can run to determine if you have a failing logic board or GPU.

  • Opening a video playback app causes a system-wide stutter...

I've been experiencing a very odd bug, and I can't find anyone else who's had it, let alone had a solution to it.
When I open any app that plays back video (iTunes, QuickTime, VLC, DVD Player, etc.), it causes the display to hang up every few seconds. The hang-up lasts about a second, and persists even after I've stopped playing video and/or closed whatever app caused the stutter. Audio is unaffected, but the entire video output stutters, so you can see it even when moving the mouse pointer, scrolling up/down in a browser, etc. I have to restart to make it go away.
Imagine trying to watch a movie or tv show, and the picture pausing every few seconds, and you can maybe understand how infuriating this is. It essentially makes watching video impossible. As a pro video editor, this doesn't really work for me. Launching Final Cut Pro 7 doesn't cause the stutter to start, but if I launch say, iTunes, before FCP, all video output is affected by the stutter, and I have to restart.
The problem started occurring when I updated Snow Leopard from 10.6.6 to 10.6.7, and has persisted in 10.6.8
I've tried messing with video card settings, Display settings, updating video card drivers, uninstalling/reinstalling Perian, etc., all to no avail.
I would really appreciate any help on this. Thanks!

    Anyone?

  • Video stutter with iTunes movies - how to fix?

I just downloaded some movies from iTunes for the first time in both HD and standard format but none of them will play stutter free. I have these horizontal lines going through the image like the frame is slowly building itself up. Sometimes the whole frame will even freeze and then fast forward to catch up with the audio.
I never had this problem with any other HD video on my computer before. Does anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks!

  • IPhone 4 videos stutter

When I share the iP 4 videos to iTunes (960 x 540 setting) they stutter slightly. As if there is some problem with the frame rate. It is most notable in panning. There is no such stutter when I view the original clip.
IP 4 videos are 30 fps. I live in a PAL country where the frame rate is 25 fps. I wonder if that has got something to do with the problem. Though in iM I have tried both the NTSC and PAL settings and get stutter with both settings.

On the MobileMe there's a Help chat, that will get you live assistance for issues with MM. As far as I know these videos are compatible.

  • After uploading video it develops a stutter

After I have processed my movie and checked it I upload it to iCloud and it develops a stutter and becomes jumpy and unwatchable. The same thing happens if I upload the video to YouTube. It is not so bad when I share it to iTunes. I use a Panasonic and a Canon Digital Camera. I have been a long time user of iMovie and this hasn't happened before. I use an iMac with 16gb Ram OS X 10 and iMovie 10.0.6.

  • HD clips have video stutter after import

New problem with Sony HDR-SR5 import:
2 of 10 clips from recent vacation have video stutter/jerkiness upon import. All other clips are fine. The two clips that stutter in iMovie 08 play fine on the videocamera. I have never seen this before. I have reimported the abnormal clips, but no change. The audio is okay; it is just the video Any ideas?
    Mark

*How comforting* ( for me alas ) to find I'm not alone with this problem.
    Config: iMac-Intel - 2,16MHz, 1Go RAM, 320Go internal drive, 500Go USB external drive, OS-X 10,4,11 ( Tiger ) IMovie 7,1,1, SONY HDR-SR5E
My first few imports worked fine, then Imovie started to quit and 2 other movie sequences were corrupted ( stuttering image ) no matter how long they lasted or which HDD I decided to store them to.
Apparently other posters have signaled this to Apple, but that unfortunately does not help us getting on with our respective work.
It would seem there are only 2 solutions while we wait -
FCE = hand in wallet, or
Just copy the files from the SONY directly to a HDD location and wait for the Imovie issue to be solved.
Maybe unplug my Firewire Presonus Firebox ?????
All futher comments and possible work-arounds welcome naturally.
